to the fantasy footballers podcast with your host Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. Pandemonium. Two. Pandemonium. Moments before the show began, just trades happening in League of Record. People trading for big names, Jonathan Taylor, Lamar Jackson, Josh Jacobs.

0:49 ↗

So I'm throwing off a little bit because. Yeah, I know. This show doesn't exist. Right now it's just, gosh, people, people positioning for the stretch run. But I mean, that's what you guys are doing out there. Injuries galore this year. My super team has already lost two starters for the season. We lost another one yesterday with Terry.

1:16 ↗

Oh, yeah, Terry McClorent. I mean, yesterday was also when we got the news on Devante Adams. I don't think we got news. Yeah, sorry, I'm jumping ahead. I was so bummed out. Like, Terry, you know, you remember the Nick Chubb injury where it was like on the Cleveland when he got, and it was just like, it felt like everybody went. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's, that's how I feel about Terry. Because it's basically feels like a career. Yeah, but it's not like.

1:44 ↗

I love Terry McLauran, man. Like, I'm emotionally connected to this man. Here's what makes that situation. So those I didn't see 49ers, 23, Commander 17 last night. Terry McLaren went down with a minute, 40 left in the first quarter. Non-contact, immediately grabbed his knee. Yeah, it's, what I was going to get out was that the commanders were just lambasted. That's a word, right? Yeah. I think it's lamb-baseded, but sure. No, tomato, tomato, tomato. Tomato, tomato.

2:13 ↗

for not paying him in time. Right. Now, he was an older wide receiver when the contract got, you know, he came up, he was holding out. They bring him back. He has been worth, I mean, not his fault, got hurt, but also like, we're like, man, pay the man. Instantly, he comes back early, or sorry, he came back late, got the contract, instantly hurt, misses most of the year, comes back. Now this is a catastrophic injury.

2:43 ↗

I mean, how old is Terry McLaurin when he recovers from this? 32? Yeah, exactly. I mean, this is, they should not have paid him. They could have paid him as a reward for being there during the dog days. But I'm just saying, like, in retrospect, teams are put in a really tough position. Sure. When they have an older player that has done a lot for the team in the franchise and you want to pay them and reward them, but you know that the clock's against him. Of all the weeks, in the last two weeks now,

3:14 ↗

We have had, we did that study. Oh my gosh, I see where you're going. Yeah. So it was all this week. Yeah, it was all this week. One of the studies I did in the offseason was let's find out what happens to the oldest fantasy players that are drafted in the top six rounds years, years gone by. And like the super, super outlier Travis Kelsey's and stuff were the ones that performed. Derek Henry and Derek Henry. And Derek Henry. So.

3:43 ↗

The three names that wide receiver that were on that list. Devante Adams, who now tore his hamstring. That's the report, six to ten weeks. Mike Evans, who went out there hobbling and left immediately with an Achilles injury. Have we? I feel like I never seen that. With a catastrophic injury, all three were the three oldest wide receivers. Yeah. The Mike Evans injury, he didn't even go to the side. He just walked straight to the lockerer. He just got up and he was like.

4:12 ↗

I'll see you guys at halftime because I'm out of here. He knew. Yeah. And when you saw him in the back and the way he was walking, he was very scary. I assume he had fears of a torn Achilles. Thankfully, it's intact, but not healthy. They need to give him time. Kyle Shanahan already came out and was hopeful he'd play this week. Don't do it. I know. Calm down. You got a week eight, bye. I don't think Evans is the kind of guy anybody gets to say no to.

4:42 ↗

If Evans wants to play, they're like, sure. You know what I mean? You've earned it at a certain age. I agree, but also at this point, you should be able to say you're not allowed. Go ahead, suit up. I'm not putting you in the game. Yeah. You have to risk the loss. Well, for a team that's undefeated. Yes. 2317, dominant first half by the 49ers. Invisible offense in the second half. Seriously. By the 49ers.

