Welcome to the show, one and all, all for one, especially you and you. Driving that car. You think they're driving right now? Yeah, I do. I think they're driving. I think they're working out. Ooh, that's a good one. Getting fit? Hot take. Yeah. Hot take. Get your sweat on. Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast. I'm Andy Holloway, joined as always, by Mike the Fantasy Hitman Wright. What's going on?

2:15 ↗

Everybody. I'm here. Jason Moore. I think they're working out in their car on the drive. They brought their dumbbells with them. No, I don't bring the dumbbells. You know what you do? You get those, the electronic ab pack. Yeah, that's my type of workout. I've never worked out harder. Integrate that into the seatbelt is what they need to do. That's a million dollar. Million dollar idea right there. Right, because those other ones work so well. Well, you see? You see the results?

2:42 ↗

Exactly. Welcome to the show. We've got a good one. It's a mailbag episode. We're going to be answering questions from you, the Foot Clan, the listeners of the show all episode long. We're going to break down some news. Got a quick question for the guys. And it should be a really good show. It is Thursday, February 18th. Also known as Almost the NFL Combine. Oh, yeah. Which is, you know, only a couple weeks before free agent negotiations take place.

3:10 ↗

which is right when, you know, then we're going to be into the draft and we're off and running. Well, then we're in training camp. I don't even remember who was in the Super Bowl. It was so long ago. It doesn't matter. Was it the Penguins, the Pittsburgh? Pittsburgh? It doesn't matter. We're on to next year. All right. Before we get into the quick question, we do want to bring up something that...

3:36 ↗

uh we'd love you to join in with us and go to the website fantasy sports for all dot com and let me tell you why you're not uh you've probably seen the news and you've seen all the different daily fantasy sport and fantasy sport um

3:54 ↗

kind of legal things going on in state-by-state basis, right? It's legal in this state or this attorney general says that they don't want it to be legal here. And so it's kind of a, it's a big issue for the industry and not just for daily fantasy, but for season-long fantasy, too, because that's the majority of this show is season-long. We do some DFS content. Yeah, it affects everything. It does. It affects the whole landscape of the sport. And so...

4:17 ↗

specifically in Arizona on Thursday we've got another Senate bill today this morning at 9 a.m. Yeah. If you're listening when this show is released, there is a Senate bill going in Arizona to make sure that this gets righted. So go to fantasy sports for all.com. Make your voice heard. Yeah. It's very easy to do too. And it would be a big help to the show into the industry in general. If you enjoy playing fantasy sports, which 50 million of you do,

4:44 ↗

then go to fantasy sportsforall.com. You can basically just put your name in, and you can contact a representative in your local area and just make your voice heard. Because one of the big things, and we'll move on after this, but the biggest thing that actually is a problem for the legality of fantasy sports in all these states is a lack of education at the legislative and at the leadership level of just what fantasy sports...

5:10 ↗

is. They see commercials or they see, oh, are people winning money over here, but they don't really understand the dynamics of a skill-based fun. We all play for fun. That's why you're playing. And so we're asking you to join with us and many other fantasy players around the globe at Fantasy Sportsforall.com and let your voice be heard. And hopefully we can get this, you know, we all want it to be fair.

5:38 ↗

and regulated in a good way in all these states so that everybody can play and have fun. Well done. That's the gist. Well done. Quick question of the day. All right. Who's your pick for the Cam Newton of 2016? Whoa, he's got right into it. The undervalued late round quarterback, couple of years back, and again, hello, it's February.

5:59 ↗

So, shot in the dark, all right? Just throw a name out there. A couple years back, it would have been Andrew Luck, right? You got him in the fifth, six, seventh round, and he gave you that number one quarterback season. And we like drafting quarterbacks to late. So, you know, looking to the crystal ball. And I'm going to use the word could. Who could be that came next? All right. I'm up first because I don't want Mike to steal my guy. So I got two names. All right. So that's great. Let's see if you take one. I got three, so I'm safe. I'm going to go left.

6:27 ↗

Four names. I'm going to go with a guy who is going in the eighth round right now, the 10th quarterback off the board. So he's going to be able to be had a couple years ago. He finished as the number three quarterback. Last year he was on pace for the numero uno spot. This was one of my names. And Andy Dalton should not be forgotten. If you can grab an Andy Dalton late. That's a great name. If you can grab him late, why spend an early pick?

6:56 ↗

on another guy grab a great running back or great wide receiver early and grab Andy Dalton in the eighth, ninth round. Yeah, I like it. That was absolutely one of my names was a great point. Do not forget he was dominating for fantasy purposes. Hugh Jackson is gone. Maybe they take to the air a little bit more. So that's an offense we need to watch. So now that that name is out of the way, I'm going to go with the guy we talked about.

