All right, the truth about tight ends. And just to review real quick, I know Jason mentioned it, but here's our breakdown. Great games are more than 15 points because on average that put you at about a top three. Good games are more than nine points. It's about a top 10 finish on average. And the bus games are fewer than seven points. Generally, that puts you outside of the top.

I mean, the tight end position is one of those where when you stream, that's what you're looking for is who's got the matchup and the body, you know, size and utilization in their office to just get a touchdown that game. Yeah, one for one for one yard.

And a touchdown. And then you've, you've done it. Yeah, you got the tight end points that you need. You streamed successfully. And start at the top. Rob Grancowski, number one, however, consistency rank number two. Oh, what a loser. I bet you're disappointed. Oh, Rob Grunkowski. Man, you're embarrassing. That's embarrassing. 14 games. While he was only, oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, do, do, do, do.

It's funny because when you look at tight ends, there were, there were only five tight ends this season who had a bust rate under 40%.

Meaning like, that's five guys. This is why I said it's terrible. It's all you could have. Otherwise, you're busting at least more than 40%. However, there were three guys, Gronk being one of them, that actually had a pretty low bust rate. Grunk only busted 23% of the time. So those games that really kind of hurt you, you are fine taking that less than a quarter of the time percentage chance to have a, and this is what's insane about Gronk. Yes.

A 54% chance at having one of those weeks that finishes basically as a top three. Over 15 fantasy points. We call that redoncule. We call that regronculous. Yes. We got there. That is very gronculous. But to have a great week winning type performance more than half the time, that's why we were very bullish on gronk coming into this season. Oh, for the price? Yeah, for the price. You could get them, you know.

finished first in our league, then we go to the playoffs. And he was a big dummy, and he put that hit. Yeah. And he had to get a suspension. And he got suspended for the week where then we go out. And I'm sure everyone who had grunk went out that week. So number two, Travis Kelsey and Travis Kelsey, while he's number two in the fantasy finish, he was point nine points behind gronk. So he was really one B. Consistency rank, however, number three.

Not bad by any stretch, but he's not number two. He did not do's deuce. No, you know, what you need to realize, though, one thing to keep in mind. So our consistency scores, they're injury agnostic, meaning it's only when you played, how were you? Because if you really didn't play that game, like for instance, that's why we take, you know, the week 17 away from Grong, nobody started him in that week. So he didn't actually hurt you.

You can make the argument that, well, sure he did because you had to find someone else. But Kelsey played 15 games, whereas Gronk played 13 games. So 1A1B is not really the case. I would say he was a firm second place here, but he was definitely good. Got off to a slower start this season, if you remember in a week one.

He had a week that was disappointing. Every tight end out there had a disappointing week one. And then week three, he had another bad week. So he was a guy that some people were able to acquire early on and really helped your season. From that point on, he was pretty much a stud. They utilized him in ways that we had been hoping and dreaming. Well, not just.

They utilized him in ways that you were pushing heavy in the last off season where his, he only had, what was the four touchdowns in 2016, but his opportunities for scoring plays did not match the four touchdowns. And you had, you were calling for a big time touchdown. I had gone back and watched every, every single one of the.

10 zone anywhere every single target and utilization that they had for kelsey inside the 10 zone and it it was a clear indicator that look he is used some of those things he should have had probably three more touchdowns on fluke plays down at the one type plays or just dropped a pass in the end zone so

while the narrative before the season was that Kelsey's great, but he's not really a touchdown option, I think that completely has to go away, not just based on this year, not just based on the fact that, well, he had a lot of touchdowns this year, but based on the year prior where he should have had more, even with that utilization. Again, we kind of brought this up in the beginning. If Pat Mahomes takes over, maybe it's better. Right. I would assume year one, it's going to be worse. Travis Kelsey.

was tied for ninth with 20 red zone targets. I'll take that. And that's of receivers. I'm not talking about tight ends. Yeah. Receivers. That's great. So he was utilized. He was fantastic. Number three. Number one in my heart. Mr. Zach. Zach Hertz. Consistency rank of number two. A fantastic breakout year. 74 for 8224. Eight touchdowns 110.

It's Gronk on his own tier, and then from that point on, what I care about with tight ends, if I'm going to pay capital,

is not your big blowup games. It's how often do you not suck? Because if I'm paying capital, if I'm paying capital for a tight end, I'm probably playing him every week. I'm not going to bench him in a bad matchup. I'm probably just going to, you know, play him. I don't want a roster two tight ends if I spent up on a tight end. And that's why I love Zach Gertz because his bust rate is so low because he's really a PPR guy. He's a possession receiver. And going forward with Carson Wince,

Yes, and they're, they're all delightful. Yeah. Now, Zach Ertz averaged about 59 receiving yards per game, put him at third for tight ends. It was a great season, but where is Zachert's going to go in the draft and?

Add on top of that, you have some concerns for Carson Wentz returning from such a late season ACL tear. Will Zach Ertz be a love of your life coming in the next season? Of course, very early. Sure. I have no worries of my worries for Wince is the fantasy production he's going to lose from running the ball because it's so ridiculously valuable for quarterbacks when it shouldn't be.
