to the fantasy footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Hello. Hello, it's Labor Day. It is Monday, September 7th, and this is a labor of love, and so we are here. Yeah, because we're working. No breaks today. At least no cut. We weren't cut. We were like the three guys that were not cut. Jason was on the bubble.

2:45 ↗

But congratulations for making it through. Made it to 75. Wow. Wow. You are the Jared Hane of the podcast. Yeah, we are here. There's way too much going on. There's way too much excitement about the regular season, which is coming up. Three days to football. No, it's incredible. It's awesome. Three days. Yeah. And there have been a lot of cuts. All the teams had to get down to 53.

3:11 ↗

And so we are here breaking down the news. We've got a mailbag show today. We're going to go through a bunch of questions. Some of those are week one questions. So I'm super excited about that. Now, we are just coming off of an auction draft. Last night, all three of us participated in a 12-man auction draft where Jason was the auctioneer. How was that experience? It was the worst experience. I tell you what, I have never in my life done an auction draft while being

3:41 ↗

the auctioneer. It was offline, right? So we didn't use the online tools. We did offline and I had to announce everything. We had a couple guys on speakerphone so, you know, because they couldn't be there in person. And so I talked for five hours straight. And all the while, I hadn't, I mean, I just couldn't track my own team because I'm nonstop going bid, bid, bid, bid, bid at one point. You didn't even eat your dinner. I know. And it was delicious. Raising Keynes right next to me. I know. And it stayed there.

4:10 ↗

But at one point, I remember I offered up Duke Johnson, and I had Isaiah Crowell. So right, just such a great pick to offer up. You know what was amazing is that I didn't even know at that point. This is how distracted I was from my team that I had Isaiah Crowell. I didn't know my own roster. That was... Our plan worked. My brain had become spaghetti with being the auctioneer. So I will never again be the auctioneer.

4:37 ↗

Add an auction draft that I am participating. Pro tip for the Footclan. Know who your roster is while you're drafting. Yes, it was very funny. I can't say that I'm super happy with, I'm pretty happy with my team. I can't say I was super happy with my experience during the auction draft. Because if you've been in an auction, a live auction that's not done, you know, with the tools or on ESPN or someplace, it takes a while. And...

5:04 ↗

I spent all of my money in a little 10-minute segment, LaShawn McCoy, Levy on Bell, Julio Jones, Jeremy Macklin, and then I had almost nothing left and mostly walked around for the next two and a half hours while I was waiting for $1 bids to be available. And my max bid for like an hour was like $5. That's all I could bid with my budget. And so I just bid $5 on everybody that was brought up and never got any of them. And it was a different experience.

5:32 ↗

Yeah, it was entertaining. You entertained us, Andy. Yes, yes. So, quick question for the day. What player benefited the most from the cuts that took place this weekend? So that's a little different. It's not what's the biggest cut. It's who benefited the most from these guys that got cut. And we're going to go through them in the news section. But does somebody jump out at you? I mean, I've got ideas myself. The guy who comes to the front of my head is Lagart Blunt.

5:59 ↗

The, myself, and there was quite a, quite a few others in the fantasy community of some sleeper height building on Jonas Gray. Maybe he can take the job if he has a great week one with Blunt suspended. But that didn't go so well because Jonas Gray is no longer on the team. So clearly they're, they're invested with Blunt as the one and two down back. I'm going to go with, and I know that this isn't a cut.

6:26 ↗

But I still think same news, same, it was because cuts were being made. Same zies. Same zies. No, I'm going to go with Isaiah Crowell because of the trade of Terrence West. With Terrence West leaving, Isaiah Crowell, there finally becomes a little bit of clarity in the Browns. And so both Crowell and Duke Johnson, you know, it was a situation that I wanted to avoid, to be honest, because I thought all three were going to get their own starts at different points.

6:53 ↗

But now it looks like it's Crowell's team on first and second down, at least. And right now, Duke Johnson is still concussed and going through the protocol. So Crow looks pretty good. I would say that I'm going to do a little left field here. But I think Sam Bradford benefited from the cut of Tebow. I actually thought of saying him. Because Tebow was on the field and they were testing him out as the kind of two-point conversion quarterback. And I do think they're going to go for two. And Tebow is not there anymore. So I think they kind of just...

7:22 ↗

saw what Tebow did and said, wow, Bradford could probably just do that stuff or be more efficient if they need to go for two. So a little bit more points on the field for Bradford available now. Let me tell you how to follow the show. You can go to us on YouTube. You can visit our YouTube channel. All of our shows are on there. Follow us on Twitter at the FF Ballers. I haven't given out our individual handles in a while. So let me do that. Jason is at Jason FFL.

7:48 ↗

Mike is at FF Hitman, and I am at Andy Holloway if you want to follow us on Twitter. You can visit our website, the fantasy footballers.com. We've got articles. We've got the ability to submit questions directly to us on there. We're adding, we actually added a very cool feature, I think, for the upcoming season. If you are desperate for a question, you need an answer fast. We have a system set up where it will actually, if you buy a three-hour question, it will text us.

