Welcome into the show. We are back again. And by we, I mean, me, myself, and a bear. Oh, and Jason's here, too. I'm here as well. Or am I? No, I'm not the bear, though. No, no, no, no. That's Jay Gris. Jay Gris is in the house. Which means Mike is not in the house. Mike is at a wedding for his best friend. He's off in Denver.

2:50 ↗

I'm just going to assume that he's skiing regardless of the time of year. Do you cry at weddings? Do I cry at weddings? No, you cry at weddings. Oh, my goodness, I can't go to a wedding and not cry. I'm going to be honest. If I don't cry at your wedding, if I go to your wedding, I don't cry. There's a problem. It ain't sticking. Like, I know it from day one. This is not a masculine thing. I just don't cry anymore. I just can't.

3:14 ↗

I have no emotions that allow me to cry. That makes me want to cry. I'm sure it does. Welcome to the podcast at Saturday, July 29th, as I said in the intro. August is almost here. We'll be five days a week. Goodbye, July. Goodbye, hoping for football. Hello, preseason football. Not just training camps that started this week, but this is now, you know, the next show you listen to after this one. It's the month of preseason. In fact, this.

3:43 ↗

Thursday is the first preseason game that seems impossible. And yet it's not impossible. It's incredible. We have a celebratory mock draft episode today. We will be going through a 10-team mock draft, Jason and myself making some picks, giving you insights into how we think about drafting, and we're going to do it from the number one spot in the draft. Can you believe it, Brooks? The number one spot. I can't.

4:11 ↗

No, we want to show you what it's like drafting at the top, having to wait for that second pick. Having to reach on players sometimes because, you know, when you're at the turn, you know, if you're trying to play the ADP game too much and it's two full rounds until your next pick, you just got to take the guys you want. Yeah, yeah. So a quick question of the day. What player are you ashamed to love for the 2017 fantasy football season? What player are you ashamed?

4:39 ↗

to love. I know for Jay Gris, it's obviously Mike Glinnett. See, I thought it was going to be Martellus Bennett, just because he left. You know, he left the Bears, but... No. All right. Who is it for you, Jay? Well, I'll stay with the tight-in theme of Martell's Bennett. I don't want to say it. I really don't. I was on the pewter plank podcast this past week, and I had to share it there. I tweeted it out a little bit, and I got a lot of flack already, but I have not.

5:08 ↗

said this name this season on the show yet. And I am ashamed to say, look, Kobe Fleener. Did you? I know, I know everyone is spitting in their car. What do you mean that you've not said his name on the show this year? I have not. You mean like you haven't said it a hundred times? I am saying that I have definitely said it. Well, maybe on the footcast and another maybe on the main show I have said it. But I do. Yes.

5:35 ↗

I do believe. You haven't said you love him, though. And this is saying a shame to love. So you must, this is taking it up a notch. Your relationship is blossoming. Here's the deal with Kobe Fleener. If you look at, I could paint all of the poor pictures. That's easy to do. I mean, his first half targets versus second half targets, they definitely trended down. The disappointment of last season where he went into a role where Benjamin Watson was amazing. And then he comes out. And, you know, his draft price last year, he was like the sixth.

6:05 ↗

tight end off the board. But this year, he's undrafted. He's not like at your, if you're just in a regular home league, a work league, Kobe Fleener's not getting drafted. You can pick him up off of waivers after your draft or you can use your last pick as I'm going to do on Kobe Fleener. Last year in a standard league, it's kind of mind blowing. He finished as a tight end one. Brandon Cooks is gone. He's in the year two of a system. I think if you look at.

6:32 ↗

guys around his average draft price. There's no one with the upside capabilities. Just stop. Do you know what season this is for Kobe Flean? I'm fighting right now. I'm fighting. You're going to fight me on this? You don't want to know what season this is? What season is this? This upcoming will be seven? No, six. The sixth season for Kobe Fleener, 26 receptions, 52, 51, 54, 50. Yeah. What, this is the time to shine? You want to know why he's not drafted?

7:01 ↗

Because he's not worth drafting. Sure. And that might be there. That being said, twice. You have answered the question. You should be ashamed. Right. It makes perfect sense. I am legitimately ashamed to say it. I don't want. I'm not out there, you know, holding the Kobe Fleener banner proudly at all. This is, this, if you didn't ask the question, I'm not coming out and saying it. But, you know, he has been a tight in one, two different occasions already in his short. Yeah, ponytail or no ponytail. I'm not drafting Kobe Fleener. All right. I'm ashamed.

7:31 ↗

And I'm going to say I'm ashamed to absolutely love Todd Gurley because no fantasy football expert analyst, podcaster, writer wants to pick the next Trent Richardson. And there are so many comparisons, so many people who are out there just disparaging the name of Todd Gurley. And I defend him at every turn. But if I am wrong, I will be so very ashamed.

