Fantasy Football 2017 - PPR Mock Draft + Players We’re Ashamed To Love

He has him in every league because he knows what he means on those big weeks, even if it takes some time. But look, you could look at him as a value and you could end up with nothing. Yeah, we'll investigate this more and keep everybody apprised to the situation there because that changes a lot for the team and other players as well. All right, I'm going to try to fly through the rest of these as we jump into the draft, our mock draft segment. Devante Booker, a fracture discovered in his wrist. He could miss the first week or two of the regular season.

I think this is, you know, it bodes well for C.J. Anderson. They went and signed who they get. Stephen Ridley. Yeah, Stephen Ridley. And it's yet to be seen if Jamal Charles still exists or not. He is cleared for the start of training camp. That's good sign. I want to see him running. Okay. Jumping. John Brown might miss up to a week. No. With a quad injury. No. I am so. He ran too fast, Jason. Sick of this.

Look, here's the, here's the, with some real emotions. I am so sick of it. I love John Brown. His talent, his potential, his draft cost. He is a perfect fantasy football player. He is getting just injured enough to where Mike might be very interested soon. Here's the real biggest issue. They say the sickle cell trait that caused the leg problems is behind him. And so we all want to get back on board, myself included. But leg problems keep popping back up.

over and over. It's a hamstring. It's a quad. It sounds to me, like I'm no doctor, but it sounds like the sickle cell problem is not completely under control. And my worry, I'm not saying that it's not, but my worry is that it's not. And so if that's the case, we're going to have a season like he had last year, which was worthless. It just stinks, man. I want him healthy and on the field, and so far hasn't happened. This is his second of the off season. You think he's working with Arian Foster's brother? Yeah.

All right, hey, I've got to throw this one in there. Doug Marone was asked how many times a game he wants quarterback Blake Bordles to throw this year. His answer was zero. Yeah. He said he basically wants to run the ball every play. I want to go back to the old way I want to change the game. This is music to the ears of a Leonard Fournett sympathizer as I am, someone who really believes in Fournett's top five potential.

if the offensive line can get it done. They were a middle of the pack offensive line last year. But they just locked up their center long term. And I'm very intrigued. But I'm not intrigued if I want Blake Bortles and I'm not intrigued as an Alan Robinson order. No, not good news for either of those, but it's good news for Jags fans, right? Yeah. I mean, play to your strengths or avoid your weaknesses, if you know what I'm saying. But I did move Leonard Pornett up actually before this news. So it was nice to have that affirmation coming. But I believe.

that they are going to be a run first team. Okay. Yeah, I do too. And I think that will bode well. They have a defense that on paper should be outstanding. Yeah. Upper echelon type of defense. Paper just doesn't seem to translate in Jacksonville lately. I wish I could convert the paper into fantasy points. It just never happens quite that way. All right, let's, uh, you want to jump into the mock draft? Let's do it. PPR. The fantasy footballers mock draft.

Now that's a point per round that we complete, right? We get a point every time we get through one of these rounds. Is that what that stands? Yeah, point per round. And so at the end of the draft, you're going to have, you know, over a dozen points. It's fantastic. All right, 10 team PPR draft from the one spot. As I said before, two quarterback, two running back, two wide receiver, one tight-in, one flex. Did you say two quarterback just now? I did say that, Brooks. Thank you very much.

Might have saved the day on our mock draft. One quarterback, two running back, two wide receiver, one tight end, one flex, a defense, a kicker, and five bench spots drafting from the one spot in a 10 team. PPR draft. Brooks saved the day. Were you going to do that again? We had a show where... Yeah, I was going to do it again. Man, your computer just always defaults that double quarterback. Yeah, that's not good. All right, the draft, we kick it off. We have the number one spot.

Who are you taking, Jason? This is a real tough one. I've gone back and forth, but at the end of the day, I think I'm going David Johnson. Who? David Johnson. David Johnson going number one. Look, I love Lev Bell this year as well. I get asked the question each and every week. What spot do you want to be drafting? The spot I want to be in the two spot. I want to be in the two spot. You know, last year it was, you know, later in the first round. I want one of the two.

Big time running backs that I have confidence in right now. With the Zeke news up in the air, it's Lev or it's David Johnson. We're in the one spot here. I do side with David Johnson. I just think the workload is going to be incredible. And so David Johnson is the pick. You feel good about that. Yeah, I feel real good about David Johnson. So really, for all intensive purposes, this draft is going to be starting at the, you know, at the two, three turn for us. That's right. We're going to be starting this.

Second round. Much later. All right. So after David Johnson, just to give a lay of the land here in the first round, Lev Bell went number two. Antonio Brown goes number three, maybe reflecting some of that lack of confidence in Ezekio Elliott, as those three running backs were always the three off the board. It is a PPR league, though. So Antonio Brown goes three, Zeke goes four, ODB goes five, Julio Jones six, A.J. Green seven. Melvin Gordon slides into the first round here at number eight.

