Let's get right into our interview of the day. Let's talk to Mangold. You talking to me? The fantasy footballers are now joined by professional NFL center, Nick Mangold. So, Nick, we actually, we're a fantasy football show, and we talk about the center position, I think, more than most, because we understand how important a center is to an offensive line. But can you talk through all the responsibilities that a professional NFL center takes care of? Sure, I think we'd need all that in there. We'll take the cliff notes.

I think the biggest thing is that you believe yourself to be the quarterback of the offensive line. So you've got to let everybody on the offensive line know what's going on. And, you know, you work closely with quarterback, especially in protections and run game of who's designated as the players that we're trying to block up. And you have to get that communicated across the board. And all that has to be done in a handful of seconds before, you know, we snap the ball. So there's a lot going on that a center gets the...

what I believe is a fun responsibility of doing. Yeah, and we have, why we love centers is because a good center means a good running game. And something that fantasy players have become kind of obsessed with and our ears seem to perk up with it. When we hear the term zone block scheme, for some reason zone block scheme, we just, oh, that's fantastic fantasy production. But can you talk about just briefly the differences of a zone versus a power scheme for the people who don't know? Yeah, so the idea is that

you're not particularly blocking a man, you're just blocking in the general direction, and whoever is in your way, you take him. And it takes a little bit more coordination across an offense line to get that accomplished because you don't want to leave the guy unblocked. But when you're pretty effective of it, it gives you good running lanes and good creases. So in your opinion, is there actually a better scheme for a running back production, or can we put this to bed that it doesn't matter? It doesn't really... It all depends on how...

Things get blocked. You have never heard of a coach draw of a play that he's planning only to get one yard on. So it all comes down to the execution. You can do a man gap scheme or you could do a zone blocking scheme. But if you don't execute properly, then it's not going to work. Yeah, that's a great tip. So for all the fantasy people listening, let's leave the zone block hype.

to sleep. So can you talk a little bit about some differences in your offense compared to last years? Yeah, you know, I think that's out a little bit. You know, we've got a bunch of guys doing different roles. And, you know, I think that Chan calls, it's been interesting seeing how Chan calls a game. And I'm looking forward to these real games to see, you know, what we can get accomplished because I think we can do some good things. And we are very excited for him up in New York as well.

In your opinion, do you guys still identify as a running team or you think you're a more balanced team? What's the feeling up there? Well, you know, I think our biggest thing. So that's up front. If we run it 50 times or we throw it 50 times, if it gives us the W, we're going to do it. So we've heard rumors, the rumors that Chris Ivory has been working on his passing game. Chris Ivory is a guy that we like a lot here on our show for...

to be a good fantasy producer this year. Is there truth that he has been working on his passing game and that he might be more involved in that this year? I know exactly what he's been working on, but I can't tell you. If I had a fantasy team, I'd have him on it. He's running as fast as I've seen him since he's come to us with the Jets, and he still has good strength and downhill ability, and so I'm pretty excited to watch him work this year.

We love Ivory. I'm just reiterating. People, we love ivory this year. We think he'll have strong production. Now, a question for you, you can't name yourself. So there's no cheating on this. Besides yourself, who is the best center in the league? That's a tough call. You know, there's such a break of centers right now throughout the league. One that I really watch her in play is Ryan Cleleton in Carolina. I think he does a fantastic. He also hopes he's pretty good at.

And we like Jonathan Stewart as well, so that seems to jive quite well. And so I want to confirm this, Nick. You still have your beard, right? Well, I just wanted to confirm. So, because I am a very bearded man myself. And this is something that I've been struggling with. Who has a better beard? You are Ryan Fitzpatrick? Well, see, here's the thing. And I think being a bearded man yourself, that you also...

I come to realize that it's not so much who has a better beard. It's just the appreciation of great beers. And I think when you get to that point, you really enjoy the beard experience that much more. That is a highly diplomatic answer, and I approve. Is Fitz, is he growing it out? Because he shaved it all off last year, and I got a little bit sad. Is it coming back? Yeah, well, he actually shaved it back in the spring, and amazingly, it's back a full force. He's got the quickest growing beer I've ever seen. He's a full mountain man. Yeah, so it's...

pretty impressive. All right, so back to the NFL. Not that NFL players need extra motivation, but when you're lining up against the bills and your old boss, how is that going to feel? You want to beat him pretty bad, don't you? It's going to be an interesting just to see, you know, I've been able to go against his defense for six years and practice and training camp and everything, but now to see it out and about, you know, in a real game, it's going to be definitely a bit odd for me. But just like every other game, you know, it'll be

fun to be able to be out there. And after you win, you will march up and say, in your face, Rex, is this true or false? I'm probably false. Oh, okay. So a show that we talk about, a good bit, because we are big fans of hard knocks on HBO. We know you guys were on. Can you talk a little bit about that experience? Did you enjoy it? Was it invasive? Because we've heard teams don't want to be on the show. So your personal experience, how was it?
