This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Every football fan is different. Some won't wash their lucky mustard-stained jersey until the season's over. Some insist they can't sit down on third downs and some pick their favorite team because, I don't know, just like football fandom, nobody's life is exactly the same. And that's why State Farm gets to know you, not as a policy number, but as an actual person.

What was that? I mean, I was, I was, I was, I'm feeling good over here. Welcome into the show. And now, now I'm, like, ready to run through the wall. I try to supply. A little bit of energy from time to time. I feel like Jason's denying the supplying right now. Oh, no, no. Get in on this. No, I am. I am amped with you guys. I'm just experiencing, I'm rebelling. I'm, I'm marveling in the energy that has been brought to this table. I'm just...
Happy to be here. Well, it was a pre-lunch introduction to the show, which sometimes I'm not going to say that we're always metabolizing when we record this show. But I am always metabolizing from four to five hours post-meal. You did give me some of those protein chips before the show, Mike? We did. Would that get it going? I don't know what's in them. We powered up. Plant-based. Oh, we went Brady-style. It doesn't taste good enough for it not to be...
I mean, it has to be good for you a little bit. Right. That's what I mean. Yeah. Welcome into the fantasy footballers, Andy Mike and Jason back with you, Twitter at theFF ballers. Lots of tweaks and polish and upgrades happening this offseason. And we're very, very excited.
Just this season, we've done a lot of expanding in terms of dynasty content, dynasty articles, the DF, I'm sorry, the ultimate draft kit now has the UDK Plus, which has the dynasty pass. And for those of you that are, many of you are like us, you play in some redraft leagues, you play in some keeper leagues, you play in some dynasty leagues. Some of you are just...
Dynasty D-Gens. Like you just live. Yes. And you vilify the redraft world. You vilify the keeper world. Fools. You're not in 52 Devi leagues? Exactly. Come at me, bro. But you should be excited because we have. We have some dynasty stuff coming up. We have a dynasty week that we're going to be just breaking out right after the NFL draft. We need a jingle or something. We're working on that too.
Yeah, well, I mean, like, because the Maglodon. I mean, you're kind of the jingle guy. Every, well, every time you sent Maglodon, it sends Jason into a growling frenzy. Yeah, it's a little scary, actually. So we got to figure out what the hook is, what is for Dynasty. Yeah, I agree with you, Andy. We'll talk, Andy and I will talk to our medley guy. Okay. Yeah. Which is you. Am I invited to the meeting? Yeah, which is you. So we do have a Dynasty week coming up. We're also going to be doing some, some other Dynasty stuff on the show segments.
making sure that you out there that are into dynasty leagues are staying up to date with what's happening and how drafts are changing. And there's so much on the table right now with the NFL draft. Rookie breakdowns are coming very soon. And then, you know, after the draft, you have all of the rookies and their new destinations. But then you have a whole huge amount of players that were affected by these rookies coming into their –
depth charts to mess things up. Get that collateral damage. Yeah, yeah, that's true. All right, UltimateDraftKit.com. You can head over there, check out that UDK, UDK Plus. I think it's time for some buy sell. Buy or sell presented by pristine auction. I don't like this one. No, I don't either. I don't like this one. Melvin Gordon. Boo. Buy yourself 1,300 total yards in 2021. So just for context.
Five years in Los Angeles, or I guess it was San Diego. He went over 1,300 total yards in 2016, 17, and 18. Man, 2018. 1375 yards in just 12 games. And then in 2019, 12 games, 900 yards. Last year in Denver, sharing the field with Philip Lindsay, missed a game, 1, 144 yards.
But just 158 receiving yards, which was the lowest of his career. So buy yourself 1,300. There is a direct correlation with an absence of P. River. Yeah. Mr. Philip Rivers, that'll happen to your receiving yards. That's true. But does it continue? I mean, was this something that? Yes, it will continue because Drew Locke will be the starting quarterback for the Broncos for.
at least the majority of the season, I believe. I did see a mock draft yesterday. Was looking at some of these NFL mocks. Who did they take? Justin Fields. Justin Fields at nine. What kind of crazy mock draft is sending Justin? They are happening. And Jason made a good point yesterday. Listen, I remember when it was supposed to go Baker and Darnold and Rosen, one, two, three. Every mock had teams trading up. And then, you know, you got guys dropping down to 10 and teams trade up for them. These things happen. Now, Fields shouldn't?
Get to nine in my analytical opinion. However, if it happened, I could see something like that happen. And we can all, we can all hope for Denver to get a better quarterback. Tray Lance went ahead of him in this month. What? I know, but if you have a certain team that likes a certain player. Was this doodumok.com? Like if, for example, Chicago, if you fall in love with a guy like Mitch Trubisky, you take your guy. A lot of these GMs do that. But.
Trisky was a one-year wonder, too, right? Yeah. If I remember that correctly? Yes, correct. Let's circle back, though. Melvin Gordon, 1,300 yards, buyer's sell. He has Mike Boone behind him, Royce Freeman behind him. Royce Freeman is still there. That's one of his best qualities.
