I guess that's where you're at. Welcome in. It is Dynasty Week, a special week of shows bending towards the dynasty players out there. Today's a fun one because we're going to be doing trade for and tradeaway candidates. And these, look, it's specifically Dynasty Trade for Dynasty Tradeaway. But, um,

You know, that works for a redraft too because these are players that you think you make the move now, you get the benefit now and into the future. Yeah, I mean, it's the outlook of NFL futures. So for redraft, that still matters. This is whether or not we think the value is peaking has peaked or is, you know, there's more to come from this player. Right. I mean, that's, that's all we're picking here. Is it sneaking? Sneaking or peeking. It's one of them. Yep. That's today's show. We are going to do a little something fun for Dynasty Week. You can learn more at Ultimate draft kit.com for that. Quick question of the day to get us started. Chase writes in from X. I don't think it's Jamar Chase or Chase Brown, but. What's the most common mistake you see Dynasty managers make that consistently cost them value over time? I will jump in and this one, it's going to have cackles. I'm laughing at what has been added to your note in our dock. So in Dynasty, especially in the off season or the extended by week.

There's not a lot of action going on. You wait if you get your rookie dress. So people like to trade. And you know what? It's very fun. The sending of the... I like it. Sending the offer and offer going through. Each thing you do, you get a little dopamine flows throughout the body. It's fun. It feels good. And yet, overtrating in the... Can it be done? Yes, it can. Oh, yeah. I have seen the overtraders get themselves. All of a sudden, you're like, whoa, you made like four awesome moves right there. But because they're over traders, they can't stop. They can't walk away from the table. They continue to trade. And then they're back to their team just stinks. It's an unfortunate balance of trading. It's super fun. But if you do it too much, you're, you will overdo it and you'll just end up with nothing that you'll have nothing.

It takes a real old man to look in the mirror and say, maybe I'm doing a little too much trading here. Because you can't, you cannot win every trade. Now, wouldn't they have the argument that if you win 60% of the trades, that you should trade a thousand times as opposed to maybe, you know, five times, but I will say that, I mean, we've been in a lot of leagues. The people that trade like crazy that are all like every trade that goes through is this person when you got one of them in the league. Historically it does not work out great for that person. I think in Dynasty specifically it is more of a risk because generally what gets trades across the finish line is draft capital. And so if you are trading so frequently that you're just throwing in an extra piece here, an extra piece there to get the trades across the finish line, you find yourself depleted later on.

in future seasons i think that's a good one uh for me the mistake i see people making in dynasty leagues is always playing for the future always worrying about the youth the long-term outlook never realizing i'm in a championship window i need to put myself over the top i need to have a veteran like you've got to not just care so much that it's a dynasty league that you don't get to ever win a championship like you have to know when to go in and and do that that's not necessarily about you know what's costing you value over time but in the end the only thing that matters is do you win a championship right like that's that's it how many championships have you won in your dynasty league that's the question that matters two of the last three oh I wasn't asking oh I'm sorry so then we have the same amount of championships in our league got to two to the last three one jemir gives away from

Champ, champ, champ. That made me sad. I'm so happy that didn't happen. That made me sad. Can I, I was thinking about this driving in. It kind of ties into what you're saying here on the winning now versus winning later. And I have a concept, a theory, a thought for dynasty leagues that I want to run by you and whether you think it's stupid or not. I think running backs are more important to winning a championship and wide receivers are more important to being competitive long term. I think that's fair to say. And I do think that ties into that question there, where sometimes you're going to make what might be an antithetical dynasty decision on a trade or a draft pick, a rookie pick, because you need to play for today. And so I think that's the way it goes in Dynasty. I think the running backs shorter window, but big impact, especially when you think about the fact that the majority of your league is going to be focused on the longevity of the wide receiver position.

