Happy Thursday to the world, to the fantasy football world. I really felt like you were going to say happy birthday to me. It's not your birthday. I know, and that was a shame. It might feel like it, though. There's no Mike here. Yeah! I miss you, Mike. Yeah, actually, it's rough. Come back soon, your beard and your beauty. Mike might not be here, but that did not stop a very hearty Julian, or I mean, Danny and Mendoza debate.
Last night. The fight was on, man. Well, you know, we have some differing opinions. Not by much, but you know, Mike. You know how he gets. When he goes to Disneyland, you know how he gets. When you drop $40 a fab on someone. I'm telling you. You got to believe. I'm telling you. He spent $40 a fab on Danny and Mendoza, and we had a little debate last night. And I'm going to bring it up in the quick question. He's not here to defend himself. So this will be great. It is Thursday, November 19th. We are the fantasy footballers.
I'm Andy Holloway, joined by Jason Moore. Mike is finishing up his vacation, a couple more days, and then he'll be back with us next week. We've got a good show for you today. We've got our news update for you. We can catch you up with all the injuries and things you need to know. We've got our fantasy forecast. We're going to go through the first seven games of this weekend, let you know everything that's going on, including the weather. Because we're getting to the time of year where that matters.
Especially in certain games. You play football in 20 degrees and scores are not going to be flying high. Well, yeah, or in a blizzard or a rainstorm or a muddy field or whatever, whatever's going on. You need to know that stuff because it does make a difference, especially because we've kind of...
We've trained the streaming culture out there to be streaming guys in and out, and you need to play with the weather as well. We've got our starts of the week on the show today. Mike did give us his, so we'll be delivering all the starts of the week at the end of the show, or not the end, but after the forecast. And what else is going on? I am so sore. Oh, because you joined us for a flag football game on Tuesday. Yeah, yeah. Old double stuff.
thought he could just go right back out mid-season form and play on... And is it correct that on the very first play that I threw... I overthrew you on a screen pass and you went down because you have balance issues, right? Is that correct? You have diagnosed? No, my lightning speed was trying to catch up to this ball that was overthrown. And of course, so was the defender, right? He's like, oh, that ball's terribly overthrown. I can intercept that.
And so we basically just ran sprint into each other and smashed and then I landed on my knee. No spatial awareness. Yeah, played the rest of the game through it. Feel it today. And we're wearing our Back to the Future fantasy footballer shirts that came in the mail yesterday. So if you ordered one of those, you probably have yours now too. They turn out pretty good. I love it. Yeah, it's nice. And I told some people yesterday on the join thefoot.com that we have a couple more that are going to be coming out because people like the pop culture theme.
Shirts. Maybe a little Star Warsy coming out? I did. I told him. Oh, you did? I told him we had a Star Wars one. We had a Ninja Turtle one eventually coming out. We got to get that Star Wars one out. I think we're going to also, I'm going to break this to you right now. We're also going to do something with Withstanding Victories on a shirt. Hey. So that's going to take place at some point. It's our new tagline. All right. Check us out on Jointhefoot.com. Like I mentioned, that's our fantasy football community. We're over a thousand people there that are talking fantasy football.
All your questions. Just a good community to ask anything to talk about the show, talk about things that you like to see. And which guys you're starting? Check out the fantasy footballers.com. That's our homepage, our website, whatever, the internet thing. Yeah, yeah. That's where we're at. Yep. We're on the web. And then Twitter at the FF Ballers. If you want to follow Jason, you can do so at Jason FFL. Follow Mike at FF Hitman and follow me at Andy Holloway.
And yeah, so quick question, like I said, where do you have Danny and Dola rest of the season? He's clearly the number one wide receiver in the National Football League from here on out. Well, because the rule is, right, like if a really good player ahead of you gets injured, the next guy becomes that player. Probably better. He takes his essence and his being and he just becomes them. Right. Mockery. That's a mockery. Yeah, that's sarcasm. So here's my view on Danny Mendola.
I actually really like him. I would love to have him on my team. I feel like he is the type of guy that's going to get a ton of targets. Has to. Has to, right? He's going to have games where he scores because that offense scores so much. He's going to be involved, and he's going to have a decent ceiling and a decent floor. But what you're going to get is you're going to get certain games where game flow, they just say, hey, I'm going to go Lagart Blunt this game and go nuts with that and deep balls to Lafell.
And it's just going to be different games where you're going to be disappointed that you might have started him, just like you are when you start Lagart Blunt. And you go, oh, this is, he's going to eat. And then he doesn't get any carries. So he's going to be up and down. The one thing that I would say is this. Julian Edelman goes out. And we're hoping or wanting or believing that Danny Amandola steps into that role. But he isn't Julian Edelman.
