I guess. I guess. Hey, how you doing? I thought that was the voice of public opinion for a second. But Andy. I'm still in it. We need a butt Andy shirt. I like that. We should get a butt andy shirt. Some people say that I get that a lot on Twitter now. So thank you. Thank you for that. Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast. Mike, the Fantasy Hitman Ride, is here. I'm in the He's house. You're so hip. Jason.
Moore is here. Howdy. He's from Westworld. And I am Andy Holloway. We are the fantasy footballers. And we're back again on this Tuesday episode filled with WaverWire fun. Did you guys enjoy last night's football program? I thought it was a great game. Talk about that collapse of special teams.
Oh, reminiscent of our Cardinals. For the, uh, for the Pats. Yeah, the back-to-back fumbles, just changing the entirety of the way that game went. I just, I thought it was a great game and I was, I was shocked by Brady's numbers at the end. You know, you're watching, I'm not, I wasn't, I was watching a tape delay, so I'm kind of doing the, uh, the fast forward in between plays over the commercials. So I'm not tracking stats or anything. Watching the game, you think, oh, he's having a, he's having a pretty solid game.
Then you have the Chris Hogan 80-yard touchdown. Oh, that's nice for the numbers. I'll listen. He's over 400 yards. Yeah, I needed him to be under 10 fantasy points to win one of your leagues. That did not happen. I'm proud to say I beat you, Mike, in the listener league. You did. I'm moving on. And I was, because I'm watching on the delay, you were, you were taunting me a little bit towards the beginning. I was down by three points.
And then the back-to-back fumbles happened. And the sacks. Yeah. Back-to-back sacks. And the end zone interception as well. And I thought, Mike was dependent on the Baltimore defense. I thought there was an actual chance that I won. But then the yardage would surprise me also destroyed the defense. Yesterday, a listener wrote in and they said, hey, I need 12 points. Should I go with Edelman or Malcolm Mitchell?
in a standard league. And we looked at the numbers, and Edelman had only gone over 12 in a standard league one time this year. Mitchell had already done it twice. So we said Mitchell. Twice in the last three weeks. We said Mitchell, but Jason did say at the last minute in the studio here, he goes, I wonder if Chris Hogan's the actual guy with the best shot of surpassing 12 in standard. And he was. He ended up with five for 12 and a touchdown. The majority of that on the 79-yard touchdown, James White.
Had a day through the air, three for 81. And, you know, Ligarup Blunt keeps scoring touchdowns. You can't stop with Garrett Blunt right now. It's not possible. No. I mean, 14 touchdowns. Please stack the box against Tom Brady. Yeah, the number one defense. That didn't work out. Eight receptions for Kenneth Dixon to go with 11 attempts. Out snapped Terrence West by a lot. Yep. I'm then that's, I mean, we can jump into that if you want to right now because people are asking.
Okay, Dixon, he's the guy. That was the guy that we had hoped to see all year when we were saying, hey, you know, Dixon, he could take control of this backfield of all the running backs coming in in the rookie class. His tape, I mean, of course, Elliot was fantastic, but Dixon's tape was great, and he had an awesome opportunity. However, I am cautious about this. Game script.
dictated Kenneth Dixon be the guy. He's the better pass catcher. They use him in that. He wasn't unbelievable. His efficiency was okay. He ended up with a great fantasy game. But this is not an automatic. Okay, next week, Kenneth Dixon's going to be 65% of the snaps. Yeah, I mean, Dennis Pitta let people down last night. Didn't do much. A lot of those underneath passes went to Dixon. Like you said, he was in the game. If it was West in the game.
He would have had those underneath passes, too. Today's show, we have the waiver wire. We have news and notes. We have full stream ahead. So it is a jam-packed. Great episode. So otherwise, follow us and check us out on YouTube. And you can subscribe and review the show on iTunes. That helps us out as well. I did want to, before we get into the news.
Jump into a few close wins and bad beats. So we had a few tweets on Twitter about both close wins and bad beats. Wanted to share a few of them. These are always interesting to hear at this time of year. This first one comes in from Ian Burgess. He says it was a four versus five seed plugged in Hogan from the waivers at the last minute down by 20.
One by two points. And the four seed was his sister. Oh, that's got to feel good for that guy. Talk, took down the, uh, took down the blood. Yeah. I like this, this, we kind of glossed over this guy. And we got called on on Twitter. Uh, this one comes in from Ryan Sanity. I needed two points from Des Bryant on Sunday night football. How'd that, how'd that work out? Oh, my goodness. And he, uh, after the game, he needed four points from someone else.
