Fantasy Football Podcast 2016 - Week 8 Matchups, In-or-Out, Garbage Bortles

That's my take. Fair. Sunday night football, Eagles, Cowboys. I've got to be honest, I'm super excited about this game. Super excited. Two teams that have played well this year, competitive division, Prescott, wins. Yeah. The matchup everyone expected. Des Bryant's return. Most, you know, it looks like it'll happen. Look, the Cowboys are favorite. I think the Cowboys win this game.

And I actually really like the Cowboys defense in this matchup. I've seen some regression from Wince, you know, maybe some teams adjusting, seeing some game film. Yeah, you got that tape. So some mistakes were made last week by Carson Wins. And I think, look, the Cowboys defense is good. The Eagles defense is good. I would play them both. But I'm excited to see this matchup how it breaks down. What are the fantasy narratives you guys see? I agree that I think this is an exciting NFL game.

But there's not a lot of guys that I actually want to start from this game. Elliot is an automatic start. I personally am okay streaming deck. Elliot. I'm okay streaming Dak Prescott. I know the Eagles. Jason loves them as a defense. I just think that DAC is safe when it comes to fantasy at this point. Dallas is not wide receiver one. I'm okay playing him. And I might be. And who is that? Well, I'm getting to it. I might be okay playing Des Bryant as well.

I completely agree with what you're saying. He's talking about Beasles. Yeah, I know. We should just say it because Mike's ridiculous. Everyone knows who it is. All right. Look, no, Cole. Wait, wait, everyone knows who it is, but you say Beasles for those who don't know who it is. I assumed you would. I assume you would take that as an introduction into just talking about the player, Cole Beasley. Look, Cole Beasley is safe. If you're in a PPR and half point PPR, he is a safe, low and wide receiver two.

Yeah, I guess he's okay. I don't like a lot of the options here. I like Ezekiel Elliott and Beasley, if you need a safe flex option to try to get you eight, nine points. I would rather play Des this week. That's going to say, let's say you have survived the Des Bryant apocalypse because you have found good options to plug in a wide receiver.

Are you willing to throw Des Bryant in over those decent options? That's an easy question. Does Bryant, Will Fuller? What would you do there? Will Fuller? Yeah, I think the matchup is juicy. Will Fuller's shown that he's destroyed. That's a great question. We have them, consensus-wise, 18 and 20. Fuller ahead? Fuller behind. Dez 18, Fuller 20. But, I mean, that illustrates.

That's about the range where, you know, Des Bryant or Devonza Adams. I'll go Des there. Okay. Des or Terrell Pryor. Oh. Yeah, those are some of tough one. Those are tough questions this week. Right now, the way that things are leaning, I think Terrell Pryorier should have a good game. Yeah, go prior. All right. All right. Let's talk about the Monday night football matchup. We've got Vikings and Bears.

Yes. Oh, my. Yes. Um, the Bears offense. Very good. Not good. Not good. Scored 9.4 points per game this year. Um, but, but they smoke stack is back. Yeah. And they're playing a bad, and they're playing against a really, uh, a really bad defense. So you got a good offense against a bad defense. Oh, wait. Are you like layering sarcasm on this? Nobody's going to understand how in the world we're analyzing this game. Uh, look, the Bears offense is things bad.

The Vikings defense is great. Stay away. I would still be willing to play Alshan Jeffrey because Cutler is there. I think that he's going to see eight, nine, ten targets. He's the only player that I would start in this entire bear side. The one disgusting thing I will throw out from this game, because we were talking about Philip Rivers. Another name I'll throw out that I am okay starting over him, Sam Bradford.

I would play him over Phillip Rivers this week. Yeah, yeah, I would as well. I thought for a second you were going with Cutler and my brain was about to explode. 41 point over under in this game, I am taking the under by a lot. I don't think this is a high scoring game. I think you've got a Monday night football game here that, you know, the Bears defense has been just fine. You saw the Vikings off in struggle. Diggs is either not healthy or just not producing.

McKinnon might miss the game. I mean, I think this game is a... Keep your hands off. I'm playing Oziatta. I'm playing Kyle Rudolph. A terrible not wanting to stream, but in a very pinch, I might look at Bradford and Alshon Jeffrey. Other than that, I'm away from this game. And with those options, I don't expect huge things. I'm not putting out Kyle Rudolph thinking, oh, good, I've got a top three tight end. I'm putting out Kyle Rudolph thinking, someone has to...

do something. Breaking news. All right, Adam Schefter reporting that LaShawn McCoy is now doubtful. Oh. So that means he most certainly won't play until the next report in 10 minutes. No, but doubtful. Okay, so now we have an inch forward in knowledge here. Is gillously you're confident there? Yes, I would be far more confident. Doubtful means that he is trending towards a under 50% chance of playing. So that's at least good for clarification.

