I posted this on the 5th. And so I want to discuss it with you guys. And so here it is. Mel Gordon had 12 plus carries in 9 of 16 games last year. In the games in which he had 12 or more carries, Danny Woodhead averaged 36 yards receiving. It's not good. So we talk a lot about Danny Woodhead, especially in half point and full point per reception leagues. The fact that he has been a consistent force and fantasy, but we lean on his receiving game.

And so tell me, what do you think about Mel Gordon? If he is given that role and does something with it, are we going to see Woodhead in that bus category? My first question is when did he become Mel Gordon, as opposed to Mel Gordon? When Twitter acquired 140 characters. That is exactly when he became Mel Gordon. So what I would say to that is there is still hope.

Because a couple years back, it was the Danny Woodhead slash Ryan Matthews show in San Diego. And that's when Ken Wisenhunt was the offensive coordinator. He left for Tennessee. Failed again in spectacular Wisen Hunt fashion and is now the offensive coordinator, which he is a great.

offensive coordinator and like I said both Ryan Matthews and Danny Woodhead had monster years that year Woodhead had over 400 on the ground and over 600 receiving yards so I think that that Wiz and Hunt is okay having the roles for the guy and not just saying Melvin Gordon you're the three down guy go get it done young man instead of having he will have

It's places for Gordon and Woodhead. Now, Jason, Jason was shaking his head when I brought up the idea of a bust. Yeah, he's not going to be a bust for sure. I don't think you can really draft a bust when it's, you know, seventh round and past. They might do bad, but you just don't feel like you've had a bust at the end of the day. However, I don't believe it's going to be like that. I see Danny Woodhead, if we're talking about Mel Gordon, I would call Danny Woodhead the, he would be the Glover.

The Mel? The lethal weapon? Danny Glover? Yes, he would be the Danny Glover to Mel. He's getting too old? Mel Gibson. He's old, but he's still great.

And he's going to do just fine. Here's what I think about when I look at last year for the Chargers. The Chargers had this really weird season, right? They come out and they look like they're a team that can compete. They can be in the running for the playoffs from, you know, I guess before game one. And then they start and the season does not go well. And so then they really just chip everything over to Gordon and say, we've got to see what we've got here. Then he gets injured. So there was kind of like...

three different segments of their season, and they had dealt with so many injuries. So I look at the beginning of last year and say, how did they split those carries up? How did they use those guys? The first five games of the season last year, you had Gordon with plenty of work. Only one of those games was below 12 carries, so he was getting the work. And those first five games, Danny Woodhead was fantastic for fantasy value. He had four of the five games were double-digit fantasy points.

and most of the time around the 14 to 20 mark. I don't, you know, the bus language is kind of semantical because I realize he's not a bust if he's drafted later, but if we prop a guy up on this show, it's an expectation bust, whether or not it's a tangible bus for the listener. So you guys don't think it's going to be a big deal. You think Woodhead is going to have his role. I think he still has his role, and he excels in that role. All right, easy enough. Let's go ahead and get into the news.

News and notes from around the league. All right. Mike told me to audit this news list because he said he put a lot in there, and I only took one little bit of news out because I thought it was all pretty relevant. Let's start here with Julian Edelman. They said that sources in New England have said he will be ready for training camp. Yeah, ready. Good news. Yeah, that's a tremendous news. Now the only thing we need to pay attention to is the Tom Brady suspension. Will that stick?

Or will Julian Edelman again be a value for fantasy football drafts? Yeah, the Tom Brady suspension is really what's on my mind. Let me ask you guys this, because I just drafted. I was down between Julian Edelman and Sammy Watkins in a PPR league, and I pulled the trigger on Sammy Watkins. I had not seen this news yet, but between everything, where would you go? It's a very interesting foot injury conundrum you had going on with a pair of them. You took Sammy Watkins? I did.

I think I'm... It was best ball, so I won a big blowup games. Oh, he's going to have bigger, higher ceiling games. I would have gone with Stanley Walker. Yeah, because it's an MFL. If you're talking a regular draft head-to-head Watkins... Here's what's funny about that. That's tough, man. And this may make no logical sense, which would be the first time ever for me on the show. I feel like if I had...

to pick one of them to be my one, I'd pick Sammy Watkins. And if I had to pick one of them to be my two, I'd pick Julian Edelman. No, I totally get that. Because you want that one who can really put up those game-winning weeks. And in that second slot, you want consistency. That's kind of how I build my roster. It's funny, though. Because you would think if you want them to be your one, you'd want them to be your two. There's certainly some logical inconsistency there. But it's just a matter of the makeup of how you design your team. And I think it's important to, you know, if you want to really compete.

At the end of the year, with rosters, you're going to be going against good rosters in the playoffs. You have to have a one who can put up monster numbers. And so speaking of making up on a bad season, let's talk about Jordan Cameron, who took a vacation last year. Oh, man. He was gone, actually. He was gone. The entire season spent a year in Egypt. He was just touring, and now he's back, or is he? It says he took a pay cut because he spoke to Julius Thomas.

who told him he has to play for Adam Gase. I like that emphasis. So I guess that means Adam Gase is good for tight-ins. Well, yeah. I mean, we have several years of history here with Julius Thomas, Marty Miller. Marty Bennett, the unknown Zach Miller, who basically hadn't touched the football field in years, all of a sudden becomes fantasy relevant and earns a new contract out for that work.

So Jordan Cameron, an athletic stud, he has failed miserably in Miami. So he's just, he is a name to monitor where you shouldn't be surprised if he becomes something. And if he does not, then a guy like Dion Sims could step up. The tight end is just is a big part of what Adam Gase does. Two thoughts on Jordan Cameron. One is that, you know, is he a sign of what we'll see from Travis Benjamin where you are kind of the only.

show in town in Cleveland and as soon as you land on a new team, you disappoint on expectations because Cameron left a great situation in Cleveland didn't show up here. I think that he's one of those guys we talked about it last week where Cameron could be one of the reasons why we would be disappointed in Devante Parker. Because Cameron takes work. Like when you look at the narratives of why you might be disappointed in the second year of Devante Parker, it could be Cameron who comes out into that scene. I don't expect Cameron to
