Fantasy Football 2017 - Week 9 Keep/Trade/Cut, Pump the Brakes, Devin Scrumptious

And Christian McCaffrey is still just a sponge for all those targets. Devin Funches moved from the full strength, when the Panthers are full strength, the fourth option to the third option, which is not very, it's not super exciting. It does certainly move him up. He's, he becomes that weekly, you know, high-end wide receiver three.

For Funches? Yeah. He's such a... He has a touchdown upside. That's what I was going to say. It's such a goal line threat on a team that cannot run the ball right now. But now you take Kelvin Benjamin out of that equation as the goal line threat as well. So, I mean, it moves him up, certainly, in my opinion. Yeah, I think Funches is an absolute must grab, try to acquire. So you're loving it. Yeah, I mean, don't mistake that. That's not saying I think he's going to be a wide receiver one. Scrumptious Fung. But what I do think is he's going to have so many.

Primary targets. You know, he will be the guy that now, he's already been, you know, averaging about eight targets a game. And he's been the number two. I think he will be the primary wide receiver here. And that primary wide receiver will usually have enough value for fantasy to be a startable asset week in, week out. I'm not.

I don't think he is going to be anywhere near a wide receiver one the rest of the way, but I think he'll be a solid weekly wide receiver too. So he's not Devin Scrumptious. Devin scrumptious. You're welcome. No. I like it. The question. At the end of the day. You know, that's a winner. Can we get a ruling here, Judge? Oh, yeah, Judge Giamatti. Devin scrumptious? I dig it. Yeah, baby. Look, Devin scrumptious himself.

Look, the question mark with him has been, do you start him? What has become of my life? Exactly. That's always been the question. Now you don't have a question. Now it's just start him. Lots of requests for the Calvin Benjamin side travels now to Buffalo on a five and two team Thursday night against the Jets could very well be a six and two team. I love the Buffalo Bills. Let me just, like from a fanboy perspective right now, I am a huge Buffalo Bail fan. When a team can ship out big pieces and coach themselves.

to, I mean, the amount of trash that Tyra Taylor has given, you know there are people in the Buffalo organization right now who, like, as they win, are grimacing and angry because they hate and want to see him fail. Oh, yes. And so here he is winning, and they're, dang it another win for Buffalo. And that's how they sound. Is this a major league situation? And listen, Kelvin Benjamin joins a team that has been successful with a great defense. Zay Jones has been.

He needs help. He needs to be able to move outside. And that's what this move does. This moves Calvin Benjamin. I'm sorry, he needs to be able to move inside. Calvin Benjamin now is the X. Z. Jay Jones comes into the Z. He doesn't get jammed off the line. Let's keep trade cut Calvin Benjamin right now. I would trade Kelvin Benjamin because some people are believing that this is an upgrade for Kelvin. I think this is a most definite downgrade for Kelvin Benjamin as as.

You know, sometimes you look at the Carolina offense, you think, okay, they don't throw the ball that much by comparison to, you know, the high-flying teams. They trump the Buffalo Bills, especially if you look at them passing specifically to the wide receiver position. And now, like you said, there's other options there. Does Kelvin come in and become that X? Yes. Does Kelvin come in and become that number one target? I don't know. Maybe. And if he does, how valuable is that? And Jason, just to go in what you're saying.

the bills have thrown the ball 44% of the time, lowest in the NFL. Yeah, there are 196 attempts on the year. Carolina was up at 270. And do you want Devin scrumptious or do you want Calvin Benjamin? That's a great question. I'd rather have Devin. But have you thought about this, Jason. What if they just have Calvin Benjamin run all the tight end routes? Hey, if they put them on the line and have them run out there, Mr. Super duper necessary. But that's not what.

is going to happen. That's not what they've talked about doing. They should. They should. That's not even a joke that those routes are what Tyrod looks for. You haven't seen much from him yet, but I'm just saying, I would be willing to take a flyer pickup on the waiver wire to say maybe he will gain a much more important role in the offense, just at least keep him on your radar. Got to clear that box out. Got to clear it out.

All right. Maybe that's what they're saying. He can't get out. He's not fast enough to get out of the way. He was playing inside there. Calvin can't stretch the field. All right. Let's talk about our favorite topic. We. Law and order. All right. Zekeo Elliott, the Southern District Court of New York denied a request for an emergency injunction. This is a round and round we go situation where Zeke is appealing after.

Then the NFL appeals. There's one last time. Yeah, one more decision. Hopefully we'll receive it by 4 p.m. today, our time, 7 p.m. Eastern. And this is from the second circuit. If this one fails for Zeke, it's done. It's over. You're suspended. You're gone for six games, Zeke. And the truth is, I mean, we don't know. We'll know soon, but I don't expect it to go in Zeke's favor. I believe Zeke will be suspended for six games. We'll find out soon enough.

I expect him to be suspended. I expect him to whatever happens there to be some sort of appeal by somebody. Yeah, no matter what, we're taking this to the Supreme Court. Bruce Ariens now says he expects David Johnson to miss the remainder of the year. Yeah, that sounds about right. So we didn't know. I think Carson Palmer going down the trajectory of the team, it lends itself to David Johnson's sitting. Danny Woodhead has resumed practicing. You're going to need that button over there. Uh-oh.

Oh, we got breaking news? We sure do. Breaking news. The Patriots have done it again. And Hoyer. Yep. They have signed Brian Hoyer as the backup officially. In any league format. I would only pick him up in a dynasty league if he's not already picked up because in those leagues, you're, you know, you're rocking 26 deep. You know, you're picking up scrubs and hopefuls. And look, if he gets reinstated, I'm not sure that he's going, even though he's still young, I'm not sure he's going to be valuable. So this is a true, you know, would you rather pick him up or, well, not now after the trade deadline, but the Calvin Johnson was.

Like, just as worthy a dynasty pickup, and I don't think it was a great dynasty pickup. But that's where I'd be looking for him. Brock Osweiler is going to start this week in the NFL. Seriously? Yes, he's been named the starting quarterback for week nine against the Eagles. Yeah. Go Eagles. That it. Yeah. Wow. Okay. Eagles defense. Honestly, I don't know that Brock Osweiler, I know Brock Osweiler is terrible, has played poorly now for a career.

I still believe that his median, where we've seen him most of the time, is better than what we've seen out of Trevor Simeon for the last three or four weeks. Trevor Simeon has, he's not been a below average quarterback. He's been horrendous. The last few games have been full dumpster fire, whereas Brock Osweiler is just a smoldering dumpster at all times. Yeah, I mean, if you're in a league that has punters, you better grab that Broncos punter because it's coming.

We're talking six punts a game. Minimum. At least. Genoris Jenkins suspended by the Giants for a violation of team rules. That's an indefinite suspension. That hurts their secondary. Just to follow up on the Brock situation, would you pick up AJ Derby? Because of Brock. Because of Brock only throwing to the tight end situation. This is not a player that has established himself, in my opinion, to the point where he's obviously got this role locked up as long as he's healthy. So let me ask you this. Would you trade Ty Montgomery for Isaiah Crowell? Absolutely. Would you trade Ty Montgomery for Alex Collins? I would. How the mighty have fallen. Yeah. What about you, Mike? You were the Time Montgomery Truther. Where do you stand on it? I mean, I agree. I think Aaron Jones has taken that job. And he's the better.