He's made it, man. I think this is the last year of his working deal. If you're still there in the NFL, you did it. I'm going to jump in here first because I don't know where you two are going to land on this, but I'm firmly on the buying of 1,300 total yards. I do not see a world where he is utilized as poorly in the passing game as this last season. That is to me the baseline for his...
passing down work. Obviously, it's going to take a step down from good old Philip Rivers. But with Philip Lindsay gone and him, you know, I don't think Mike Boone is coming in and going to take over anything. So I think Melvin Gordon has the opportunity to really be what they're paying for, which is a lead primary dog in the back field. And I am, you know, look, I'm one to win on any situation possible.
mistake, cheating if not caught, you know. Right, right, right. There are 17 games going, they're going to be 17 games played next year. And I'm taking 1,300 yards. Now, where you, when you're saying that the receiving work is going to get better, are you factoring in the lack of Philip Lindsay, like taking his production and giving that to Melvin Gordon? Um,
So, well, he wasn't really utilized in the passing game that much either, but I do think that was the trap. Right. Do you know how many receiving yards Philip Lindsay had in 2020? I don't know, but obviously, I mean, I know he was not involved in the passing. How many more traps he got, Mike? The answer is seven receptions for seven receptions, I'm sorry, for 28 yards. No, I think if it's that low, the proper grammar is seven reception.
Yeah, that's right. Seven reception for 28 yards. So go ahead and give Melvin Gordon the 28 yards. But here's the thing. It's not a matter of just giving him those stats. It's a matter of what snaps he's on the field for that he might be able to, you know, do something more with it. My point was that Drew Locke doesn't throw to the running back. He just doesn't do it. What's incredible is Melvin Gordon has one season above a thousand rushing yards in his career in six years.
It's kind of shocking. I will sell it. I think they will use other backs enough for Melvin Gordon to fall just short of this number. That being said, I am impressed with what Denver's done this offseason. The new GM, John Elway's out of there to the sidelines. Got an upgrade, what is a promotion away from the GM. Elway promoted himself out of the GM position. But I want to bring this data up. If Jason's right.
And I don't know Mike's answer yet, but he bought 1,300. Over the last five seasons, 53 times there's been a running back that goes over 1,300. In two-thirds of those, they had double-digit touchdowns. Yeah, that makes sense. If he hits that number, it's very likely he is a significant factor in fantasy football. Mike, buy or sell. I will sell. I will sell. I will sell. Royce Freeman will see an uptick and work. And Mike Boone is not.
He's no slouch. Yeah, exactly. He's not like, there's dirt. Like Mike Boone can get it done on the field. He can get seven reception for 28 yards. Yeah. That number is mind-blowing. How do you not throw to Philip Lindsay more? The first two years in the league, he had 35 receptions each time. Really? Yes. Wow. So he was nothing last year. Oh, man. Drew Locke is the problem.
Yes. And I completely agree with that. I don't think he's going to get worse this season. But, you know, I don't know. I don't think he's going to fix, you know, the real overarching problem, which is him at quarterback. His lockness? Yeah. Yeah. Well, we'll see what happens. There's no key coming. No, I get it. Oh, to the lock. Very nice. What? That was a good one. Their defense is going to be better.
I imagine they want to lean on Melvin Gordon. It'll be close. I think he's well over 1,000, so it should be neat. All right, that was by yourself from pristine auction. Guys, have you ever heard of pristine auction? Uh, no, no, please tell me more. Dot com. That's their web address. And you can use our code ballers. And you get $10 off, sports memorabilia. That's right. Autographed, authentic, certified, verified. Like my champion, Antonio Gibson on the wall. We do have Antonio Gibson up on the wall.
You do love him. Oh, I do. All right. Let's get into the news. News and Notes from Around the League. Can we title this The Leftovers? Yeah, that's appropriate. You ever watch that show on HBO? I did watch that show. That show is great. It was really, really good. It got super weird at the end. I don't know. We had a great. It's a really good. It was great in the beginning. No, no, I'm with Jason on this. It got a little weird at the end. First couple seasons were out. How many are there?
Three seasons? I think three. So did it feel like a show where it was going to be a one season show? No, it feels like a show that was going to be a five season show. And then the third season, they're like, yeah, we're getting rid of it. And they're like, okay, here we go. So it's like the opposite prison break. It was like prison break year one. Oh, they had to extend it. But it was written to be a one season show. But then it got rating. So of course. Yeah, you got to extend it. We need three more. All right. Leftovers. Mike Davis.
Running back, formerly the Panthers, two-year $5.5 million contract with not the Arizona Cardinals. The Atlanta Falcons. This could be very significant or very insignificant. We have to see what the Falcons are going to do in the draft. But as it stands today, Mike Davis is going to be the starting running back for the Atlanta Falcons. Isn't that a little presumptuous? They like Dito Smith. I.
