Coming to you from the fantasy jocks.com studios with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome to the show. Welcome to Saturday. Welcome to the last show before five days a week, my friend. Jason, what's going on? Oh, I'll tell you what's going on. Mock. Mock is what's going on. It's always a great name to do a mock draft. Mock drafting. Mock drafting is...
One of the most fun things to do, it's one of the most...
You know, you learn so much. Is this a pitch? Are you just selling? No, I'm sold. I'm already sold on mock drafts. I want to see the infomercial with you. It'd be great. Talking about mock drafts. It'd be great because at the beginning of the infomercial would be me trying to do something on paper. But the paper would, like, fly up in a pile. Like, are you sick of writing out player names? And then, you know, I'd get paper cuts everywhere and be in the hospital. We could get all of our, like, extended family members to be those really over.
acted testimonials when I switched to mock drafting. Well, yeah, we've got a mock draft today. We're going to do a 10-team standard mock draft. It's a two-man band in the studio one last time. Mike is back on Monday. He's been gone just the right amount of time. I miss him now. Yeah, the beard.
I was so happy at first. I think everybody on this earth missed him after they heard me do the promo scream yesterday. Oh, thank you for bringing that up, Andy. Listen, oh, this is a great day. This is a great day for everyone. If you haven't already subscribed to our YouTube channel or seen. This doesn't need to be brought up.
Oh, it surely does. Or seeing the show after the show, basically every weekday show when we finish, we recorded like a spitballing take on something. I think we talked about breakfast foods. It's really fun, entertaining. But we start every episode with a primal scream. By Mike. By Mike. Yeah, by Mike, because it's amazing. And he was gone, so I had to do it one day. And I got Andy to do it on Thursday's show. Guys, look.
If you want your day to be better. It's the stupidest thing you've ever seen. Ever. And it's terrible. It's horrific. And it's so wonderful. Andy put himself out there. He can't primal scream. It was great. It just reminded me of being a child and having a bad dream. And when I sat up to scream for my parents, nothing came out. That's exactly what it reminded me of. So funny. So we've got a good show. I got a quick question for you, Jason. Which quarterback? This is from at FF. Padawan on Twitter.
Which quarterback will lead the league in passing yards in 2016? That one to me is pretty easy. I might not be right, but it's an easy guess, and that's going to be Drew Breeze. Drew Breeze is a guy that consistently is slinging 5,000 yards around the field. I believe that this year he has weapons that he didn't have last year.
We saw the first have lull, including his injury last year. Spiller, maybe. Yep, Spiller could get involved. So I think that he's going to be the pacemaker, the rabbit car, if you will, that everybody's going to be chasing. You know, you've got other candidates that throw for a lot of yards like Ben Rothlisberger, Matt Ryan. Andrew Locke could be a candidate. Philip Rivers could be a candidate. Sure, sure. Aaron Rogers? No.
Aaron Rogers is super hyper efficient. He throws, he's definitely going to be up near the league. Matt Ryan? Yeah, I think Matt Ryan could be there for sure. All right. I'll go with Philip Rivers. I think that they're going to have a big bounce back year. He's got his weapons back, gates from the, from the get-go. A couple of valuable weapons, Gordon and Woodhead out of the backfield that just helps Rivers accumulate that yardage. You know, they run through the air, as Jason Moore would say.
uh keenan allen back so uh i'm gonna go and travis benjamin now so some deep balls maybe yeah no i'll go with philip rivers i'll go with philip rivers so uh i should highlight this this is the last day pretty much if you're listening to this that you can vote for our uh jersey contest where we've had a multi-bracketed jersey competition on twitter at the f f ballers where people are voting for the next autograph jersey to show up in the studio
on the wall. So we're going to get whoever you vote for. The finals, we're on to the finals. There's four names left. It's a good group. Antonio Brown, AJ Green, O'Dell Beckham Jr., and Amir Abdullah. One of these things is not like the other. Yeah, so you can go vote for that on our Twitter at the FF Ballers. You can check out join thefoot.com or fantasy football community with extra episodes every week. We got a giveaway coming up on the 5th of August. We're giving away a signed Demarius Thomas jersey from pristineauction.com.
We're giving away a trophy, I believe. Some other gear from fantasy jocks.com are studio sponsor. And so we also have a listener league spot that we're given away. This is the last time next week. We might mention it on next week's podcast, but this is essentially the last time you're going to be able to get in on that giveaway, giving away a listener league spot. And you could still email listener league at.
fantasy footballers.com. If you've made something special for us to see why you should be in the listener league. Yeah, and there won't be another giveaway with the listener in the league spot. I know that. For sure. Yeah. So check out join the foot.com. And we're going to news and notes from around the league. All right. We're going to, I want to bust through this as fast as we can efficiently. Get the good information out there. One word answers. Got it. I just want to make sure we get to our mock draft with plenty of time here.
