The Veterans Day skeleton crew maps a split holiday

The hosts work because they did not know how Veterans Day was observed while their children stay home. Kyle answers remotely from Georgia, where school is open, and the studio invokes Jeremy and Al as trusted authorities during a confused stock-market fact-check.

moment

Papa Josh hangs Nico over Jason's head

During Jason and Papa Josh's League of Record matchup, Josh places an image of inactive Nico Collins directly above Jason. Josh laughs when Jason discovers it; Jason calls him a snake but says Josh's terrible team is the only reason his own failed roster may still win.

moment

Monday Punday is eighty percent misery

After soliciting Sunday-night listener entries, the show estimates an 80–20 negative split and reads a dense good-and-bad board including Awesome Ekeler, Jamour Chase, Chuba Hubba Hubba, Silence of the Lamb, CD Sham, Aaron Fraudgers, Dalton Decade, Jared Gawful, Malik Waivers, and Bad McConkey.

moment

The Gnome Zone refuses to leave Jason

Jason still finds pieces of a white beard after cleaning all morning. The hosts say he remains in the Gnome Zone and call it the punishment that keeps on going because new fibers continue to appear.

moment

Mike installs red-zone curtains and refuses to spare Jerry Jones

CeeDee Lamb's sun-blinded miss prompts a Jerry Jones rant and a button-blind proposal: lower curtains for Dallas, then raise them when the opponent has the ball. The desk imagines questioning an 82-year-old in a nursing home, repeats Jones's 'Where's the moon?' response, tells Mike by name to lay off, and Mike refuses.

moment

Kyle's Bijan 30-plus call lands exactly

Kyle supplies a live Tyler Allgeier EPA rank during an argument, then receives a shout-out because his bold call predicted Bijan Robinson's first career 30-plus DraftKings game and it happened. The hosts broaden the celebration to the whole crew's outrageous prop performance.

moment

Brooks turns the host into Ron Burgundy

A host reads from the show document that MVS plays for Buffalo, is corrected that he plays for New Orleans, and says his brain became jelly because he trusted the document. The desk discovers Brooks wrote the outdated Bills note, after the host describes himself as Ron Burgundy reading whatever appears.

summary

Episode notes

The Veterans Day show opens as a skeleton crew because the hosts did not understand how the holiday would be observed and their children are home. Kyle joins by microphone from Georgia, where school is in session; the desk then defers to Jeremy and Al during a chaotic live check of whether the stock exchange is open. Monday Punday returns after a public call for submissions, with an 80–20 negative split and player mutations including Awesome Ekeler, Jamour Chase, Chuba Hubba Hubba, Silence of the Lamb, CD Sham, Aaron Fraudgers, Dalton Decade, and Malik Waivers; submissions are invited each Sunday on Instagram and X. Papa Josh weaponizes the cast's own fantasy stakes by putting an absent Nico Collins image directly above Jason during their League of Record matchup, laughing as Jason calls him a snake and thanks Josh's terrible team for keeping the result survivable. A prior Gnome Zone punishment is still physically present as Jason finds white beard fibers after cleaning all morning. The title story turns CeeDee Lamb's sun-blinded missed touchdown into Mike's sustained Jerry Jones grievance: the hosts imagine button-controlled red-zone curtains that rise only for the opponent, compare the 82-year-old owner to a nursing-home resident under questioning, and repeatedly use Jones's 'Where's the moon?' line; when told by name to lay off, Mike refuses. Kyle later receives credit for a successful first-career-30-point Bijan Robinson call as the whole crew's props are celebrated. Brooks supplies the closing production error by writing that MVS plays for Buffalo in the shared document, causing a host to read it verbatim, become brain jelly, and call himself Ron Burgundy.

Rico was looking pretty good. Yeah, not to his fault. And then they got down to the goal line. Then they brought in Zeke. Mike's freaking out. Why are you bringing in Zeke? And then Zeke fumbles it into the insom. Some fumbles are like little subtle fumbles. Others are like egregious embarrassments. And this ball just flew for like a bomb. Look, Rico's not going to have success on this roster for the same reasons that Lamb might not have success. and Ferguson, if you're not near the red zone, you're going to have a lot of 12 for 53s from this offense. My point on Rico was the guy was running really, really hot. And then you give Zeke the ball and you fumble into the end zone. And then they're like, well, we're kind of done running the ball now. It was, I don't know, it was a complete mismanagement of a roster. Well, yeah, they're going to be that for a while. Houston, Washington, the Jets coming up, or the Giants coming up.

57:27 ↗

It was a down game for Sequin. It happens. He had an early injury to his forearm, didn't miss much time. Jalen Hertz was running wild. Washington, Los Angeles, Baltimore coming up. Don't worry about him. C.D. Lamb, 6 for 21. This is wild. It's C.D. Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Devante Adams, Garrett Wilson, DeVantza Smith. Brian Thomas, Jr. I mean... Tank Dell. Zay Flowers. It's like all. A lot of big names. Top tier wide receivers. What's crazy about the duds to me is not only are the top tier wide receivers, you know, but with the exception of like Devante Smith, most of these guys, C.D. Lamb had 10 targets. Justin Jefferson had nine targets. Devante Adams had 13 targets. Tankdale had nine targets. These guys were actually involved in the game. It's still pooped in their big boy pants. Yeah, that's why I didn't find a lot of puns this week that were.