So something to think about. My mistake that I wanted to ring up was just blindly following the consensus in rookie drafts versus your own opinions. Yes, don't follow our opinions over your own opinions, right? This show is not about blindly following what we say. It's we're supposed to give you our perspectives, which we disagree with each other. Then you make your own decision. I mean, you can go back to rookie draft after rookie draft after rookie draft. everyone drafts them in a certain order and then you can look back with regret. I just pulled a random year because I just wanted to see what it was like. 2022. This was a year where Breece Hall went number one. Drake London went number two, then Ken Walker, then Traylon Burks went number four. You had Chris Olavay, Garrett Wilson, George Pickens, the next three off the board. Sky Moore. A couple of picks ahead of James Cook in this draft, right? So, you know, you kind of hit some of those. I'm sure we would, you know,

put a lave up ahead of Traylen Berks and everyone else ahead of Traylen Berks. But I think it's okay. Like one of the questions that's gotten brought up a lot this year is like, oh, when do I have permission to draft Jadirian Price? Right. That's the one I see them. Do I have permission to take Jadirian Price over Mackay Limit at five? Permission? Like you got permission to take. I've seen him at two. I think that's fine. I genuinely do. I think you can take the player you need to take that you have conviction about that you believe in. And just you will have to absorb the arrows, the eyeballs from your league that just say, you're an idiot. If you passed on Traylen Berks for James Cook, you would have been an idiot. Yes. Right? At the time, the dynasty world as a whole, there's a lot more room for stupidity as a perception. But the reality is much different. We have so many years of trades that you look at in the moment and you're like, oh my gosh, how do you do that? And it was better for the opposite person.

So I don't know what that means. It kind of seems like there's a parallel there to the way that the good stock traders treat the market versus the... Well, they just buy like... You know, they're willing... Not singular stocks. Can you do that? Sure. Can we do that? That's a good point. I will trade James Cook for your Cincinnati wide receivers. Yeah, that'd be nice to be able to take an entire collection. But no, the idea that you just have a little bit of... discipline and strength in the midst of a negative environment. Yeah. Because you believe in something. So plenty of other mistakes to make. Don't worry about that. It is really fun. You brought up that draft from our league in 2022. It's really fun to go back and look at rookie drafts. If you're in your, it's just. Najee Harris number one, Jamar Chase number two. Yeah. That's the consensus. By the way, from 2021.

Yeah, I mean, I'm just pulling up drafts and it's just, it's literally a good time. Go to your league right now. Go to your draft history and look at a couple of rookie drafts from. Because once you're three years past, you know the results. Yes. And you get to see all the stupid things we do. 2024. Redraft 2024. You got Marv number one, Neighbors 2, Adunze 3, Brock Bowers 4. Jane Daniels 8. Yep. So, yeah, there's, it happens. Which, by the way, you can do this every year with the NFL draft, and it's insanely wrong. So just be willing to kind of go against the grain if you have conviction about a player. For whatever reason, I really like Judarian Price this year, and I'm totally fine taking him ahead of Mackay Lemon based on team need, things like that. Would you do 102, though? So you're saying above Tate and Tyson? Would I? Yeah. Probably not. Okay. Actually, I would probably take Tate no matter what.

ahead of him. But if I was a team that really needed a running back, I'm fine. If you want to take, you know, if you want to take them over Tyson, I think I'm okay with that. So again, the feeling that you get coming from Jason right there is the feeling you'll get in your league. The little, I can't say anything. It doesn't help that the, I'll just, Jason and I, like, our scouting of the prospect, Judarian Price was not like, I loved that guy. Like, if we, if I saw Jonathan Taylor on the film and he goes at 32 to the Seahawks, you're like, yeah, no problem. Take him over the superstar wide receivers because that guy is going to be a superstar. It's just, it's very with the production profile and just what it, it's very difficult to see price for me, like really going on that path to superstardom. And you'll see in a year from now.

Yep. And you'll be like, oh, remember that conversation? I was so wrong. And I didn't win a championship this year in any of my leagues. I'm Mike in a year from now. That's what you'll say. Oh. That's what, that was my impression of you in a year. That's, uh, I hope, Jason. Yeah, I, we've got to get him out of here. I'm praying. Al has informed me we have a drop for Dynasty Week. Yeah, we do. I never hit us. Welcome to Dynasty Week. Man, I, I imagine that. while we talked through those mistakes that dynasty players made, nobody felt welcome to that point to Dynasty Week. And I apologize for that. That drop was necessary to welcome you in. Now you feel welcome. Yeah. We did get a little bit of news. The Jets signed Breast Hall to a three year 45. Speaking of Dynasty checking in with Jason. Yeah. Three saw manager for Dino Senior. Jay, how are you feeling? I'm feeling super sucky. This is the first time ever. First time ever where my running back signs an extension and I'm disappointed.

