NFL Draft Breakdown: AFC Winners & Losers

I believe, I said on this show, I thought that a somewhat high draft capital pick would be spent on a running back in Pittsburgh, which the fourth round counts. Fourth round is perfect as somewhat high. If it had been fifth, I would not have taken credit for that. Somewhat low. Do you read into it at all, Jason? I read into it for Jalen Samuel. I firmly think James Connor is a starter. We have enough history here where, you know, I've even read some articles from Pittsburgh.

that are saying maybe they'll go to a committee approach. And I don't buy that for one second. I will wait until it happens before I will ever project that. We have a ton of history of a workhorse role here for Mike Tomlin. It doesn't matter who it is. How many people have replaced them when they're injured, when they're suspended? It's always one guy up. But the thing is, Benny Snell can be the next man up and succeed. Like he will become one of my favorite handcuffs because

I mean, I said this prior to the draft. He's good. He's really good. I know he gets made fun of because his last name is Snell and he ran a 466. It's a little too close to Snail. I get it. In the past. Yeah, in the past when he was the starter because whoever is the starter, they're going to like and give them. When did Jalen Samuels lose the S at the end of his name? When I started saying his name. Okay. When St. Jude's took the S away, we took it away from everybody. Yes.

All right, the AFC sell. Oh, no, no, no. You can't move on. Oh, no, winners and losers for Pittsburgh. You have to talk wide receivers because they drafted Deontay Johnson at the very beginning of the third round. They brought in Dante Moncrief on a two-year deal over the off season. I know you needed guys, but like Ryan Switzer's there, Eli Rogers is still there. Those are the guys that lose the most value to me. Is it? It's not James Washington. No, and it seems to take these guys a little bit of time.

They end up great in Pittsburgh, but not everyone has started their career on fire. Deontay Johnson, to me, indicts the Ryan Switzer, Eli Rogers situation. Okay. Moncrief's got a role. James Washington, he may sit in the background. He may not have the opportunities that we thought he was going to have. But that was the case when they brought in Moncrief. That wasn't necessarily changing in my mind when they brought in Deontay Johnson. I don't know if you guys disagree. I agree for the most part what you're saying. James Washington is a loser from the draft.

But that doesn't, he, I preferred him prior to them having Deonti Johnson, but I don't think that that's the whole picture. He, you know, he can still succeed. I don't think he's just left for dead. But it's obviously not good when you go out and sign another player who's competing for your opportunities. And Vance McDonald locked in. Yeah, they didn't go in and grab a high draft capital tight in. Houston Texans, winners and losers for Houston. What do you think? Lamar Miller.

I thought I was correcting Beyonce. No. Whoops. Yeah, I think Foreman is a winner as well. You will get your name pronounced correctly when you are fully recovered. Oh, man. Well, there you go. Both running backs, it's a good situation for them. Will Fuller. Good situation. Kiki QT. Good situation. And Watson. I mean, they upgraded the offensive line after seeing Watson get the crap kicked out of him. So he's a winner as well. All right. The Indianapolis Colts, they drafted the Rock with the first pick.

Thoughts? I would love to get Dwayne Johnson on my team. But the Rock is a cornerback out of Temple. So their first investment on offense was Paris Campbell in the second round. I love it. You guys both like Paris Campbell. I think he will flash here. I do not think he will flash all the time. I have not been in love with Paris Campbell. Yeah, I'm the only one who likes him. Yeah, I mean, I'm fine with him. And actually, this is a good spot for him. It's good for Andrew Luck. This is a good spot for him. It's great for Andrew Luck. I mean, you've.

You've got two guys now on this roster that have lightning speed. That's going to open things up for Paris Campbell to take those short screens like it did at Ohio State and be able to do a lot in the in the Yak category. So I really like it for Indianapolis. I like it for Andrew Luck. I don't personally think it takes anything. Like I don't see Paris Campbell coming in as a big loser for Devin Funches. I think that they are very different roles. Still have Chester Rogers. See, Chester Rogers. I'll have Zach Pascal. Those guys have.

been destroyed by Devin, Devin Funches, Paris Campbell, and T.Y. Hilton, Paris and Hilton. Paris Hilton. Yeah, yeah. We just talked about us being above jokes. Oh, that wasn't a joke. I'm just talking about Paris Hilton. Paris and Hilton will be, will be, I think the offense is great. And because the offense is going to be better and they didn't bring in competition, we talked about Marlon Mack. Marlon Mack is.

by a mile the biggest winner for the Colts for me. Yes, I agree. He goes from this fringe guy that if he gets the opportunity would be good, but you can't really be confident to someone that I'm saying, I'm drafting a lot of Marlon Mack this year. He's been the answer to the Who Wants to be a millionaire, a question of who the starting running back on an Andrew Luck offense was, but you haven't been able to lock the answer in until now. Now you can lock it in. They brought in Spencer Ware. They didn't draft anybody. Final answer. Final answer. Marlon Mac. Sure.

Jacksonville drafting my Jason's favorite defensive player Josh Allen in the first round Jacksonville also invested on that offensive line helps Leonard four net fornett's a winner. John Taylor falling as far as he did. I mean, I didn't see a mock draft where he went lower than the 12th pick and he falls to the third pick in the second round to Jacksonville. That is huge. This offensive line is very underrated for Jacksonville. That's why I think.

Leonard Fournett, I have him down as a giant winner because that offensive line is going to be great. And he has a quarterback now that is not going to have other teams, at least right off the bat, saying, you do it. You know, they're stacking the box against Fournette. Did you take the over or under on the eight wins for Jacksonville? I took the under. I will take the over. I took the over. I took the over for Jacksonville. I think they're going to have a bounce back year. Some stability on offense mixed with a defense that is.

capable of giving you top five performances, I think will be pretty impressive this season. Requel Armstead. Is he the new handcuff for Leonard Fournette? We'll see. Yeah, I mean, so they took him as a running back big, another big boy in the fifth round, very early in the fifth, but that's still pretty late. He was not one of the earlier running backs drafted. So I think this is just a depth piece. Whenever you've got Alfred Blue as your backup, you need help, and they got some. All right, the Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee Titans took AJ Brown in the second round of the draft, the big offensive ad. They did sign Alex Barnes, Mike's Combine Hero. No, no, no, no. I liked him before the Combine. Thank you very much. Was he not your Combine Hero? He led the entire running back class in bench reps. That's what I don't want you to think, is that I'm just like, oh, look at Barnes.

No. The combine reinforced your love of Barnes. Yes. Which was then de-enforced by the fact every team passed on him in the draft. All right. Landing spots for wide receivers, there could be better ones for A.J. Brown. However, if you're sitting here right now, let's say you're in a dynasty draft, you're in a redraft league, A.J. Brown or Corey Davis. A.J. Brown. In both situations? A.J. Brown. Corey Davis is dead to me.

I would take Corey Davis over A.J. Brown, I would want neither. I mean, I think this is a really bad situation. It's good for Marcus of Mario. I've had enough putting dollars into that slot machine. Yeah, but the problem is you've had enough dollars putting into the Corey Davis slot machine. What the reality is, is you've had too many dollars spent on the Tennessee Titans Marcus Marriota slot machine. And now you're going to take those targets and you're going to divide it up because Corey Davis isn't going away. They're saying we need more weapons. So now they're adding to it and you're splitting it. I think both are going to be.

hard pressed to be valuable for fantasy. I want nothing to do with either guy. I mean, if I'm starting in it. This was a 9 and 17 last year that gets hopefully a healthy Marcus Mario back, adds AJ Brown to the offense. Derek Henry, they figured something out. They want to run, run, run, run.