5:05 ↗

Kiddle was 5 for 69 and a touchdown. Three for 94 for Evans before the injury. McCaffrey, nine catches, 16 carries. They are still managing his workload. They said something on the broadcast last night that illustrates. Well, yeah, it was managed because Kalin Black got eight carries. And it's also been managed all season. At this juncture of the season before last night's game, he had 130 opportunities on this team. He's had 80 in the same amount of games this year. So.

5:33 ↗

They are looking long term with McCaffrey because that's what you have to do. We just talked about three older players. When you have a three in front of your name, you're at a higher injury risk, you need to be managed for the long term. And they want to win a Super Bowl. They don't want to have like a record-breaking Christian McCaffrey season and then not have him for the playoffs. Yeah, I mean, it's smart, but it is absolutely wild that this is managing his workload. That's a 16 carries 10 targets. That is a monster workload.

6:02 ↗

He was everything for that team. But what is absolutely insane is that, yes, that is less than what they did last year. Yeah, I mean, yesterday, well, to put it, you guys are right. I mean, yesterday was the most opportunities he's had in a game. For context, the week before when they played Seattle in one, he had 14 opportunities. So the first five weeks of the season, he's averaging 17 opportunities a game this year. The first five weeks of the season last year,

6:32 ↗

He was averaging, no, not much more. Right around 1819 opportunities. But they needed him last night to close the game out. Not all of those touches were like high value touches. It was a lot of clock running out type of stuff. Yeah, but we'll take 10 targets. That's the good stuff. Some mismanagement by the commanders again. I mean, this was, they did it again. 100% Dan Quinn thought on one play that they could kick. No, no, no, today on his press coverage, he said, I knew it was fourth down.

7:02 ↗

He said, I was talking about other things. He said the word field goal. Yeah, no, it was, it was, I wanted a fourth down field goal. He explained that, but also, liar, liar pants on fire because the timing of it, you got really upset afterward. Like, you would have been upset when he threw the ball away, but you weren't. You were upset 20 seconds later. Yeah. When you certainly didn't find out it was fourth down, but also.

7:25 ↗

Daniels, like last week we were having the question. Is this a Dan Quinn or a Jay and Daniels problem? Who's at fault? Because they're both at fault, but who's more at fault? And now this week, who's at fault? They're both at fault. Who's on first? I don't know, but they're both dumb, dumbs. Let's have the fantasy discussion about the void left by the wide receiver, Terry McLaren. You have, you know, Diggs is very limited at this juncture of his career in terms of.

7:52 ↗

what he offers on the outside big plays. He's going to be a, he's going to be the possession guy. Yeah, I think he's, his floor just went up. It's, it's, I think it's super high. Now, I don't think his ceiling is high. Agreed. But his floor should be as good and as safe as just about anyone out there. I would expect for him to have nine targets every single game. Here's the problem that I would illustrate. And if he scores, you're going to be happy.

8:16 ↗

But it's very much like Keenan Allen and Indianapolis that nobody was fighting on the waiver wire for in the sense that the targets are always going to be there. If he doesn't score, you're going to have a game. It's going to be a lot of like seven for 51, six for 44. Last night he was six for 44. It's a full PPR play. I actually have a different opinion. Like Antonio Williams, you can go fight for him if you want to, right? He'll have opportunities. Traylon Burks actually looked really good. He'll have opportunities. Diggs, we talked about him.

8:42 ↗

Diamie Brown, they'll be involved. They may trade for somebody. BTJ is the rumor this morning to Washington. I think the biggest beneficiary on a week-to-week basis that may now be a startable asset is Chigacanquo. I think Chigacanquo is going to become that go-to-wide receiver slash. He could. He's always been an athletic freak, a big play type of guy, 69 yards receiving last night, seven targets, caught all seven of them. That's the name I wanted to just bring up. Yeah, absolutely. And the fact that he plays a position.

9:10 ↗

where if you go out there and have, you know, four for 66, Diggs line without the touchdown, you'd be happy at tight in because you can scoop that up off of waivers. The issue, and we'll talk about it, you know, when we get into the waiver wire segment here later in the episode, they go to buy. Yep. So picking up these players, Antonio Williams and Chigaconguo, they should be picked up, but you've got to consider that how good are they worth?

