To the fantasy footballers podcast coming to you from the Playdraft Studios with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Ah, 500. 500 shows.
It's incredible. It feels like 600, am I right? Yep. Well, in fairness, we don't count our Thursday footcast, though, so it really is. It probably is about 600, at least. Jay Gris, Jay Gris is in the house this morning. We invited him by for show 500. He's not normally here unless one of you guys are missing or I'm missing. He's here in all his glory. No, he's full eight foot. Jay Gris right now. Back behind me. It's a little bit scary when I look at the monitor.
He's like, oh, there's a bear! He's just making sure that I take care of my business over here on the hosting side. Otherwise, he'll eat me, which is not good. And then step in. That's what bears do. That's what bears do. They just eat humans. A lot of people don't know that. That's the primary purpose of bears. Primary food source. Primary food source that go in the stream and they wait for people. To swim. Swimming people in rivers. Don't swim upstream in bear country.
There you go. And that summarizes 500 shows in one moment. We've got the rest of the matchups today for week 15, your playoff matchups. So that's fantasy forecast. We've got the Daily Dose draft. We're going to do an expert draft later today. We've got news and notes, in and out. And we're going to do a little something special. Judge Giamatti himself has put together a little bit of a highlight video towards the end of the show. So if you want to hear some of the moments from the previous 400.
99 episodes. He's put together some of the fun ones. It turned out really well, Brooks. Are you proud of your work? Yeah. Thanks for asking, Andy. Thanks for saying that. Yeah. No, you did a great job. Yeah. And this is more historical stuff. So if you're new to the show and maybe you don't know the inside jokes or you just love the inside jokes, watch them. But this goes back to the beginning. If you're on YouTube,
You get an extra special treat because you get to see us. I don't know if I want them on YouTube for those. No, no, no, you don't because you get to see our set go from a bedroom like to slightly better to real. What's fun about the set is it expands, right? Right. Gets bigger. Just like the host of the show. Hey, Jason, so you weren't always a chubby guy. That's true. You may notice a little difference.
in our weight class. But I mean, as a podcast, we've gone up in a weight class. We're heavyweight now. And I think that's great. Yeah. Yeah, well, the set, the early set was welterweight. That was a welterweight set. So you'll enjoy that if you're over on YouTube, which you can find us there. We're on Twitter at the FF Ballers. It is Friday, so. Ooh. Put Clan Friday. Congratulations to Daniel Olson. Ooh, Greg's brother.
Daniel Olson, yes, Greg Olson's brother, because that's obviously a family connection. Because this is the...
The full panic alarm. This is the final day. Footclanvote.com. Drop us a quick vote for best social media presence from the FSTA. As is always the case, I think it would be really cool if we won. And Mike is his life is hinging on this vote. Right. Awards sustain my life.
Yes, you like them. So footclan vote or footclan vote.com and you can get in on that vote. Last day is today. Don't let me die. All right. Thursday night football game. Watch this game last night. I'm sorry. Look, if I've said it once, I'll say it a million times. You start Brock Osweiler to win your playoff matchups. Did you guys know that the score that Brock Osweiler put up put him at QB5 for last week?
Well, yeah, he had 35 fantasy points. I mean, three touchdowns. Brock Osweiler is going to end up as a top five fantasy quarterback. There's a reason I thought, I told you this on the show. I thought a little bit about Trevor Simeon in this game. Now, Simeon threw a terrible interception. By the way, that sky cam that they do on NBC now, it really illuminates poor throws if you make a poor throw. Because you can see the progression and you can see what he saw. What were you thinking? And you can go, oh.
You should have not thrown the ball anywhere near that. He had one. Jacobi Brissette had just this one didn't really get highlighted, but you saw baby hands breaking it to the outside to where there was just absolute nothingness. And he was all alone. But he, Jacobi checked it down. So it is very interesting to see these plays. You also had injuries that kind of littered the night. And we're going to get into your one moment of gloating in a minute.
But, look, Frank Gore, he got injured with a knee injury. He came out. He only had 10 attempts for 31 yards, though. Yeah, he did. But not a good game. Doyle got you by. Yes. Seven receptions. But that's what you're hoping for. You are hoping to just get by. Of course, a touchdown would have been nice. But if you're in a half or a full point PPR, I would be very happy with what Doyle did. Demarius Thomas disappointed? He got you by, but he didn't do anything special. He didn't ruin your week, yeah, but.
The worst part about Brock's success is it didn't benefit anyone that you started for fantasy football. No, it didn't because you had what? The 54-yard touchdown to a fullback? Harmon. And then Cody Latimer finally, hey, Cody Latimer did something. You're about three years too late, Cody on all the hype. Much like my must-start Brock Osweiler take, again.
