I guess this is our first opportunity to reflect on Super Bowl Sunday. This show is going to be, we'll talk a little bit about the Super Bowl, but it'll be mostly a free agent preview. We'll let you know fantasy-wise which guys are out there kind of are.

What information we have and where we think they might be headed or more so just kind of whether we think they're going to stay around or they're going to go find a new home. What are your favorite moments or stats from the Super Bowl? What kind of stood out to you? I tweeted yesterday after the Super Bowl that all of you QB shamers out there that want to tear down Old Manning, Peyton Manning, don't do it, is what I say. And then Jason found a very interesting stat. Yeah, saw this on Twitter that John Elway.

When he won the Super Bowl in 1998, he was 12 of 22 for 123, zero touchdowns and one interception, which is almost identical to Peyton Manning's winning the Super Bowl yesterday. 13 of 23, 141, 0 touchdowns, one interception. And, you know, I believe that was the same way Big Ben won one. Big Ben might have been worse. Yeah, defense wins in the Super Bowl. Von Miller was amazing.

That whole defense was amazing. I would say that that would be, you know, my most surprising thing, like looking back now that it's over, the thing that stuck out to me was that pass rush. The Broncos pass rush was legendary. I tweeted out that I thought it was one of the best pass rushes of all time, and I think some...

very upset Carolina. Panther fans said, no, we don't have any receivers. Hashtag unfollowed and unfollowed me on Twitter. And then I was like, wow. That's a strong reaction. That was like cam walking out of the media day. So you don't have any wide receivers. What was the excuse for for Ben Rathlisberger and the Steelers putting up 16 points or?

Tom Brady and the Healthy Pats putting up 18 points, and Cam Newton putting up 10 points. This defense is one of the best of all time. They were devastating. I would say that it's very safe. I know it can be hyperbolic right after the Super Bowl to try to. Of course, we have to, because we're the ESPN generation. We have to put everything in historical context immediately and make a list. But I think it's very safe to say that they're in the top 10, 15.

fairly you know what i mean you can debate where they belong but the pass rush and then when you mix it in with having harris and talib on the back end and the fact that yes carolina i would say this is the first time i mean when you go 15 and one you haven't really been found out right this is the first time that their wide receivers kind of showed what we thought would be the reality for them in the sense that they they're not the big names they were guys that had been around and

now had the opportunity and couldn't get separation on the on yeah nobody was open no that that was the problem and obviously their strategy was was great where you have olson and you cover him up well and you put cam in a position where he you know i've never seen the him run the way he had to run last night which was like like two step drop and i got to take off it wasn't improv it wasn't end of play improv running it was like

I got to get out of this pocket that's breaking down. And he, unfortunately, it looked like he never smiled the whole game. He never had a moment where he didn't seem flustered because Von Miller came around the edge and stole the ball out of his arms. And from that point on, it was backtracking. I mean, at one point in the game, we saw it was 1610, and I'm like, man, this is a close game. But it kind of didn't feel that way. Yeah, that's how I felt. Like, the whole game where I actually felt like Carolina was...

closer. And I know you're probably saying from the perspective, we felt like Denver was dominating the game. To me, it felt like just a couple things didn't go Caroline's way. I was talking to Jason before the show about the reviewed catch. What were your thoughts on that? When I saw the replay, I instantly guaranteed that it would be upheld as a catch. Overturned or upheld as a drop.

No, overturned and made a catch. But then the reality was when I saw it on replay and part of the tip of the ball hit the ground, even though he had possession when crottery rolled over, you could see that if it had been ruled a catch on the field, it would not have been overturned. And if it had been ruled not a catch, it was going to stay that way. So I thought it was a catch. I thought it was undoubtedly a catch.

thought there was, as did Sims, and of course, Mike Carey, who can't get it right even in the Super Bowl. As soon as Mike Carey said it was a catch, you knew it was over. That's what, uh-oh. Trouble. They're going to over call this. And then, of course, a player two later was the Von Miller strip sack into a touchdown. So that was a very pivotal moment. I still feel like Carolina likely loses the game if that series of events changes. But that was definitely a big.

A big part of the turning the game around. You know, nobody's going to say in Carolina that this is a good thing. But long term, this could be good for Cam. I mean, there's a young team that's got pieces in place to be back. They should be better. Yeah. They're the one of the teams that should be better next year. I saw some early Vegas lines on Super Bowl favorites. And Seattle was the number one at 8 to 1 to get to the Super Bowl.

Yeah, that's... Caroline, I believe, was tied with him. But, yeah, it was an interesting game. I don't disagree with you, Mike. It wasn't me saying it's a blowout. It was more of me saying the feeling of the game. After a certain point, you just felt like it was the same recipe that won Denver every game that they won this year, which was they kind of get themselves in a position where Peyton has to maybe put one drive together the whole game. And that's it. And he did it. At the very opening of the game, you saw the jitters of the Carolina Panthers.

where Manning is just floating up the slow motion, like, underhand soft pitch passes, but the guys are open and they move the ball. I'm not convinced that I couldn't throw the ball harder than Peyton Manning at this point. It's very possible. And I will give the Broncos a huge benefit. Finally, C.J. Anderson was back in the starting role. He looked.

great for the majority of the majority of the game. That 30-yard beast mode type of Brock was great. And C.J. Anderson always runs hard. He's a good team player. He's a good running back when he's healthy.

And I have no... Unquestionably better than Ronnie Hillman. Yes. And unquestionably important that they had him in the game on the first drive, because there were a couple plays that he had to make to keep that drive going, that Hillman had no chance, just from a physical standpoint. It had not to do with skill. It just had to do with physicality. So we have some other news we want to get into. Fantasy relevant information, so let's go ahead and move. Well, there was one big piece of news that dropped right in the middle of the game. Weekly Rewind.

Hanging from a wire were two neon cleats. Classic Marshawn Lynch. It was spectacular. I just happened, like we were all on Twitter on and off, but I just happened to be on the moment he tweeted that and was able to give my final remark, which was sadly, you know, we're a fantasy football show. So my final remark was farewell Marchion and hello Thomas. Right. Yeah. And it was just...

great of, I'm sure there's going to be plenty of people who think, why are you got to do that in the middle of the Super Bowl? You know what I say to that? Capui to you, because that was awesome. That's just, that's Marchion Lynch being Beast mode saying, yeah, the Super Bowl's going on, but you know what? I'm retiring. I feel like Marcheon Lynch welcomed everybody to his career when he was driving that cart.

for California on the field, just kind of, you know, sitting back, people freaking out, he's driving it around, and then he says farewell in the middle of the Super Bowl. He will be missed. And he goes out on his own timing. Not according to Vegas. Vegas is like, the team will move on. They're going to be fine. Lynch, that's true. I can't think of a running back right now that I enjoyed watching as much as I loved watching.

lynch when he would go full beast mode. Yeah, he was a special player, right? A special kind of combination of balance and power that you haven't seen before. The balance, man. The balance is, I know. Some of that stuff is incredible. You know who else has really good balance? And I mean, there's only on the football field, not necessarily in their personal life.
