Welcome to the show. It is Tuesday, June 2nd. And this is the fantasy footballers podcast, and we are back for yet another episode. Did you guys notice my name's first in the intro? Yeah, I heard that every time I've listened to the show. Yeah. What do you think that means? Oh, okay. Nice flip, Mike.
This is Andy. I'm joined by Jason Moore. I'm never the best or the worst. I'm right in the middle. And he has no nickname. And then there's Mike, the fantasy hitman, right? You're the ham of our sandwich, fantasy sandwich. I'm what makes it delicious. Why wouldn't you go with the Oreo cookie after all the debates we've had?
You are kind of a double stuff. Thank you. You just call me fat. Oh, man. And you call me delicious. So I'm totally okay with that. This show has gotten off to a wonderful start. We are the fantasy footballers. Thank you for listening today, this morning. It is June, fellas. Yes. Do you know OTAs are going on right now? I knew that. Following it like crazy. Yeah. And do you know what that stands for?
Because we say it all the time. Do you know OTAs actually chance for? Optional team activities. You're close. Offensive. Tuberculosis. It would be. I really wanted to say different word. And then I remembered we're a clean show. Yeah. It's offensive to maybe like Dante Fowler. But no, organized team practice activities. I thought it was optional. And there's not supposed to be any, no contact, no contact, but we've already had now Clayty.
who he isn't in our news and notes section, but Ryan Clayty, the tackle for the Denver Broncos, has now torn his ACL. Yes. To join Dante Fowler Jr., the third pick in the draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, despite no activity. And the left tackle for the team drills. Giants? Oh, they lost him too. Yep. Yep. So things are not going so well, but you got rookie symposium later this month. You got some mandatory three-day camps, four teams, and then we're going to be.
in the thick of it, boys. Do people in the OTAs injure anything other than their knees? Like, everybody should just wrap their knees and some kind of ace bandage. They should all wear braces on both of them. Yeah. Did you know that the Rams have not signed anybody yet because they're choosing to not sign their rookies yet because they're putting them all through financial counseling before they sign any contracts? Genius. Yeah. Did you ever watch that, what was it, 30 for 30? I didn't. I haven't seen the broke one. Yeah, all the players that had gone broke like out of the NFL?
Yeah, but I thought it was, that's not too shabby. Yeah, well done. It's pretty classy. That's pretty good. Yeah. Because that's a lot of money to come into when you're not used to it. My goodness. I got a quick question for you guys. Who do you think was the biggest ADP riser, average draft position? Who do you think went up the most the last week? You're talking about to the highest spot? I mean, the biggest jump. The biggest jump. I'll give you a bunch of names, but who made the biggest jump? I think it's either got to be a rookie.
Because rookies are growing up right now? Or Joe Randall? Yeah. Randall was my first thought. And that is the answer to the question. Joseph Randall, moving from the 8th to the 5th. Do you guys have anything to say about him? That's going to keep going up. Yeah, he's clearly going to be the guy. And I know you were saying this. No, not clearly. But he is to me. Well, that's only because you still think someone else is coming to Dallas. He's always been that way for me. Yeah. And now it's coming true.
I just, I don't think he won't give in quite yet. No, when it happens, I will more than gladly say that Joseph Randall's the guy. You're just not counting DMC out? Yeah, not counting him out. Just Joseph Randall, his, I don't think he's the guy. We talked about this. Despite Dallas kind of feeling like they have this aura of arrogance with their offensive line thinking they can put anybody back there. I think they do understand.
that DeMarco Murray was a special talent. Of course. Him plus that line. And they don't think Joseph Randall's going to be DeMarco Murray. I just think he's going to lead... Other than Joseph Randall. Well, yeah, that's true. But I just think he'll lead the platoon. And I think he's got more talent. He just has... He's younger and he's got more talent than DMC. And he's going to stay healthier than DMC. Yeah, I agree he's better than DMC. Other guys moving up this week, as Jason said, were the rookies. T. J. Eldon, Amir Abdullah.
Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley. I got to stop talking about it. DMC? DMC actually did move up around somehow. I guess people are just deciding at this point now on the Dallas running back situation, and Lagart Blunt moved up around, which he should. I don't really understand it being a sixth round pick. That doesn't make sense to me. What about falls? Who do you think had the biggest ADP fall this week? I have no idea. Based on Lagart Blunt, I would think maybe Gronk.
Oh, because the Patriots guys are falling down? Yeah. With the Brady suspension. Gronk fell a little bit. He fell to the top of the second round, so he's not an ADP. That's good value. His average job position is not in the first draft. I might have actually draft him then. C.J. Anderson fell a little bit. Lamar Miller fell from the back of the third into the fourth round. And Julius Thomas fell a little bit. Good. We don't talk about him very much. Because there's nothing to talk about. Yeah. Where's he going right now? Like the seventh? Who?