Mike Evans goes nine, LaShawn McCoy goes 10. Any surprises from that first round that are worth? No, no, I don't think so. I mean, you spoke to the Zeke slide, which makes a lot of sense. And I think most of the guys in the first round, you know, those are the same culprits in every league that I've been in. Okay. All right. So we're going to slide second round here. Devonta Freeman, Jordy Nelson, J. Ajai, DeMarco Murray, Michael Thomas, Jordan, Howard, Des Bryant, and T. Y.

Back to the draft. So here we sit with David Johnson in tow.

David Johnson in tow and one name that I did not hear go off in the first two rounds that may end up a temptation to me in a lot of drafts this year. You're talking about Gronky Kong, right? Yeah. Rob Gronkowski is still on the board here. Year after year he seems to go in the first or second round. It seems finally the injury concerns and doubts have caught up to him. And so he's on the board and I'm not advocating for him. I just want it in consideration.

Yeah. Well, the nice thing about being at the turn is you can decide which round you grab guys. So, like, if you don't want Gronk in the second, but you're fine, taking them in the third, then we'll just draft someone first. Oh, you take him and then take Grom. Yeah, and here's a reality for, you know, positions where you only start one player, a quarterback and a tight end for most leagues. I don't like taking them early. You can punt those for a long time. And in a 10-team league, you know, there's a...

Part of the narrative is you need better players. You need the real difference makers. But also part of the narrative is it's easier to stream. So if you want to play guys off of the waiver, there's more quality candidates there. All that being said, there is not another guy.

out there and i include aaron rogers at the quarterback position that is as big a difference maker at any single position as gronk i won't take a second or you know the second or third or fourth tight end off the board that i think is going to have a great season because i would rather stream the position late but gronk i would consider and i would love to take gronk here

I just can't I can't pull the trigger in the second. So we got to figure out who we're taking before Gronk. Ah. So we take him at the 3. But your mind at ease. Right. Exactly. I can say I got a value then. I got Gronk in the third. I like the fact that you illustrated both of the aspects of the 10 team league there, though, where the difference maker at the right value is the target. Right. But if you don't find that value, you do have the luxury of waiting on tight end streaming a guy like Kobe Fleener.

Maybe it's an Ebron, maybe it's Jack Doyle, maybe it's Bennett. There are a lot of late-round tight-ins that I like and would have no real issue putting them in there. Yeah, and going gronk early, as we are, you know, expected to do here. That means we're bypassing a running back or wide receiver in this round, which says to me there's no way I'm taking a quarterback anywhere.

until, you know, double-digit rounds. Right. Until I'm so confident in my running back-and-wide receiver depth because I'm hurting myself a little bit here to take Gronkin at those positions. So we're obviously drafting back-to-back here. And so drafting back-to-back, I'm on board with Gronkowski is one of the two picks. If you look at the running back-and-wide receiver landscape, because we're going to make these picks back-to-back and roll back through, you know, Doug Baldwin, he's on the board, Sammy Watkins.

You know, a lot of the big names have already gone off. You know, Demarius Thomas is here, Alan Robinson, Alshon, Jeffrey, Keenan Allen. It's a full point PPR. However, that being said, it is only, it's two running backs, two wide receivers and a flex. So, you know, the high-earned guys are going to score more at the running back position. Your flex will score more at wide receiver. Andy, I know you're probably saying Todd Gurley is what you want to do. Well, I think running back is what I want to do here. I don't think I want to take one of the wide receivers. I think.

You know, we've drafted a running back slash wide receiver with our first pick. David Johnson qualifies both in my book. So I'm looking at this. He just can't play in the wide receiver slot. He can't. He can't. He cannot. So I, look, if Gronk is going off, maybe we give Gronk the promotion into the second round right now. All right. I'll take him there. Rob Gronkowski, and then we'll take this next pick.

Tell me why you're, are you thinking running back or are you thinking wide receiver and we'll make the pick? All right. You know, when I look at this, it's hard for me in a full PPR to not take a wide receiver in the first three rounds. That being said, I look at all of the wide receivers, Doug Baldwin, Hopkins, you know, Keenan Allen, Sammy Watkins. And because it's PPR, you've got guys like Larry Fitzgerald. Golden Tate. Julian Edelman. Just as good as those guys. So I actually agree with you here. And this is a public service announcement. When you're doing mock drafts.

Do mocks different than how you always draft. If you're going in and you do mocks over and over and you're like every draft I end up getting the same guys. Stop it. Because at your draft, if things go different and all of a sudden the guys you want don't fall to you, you're going to be on tilt and you're going to go, oh, crap, what do I do? So let's draft the double running back and tied in and see what happens if we like our team. Yeah, I want to see how our team turns out in a 10-team league with...