Yeah. It's like for Dynasty. Yeah. That is the value. We talk about it all the time. It's not even age at the running bag. It's like the contracts. So long as he's got three years. And it's it's wonderful. $45 million. Highest paid running backs on average salary. Sequin. Yeah. CMC. Brees. I mean, I'm, I'm super happy for the man who said he cried when he signed it. You know, he's gone through a lot with the ACL tear and. here he is signing because he knew he was trading success for money yeah he said he was they were happy tears but we know we know you're like ah man here's of acceptance it's the hey me me and garrett we're gonna be just making it rain but we will never win a super bowl i brought up the stinky teams they've done some stuff to the offensive line here that i'm encouraged about in new york for bris hall he's managed to be productive for fantasy in spite of

his surroundings. I mean, they know Jason believes club next to future MVP. They have so many talented skill position players now that if you if you bring a quarterback in here, they should be able to move the ball. We got to get Dante Moore there. So all my Dante more cards are still. Okay. The same color. Okay. The Charger, is that an Oregon, Dante Moore? It's close enough. Okay. The Chargers are signing David Najoku to a one-year deal with up to $8 million. They also signed Charlie Kohler to a three-year deal on free agency. Polar's the blocker. Yes, but takes up a spot. Nojoku, it's weird how to do this because the initial, my initial reaction is, well, there we go. This dude's a stud. Sorry.

Gadsden and the Gadsden truthers. That was a nice month we had last year. That was my initial thought. And then, and then you're just waiting more of like. Fanon succeeded on the same field with Nogoku. Well, and Fanon was better. I agree that. Fanon was better. Nijoku had to wait until May to get a one year deal. He's at the tail end. It's just it, there's, if you're on team Gadsden, I wouldn't abandon all. hope yet there's there's a chance that then a joku is about to be washed the joku turns 30 any minute now and he's he's not washed i don't i don't think he is washed like his physique but he's play certainly impacts gadston on a redraft level like i had gadsden as one of my number one tight-in targets later in the draft i mean he would have been a breakout for us guaranteed in the udk without nojoku getting signed but now it's like who is the

higher targeted tight end on this team. Nojoku or Gadsden in 2026. I actually have Gadsden with more targets than Nogoku. I just think it's a, it's a ceiling wrecker for Gadsden. Yeah. And they have other weapons there. They're going to run the ball more successfully this year. I was already going out on a limb that Gadsden would be able to, like, the thing about Njoku coming in is he is an, like, he is a good tight end with a ton of experience. Gadsden is a young titan with not a lot of experience. And I feel like the way this team, the little things are going to matter. And I feel like Naju is going to do those things on a weekend and week out basis. I think that was part of why Naji got brought in last year. It was the exact same type of signing. Now, Naji went down with a major injury. But I think that's what you would have seen through the year is a little bit more trust on the veterans because they do the little things, even when we want to see the young guy flourish. And that's my concern about Gadsden. And also the other...

part of that equation with the chargers is for the wide receivers they are clearly the charges are loading up here and we're going to see you know a lot of like the later end of uh of miami where it's a lot of tight ends on the field because they have great wide receivers or it yeah they're pretty good we'll call them pretty good but very interesting players uh and more than likely you're only going to see two of them on the field for a more snaps than the average of the NFL. So it's how do you, us figuring out who those two guys are going to be over the course of training camp. I mean, automatically, you're talking about the wide outs or the tight ends? No, the wide outs. And it's like, yeah, well, it's going to be huge and it's going to be lad. Probably, but I don't know that, I don't know that that's a definite answer. Well, what's the other name? Well, Trey Harris. Yeah, I mean, that doesn't.

