The Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. Just sharp, quick, and biting. It was biting, wasn't it? It was a good cheddar. You know, it was just like. A sharp one? A sharp one? Yeah. Award winning. Wait, we're not back to cheese, are we? I've never left. Welcome to the cheese podcast.

1:56 ↗

Oh, we're back. Tuesday, February 22nd, the fantasy footballers. Mike Wright, Jason Moore, Andy Holloway, the judge, the owl. We're all here. And happy to be back. It's good to be back. Yeah. How are you guys doing? We're doing fantastic. Fresh off the FSGA trip in Las Vegas, which that is a, if you're not aware of that, that's a, like the industry.

2:25 ↗

Fantasy sports and gaming association. Yeah, you know, where if you're in the fantasy biz, you join up and then twice a year you get to go meet up with some people and play foosball. Well, yes. There is the, yes. Well, some people tried to play foosball. But there also, they had some awards as well. And we were reliant upon the foot clan for one for the social media award, which I mean.

2:51 ↗

If you're relying upon the Foot Clan for anything, that one's all done. They don't miss. The nice thing is we've said this for seven, eight years, however long this has been, the Foot Clan is undefeated. And the Foot Clan is still undefeated. If you, if y'all vote, we have never not won whatever award. Never not voting. Never not voting. We won a couple other awards, which were great. We got the audio podcast, but. And video. Yes. Yes. But the main.

3:21 ↗

Yes. The main award, which really took some, I want to say blood, sweat and tears, but it took very little for us. Very little effort. I may have perspired slightly. Yeah, I mean, I usually am perspiring, so I'm sure it's also true of me, but they had the- Just no blood or tears. Oh, no. First ever foosball tournament within the industry, and we've...

3:45 ↗

I mean, this is such great news for us because we're really good at foosball. And so we won. Mike and I took that down. Yeah, I don't know what it says about a human life when you're that good at foosball, but we are. And I told, I told Brooks on the footcast that I didn't praise you because you don't praise people for something that's supposed to happen. That's right. As you said.

4:09 ↗

You don't celebrate the sun coming up. You just expect it to happen. It just does. So I said maybe if you'd shut everybody out or something, I'd praised you, but you did what was expected. You don't celebrate it, but you can admire a good sunrise. Oh, absolutely. It was gorgeous, Mike. It was gorgeous. And I had a great view on that last point from the side taunting the enemies. How big was the tournament? I need to know that. Not big enough. Okay. I think there was like 10? Yeah, I would guess not. 10 teams. All right.

4:37 ↗

Did you lose any games? No, get out of here. I'm just making sure. There were no professionals there. This was good. There was two. This is good that I wasn't there because we, how would we have picked? You would have had to go onto a different team. So you would have had to lose. That's, that's unfortunate. I say that because you were the one who wasn't there. Yes, I got you. Otherwise, we would just, we would just like rotate every point. Yeah, that would be fun. Welcome into the show. It's foosball and cheese season.

5:07 ↗

Fuseball and cheese. Judge, you were out of town this weekend as well. Yes, sir. Had yourself a birthday. Yeah. Happy birthday, Judge. I'm the big three five now. Three five. Uh-oh. Looking it down. The big three five, huh? Sounds like a new Paramount Plus show. That's actually three foot five. Okay. How are you doing now? I'm good. Do you do anything this weekend? I'm doing some rental on a new house. Okay.

5:33 ↗

All right, everyone's busy. Quick question for the day coming up momentarily. UltimateDraftGit.com. I want to remind you the UDK, the tool most relied upon to dominate your draft, the draft day experience, and all of the research beforehand. It's available now for pre-sale. And here's the deal. If you order it before March 10th, so you've got a little bit of time here. So go over to ultimatedraftgate.com. You get the lowest price.

6:03 ↗

And you get a bunch of perks. And if you do it before March 10th, you get a chance to win a listener league spot and play with us this year. Which we did not win it this year. That is true. Which means there's an extra spot open for you to claim. No, it does. No. It's the opposite. Yeah. Oh, that we, that's right. We did not win it this year. That's backwards. Which means that the champion gets to stay. So there's one few fewer spot. You got, you better. So get in. See.

6:34 ↗

You want to redo it? Yeah, which means it's even more exclusive when you win at Ultimate DraftKit.com. It's been a long weekend. You said you did not make good choices. You were watching some television late in the night. Late into the morning. Yes, the Yellowstone had to be completed. You started watching shows at one in the morning. More episodes, yeah. Okay. You're a wild man. He is.

7:04 ↗

Trying to get it all in before his next birthday. That's what I think. Ooh. His youth. Finish it up. Because I'll be dead. News and notes from around the league. We'll get into the quick question after the news. Oh. We're going to cover this first. Per usual where we put it after the news. That's right. The commander's this is. Look, we haven't done a morning show in quite some time. Boy, you're telling me.

7:39 ↗

There's some other news that I'm going to start with, which is this ambiguous Aaron Rogers Instagram post that, you know, if it wasn't Aaron Rogers and his Aaron Rogers'ness, I would, you know, you could take this as a sign he's walking away. Now, I don't know if this is leverage. I don't, it was just a very exhaustive gratitude post. It was the thank you to everybody everywhere, right?

