to the fantasy footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Hello. Hey. Hey. Hey, baby beard. It's me, the baby beard. Well, that's not what they're calling you on Twitter. Oh, yeah. What do they call me on Twitter, Mike? They're calling you the Fantasy Reaper, my friend.
Ah, the Fantasy Reaper. You get high in Andy's rankings, you go down. I... Shouldn't that be the Fantasy Hitman? I mean... That's what I said. No, the Hitman, I take people out. Not my people. I protect my people. Welcome to the show. This is the Fantasy Footballers podcast. What Mike, the Fantasy Hitman, Wright, is referring to, is the fact that Shady McCoy went down yesterday. We just... We were on Chris Harris's podcast yesterday.
And I was talking about how I'm rising on LaShawn McCoy. We all know what happened with Arian Foster, who used to be my number one running back this offseason. And now Shady McCoy goes down with what's looking to be less severe than initially thought. But man, that was a scary day. Hamstring, correct? Yeah. It's a pulled hamstring for now. Hey, let me say this. I may be the Fantasy Reaper and my guys might go down. But from what I can tell, none of the muscles actually coming off the bone in these situations. Yeah.
Because initially it's reported that Arians did, and it didn't. And now Shady, Rex Ryan came out and said, hey, it did not separate from the bone. So I'm merciful. Shout out to our supporter, Mugs. Yeah. Mugs was the one who coined that term. Oh, he said that? Yeah. I thought you both said it. That's funny. Just wait. Just wait for the image.
Image to follow. Oh, man. Welcome to the show. Excited because we have four episodes this week. We're bringing news and notes every day, and I'm glad because there's so much news going on in the fantasy world. We have wide receiver rankings 21 through 40 on today's show. If you missed yesterday's show, we went one through 20. We also had Steve Rain Azizzi from the league. Kevin. Yeah, he was on the show. Yeah, Kevin from the league. So that was fun.
That was a good time. And today we have, we're going to do some mailbag because we couldn't fit it into yesterday's show. We've got some news and notes. I'll make some predictions about some players and then they'll get injured this afternoon. So what we want to do now is just take a minute to read a review from the listeners. We appreciate all the reviews that have been coming in on iTunes. So every once in a while we want to read one of those and say thanks. Review Osoras Rags. This one comes in from...
Kay Benjamin. Wow. We'll talk about that in a minute. These guys are great to listen to knowledgeable and entertaining without droning on about one topic. They give the people what they want slash need to know and move on. For where they're at in the podcast rankings, I'd say the footballers are this season's steel of the draft. I couldn't help but, and thank you very much, Kay Benjamin. Your review is selected because of your name. Because some news broke this morning moments ago that
Kelvin Benjamin is a little banged up. Carted off the field with an apparent knee injury. Yeah, the initial reports were a lot of fear. What's coming through the wire now is that hopefully it's just a knee sprain. Yeah, that's what we're hearing. But you know what? If he hasn't had an MRI yet and he's going to get MRI, you just don't know. Yeah, but the doctors are pretty good about knowing if an ACL is...
is torn. The MRI is always just to make sure. He's probably fine. He wasn't on my top draft list, so he's probably fine. Yeah, that's a good point. I bet you were thinking about moving him up, though. No, no, he's one player I wasn't. And certainly not now. But, okay, let's say Benjamin's out a while. Let's give him four to six weeks. He's out. Who moves up? Is it funches? Yeah, probably not. Contchery? Maybe funchis a little bit. Or my man. Jay Stu coming through.
I'm going to give him the ball. Yeah, because that's what he needs. A big workload. Don't care. Yeah, I would move funches up a little bit. So quick question for the day is related to Jay Su. So it's perfect, perfect timing here. Quick question is Jonathan Stewart or Mark Ingram? Who are you drafting? You go ahead, Jay. Sure. I'm drafting Mark Ingram without a shadow of a doubt if it's a standard league. It's a close call, but I've got Mark Ingram above Stu even by two spots even in a PPR. These fellas are literally back-to-back.
That's why I chose them. Oh, well, I looked at your rankings, and I picked two guys back to back, and I said, who would you actually take right now? Jonathan Stewart. Okay. See, for me, I... This was, and before the news, I just like Stewart. They're both going so high that I, I mean, I'd probably take Ingram because I just have never seen Jonathan Stewart stay healthy. Yeah, we have. When? Once. It was a couple years ago. A couple years ago. But here's the thing. A couple years ago, we saw him two healthy seasons and was awesome. We've seen Mark Ingram do it for one year.
In a contract year. That's a fair argument. I like Ingram, but I'm just... It's a fair argument. We talked to Chris Harris on the show, and he talked about the tape, and the tape of Jonathan Stewart is great. Yeah. I think we all know that. It's just a matter of... Health. Yeah, and the offense, you know, I can't help but think Noron's going to score more points than Carolina's going to score. I can agree with that, but the Carolina defense, I think, is back. Yeah, it's interesting. We saw it come back the second half of last season, and if that's what they want to be, is the defense pound it. Yeah.