C.J. Anderson, what a talented running bat. Yeah, there it is. A beast of a night. You give him 30 carries and he has a heck of a night. But he ran wonderfully. Skycam revealed that 30 for 158. That's the thing. Normally when a guy has like has 30 carries, you're not expecting him to be over five.
A carry. And this wasn't on the heels of one long run. His long on the night was 16 yards. That meant he was just grinding out huge chunks. So is he now established as an RB2 for the final two weeks? Because the workload's his. Yes. I would say yes. They are now showing that they are playing to win, that they've seen enough. Jamal Charles was a non-factor and it's a two, you know, a two running back show here.
where C.J. Anderson is getting the bulk of the work, and then Booker comes in to spell him a little bit. And we've said, you know, Mike and I've said all year, if C.J. Anderson would get the work. If you know he's going to get the work, he's a great running back, a great fantasy option. So I'm 100% fine playing C.J. Anderson. I'm still leery of the trust. It was a nice game, but the problem hasn't been. I disagree. Oh, you're saying for C.J. Anderson. Yeah, I said it was a nice game for C.J. Anderson. The problem has just been.
workload. Now, they played a very, we have to remember, we have to contextualize this. They played a very bad Colts team. Well, their Colts rush defense has been okay lately. But they were in a position where they could give the ball to the running backs 41 times. So that's the situation you'd have to be careful of. If it's a three to one split, but they only carry the ball 25 times, you're less excited about the production. But I do put them in the RB2 back in RB2 category. Only because the workload. The workload was there. So let's get into the news.
News and notes from around the league. All right, not a ton of news before we get into in and out, but Adrian Peterson is on the injured reserve. The Cardinals placed him on the IR with the neck injury. They didn't want to waste a 53-man roster spot anymore with no progression in his injury recovery. And so Kerwin Williams gets to finish the years, the lead back in Arizona. It just...
leaves you scratch in your head a little bit about the Ellington release in the middle of the season. But Jordan Matthews underwent left knee and right ankle surgery on Thursday. He's going to be a free agent, not the way he wanted to become a free agent. He's on IR for the bills, and he was irrelevant all year along. Another reminder, game day alerts, one hour before kickoff at Jointhefoot.com. Mike will be on Periscope an hour before answering your last minute questions, giving you any tips and tricks that he's come up with that morning.
There's always a few. Yeah, he's a, you're a, what, a life hacker? That's what the parascopes about. Yeah. Just how to live. Yeah, I teach you like, what's the best way to? L-I-I-N. Are you in the wilderness? You need to cook beans? That's the kind of stuff you can get. Jump on the periscope. All right, guys, injury updates. What's it going to claim it fly? Are you in or out? All right, make fly. Alvin Camara.
In. Even Sean Payton expects Camarra to play. He still has to be officially cleared, but shouldn't be dramatic? No, no. He's in. Fournette. This one's getting a little scary. Missed Wednesday, missed Thursday. You see his comments, though? I'm sure he says he's fine. His comments are that he's fine. Yeah. Hey, Brooks, if you happen to see, because that, you know, that practice is probably taking place soon, if you happen to see anything on four net, let us know.
Drop us a line, dial our voicemail hotline. I'm watching the Twitter. I expect him to play, but that's at least mildly concerning. Protect yourself. Soft tissue, you know, injuries. Like, we'll see with Juju having showed up again with the hamstring issue. Those scare me for starting a guy. Like, I will drop them a couple spots in my rankings. Those tiny hamstrings. Because of the ability to go out play, start, and then re-agravate it during the game.
You want to pay attention to soft tissue issues for recurrence and miniaturized parts of the hamstrings, the knees, if anything's miniaturized. I mean, kudos to Jack Doyle for overcoming. The baby hands? Yeah, the miniaturized teams. That's something you pay attention to. What's that movie coming out? Downsize. That looks really funny to me. It just came to mind when I was. That does look funny. All right, Tevin Coleman, Joe Mixing. So Tevin Coleman has a practiced. I believe he's still in the concussion protocol. Now he is a Monday night game.
That seems like a bad situation to hedge. I mean, if you have Mohammed Sunu and Coleman's a flex, you can protect yourself there. Yeah, definitely get them out of your running back spot for sure. Fill some other running back in there, leave them in your flex. I would agree with Joe Mixen. Yeah, would you replace Kevin Coleman with Joe Mixing right now? Yeah, I would because Joe Mixen returning to practice. Usually we see this progression through the concussion protocol where they are allowed to practice. They are involved. And that helps them.