Julius? Yeah, he's going in the 7th. So he's going about four or five rounds too early. He just fell to that. I was the only one in our tied-in show that even had him ranked. Yeah, had him ranked, which is, I still think he belongs there. I think you guys are underestimating him. No way. But I'll, I can be wrong. No, it's fine. When we debate, normally time goes by and then I'm right. So it's not a big deal. Let's go ahead and read a review from our listeners on iTunes. Sure.
Review Osaurus Rags. This one comes in from a group of fat men is the name of the reviewer. That's the name. That was the name. And a group of fat men says, I recently started listening to the fantasy footballers and cannot get enough. These guys absolutely know what they're talking about, and it's a blast to listen to their light-hearted camaraderie they bring to each and every podcast. Do your fantasy teams a favor and subscribe to these guys now.
Thank you, group of fat men. Yeah, I couldn't have said it better myself. If you want to help the show out, we always appreciate. Very much. An iTunes review, yeah. Go ahead and give us a review on there. Keeps us doing what we're doing. Helps other people find the show, obviously not the other people in your league. Don't worry about that. Keep them away. Other people. Yeah. Anything else going on? I will try and be spoiler-free, but winter is coming.
Winter is here, people. Yeah, that was a dandy episode. Funny enough, I just had this conversation with my sister because she was on a lunch with some workmates, and it was Wednesday at this time. And one of the people there hadn't seen that week's episode. And I said, no, so they couldn't talk about it. And I was like, no, no, no, no. There's a statute of limitations on that. Game with Thrones is a 48 hours maximum.
That's the max you give somebody before the spoiler. And I think going over 24 is being... That's very generous. It's being very generous. So 48 is just... If you don't expect us not to drop spoilers on Thursday show is what you're saying. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If Thursday and we feel like talking about it, the spoilers will come. But people, if you watch Game of Thrones, it is Wednesday, you're going to get spoiled and you live with it. You've made a decision. You've made a terrible decision with your life and you deal with it.
You speak the truth, Hitman. Before we get into the news and notes, I want to tell you a little bit how you can find us on the interwebs at the FF Ballers. This is our Twitter handle. episodes as well as other information articles our rankings are getting up there mike's got some of his preliminary i know you'll caution people that they're changing but your preliminary rankings are up there pretty much every day i go through and i've been editing tweaking yeah i i'm going to have mine up there very very soon i'm working on the site to get all that stuff up there if you want to contact us send us a question we've been getting tons tons of questions lately a lot of people are definitely uh rounding
into draft form, I can tell. But you can email us, mail at the fantasy footballers.com. You can also call us and leave us a voicemail on our question voicemail box 302-464-TFFB. That's 302-464-8332. And you guys want to talk some more news and notes? Let's do it. News and notes from around the league. You know, Mike, I had to...
I had to get Jason four tombs before this show because he did a sonic drive-thru on the way in. Oh, did you sonic boom? Yeah, I sonic boomed. I was growling like a lion from my lungs. It was not good. The microphone was picking up all bodily function. Then you came here like a prophet and called me fat. Yeah. Oh, I alluded. You saw the sonic in my belly. Yeah, I was telling them that like most fast food meals should just come with a pack of thumbs at the end. They should just...
Stop the ruse. They know what's going to happen to you. We talk about a lot of fast food on this show. Darn right, we do. Between In and Out and Sonic. Football and burgers, man. Peter Pepper Pizza. All right. Let's talk some news and notes. The Giants. Odell Beckham, a little bit of concern here when you read this. He's dealing with a hamstring issue again. Yes. I think this is important because people are just completely on board, not looking back, not considering anything.
that the guy missed a bunch of games last year because of hamstring injuries. Yep. At the end of the year, he came out and he said that he had pulled both his hamstrings. So there could be a running issue here with ODB, and it's something that you have to at least think about and not just, I've got the new best wide receiver with no concern. That's the funny thing. When I read the place that I read the news blurb on his hamstring problem, the end of that blurb said,
You know, but assuming he's healthy, he'll be in the number one mix again. You know, like that's the pub surrounding ODB. We're just glossing over the hamstring issues. Yeah, and this isn't something that should scare us away or be like, oh, this is big news. Drop them in your rankings. Drop him in your rankings if he's number one in your rankings, but not because of this news. Because, you know, like in our rankings right now, I think what we've got him collectively probably about fifth or sixth. Yeah, he's still probably a little farther. Yeah. And that's where.
And I think that's where we ranked them based on the question marks we still don't know from last year. I mean, he didn't just come in halfway, you know, miss a couple games because, you know, he wasn't ready. He was a rookie. He missed those games because of soft tissue injuries, which are notoriously the ones that come back. Yeah, I mean, there are a couple warning signs there. When Eli loses his time in the pocket a little bit maybe with this tackle going down and the reminder of ODB being injured, just be careful. Other guys don't necessarily have those risks.
Other guys don't have his upside, so you have to weigh that, right? The Redskins, oh, we alluded to this, what, two weeks ago, it's incredible. Jordan Reed has now had knee surgery of some sort. A procedure. A procedure. One article I read was surgery. They say he'll allegedly be ready for training camp because he also will allegedly be a really good tight-in someday. Niles Paul. Yeah. Yeah, it's just...