7:22 ↗

on Tuesday's show, or I talked about him in the overreaction, and that is Philip Rivers, who is going in the ninth round as the 12th quarterback off the board, according to Fantasy Football Calculator.com. Let us not forget about him. He was also one of the top three quarterbacks until his entire offense fell down the stairs and got beat up and injured, but he was doing amazing things through the air.

7:49 ↗

So he's a guy that I will be targeting late that I absolutely can see him finishing top three as long as everyone stays healthy over there. That's very fair. I will give you two names. One is a little bit higher odds at the number one spot, and that will be Carson Palmer. I don't see any reason why the offense. David Johnson, all the reports coming out of Arizona is he'll be the bell cow. He has...

8:17 ↗

the past catching ability out of the backfield and they have all the weapons there. But the name I'd really, I'm going to just bring it up so you remember this day. It's Marcus Marriota. I believe Marcus Marietta is going to have a very surprising fantasy football year and a much, much more consistent and possibly upper echelon year. So I think that that is a name I'm going to throw out there. Any other thoughts? I have one last thought, which is I'm just happy.

8:45 ↗

that we did not throw Kirk Cousins out there. That was all. I thought about it. I knew that he would be floating around in that brain, and I'm just so happy that neither of you. I believe he can finish as a number one guy, but he absolutely can be a middle-tier quarterback one. Sure. The best thing about the Kirk Cousins discussion in any of these is that we can't predict what will be a running...

9:12 ↗

uh joke slash issue in the show but you can see the foundations here for a good kirk cousins in your face you like that for the entirety of next year when he does well so it will be it'll be in one of our faces because i'm in the anti kirk uh camp right now yeah so all right let's move on news and notes from around the league all right

9:41 ↗

Just a couple bits of news. The salary cap is expected to be at least $155 million. That is up, what, $12 million? Yeah, right around there. And some people are going to get some keesh. There are some teams with a lot of cash. Jacksonville. Jacksonville cannot probably spend all their cash. Oakland has a lot of cash. Yeah, so these free agents...

10:10 ↗

Guys like a Doug Martin is just sitting at home, wringing his hands together, thinking about all that money he's going to get. Yeah, well, he will. He'll get paid. Another free agent running back, we talked about him on the show last week when we talked about the coaching changes with Adam Gase going to Miami. And we speculated that maybe, you know, Lamar Miller might actually be best off.

10:33 ↗

or at least I did, staying home in Miami and being used the right way by Adam Gaze, which you assume if Lamar, you know, he's come out and said he wants to be used in the right system. And so if Gays could convince him of that fact and he stayed home, that could be very good. And then news broke out of the Miami Herald that they definitely want to resign him. Which is... It could be talk. I mean... That was a little surprising to me. It's not so much that they want to resign him, but the fact that we've...

11:03 ↗

basically heard nothing. Mom has been the word in Miami about trying to bring the Mar Miller back, so they finally come out publicly and are trying to make sure that support is out there that the public knows they at least want to consider bringing him back. They might want to consider. Well, part of the problem was they are one of the teams in a bad cap position. So if the cap does go up a lot of money, then they're in a position to at least make an offer. That's a fair point.

11:31 ↗

We're going to go ahead and spend the rest of our time today answering questions. Your fantasy questions, they span the gamut, keepers, dynasty leagues. You also have questions about like league formation, commission type things. We love answering those questions. I think a lot of people have them because everybody wants to make a great league. Yeah. And so you kind of, you wonder, how do I start to do that? And so if you have those questions, send them in as well, you can go to the website, the fantasy footballers.

11:59 ↗

and you can click on the submit a question button and let's go ahead and get into it mailbag episode it's not short it's not short long form we got a little bit of grief on the uh extra episode the patreon mailbag show for forgetting that drop oh we did we forgot the drop unbelievable so disappointment was flooding well today we'll have another uh

12:31 ↗

Patreon exclusive mailbag show coming out too. So we are for the people, of the people, and by the people. I'm composed of people. This is more of a patriotic show. Speaking of the people, let's see what Elliot. Let's talk to Elliot. Yeah. Elliot. Is that E.T?

12:52 ↗

I think Jason choked on his coffee. I didn't see that one coming. And I liked it a lot. Probably more than it deserved. I was a little surprised by the reaction. I was in the process of drinking the coffee. And I didn't see it coming. Like, you're not the, you're not really the reference guy. No. So that's why it's shocking. It's very nice, though. I'm the brief guy. All right. Elliot in Redlands, California. We got to keep one. And then they go back into the draft pool in 2017. Who's it going to be?