You can check out the show. You can see Mike's big-time beard and my baby beard. And then Jason, too. Yeah. I also have a baby beard. You do. So need to put some of that handsome fancy. How do you decide? Just.
People trim the beards like at different neck levels. I mean, what goes into that decision? I think that question has to be answered by Mike because I feel like my beard is very stupid. I think your beard is good. Thank you. That means a lot. But what's coming from Mike? You know what the big beard? You don't shave your neck at all. You just let it go. You just let it go because it's all hidden. Yep.
I pretty much just let my wife decide where the trim line is on my neck. There you go. I hope every morning she just shaves your neck with a straight razor. Every morning, right when I wake up, just to keep me in my place. Don't let Arian Foster or LaShawn McCoy shave your neck. No, because they'll take me out. All right. Let's get into some more news. News and notes from around the league.
Well, we've briefed you on Kelvin Benjamin and Lashon McCoy, who went down with a hamstring injury yesterday. But the reports coming out this morning is that he will be ready for week one. However, we will say this. Carlos Williams, who was looking like he was going to take the job as the two, some kind of illness. It's going to be out for weeks. You know what it is. You know what it is. It's Fred Jackson poisoning him because Fred Jackson is like.
He just cannot go away. He has been, he was one of the, like, two guys that's been underdrafted for three straight years. And you just think, no way this year. They brought in Shady, Carlos Williams. Now they're talking about, I mean, there's some rumors. He's 74 years old. It's just amazing. He might have, if Shady was out, Fred Jackson's like a top 12 back to me. Really? Yeah. I wouldn't go that part. If he's been a top 12, the past few, I mean, he was a top 12 back two years ago. Yeah.
I mean, Rex Ryan is going to throw the ball to the running back. He's going to hand it to the running back. He becomes an immediate RB2 for me. At least. That'd be safe. Is this a coincidence or not? Lashon McCoy. And before, we saw CJ Spiller just could not stay healthy in Buffalo. So maybe the real fantasy reaper is Fred Jackson, which is so sad because Fred Jackson is like one of the nicest guys. You would never suspect him. Right.
It's the perfect cover. Oh, my goodness. So, you know, if you got shady, you're probably okay, but that's not good news. He doesn't get a play anymore this preseason. Maybe that is good news. The Ravens. John Harbaugh has said that the Brashad Perryman, rookie Brashad Perryman, his MRI has come back normal. That is good. We've seen Kevin White now go down for maybe the season. Perryman has a lot of opportunity in Baltimore, but it is good to, you know, he's been on the shelf.
Yeah, this is not good timing for Paraman. He needs to get these reps. He needs to get some preseason experience. They really, really need him in Baltimore. Yeah, without Tori Smith there. His camp tape has been pretty mixed, too. You got good reports and then followed by a bad report. So that stinks. If you want to pick a Ravens receiver to own for weeks one through eight, you can get a lot of value out of Steve Smith. Senor. Yeah, Steve Sinor. Is that Pat Mayo? Pat Mayo's dubbed him Sonor.
Uh, out of Vikings camp, just a note. Um, right tackle Phil Lodholt. Yeah. It has torn as it, uh, Achilles. That stinks. I hate seeing these guys go down. I mean, it just, it's every day. There's two or three guys. I mean, we recorded yesterday. This is all new news. And people are asking, what is the Peterson implication? Almost nothing. They got a rook in the fourth round. And he had, I can't recall his name off the top of my head, but he would, he dropped.
because of injury concerns, his talent level is there. So if that guy can stay healthy, he should be able to replace the talent at the right tackle position. So I'm not moving Peterson down at all. I want everyone to pay attention to this next bit of news out of Saints camp. Sean Payton has said that wide receiver, Brandon Coleman, will see first team snaps. There is, and we set it all off season, there is a huge opportunity for targets there. Drew Brees is going to have a Drew Brees season.
They might run a little bit more, but he is an accurate passer, and somebody's going to put up numbers, and you've got Marcus Colston and Brandon Cooks and Blank. And last year it was Kenny Stills and Jimmy Graham. And now Brandon Coleman, big body, guy that's had an opportunity all offseason to start pretty much ahead of Nick Toon, ahead of anybody else. So pay attention to what this next, I can't wait to see this next game and see what he looks like on the field.
Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing him this last game, and then he wasn't put in there. I was like, what is going on? So I'm excited by this, looking forward to hearing it. And I want to see, you know, where he's going to be drafted later in this preseason and see where his ADP is moving. If you want to know where people are being drafted, where you need to take a guy, if you're like, man, I really want Amir Abdullah, where am I going to need to take him? First round. First round. First round.
If you are Mike the Hitman, right. Didn't you hear the review that said we don't drawn on about one guy? I can't talk about him anymore. I apologize. Yeah. So.