58:22 ↗

Yeah, I don't know what to say about Tank Dell at this point. I mean, I was looking at his catch percentage is the exact same as it was last year, not scoring. They've missed some big plays, and something's just not clicking week to week every week. I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's, I mean, same play caller, same quarterback, same opportunities. I have to hold out hope that once Nico is back, he should be okay with no digs. He should be okay. But if they don't throw the ball as much because they do have success on the ground, that's your variable. Is DJ more dead? Yes. How many games inside the top 30 this year? Got to be one. Who no? Yeah, it's one. Is he done? I don't think, I mean, I don't think his career is done. No, for this year. Is he done for this year? Like, do you cut him? Oh, my gosh. Is that a bomb your drive? Is that like a landmine you're leaving on the waiver wire? That would be the shiniest landmine.

59:22 ↗

Yeah, you still have the, I mean, there's going to be a game rest of season where DJ Moore goes ham. Two touchdowns, 150 yards, that will happen. So if I see him on waivers and I'm a needy team, I'd be happy to pick him up and throw him in my lineup as opposed to, you know, a DeMarcus Robinson I'm trying to get. However, if you're starting him on a weekly basis, you're going to get dud after dud after dud because Caleb Williams of the Bears offense under Shane Waldron is they're not. good at all and it's split. You have Keenan Allen involved in the target share. Sometimes he's going to Cole Commet. You've got O'Donze. There is certainly not enough to go around for, there's not enough to go around for two players in a game, let alone four. So, so we saw a special year from DJ more last year, but the rest of his career has been.

60:18 ↗

underwhelming in terms of consistency. But not this bad. Is it possible? No, not quite, but he's wide receiver 32 on the year. Before last year's wide receiver 6, he was 2219, 2218. Is it possible that last year was the anomaly of the career of DJ Moore? We have at this point seven seasons. I think one season that delivered. Last year was the only the second time that DJ Moore has had a competent quarterback. It's funny because you have a competent, like Justin Fields last year wasn't, like an unbelievable pastor. He just, it was, Fields had a competent year. Yeah, it was okay. Obviously not competent enough to stay a starter in the NFL. Right. But I, you, you have always had, um, DJ Moore compared to Terry McLaren because they're really talented wide receivers without very similar play. And then if they got good quarterback play, they'd be great.

61:15 ↗

And then coming into this year, you thought DJ Moore got the great quarterback in the future, you know, first ballot Hall of Famer and Caleb Williams. And Jaden Daniels was the rushing mobile quarterback that's good for fantasy, but might not be able to sling it. And it turns out Terry McLaurin got the good quarterback. And it's been great. And Zizia Moore seems so frustrated. Would you rather have more on your roster or Jordan Addison on your roster or both on waivers? Oh, man. Another down game for Addison. Yeah, I would say neither. Especially with Hawkinson back, it would be hard to trust Addison rest of season. Cade, Otten, Dalton, Kincaid, Evan Ingram, and Jake Ferguson disappointed this week. Otten started hot in this game. I think he had four catches, like right away, and then it was just, it was gone. San Francisco took him away, and then that was a good strategy because they didn't have anybody else to do much of anything outside of Rashad White. Kincaid's season has basically been a wash.

62:16 ↗

now he's hurt got a buy week coming up after Kansas City I mean he may he's probably going to miss next week then the buy then he has to play San Francisco Dalton Kincaid is not shouldn't be part of your future championship plans correct no no he shouldn't then Evan Ingram hasn't been able to get it done to the degree that we had hoped and if Lawrence is out that's a concern yeah I mean I think what Evan Ingram did this last week is what you're going to have a lot more of he had eight targets caught six of them six of them for 40 yards

62:45 ↗

It's not a goose. You know, a lot of tight ends are going to go out there and goose you. But that's not what you're hoping for in Evan Ingram. Certainly with the injuries at the wide receiver, you thought he might do one of those in Joku type of runs that you saw at the end of last year. He's not going to do that this year with Mack Jones. Okay. And Jake Ferguson's season could be kind of toast too. Could be. So there are other tight ends. I would say it is. Well, there are other tight ends we'll talk about tomorrow that you can look to. I mean, all of a sudden, Johnny Smith's starting to become, if he does something tonight, he's looking pretty good. He's going to be one of the top names to make sure you pick up and replace some of these guys that you thought you had. So we'll talk about it. I think that'll do it. We've got waivers tomorrow, so we'll talk about it then. And again, thank you to the veterans out there for your sacrifice, keeping us safe, defending our rights. And we'll catch you tomorrow. That is it.

63:45 ↗

We did it. We worked on a holiday, boys. Let's not do it again. Just like the men and women in Georgia. Goodbye, everybody.