There was a report a few days ago about Carlos Williams not being a lock to make the team. I think it was hyperbolic, but it was also interesting. Because Mike Gillisly needs to climb into the sleeper consideration now with the way, you know, both of the backups to Lachia McCoy are either on the shelf or in the doghouse. Yep. And Mike Gillisley performed well when he played. And there's all the rumors of, you know, giving Reggie Bush a contract trying to bring him back. Clearly they're not saying.
Well, Carlos is going to come back. He's going to be like the guy. They're not happy. So I fully expect him to be on the team. But I'm not drafted. Nobody's drafting Carlos Williams. In week one, if LaShaul McCoy pulls a hammy and he's out for four or five weeks, who's the rush on the waiver wire going to be? I think we're answering that over the next month. I think right now if they don't sign anybody else, it would be Mike Gillisley. Right. So that's why his name needs to be out there. Did you...
Happened to see this Brandon Marshall video. Oh, I did. I loved it. The Brandon Marshall groundswell in my heart is growing. Now, look, I didn't have to change him in my rankings because I already had him there. He's like my number five. But Brandon Marshall is in great shape, 10 pounds less than he was last season. Oh, guess what, by the way? We didn't get to talk about this. I, you know. I tried to bury it in the news. Yeah, this is terrible and wonderful. So.
Ryan Fitzpatrick has signed with the Jets. Ryan Fitzpatrick signed with the Jets, a 12-year, one-year deal. Do you know anybody in the fantasy community that had guaranteed he would sign? There was one buffoon that was guaranteeing it from forever ago, said guarantee it 100% chance. There's no doubt in my mind. And then as time went on, he's like, okay, it's 8515, I think. Okay. I hedged a little bit. To your credit.
You never really wavered, even when it did seem like Gino was going to be the guy. And I was 50-50. You said, no, it's still going to happen. Just wait. And it happened. So Brandon Marshall, video of him running 24 miles an hour on the treadmill, talk of him losing 10 pounds. Ryan Fitzpatrick gets signed. And then this video comes out yesterday, which I just love Brandon Marshall in general. I think he's a hilarious personality. Love everything about him. And he comes out and he basically says he would.
race Antonio Brown for papers on their cars, but he's got a Porsche. Antonio Brown has a Rolls Royce. But he basically then said, or how about this, you know? Yeah. A.B., if you get, if you have more receiving yards than me, you can have my Porsche. That is bold. That's bold to a guy who, you know, is, is a wide receiver looking at, can I be the first wide receiver ever to crack that 2,000 yard mark?
It just, you know, it's the furthest thing from like statistical analytics that you can apply to fantasy football. But it's exciting when you have players that are willing to go out on a limb like that and seem to be working hard. Todd Bowles wants him to be able to run down field. There is actually genuine analysis to be found there, though. Because the knock on Brandon Marshall is his age. You know, that's the only knock you could possibly find on Brandon Marshall. He's 32. I mean, last year, he was the fourth wide receiver.
And that's not like, oh, my gosh, where did he come from? Who's this Brandon Marshall? Brandon Marshall's fantastic, consistent, a great fantasy producer, but he's 32 years old. So you go, you know, I'm just worried. Maybe he takes a step down. Maybe he can't repeat what he did last year. If he's worried, if he's like, man, I feel a step slower or anything like that. You're not betting your Porsche to getting more yards than Antonio Brown. You know what I mean? Sure. Sure. There's no purpose in that. Right. All right. Eric Ebrun.
He's one of the guys that we have as a breakout this year in our ultimate draft kit. They expect, the Lions official website said that they expect him to see, quote, a huge uptick in the number of balls thrown his way this year. This is not news to us because Calvin Johnson is gone. And Eric Ebron was a first round pick. He was a top 10 pick. Eric Ebron is a beast. And I think whenever I look at ADPs, and I've said this in the studio before, you've heard me say it.
I feel like they're broken with Eric Ebron. Yeah. Eric Ebron is, you know, like the 12th, sometimes the, depending on what, you know, data source you're using, he's like the 12th tight end taken. And I'm sitting here thinking, of all the later tight ends, the like deeper tight ends, you know, you're waiting in your draft for, there's not many of those guys that have the chance to be a top five tight in at the end of the year. Yeah. And it's not saying he will. It's just, look, everything is laid out before him.
He has every opportunity. This is a make-or-break year as well for him. Tight-ins always take several years before they are fantasy relevant. I mean, there's not a lot, other than Gronk, there's no good examples that we could give you of. Like, this guy came out of college, and he was just a great fantasy tight-in, you know, from year one to year seven. It just doesn't happen. And now this is his third year, right? This is his third year in the NFL. Everything's laid out before him. It could happen.