8:17 ↗

No matter where we're at, we all get a text. And we will answer your questions because we know sometimes you have desperate questions that are going on during the season, a trade question, a waiver question, or what do I do? Who do I start? We can't promise you that we'll be right about everything. Otherwise, we would be billionaires and living in Las Vegas. But we will certainly apply all of our knowledge to your question individually. I have an almanac. You do? Oh, wait a second. Did you go forward?

8:45 ↗

You're making some bad choices of how to use that then, Mike. Yeah, you're not doing what. If you give up everything, then you see how you dress. Then people are going to know that you have the gray sports. So in Back to the Future, where he went to get the Almanac, have we passed that time now? I don't know. I can't remember where that was. Every picture that's posted is fake. So of them saying, oh, it's now the future time and it's actually not. So we need to go watch the movie. Done. Done. Done deal. All right. Well.

9:13 ↗

Let me tell you guys, I've been talking a lot about shaving coming up when the ultimate draft reports are done. And I am very, very, very excited to talk to you guys about Harries because I found Harries about two weeks ago. I had been doing some research on who to use to shave. And Harries is pretty much the absolute, if you've never heard of Harriesherysharies.com, they are the best.

9:39 ↗

quality blades at the cheapest price because shaving can be a pain i feel like right now you either have to get really really cheap crappy blades that destroy your face and make me want to hate my life ow or you can you're forced into buying those like crazy you know it's 32 dollars for an eight pack of blades and and it's just ridiculous and you got to go to the store and ask somebody to open up the cabinet and all of that no more of that

10:03 ↗

Harry's, they like their blades so much. They found these high-quality blades being built in Germany. They bought the entire factory out, and they've got a starter set that is $15. You get a razor, you get moisturizing shave cream, three razor blades.

10:19 ↗

And you can use a promo code for us, the footballers, use the promo code footballers, and you get $5 off your first deal. I just ordered this a few days ago, do what I am doing, and go to harries.com, and Harries will give you $5 off. If you type in our coupon code footballers, that's harries.com coupon code footballers for $5 off, $10 for a pack that will last you probably two months. News and notes from around the league. That is good stuff. I will be ordering that as well.

10:53 ↗

I would rather not rip my neck up when I shave. That would be good. All right, let's talk about the pile of fantasy news that is going on. So major cuts, I'm going to read them off, and you guys can kind of give me just a tidbit of him, you know, your perspective on them. But Tim Tebow is cut, Monte Ball, Reggie Wayne, Hakeem Nix. The Reggie Wayne, apparently he asked to be cut. Yeah. I don't know if you saw that. No, I did not. Yeah, he...

11:19 ↗

He asked to be cut. There are rumors going around that he said that the environment wasn't fun. Sincerely, he said it was not a fun environment. It was not the environment he wanted to be in. And so he requested the cut and they complied with it. It was a mutual cut. He got 450K. Wow. He did. Because he got a signing bonus. Ah, okay. So Hakeem Nix, Matt Castle, Duran Carter, Jonas Gray, and Boom Heron. Injured. Injured. But.

11:45 ↗

reports are that he will receive a injury settlement and release. So I just wanted to read those names. Who sticks out to you? Monty Ball sticks out to me because C.J. Anderson has been such a high upside, but you've got all this risk of just a busy backfield behind him. And now I know Monty Ball was already third, but when you cut him, it's very similar to that Crowell and Brown situation. Now you've got clarity, you've got less guys there, and you know C.J. Anderson's going to be the guy. Do you agree?

12:13 ↗

Is that the biggest name for you? I mean, I think the boom heron situation caught a lot of people off guard because they just assumed that he was the backup for Frank Gore, and that's not the case anymore. Right. I like the boom. I don't like that he got cut, but I'm saying for fantasy now, you have Josh Roberts and the Colts drafted him. The reports have been that they like him. And so as soon as he is healthy, it would, all signs point to him being the Frank Gore handcuffs. That's the fantasy news to know. If that's your cup of tea to back up,

12:42 ↗

Frank Gore, go ahead, grab Josh Robinson. All right, so Terrence West was traded to the Titans. Christian Michael was traded to the Cowboys. Oh. So talk about those two trades. People kind of freaked out. We had a draft on Friday night where it was our listener league draft. And somebody drafted Christian Michael in the seventh or eighth round or something. Yeah, I think they were. We all mocked that pick profusely. I believe they were drafting him on the strength of the turbine injury.

13:12 ↗

And then, hilariously, right after Michael was drafted, the Fred Jackson broke, mid-draft, and so I took him with my next pick. Fred Jackson. Yeah. So reports are saying that Michael could be used as a goal line short yardageback in Dallas. Some people think because of the situation, how murky it is, they don't seem to love Randall. We all know what Darren McFadden is. Michael has potential, but I did not pick him up in any of my drafts. What are you guys' thoughts on Michael?