He isn't as fast. He isn't as quick. His little, you know, Julian Edelman's yards after the catch are always really impressive. They're very Wes Welker, you know, from years ago where he grabs the ball, does a little cut and goes. You just don't see that same thing from Amandola. So you can't be expecting him to be Edelman. Yeah, and that was my whole point. I didn't say I didn't like Amandola at all. I think I went out and spent some, you know, I tried to bid on him in all my leagues.
but to come in and just say, you know, to me he's going to be 70% of the fantasy production of Julian Edelman, which is great. Yeah, it's not bad. You know, and one thing that we're forgetting is we don't know what the impact of losing Dionne Lewis was going to be on Edelman. Because this was the first game without Dionne Lewis, and he averaged seven targets a game, and then Edelman was going to probably get a little bit more attention. So maybe that bumps Amandola up again. But all I'm saying is this is Bill Belichick.
This is Kishon Martin, Aaron Dobson, Chris Harper, Scott Chandler, Brandon Bolden. Those are all guys that somebody's going to do something that we don't expect because when Welker left before, Amandola was supposed to sweep in and become Wes Welker. Everyone was excited for Amandola. He will have his games. He will absolutely have his games. He's worth owning.
That being said, that list of players you just named, which I get what you're saying, right? Bill Belichick will use anybody and everybody at different games. But it really made me like Amidola. I was like, hmm, I don't like any of those guys. Are you telling me Dobbson is mine? I didn't even say James White. Right? Right. Okay, so real quick. Real quick answers on these. Danny Amadola rest of the season. Do you like him above or below Michael Crabtree? Below. Brandon Lafell. Below. Eric Decker. Below. Jarvis Landry. Below. Stevie Johnson.
Above. Alan Hearns. Above. Okay. There you go. Thank you for being so prompt and quick. You said quick answers. I also wanted to just mention the beauty that is our quarterback situation in the NFL. Brock Osweiler, Mark Sanchez, T.J. 8, Matt Hasselbeck, and Blaine Gabbard are starting this week. So that'll get us into the news. News and notes from around the league. All right. So one of those guys, T.J.8, it's.
He's starting because Hoyer was pretty much ruled out. Brian Hoyer's going to miss this week. Which, I mean, that is so crazy. The play, I mean, remember when, you know, if you were watching the game live, the commentators couldn't even find the play for like 30 minutes. They're looking back at film, like, where did Hoyer get injured? And now he's going to miss a week from it.
That was a coach-induced concussion. He said, you have a concussion. Come off the field. We're going to put someone else in. All right, Ryan Fitzpatrick had surgery last week. We know that he should start in week 11. That's just a note for everybody out there who's curious about his status. He should start this week. Vincent Jackson out again in week 11. I think I read 53 targets over the last three weeks. Four. Yeah.
Mike Evans. Yeah. 53 targets. Big boy going, eat. And he's going to catch at least half of them. I was going to say. Well, actually, if he caught half of them, you're in good shape. That's going to say, not at least half of them, but near. Okay, this broke. Hopkins missed practice yesterday. Is there any reason to be concerned? Is this just Monday night game? Give him a day off, veteran day off? Yeah, there is reason to be concerned, but it's not the injury. I don't believe. Hopkins has had a couple weeks where he's taking a practice off.
He's, you know, he's the main target getting so much work in the game. Extra rest, I think, is smart. But the reasons to be concerned would be the quarterback combined with the defensive back. You got Daryl Revis on the other side, which I don't think is enough reason to, you know, sit Hopkins. But then you've got, you know, the quarterback of T.J. Yates coming in. That combo is not one that I think is going to be a, you're not going to see a hundred.
yards and two touchdowns type of game. He hears you. That is a challenge. Hop. Hop. Hop. I'm challenging. I'm putting you on blast. It's nuke. You got calling by his nickname if you guys are close. Sammy Biscuit, separated shoulder plus in the concussion protocol. We're expecting Mark Sanchez this week. We are. I want another butt fumble. Yes, there's high goals. Kindle Wright out for Thursday night football.
That means he joins, we know Justin Hunter is out for Thursday night football. When we get to our starts of the week, you're going to understand a little bit about Delaney Walker. I'll just give it to you now. Lenny Walker's in that list. There are limited options in the passing game, and Jacksonville's not exactly at the top of the league and passing defense. So I think there's some opportunities there for Tennessee, although I'm kind of with Jason. This game might be low scoring. Mike McCarthy.
Confirm Starks is still the starter. Lacey's practicing. What do you expect from that backfield? Well, I expect that to be honest that Starks will get the first touch, and I expect he will get the majority of the touches. However, he's going to get less of the majority than he did last week when he had the Lions share and, yeah, against the Lions. And so I expect very mediocre things this week from James Starks.
Michael Floyd, after the big breakout last week, and John Brown, who hasn't caught a pass since week number seven, both missed practice. I think they're both genuinely questionable for this game. From what I'm reading about John Brown, and part of the reason why his production has gone down, is this hamstring is still an issue. There's worry on his part that if he lets it go, and his whole game is top speed, if he lets it go, he's going to tear it or he's going to damage it further.
been effective. It might be time to sit him down. I'm not sure. What do you expect? Do you expect either to play? I think that Floyd, to me, has a better chance of playing and being relevant. We've seen for a couple weeks where when John Brown starts,
