News and Notes from Around the League. All right, we got another guy, you know, and that's good. Man, I don't even know what to start with here. Well, we should start with. There was... Fantasy implications everywhere. We need to move it back because there was some really inconsiderate timing from Philadelphia and Buffalo, who I believe just after we finished our podcast decided to make a blockbuster trade. Yes. Yes. LaShawn McCoy. Maybe you've heard of him. Maybe. He is a Buffalo Bill.

What do you think about this, Jason? I think it's a little shady. You see what I did there? I think that I'm actually a little disappointed in the deal for Shady for myself. I believe that his actual fantasy production is going to take a hit.

from what it would have been in Philadelphia this year. And I think his average draft position is going to take a bump because he's going to be getting all the carries and they're going to be excited about being a Rex Ryan offense. So I think that's kind of the... What does he get a bump from? What was he last year? Probably number three? No, no, no. I don't mean a bump from last year. I mean a bump from where he would have been if he would have been in Philadelphia. Oh, certainly. So this coming season, I think, you know, people, someone in every draft.

will get excited enough to bump him up one or two because they're going to believe in that offense and they're going to grab him. And so for where you're going to need to grab him just because of news, really any news that's going to cause someone to grab him, I think I don't like it for me. I do not like it either for Sean McCoy. That's strange. That's really strange. I wrote an article on this. You did. I was going to go through some of those numbers. Before you get to your why I don't like it. The Eagles.

had, which everyone thinks the Cowboys have the best offensive line in football, but when you're talking about grading out for run blocking, the Eagles had the best offensive line in the league. With that, LaShawn McCoy, even though he, I guess he finished with an okay yardage total, he struggled throughout the season more than he was successful. I believe he finished with 4.2 yards per carry. That's correct.

He was down from 5.1 the year before. And he's going from the best blocking line to the worst in the league. Really? The worst? Yeah. I did not know. The Buffalo Bills graded out as the worst run blocking team last year. Does that matter for a running bank? Sarcasm. So I just, I think that Shady is actually on the downside of his career.

He relies on shiftingness. I mean, he's not a power back. I just don't see him having the high-level running back one success in Buffalo. Obviously, he's going to get the carries, and fantasy football is all about opportunity, volume, get carries. So he's going to get points. Fred Jackson is still there. And I just, I don't see, I don't see LaShawn McCoy returning.

high-end running back one. Andy, sell us on it. Yeah, I can sell you on it really easily. And it's funny because I have a tempered view of LaShawn McCoy over there. I'm not the guy saying go out and draft him as a top five running back. But I can almost guarantee he's going to be a top ten running back in Buffalo. And for a number of reasons, if you looked at, if you read my article on the fantasy footballers, I just looked at Rex Ryan and his historical rush attempts per game for the six years he was in New York. They were number one, number four, number...

22, 12, 6, and 3, he likes to run the ball. We all already know that. Last year, you talked about Fred Jackson, right? Fred Jackson's 33 last year. He missed some games. He was the number 20 fantasy running back in Buffalo. So all things considered with that line, Shady just got a new deal. They brought him in. I expect him to have a year not 5.1 to carry.

But a year that is very similar fantasy production as last year, which puts him at 7, 8, 9, 10. And that's where I think people should be drafting him.

Yeah, and I would love to get him. If I can get shady at 9 or 10, maybe even a value thing for you. Absolutely. I completely agree with you that he is pretty much a lot to be top 10, and you want security for that pick. So if you do want to grab him at 6, at 5 as far as 5th or 6 running back, I don't have a problem with that, but I'm not going to. But if I can grab him at 8 or 9, I would be happy with that. But I believe that he's going to go as the fifth running back off the board.

Because in each draft, someone will want the magic. And so they're going to overdraft them. Now, not at the risk of sounding overly shocking, which that's not what I'm going for, because I haven't completely done my rankings yet, filed everything out. It will not surprise me at all if LaShawn McCoy is not in my top 12. I mean, I guess we'll have to check.

The Fantasy Footballers.com to see those rankings real soon. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how those rankings shake out. And obviously a lot of that's going to have to do with the landing spot for some of these guys that we're seeing today. And free agency, Adrian Peterson, DeMarco Murray, Ryan Matthews, some of these other Frank Gore guys that we're going to talk about today, you know, where they land is going to depend on where you might put Shady. I think there will be hype around Shady, obviously, but I still think he's going to have a productive year. I don't think...

You know, I'm not going all the way off of him by any means. Yeah, and I'm not doing that either. I'm just saying the value-wise. Where he's going to be drafted like Jason's talking about, it's going to be, I would imagine no later than middle first round, and I just don't think he's going to return from that draft position. I would rather have Jeremy Hill than LaShaught. That's a bold statement. And you're talking to Jeremy Hill's number one. You know, that's an interesting.

An interesting comparison, actually. And a lot of it has to do with offense, too, right? I mean... Age to me. Well, Shady's 27. 27 is the age that running back start going downhill. No, no, no, no. No. We're having this... That might be... We had this debate last year. I did all these numbers last year when we talked Marshawn Lynch, and who was right about Marcia Lynch? Lynch. But he's a powerback. Lynch is... Oh, but... There's exceptions to every single rule just like Adrian Peterson, Marshaun Lynch. But when you talk about...

average of league. When you're talking about running back. It's more often 28, 29. It used to be 30. It seems to be going down. But, again, 4.2 doesn't exactly stink. Neither did 1,300 yards, 400 through the air, like last year. Does when you draft him number two. That's, no, it does. But it doesn't stink as a running back. You say he's declining. I just don't think, I think there was something wrong in that offense. But we could debate LaShawn McCoy all day. Yeah, we had a lot of people. Didn't we have a bet? Isn't there some bet we had about Shady? I don't, I don't, did we?

No, what was the bet we were talking about this week doing and we were going to bring it on the air? Well, that's right. I thought it was a Sean McCoy related. It was. Yeah, it was a top. Top ten. No, no, no. Top, because I agree. Top ten. You were saying you would bet him top five. No, I would not bet him top five. Oh, you hear it here at first. He'd walking back on these bets. It's ridiculous. He won't bet top five. So my entire article says that he's going to get 1,300 yards on the ground, 400 through the air, and we'll be in the top 10 range, but I bet you top five?

I don't think so. I don't think so. That's betting bold. All right. Let's move on. Let's move on and talk about everybody's favorite wide receiver, Brandon Marshall, is now a New York Jet. Trated for a fifth round pick. What can he do there with Eric Decker? And Todd Bowles has the new head coach and that offense. I still believe that Marshall can produce high-end wide receiver two.

if not in the lower wide receiver one category. The Jets, they are suddenly interesting to me. I already really liked Decker. I think he's more talented the people give him credit for. You like Marshall more than Decker, though, right? Yeah. Yeah, but I was saying you add in Marshall, and now you have two actual capable wide receivers for Gino, and Brandon Marshall has his catch radius is.

It's amazing. So you just have to get the ball near him, and assuming he has his head right, which leads me to my biggest point for Brandon Marshall is, does he want to be an elite receiver anymore? The one who can stop Brandon Marshall is Brandon Marshall. We saw him go to Miami and just melt down. Now, his personal life is...

He's pretty open about it. It's been well documented. The football life on him was fantastic. Does he have everything in check to the point where he's still going to have that drive for success? Because if he wants to be top level, he will be. Well, he didn't want to be top level. I mean, he melted down, as you said, in Miami in both years. He had over 80 catches and over 1,000 yards. I think that...