7:59 ↗

Now, I don't think I'm wrong. I think Todd Gurley is a very, very good player who was placed with a very, very, very bad coaching situation last year, offensive line, quarterback play, everything that could go wrong. But if it happens again, that's going to be a problem. You know what we need a future quick question is who do we love that we're not ashamed of? Like that, you know, we love and other people don't, and I'm not ashamed.

8:28 ↗

Because I got my answer for that one. But that's for another podcast with Mike. All right. Follow us on Twitter at the FFBallers. As I said, we have a mock draft episode coming up. And if you didn't know this, this podcast is on YouTube. You can watch this show. You can take a longing look into Jay Grizz's eyes. Yeah. His grizzled eyes. Hear the dulcet tones while you stare into his eyes at YouTube.com slash.

8:55 ↗

The fantasy footballers. Very easy to find us over there. Check out our fantasy community at join the foot.com. And we're going to get into some news right now. News and notes from around the league. All right. Joe Flacco is expected to miss maybe the first three to six weeks of training camp. Man. Disc injury in his back. The Ravens are not having a good off season at all. This is, I mean, I'll tell you, you know, last year it was the Chargers.

9:28 ↗

Danny Woodhead leaves there, comes to Baltimore, and all of a sudden, everyone starts falling over. Not only that, but you had Crockett Gilmore. Not really super fantasy relevant news, but he came up with the leg injury today. As far as Joe Flacco goes, I've had a lot of questions. Are you concerned about, you know, do you move Macklin down? Right now you don't. Right now, it's expected to just be, he's on the sideline.

9:55 ↗

at camp for, you know, three or four weeks, and he'll be back for preseason. Now, if in two weeks he's not healing and news changes and they do go and, you know, the sign the whispers in the bushes with Colin Kaepernick, yeah, then you've got to think there's more to the century. All right, the Cowboys have signed running back Ronnie Hillman. That's worth a, you know, a bad horn. There is.

10:25 ↗

Why is that worth a bad horn, as you called it? Because I think this is a clear indication that Zeke will be suspended. I mean, there's, you know, a lot of people expect it to come. And what we do know is that the verdict will come soon. Suspended or not suspended, you know, they're wrapping up their investigation. It's going to come. But when you see a team making moves in preparation for something like that, it leads me to believe that.

10:53 ↗

They know it's coming. There is a chance that this is more of an indictment on Alfred Morris. Apparently, Alfred Morris is behind Rod Smith right now on the depth chart. They are looking to move him, according to reports around the area. I posted on our Sleeperbot channel a poll, and I said, okay, let's say week seven of the NFL season is here. Who do you believe the leading yardage gainer on the Cowboys is? At that point, who do you believe it is?

11:23 ↗

Run DMC? Is it Zeke? Is it Alf? Is it somebody else? The majority still took Ezekiel Elliott. Do you believe that to be the case through six weeks? And do we know how long the suspension is? I think it'll be D.C. No, we don't know. I'm saying right now not knowing. At this point through week six, I'm starting to lean. Well, no, I guess if it's a three-game suspension, then it'll clearly be Zique. I'm going to go with Zique. All right. Mike isn't here, and he's not going to like it. But, uh...

11:52 ↗

Suspended receiver, formerly suspended, Martavis Bryant, he's not been fully reinstated. The weirdest news article. By the NFL, he was only conditionally reinstated, which means he can take part in off-the-field team activities at training camp, but he cannot practice for playing games yet. That's huge bad news. I mean, I thought that we were done with this. My understanding, prior to the GM coming out and letting us know.

12:19 ↗

that he has been informed by the league that he, you know, is not fully done. It seems like they were almost surprised. And, you know, you can't draft Martavis Bryant. Hi. Mike, when he heard the news, he was like, well, RIP, my play draft best ball leagues because he gets Martavis Bryant in every single one of those leagues. If you go to our ultimate draft kit, Martavis Bryant is listed as a value. But there's a little note next to him, and it says high risk. And this is why.

12:48 ↗

Our risk rating on him is very high. Yeah, it doesn't matter what player it is. It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't have to be Josh Gordon. If you are coming back from a suspension, everything can look rosy and beautiful. I believed in Josh Gordon at one point in time, came out with that big Players Tribune article, made you think he had changed the way he was living. And it's not to say that these players can't do that. We have seen that happen. I mean, Tyran Matthew is a case of a player who turned it all the way around.

13:15 ↗

But there are many others. We don't have a lot of examples of multiple repeat NFL suspensions than going the way of fantasy football success after that. Sure, sure. And so we just, look, at this point, it's caution. He represents a boom-bust type of situation for the fantasy owner right now where, like Mike hasn't been every best ball league, and we're going to have a best ball tips segment at the very end of the show.