You're not taking a lad off the field for Trey Harris very often. But if you're talking two outside wide receivers, maybe they come in and they like Harris on the outside better. And then Brennan Thompson will be worked in as their speedster. He quote whatever. The guy who looks like Tyree kill, he's just 20 pounds lighter? Lighter than Tyree kills. And then the Keenan will show up. Right. Right after training camp. Joanne Jennings, one year deal with the Vikings worth up to $13 million. Took them a while to sign. 8 million in base salary. Added, you know, this is good for whoever placed quarterback in Minnesota. There you go. I don't really, I mean, it doesn't change my opinion of Jefferson. It doesn't really change my opinion of Addison. They've had KJ. Osborne there before, have, you know, make significant contributions when both those guys are there. To me, this is their, you know, they brought Adam Thielen back for a small amount of time.

It's a good third receiver to add to this team. And considering that Hawkinson, isn't Hawkinson anymore? Oh, correct. Like, Hawkinson used to represent a ton of volume in the offense. I think he does not anymore. So, you know, I don't know if Jennings, like this signing kind of means very little to me, as dumb as that is. I think it's great for Minnesota. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. And speaking of JJ McCarthy, I guess we're reporting that Tom Pell is Sarah Mike's favorite guy. KJ. or J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray will compete for the starting job this summer. Holloway is reporting Kyler will then win that job. Yeah. Because the team wants to win games. It is the most likely thing. But how hilarious? How hilarious would it be? I mean, Mike is rooting for the hilarity of it. I am. Well, because it's also better for Minnesota. If J.J. McCarthy truly wins the job? It is. And they're like,

something clicked. He's the guy we thought he was going to be when we took him in the first round. And then you have your future as opposed to Kyler where it's your team, Minnesota will be better with Kyler. They'll probably make the playoffs. But can they win with him? I don't know. As in a Super Bowl. If I told you they're changing quarterbacks after week five, what order is the best? Oh. For who's for fantasy? The order would. Sure. For fantasy, starting McCarthy and then putting Murray in, I think is better for fantasy. I would agree with that. I also think that's better for the Vikings as a franchise. Because if, if Kyler starts week one, that means that McCarthy did not win the job. Right. And if he doesn't win the job just out the gates, you know, it's not going to go well. It is a, it's a wild one because like,

Like you said, it would be hilarious at McCarthy won, but then he's got to go win games. Yep. Which he did not look like he knew how to do very much last year. Now that Kyler is free of the Cardinals, I do expect a Super Bowl. Yeah, I mean, this is, I think you were out on the show that we kind of, we debated Kyler a lot because we did a bunch of rank check stuff, and I have Kyler fairly low. Like, I think he's good for the team, but I don't think he's going to produce like old Kyler at all.

I think he's going to be more of a manager that has some success. And I just, for me, I was trying to point out to Jason how long we've watched a bad Kyler. We've watched a pretty bad player for quite a while. I don't know what side, where he ended up in your rankings. I think I have him pretty close to his ADP. Which is. I would have to pull that up. Now I'm talking to me while my arms are sold. Why are you closing your rankings? Why are you closing? You got tabs, man. You ever use tabs? I got things to do over here, man. What do you watch Netflix? Keep your rankings up. I got to catch up, man. I got a check on them. You guys are always like, hey, have you seen how far this show is? I'm like, I haven't started it yet. Also, another hot tip is you say stuff while you're looking and you don't even tell people you're looking. You just go like, yeah, I'll tell you what I like about that, Kyler Murray. By the way, you remember that one game where you threw that Hail Mary, Boob, boom, and then you got them. I got them at 15.

Jason has him at like 10. I got him at like 20. So yeah, that's about right for Kyler. 10, 15, 20. Yeah, no one knows really what's going to happen. We're going to take a break and then we're going to talk some trades. Let's talk trades. One trade four candidate for dynasty managers, one tradeaway candidate for dynasty managers from each of us. Right before we recorded this show, we had spent some concerted time attempting to come together. and find some consensus sleepers breakouts bust some values for the udk as we do every year we did get you know get some names out there guys that we agree on completely but i think for maybe i think the first time in a while like we had some pretty drastically different opinions like it wasn't like hey i'm high on this guy and i'm neutral it was like i'm high on him and i'm super low on him so it'll be interesting because i think some of the names that we bring up today

We have differing opinions. Who wants to go first on the trade four candidate? I'll kick it off because we kind of mentioned him earlier this episode already. The trade four candidate that I like, I think he is not valued in this moment where he should be valued is Harold Fanon Jr. tight end for the Cleveland Browns who was absolutely awesome last year. Harold Fanon Jr., He was this collegiate athlete that he didn't play at the biggest program, had a lot of production, didn't blow you away on film, but had so much work in the passing game, broke so many tackles, it just kind of, it always worked for him. And, you know, I said last year, I'm going to bet on it working because I just really believed in him. Then he comes to the NFL. He's playing behind David Najoku, and he is.