9:38 ↗

you know, being two weeks away, a stash, a roster spot. You know, it's not like what you're getting when Chig comes back is a league winning asset. I would be very surprised there. Yeah, I'll be very curious to see what happens if they're active in the trade situation. They're one in four now. The East has lost or tied. Every game they've played in the last two weeks. Crazy. Where are the commanders going? Where's Philadelphia going? Where are the Giants going? Like, you know, Dallas has been awful.

10:09 ↗

Dallas is probably my favorite to win the division at this point. Everyone is in it. I mean, the giants are having to deal with almost certainly a transition to J.J. McCarthy. That could work. It could also very much not work. Yeah, I mean, right now you've got a, I would imagine, I don't have the odds in front of me, I would imagine the Cowboys might be the favorite. Oh, perfect. Cowboys are plus 130, the Giants are 154. That makes perfect sense. And everybody else is.

10:36 ↗

Long shot. There was a comment last night by the beat reporter for the commanders. This is the worst I've ever seen a commander's offensive line. Well, this was a long time. Inoperable offensive. Oh, that was in the off season. Yeah, yeah. And then, so that was said. That's right. And we've seen what's going on with our offensive line. And then on a Hail Mary attempt. They can't even get the pass off. They rushed three guys. Oh, that was so embarrassing. They rushed three players against six blockers. And all three guys got to him. And Jade Daniels got smushed. I mean, it was.

11:06 ↗

It was an embarrassment. You had two offensive linemen blocking... Would you say it's inoperable? Yes. You had two offensive linemen blocking nobody, which kind of not their fault. They line up there, and there's no one there. But then you had two... You got to figure it out. You had two double-team the guy on the right who they both missed. I mean, it was... Jaden was actually driving for an opportunity to be inside the 20 with a couple shots at the end zone until that unbearable...

11:34 ↗

grounding. Yeah, they did, yeah, they did get bailed out on a, on a penalty here or there. But it turned into a fun game from what was such a boring game. And also, I just got to, dude, Fred Warner. What do you want to say? He's unbelievable. He is, the defense is decimated. I just got to say his name. The defense is decimated for the Niners and they look like the best defense in all of the land. I just got to say.

12:00 ↗

He van der Lefield. Exactly. Exactly. I was going to come in and say, Mustafa last night, the safety? Dude, number one. Number one, that guy's biceps are out of this world, and he made some freaking plays, dude. It was awesome.

12:23 ↗

Mufasa, okay. Oh, that's what the joke was. Okay, okay. That was Jason's joke, yeah. Yes, Swiss. Simba. This is CNN. We have, we have NFL news to cover. We've got a waiver-wire show, and we've got shenanigans throughout. We'll see if more trades happen in our league. We can tell you what happened shortly. Let's talk news. News and notes from around the league. What happened before the...

12:55 ↗

Before the show began is that Jason managed to trade a TBD but should be good Josh Jacobs to the Packer fan in the room and Lamar Jackson away to Al. I was only able to do that. He's making his run. Mike managed to trade his draft capital to acquire Jonathan Taylor, which he's pretty good. Now, ironically, there are trade rumors around Jonathan Taylor that happened this morning.

13:23 ↗

Did you see the specific team? The Seahawks. It was the Seahawks. Oh, that would be a waste of my draft picks. It's so sad. It was just rumors about price and a pick for Jonathan Taylor. You know, the best part. The funniest part. The funniest part of this is Seattle would, if they did, they would trade for Jonathan Taylor, elite workhorse running back on top tier running back contract, and they would put him in a platoon.

13:52 ↗

They probably would. No, no. They would not. They would not platoon Jonathan Taylor. He would not tolerate such things. They realized their mistake with Ken Walker. It is as evident as the sky is blue. I hope so. They are three and three. The Walker meeting, we're still waiting for an apology. But anyways, that's what happened on a league of record and more trades to come, I'm sure. News-wise, J-CM went on injured reserve bill, which sucks. Yeah, so Rashad White.