Heal up, shady. The last thing I wanted to throw out on the Minnesota game before we move on is I'm not playing him this week, but this is a, this is, I'm watching Stefan Diggs very closely to see if he can actually get things going. Yeah, you have Cordor L. Patterson, who's probably going to be out. Also, officially ruled out was Marquise Goodwin in the Cuccia Protocol. So you're Justin Hunter.

I mean, he's got some matchups coming up in the playoffs that I just love. I think he's going to have monster games at Win You Weeks. He's got plenty of times that I'm going to sit him and put mediocre players ahead of him because I don't like the matchup or especially on the road. I really like the roller coaster analogy. I mean, because...

You're saying at the end of the ride, you're happy you got on, but there's probably parts of that ride you're throwing up a little bit. Yeah, that's exactly right. You got some ups, you got some downs, but it's going to be fun. He's going to be good, but you've got to make sure that you open your eyes at the right moments and you close your eyes at the right moments. Yeah, like open them for the 87-yard touchdowns every other week. Yeah. There's not many players in the league where you look at him, you go, okay, well, on this week, he could be anywhere from a wide receiver one to a wide receiver four. I mean, that's the range of outcomes for Brandon Cooks.

maybe there's a glimmer of hope that something breaks his way and it's okay. But I look at this trade basically Chris and Michael for Jordy Nelson. As do I. So whenever you've got a running back for a wide receiver, I lean. If all things are the same, I'm going to keep the running back because they're harder to come by. You can't replace them as easily on the waiver wire. But if you are stacked, I mean, if Chris and Michael is your fourth running back,

uh in certain weeks and and you've got a hole at wide receiver then then sure i i still believe in jordy nelson i'm not off jordy nelson in the slightest and i would i'm a gambler so i would i would ride it out i'd let see mike go torch the saints for another two touchdowns and say the price has gone up and go get a higher tiered guy than nelson all right final question steve in desert he's in the desert right now all right looking at your rankings steve and burning man

Looking at your rankings, right, two of the three of you have Ryan Fitzpatrick ranked ahead of Russell Wilson. You're darn it right. I'm sure I'm one of them. By the rankings, he says you're telling me if you have Russell Wilson as you're starting quarterback, you would drop a player to go get Fitzgerald for this week. That's not what I'm saying. Good, good. I didn't, nowhere in the rankings do we say drop a player. Although, I mean, you have, if you have Lamar, you can't drop Alfred Blue at this point. He's already banged up. Cory Coleman.

Because of the two players he would have to drop to get Fitzpatrick. Look, the way that the rankings break down is how we see this week playing out. It doesn't necessarily mean, look, you have to put guys in an order, right? It's not like there's 10 quarterbacks that are number one and 10 quarterbacks that are ranked number two, and that's it. You have to put guys in an order. So the difference between Fitzpatrick and Russell Wilson might be small. Something that you can happily withstand because you'd rather have Russell Wilson for the rest of the season. You don't want to make roster adjustments.

But we're saying we believe Ryan Fitzpatrick has a very good week. He was Jason's stream of the week. He was my start of the week. We think Fitzpatrick is on, you know, with the matchup with Cleveland, looks good. Yeah. I still think Russell Wilson has a good week. Yeah, I would say, I'm the most concerned about Russell Wilson. I don't think he destroys your team this week. I think he's a fine, you know, I don't know where I had. I could look up where I have. You have him 16. I have him 13, and he has him 6. Which it could be, that's fine.

That's still a playable quarterback the way it rolls out. I think that Fitzpatrick's ceiling is much higher this weekend. So maybe you need that ceiling and dropping Cor Coleman is the right move to make. And that's why I wouldn't drop. You know what? Let's just do this. Since he's, since he's got Russell Wilson already, we will officially declare Russell Wilson. The sit of the week. For him? For him. Because that's quite an honor. If we declare it and we haven't done it yet, but I think we need to.

Let's declare it so that Russell Wilson can just go off. Get this season going. He can torch the New Orleans Saints. So Russell Wilson. Do you think that wherever Russell? Our official sit of the week. Do you think that wherever he is right now when you said that, I'm picturing the brace exploding off of his knee and just he has been healed.