Awesome. He's way better than David Adjoku. He was statistically better than Tyler Warren, better than Loveland. Like, his rookie season was awesome. He was the tight end five last year with Shador Sanders. And in this moment, I think that people are not very high on him because you just had the Browns spend, you know, two top 40 picks on wide receivers. So you're like, oh, no, now he's, now he's losing out. But the wide receivers aren't really competing with Fanon, I don't believe, for the targets in the same area of the field, not to the degree that David Najoku was. You know, losing Najoku and gaining rookie wide receivers to me allows Fanon to lead this team in targets. He might not, but he certainly has a path where he could. I expect Fanon to be very, very involved. I expect him to lead this team in targets. And where he's going in drafts, I mean, you think about,

when you have a young stud tight end they are so valuable in dynasty you can't pry a brock bowers from the cold dead hands of the manager who has them that's impossible right now lovelin and warren rigamortis that's why yeah yeah that is that is why um it has nothing to do with fanon um You know, Warren and Loveland, you just, there's no way you're getting these guys in a dynasty league. But Fanon's available. If you just look at like startup ADP, you're looking at like obviously, you know, Brock and the first and McBride in the second, Warren in the third. Late fifth is like where Fanon is going right now. And I think you can, I think you can get a hold of him. I think people are willing to, to trade him away. And he is so young. This, I mean.

He's so young that he had the most. How young is he? It hit me the same way. My point was, I was throwing this stat out. Mama, so. To give you an example of how young he is, he had the most receptions ever for a tight end before turning 22. He is a baby boy. He's going to be good for a long time. Is the quarterback situation great? No. Did they just bring in two wide receivers? Yes, but these are the reasons why you can acquire Fanon. If Fanon is just that dude and they figure out a quarterback, maybe not this year, maybe next year. But you're going to have six plus years of Fanon being very relevant for fantasy. Yeah, I feel like maybe we, I don't think we hold the quarterback situation to so much scrutiny when it's the tight ends. I feel like you look at Concepcion in Boston and you want to see them have a breakout year.

Maybe that's not in the cards because you don't believe in Shadour. But like last year, in a year where Fanon had success, it was a lot of Dylan Gabriel, right? And you had some Joe Flacco mixed in. And then you had Shadour Sanders, the Pro Bowler. And, you know, Jerry Judy was still out there soaking up targets and he's still on this team. So, and the joke who was there. So, yeah, I think Fanon, I think the most compelling thing is just how much room there is for him to. to grow and how much time you'll probably get in productivity for a dynasty roster. Yeah, whenever you've got someone that young who is productive in college who comes to the NFL and at that age is that productive in the NFL, he's good. Just bet on the talent. The longevity of the Browns and what the situation is around him, that's going to change, but he is super talented. Would you rather have Loveland and Warren?

I think I would rather have Loveland and Warren, yes, but you can't really trade for those guys. And I think that Fanon could be completely at the end of the year. I think he's more, I'm with you, that you can acquire Fanon much easier. Oh yeah. Yeah. I mean, I guess I was even thinking like if you. I think at the end of the year it is not impossible. Would you trade Warren? Sure. Like Warren for Fanon and a first next year. Right. I would do that. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Mike, do you want to. Tell us who you're trading for. Are we going all three trade four? You tell me. What's the rules? Who's hosting this show? I'm going to go with my tradeaway. Oh, are you? Well, I don't want it to just be like the end of the show is just, this guy stinks. I like it. All right. My tradeaway, he doesn't stink, but we're playing Dynasty Football or Dynasty Fantasy Football. I'm going to DJ Moore, new wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills as my tradeaway candidate. He's 29.