8:09 ↗

But it was, I mean, when you are saying those thank yous, yes. It's usually in conjunction with a goodbye. It's thank you and goodbye. And so that's why people are, does this mean he's retiring? Does this mean he's leaving the Packers? His final picture of the 10 pictures that he posted was a picture of basically the spot where Aaron Rogers usually stands, but he was missing. And so people are reading into it. The reality is this. He loves attention and he's got it. He seems to.

8:39 ↗

Yeah. So that's what I was going to say. This is more of like a thank you and give me your eyes. Somebody brought up that, you know, if he retires, if it's a walk away retirement, you'd end up going into the Hall of Fame in the same year as Tom Brady. Yeah, he's not. I don't think he likes that. No, he would walk away and then put in his retirement paperwork next year. So we'll see a lot of rumors, a lot of teams would love to have Aaron Rogers, obviously. How did you get a read on the,

9:09 ↗

that post owl as the resident packers fan uh i don't think he's going anywhere but i think he just likes the spotlight but a lot of my wisconsin family was texting this morning saying they thought maybe they're worried he is going to walk yeah there's some panic yep farvo come back they'll be fine uh the combine starts next week that is super exciting there was a momentary um belief that there was going to be kind of a holdout if you will from many of the

9:39 ↗

competitors of the combine. Because the NFL instituted this kind of forced bubble, the NFL has walked that back. So we should have, unlike last year, a pretty much full combine at this point. NFL free agency in two to three weeks. So that'll be exciting. Franchise tag window is open now. Man. So that news. What an off season that was. Yeah.

10:07 ↗

We have some reports, multiple reports actually, that the commanders. Manders. Thank you. Salamanders. Want to re-sign impending free agent J.D. McKissick. Makes sense. You know, you look at Antonio Gibson and you look at the level of, I would say, the workload. And it makes for an interesting dynasty discussion overall where he just, he's one of the most used backs despite the.

10:37 ↗

We were talking about Gibson, not McKissick. He said McKissick. No, you missed your window. Not as an illegal. Any time in the 30 seconds after the name is mentioned. I think he filled in the Madlib there because I said in spite of the. Oh. And then I think he hit it. So I took a poll about 5,000 of you weighed in and I was surprised. What was the question? The question was, what is?

11:05 ↗

Antonio Gibson in a dynasty, a buy sell or hold. Before I answer the poll results, if neither of you have seen it. I have not. What do you believe he is? I believe he is a hold. I believe the poll, it will react to the news and say that he is a sell. I think he's a buy. So I expected more in the buy camp. Only 12% said buy, 42% hold, 45% sell.

11:30 ↗

When you see that level of work. That means you go trade for him right now. Personally. Yeah, I kind of agree with that. I don't, I'm not intimidated by McKissick returning or not returning. I'm more intimidated by health and other reports that they may bring in another veteran free agent. Like if you go buy him now and then they bring in. Fournet. Yeah, somebody like, which they could. Fournet, that would be devastating. If it was someone like four net, he's been hurt a lot.

11:59 ↗

Yeah, I mean, he forced his way through the season. He only actually missed one game. I know. Even though he was often on the injury report. And even if McKissick comes back, you know, it certainly stops the hope of, you know, third down dominance. Right. Where it's like, oh, Antonio Gibson, three down running back has an elite pass catching ability and he's good on the ground as well. So maybe that goes away.

12:29 ↗

But he was still utilized a lot in the passing game, a decent amount, I should say, before McKissick had his injury. And he was solid for fantasy football. So the top five, perhaps that hope and that dream for Antonio Gibbs. And that goes away. But that does, but he's still a top 15 guy. Yeah, I agree. And he, I mean, just the workload. There's very few backs that got as much work as he did. They need to find a quarterback. And rumors about that.

12:57 ↗

What else? Joe Burrow doesn't need surgery. That's good. The MCL sprained from the Super Bowl and then Zach Taylor was extended, which if you make the Super Bowl, your agent runs to the office to get that thing done. It's basically a guarantee. And what else? Anything else in the news front we need to talk about? Kirk Cousins likely to remain the starting quarterback for 2022, although there were rumors this morning about the Panthers calling about Kurt Cousins. Some teams getting desperate. I think...

13:26 ↗

I think the most desperate teams are the Washington commanders and the Carolina Panthers. Manders, yeah. Yeah. Anthers. So I was looking through the free agent quarterbacks because there's, I mean, there never really is, but it's like someone is going to be a bridge quarterback for some of these teams. Sure. For a one year start or something. Yeah, and saw some chatter on Twitter people talking about it of like, Trabiski might get another shot. Probably should.

13:56 ↗

Yeah, he's better than, I mean, as much as I enjoyed making fun of Trubisky, and I will enjoy it again. Certainly. He is better than some of the starters in the NFL right now. He got to the playoffs twice, I believe. Yeah. So, I mean, yeah, he can obviously manage, and maybe he learned a thing or two with Brian Dable and Josh Allen, and that could have been good for him. So I do think he is.
