All of my enthusiasm is artificial. Yeah, there's quite a story. No, that's not true. That's not true at all. I'm excited about today's show. We have a waiver show, but I have a sad tale to tell.

You have an amazing, amazing story to tell. Sometimes things happen that are both sad and amazing. And this is like Gulliver's travels. This is a, this will be a classic masterpiece of not literature, but of fantasy lore. In our league, forever. We have this question asked all the time over the last few years. Like, what's, what's a terrible trade that you've made? This will be an answer for years to come.

I'm just going to, I teased it on Twitter because this is the nice thing about having a podcast. We're just like you. We're playing in these leagues. Our hearts and our minds are into these leagues. And things happen that really, really, really, really, really stink. Or are amazing. Or are amazing if you are on the other end of them. And for me, last night was the single worst fantasy football beat situationally.

situational options in terms of like would you sign this guy and drop this guy that type of thing so but i'm i'm just going to tell you what happened because it's unbelievable i need yesterday i was going into the monday night game and i had kyle rudolph and my opponent had a guy named odal beckham junior who you may have heard him and i was already down 9.5 points in our league of record

And I, you know, I asked these guys around the office, I said, what are my odds of winning? Rudolph versus O'Dell Beckham Jr. 1%, half a percent, right? I mean, this is, I look at all the games this year. There's never a situation where Rudolph outscores him by that many points. And I knew Minnesota's defense is great, but come on. I mean, so I thought to myself, how can I win? I need a win. Like, how do I win tonight? What is the feasible possible any way that I could possibly win? And I, you know what? The light bulb.

It popped on top of my head, and I said, I know how I can do it. And I'm going to pull off the craziest trade ever. I'm going to trade my opponent for O'Dell Beckham Jr. before I have to play him. And like a George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg movie, a perfect storm of scenarios came together where I had Wendell Smallwood, right? He was on by, so I was able to trade him. He had Victor Cruz on his bench, so he could trade O'Dell Beckham Jr. and take the chance with Cruz. All of these circumstances.

I went out and I offered him a monster tray. I mean, I sold the farm, so to speak, to get Odo Beckham Jr. I'm like, because what's, you know, if I win tonight and I have Odobeckon Jr., you're back. I'm back. I'm in a very good situation. You know where this is going. At this point, O'Dow Beckham Jr. goes out last night, has his worst game of his entire career, lowest yardage total, lost his mind to get on the field. It puts up three and a half points, three point eight points.

Victor Cruz leads the team in receiving, mind you, with only seven fantasy points, and I lose by two. And would have won if I had sat pat and just played against O'Dell Beckham Jr. And I couldn't, it's an income. You made the trade, you know, a big part of the reason to make the trade was just to help secure the victory. Oh, yeah, that too. But you actually traded. To improve chances, yeah.

for a loss. I traded the victory away. Yeah, you traded the victory. And all the trickle down implications are tremendous because I traded away draft picks. Now my team is in a worse shape and the draft picks are more valuable. And I blew the entire victory by trading away. Well, this is. For trading for Oda Beckham Jr. so I could play Victor Cruz. This is to let the Foot Clan know. Look, bad beats happen to everybody. Oh. But you're going to come back strong. You always do. Yeah. We'll see.

Here's the thing. You can do everything right on paper, and you can still get beat. Sometimes it happens. You can still get beat. You can. Quick question of the day, guys. This wide receiver gobbled up 35% of his team's targets this week and 16 total targets to lead the week, which was one better than Julio Jones. Who is he? What? 16 targets this week. Julio had 15. And 35% of his team's targets this week.

On the Periscope on Sunday, and we talked about him last week, but on the Periscope, I tuned in for a second. I turned it on. Mike was on there with that beard all polished up with that gray before shave. Looking wide awake because of the freaking 6 a.m. And someone said, hey, do I drop John Brown today and go get this guy? And Mike said, don't do it? He said, hold on, today's the day that John Brown goes ham. What are his exact words? And so I give you credit for that. Thank you. And John Brown is definitely.

Now that he's healthy. I think he's the two. He's the one. One? Well, I still think that Larry will, him and Larry, will flip-flop in production. Michael Floyd will have his time of he'll be the highest scoring receiver on the team. But I think we're transferring back to when it was Larry and John Brown were the primary targets. All right. Against all odds, right? Brian Hoyer is just finds a way to throw for 300 yards. As long as it's not the playoffs. But you have an injured Jeffrey now and you have an injured Kevin White now. I mean, can you do it all with Zach Miller and Eddie Royal? Eddie. Eddie? I think he'll be perfectly fine this week. Yeah, I agree. All right. No, he, he's a fine play. He's got a good matchup. He's going to keep doing it. He doesn't need.

anything too great because the matchup says it's a winnable matchup. All right. What's the latest on Trevor Simeon? Well, it was his non-throwing shoulder. It's still beat up. a situation where the Broncos are trying to pass the guard immediately to Paxton Lynch, they're going to let Simeon come back and keep his job.

What injury is Ryan Matthews considering for this week? Spin the wheel. I'm going to go ahead and say no injury. I'm going out on a limb here. I think the reason he was shut down the week prior to their buy was because they didn't need him in that game. The way that the game flow happened, their other running backs were doing well. He was still nursing that ankle, and they had the buy week the next week. They shut him down. Remember, they went into that last game saying we're going to really give him the ball.

The game before they did, right? He had 22 carries. So now coming out of the buy, I expect him to be the starting running back to have the workload again. But I do worry as the season goes on about Wendell Smallwood, he's more of their future, whereas Ryan Matthews and his contract, which is very large probably isn't. So I'm looking for a big week this week. I'm hoping for one, and then I'm looking to move him. So I have to, for the sake of our listeners, come out and tell you how wrong I think you are.

Okay. It's very important to me for you to understand that I don't see any scenario where Ryan Matthews after missing this time and that level of workload and the success that Philadelphia just had with Smallwood and Sproles and a platoon, I don't see there's any way his workload is big this week. I think he would be a terrible play. I think he'll get 15 carries. Oh. Water bet. That was the water bet without the. I mean, just easy. Easy. I mean.