That's painful. That is painful. Kyle lost on the last play of the game with Blunt getting two yards. Oh, on the fourth down carry? Yeah. Which was the fourth down carry to me was crazy call. I loved it. Let's see here. Malcolm Mitchell and Justin Tucker.
Got me back into the running for a Foot Clan title. Excellent. Boom, boom. Excellent. Yeah, Tucker is really good. With the beginning of the game, though, it looked like. Look terrible. Even Boom, boom, boom was not immune to the week 14 madness. But he was. He was. He pulled it out. Boom, boom was immune. Maybe he's going to be my franchise player. Yes, please. In our dynasty league. Juan on Twitter says he lost yesterday by two point.
Four points would have won, if not for the blocked field goal in last night's game. Oh, there's the anti-boom-boom right there. Oh, that's Doom Doom. Yeah. That's what that is. Came back from 27 points down at Bargo S. Bargos. First try. Came back from 27 down with Dixon and Mitchell leading the way. Thanks for the early pickup advice. It's good to hear. Yeah.
This one from Garrett and South Carolina. Not a question, but I played against my dad this week, and he had Bell and the Atlanta defense. Wow. We traded DeMarco Murray and Kelvin Benjamin's second week of the season. I received Murray. Laughed at my dad the whole season, but now he has the last laugh knocking me out of the playoffs. You guys are awesome listening to today. Old man strength. Do not doubt it. Edelman got me a one-point win with his catch just before the two-minute warning.
He had 15 targets, but only seven catches. Yeah, come on, Brady. They're not on the same page or something. Let's get this together. Last one here, guys. This will lead us into the news. Obie Dugs, I won by 0.7 points thanks to Jeff Fisher's decision to run Gurley for the last two plays of the game. Put L.A. Rams over 300 yards, reducing the Atlanta defensive score. Jeff Fisher.
Oh, that does lead into some news. Did something happen? News and notes from around the league. Now, listen, you guys know if you're listening out there, you've been listening to the show. You know we try to stay on top of every bit of news. We've got, what, hundreds of reporters out in the field, right?
Hundreds. At least. Little birds. Little birds everywhere. Little birds. Now, Jason, I don't even know this. Do we have somebody that managed to... I tweeted out about it yesterday. Yeah, we... Everyone's been waiting to hear my reaction after my epic rant against Jeff Fisher. I am sad in many different ways that he's gone. But because this was so, you know, integral to our show, we actually took our man Brooks and we sent him down...
to practice today to see. And we have some audio down to St. Louis. Yeah. Army down to L.A. Down to L.A. Down to L.A. Down to L.A. And we had some audio from their locker room. Let me see if I can patch it in here. Yeah. They're going to be a silver boy. Oh. It was. Sorry. Was there Dickerson there? Yeah. He's the one singing right now. He's on the BGBs right now. So that was live.
Yeah. Is that still going on? Oh, yeah. If you, if you just look at the live cam, there's just streamers and going, people run around in their underwear. If you think Mardi Gras is an event, you haven't seen a L.A. Rams Jeff Fisher fired. Jeff Fisher's been fired. Jeff Fisher has been fired. So many, so many conflicting thoughts. I mean, really? Oh, yeah, because now the jokes are gone. The harsh treatment of his name is gone. As an Arizona cardinal fan. Oh, that's. I'm actually sad. Because the Rams have a great team.
They have enough players to get the job done. I liked them always being 500. This is good news for Todd Gurley, future-wise, dynasty-wise. I don't think there's going to be huge changes this year where we see their offense come alive, but certainly can't get worse. So it could be an improvement this season, but I think long-term, it's really good news for all the- Maybe a couple years. He was three days short.
of becoming the losingest coach in NFL history. That's right. That's right. They play on Thursday. Thursday night against the Seahawks. So that would have happened. Well, he still is the losingest coach in history. He's just tied for it. But it took him, his efficiency at that was incredible. It took him far less total games to get there. It is good for the long-term health of that team and Todd Garley. All right. Ryan Tanahill sprained ACL and MCL did not tear it.
We'll get a second opinion to confirm he doesn't need surgery, though. Still going to be out a little while. I don't like having to get a second opinion on it, though. No, no. Here. Mike McCoy talked about Melvin Gordon. What's the latest there? Day to day. He has a knee sprain and a hip sprain. I would not expect him next week, which is unfortunate for those still alive in the fantasy playoffs. If you survived that, that debacle.
