Jay Gris was in my seat and all of a sudden I was stuck to my seat because Brooks left tape all over it. What the heck is that all about? Unbelievable. Jay Gris, come on, man.

Baby Josh. Yeah. Wow. Okay. Well, we're off to a good start. We've got the Thursday night preview on the show today. We're going to talk some trades. Now is, I've realized this because I've received a bunch of trade offers. I've sent a bunch out. Now's a really interesting time to trade because. Do tell. Well, look, I think you can make, you can make people believe things with a couple games that happen back to back.

And we have Pump the Breaks on the show today, too. So we'll talk about some guys that maybe have performed, but we're pumping the brakes on. Now, I'm a little gun shy about pump the brakes right now. I tried to warn you. Mistakes were made. Yeah, you know. You're going to double down this week? No. No, I'm not doubling down against Patrick Mahomes. I'm not going to fool me once. But look.

I think it's an interesting time to trade. We'll talk through some trades that our listeners have done over the past week. We sent a note out on Twitter. We got some trades that you've done. Footballers. That's it. Let's start here. This is an interesting, an interesting quick question. We're going to talk about and discuss the great dilemma that is the red-green color dilemma. Red means stop. Well, it's tough because back in my days of Azaroth. Okay. I was not a carabar. Red is dead. Red is dead.

When I'm going through Iron Forge, you snuck in. Red is dead. Red is dead. So what we're talking about. 20% of the people listening know what I'm talking about, but they loved it. I have left. And only 10% of people are remaining. But here's what we're actually talking about. When you play, no matter where you play Yahoo, ESPN, Sleeper, whatever it is, if you're looking at the matchups for this week,

Those platforms love to throw you the red and the green. They throw you that red menacing, tough defensive matchup. And that is the two-date ranking for those teams that they're playing. So, for example, if you have, let me pull up my team and break it down for you right now. So this week, Philip Lindsay running back for the Denver Broncos.

Takes on Baltimore. Baltimore's player rank is second. They're the second best in the league in terms of they don't give up a lot of points to the running back position, but we're through two weeks. And we all are subject to recency bias. Yeah, and just the impact that those colors make. If you look at your matchup and you see a bunch of colors and they're all green.

You're so tempted to say, okay, well, this matchup is so much better, but two weeks of data is absolutely nothing. If you were to go back and look at the first two weeks and where teams lied last year in 2017, and you compare that to where they finished, nothing is the same. I mean, you've got a couple of them that are the same, but it changes. When we look at our matchup projections, like we'll do on tomorrow and Friday's show.

Right now this time of year, we have in this year's data in our show docs, and we also have last year's data in the show docs because two games is not enough. I think for the most part, you can't completely throw it away. You can't just dismiss what's happened in the first two weeks because it's not enough data. But you have to look deeper, and it's easy to look deep. It's two weeks. You can just look at the team and go, okay, well, you know, who did they play?

You know, are the Washington Redskins really the second best defense against quarterbacks? Or did they play Sam Bradford in the Arizona Cardinals one week and really pad that defensive, you know, stat? You've just got to take a deeper look. This is a psychological battle because a lot of the times it comes down to that flex position or a start-sit decision and sometimes seeing green.

can make you want to put that bench guy in and seeing red makes you want to bench a player. And that's what we're talking about. I got a little information for you. Red, the color red in general. This is Harvard level stuff from what I understand. Deep diving. Red speeds up breathing, tenses muscles, quickens the heartbeat, promotes aggression. That's why they say I'm seeing red. Yeah. And green. Green's associated with wealth.

The easiest color for the eyes to process used to relax. Are you relaxing with your week three matchup, Jason? Yeah, I am. I'm going to dominate. How is green all these relaxing things, but it's also the color of stink. It's not the color of stink. I don't think stink has a color, Mike. Brown's the color of stink. No, no, no, no. Whenever there is a cartoon or a comic.

If someone is to break wind, it is the color green. When there is a noxious smell coming off something, it is the color green. Okay. I can see that. It's also the color of evil in Disney cartoons. Maybe they should work brown into the opponent player rank. There you go. They need to just go with orange just for the Cleveland Brown. The message is this. Disregard the matchup situation right now as much as...

You can because things are being established. And this is why I say it's an interesting time to trade right now because of what you said. Look at Adrian Peterson had the opportunity to pulverize the Arizona Cardinals defense. Well, can you ride that type of performance to a trade? Can you ride that to trading a guy high? You look at the matchups, you look a little deeper. Hopefully we can help you out with that. But yeah, it's a dilemma we all face. And how much do you read into that? Like at what point in the season?

Do you feel better about making a determination or a conclusion about those defenses? Yeah, that's the exact same for me. I want one month of the season in. When you go into week five, I feel like you can pretty much take those. You've played four different teams. The chances that you just happen to play, the four terrible defenses or great defenses are slim. All right. Mike, who are you pumped the brakes on? It hurts me to say this because I love this player. I'm pumping the brakes on Carlos Hyde, running back for the Cleveland Browns. He's getting volume, absolutely, but he's running for 2.7 yards of carry. I know that.

yards per carry is not a perfect stat or measurement by any stretch of the imagination. You're like Matt Breed is 8.4 this year? But when you're running for sub three on that type of volume, it's bad. He's getting one reception a game. We did talk about be careful with the matchup, but with the data we have so far, the jets have been stout through two weeks against fantasy running backs. Now, granted, they played the Lions a week one who can't run on anybody.

But right now, Carlos Hyde is currently touchdown dependent. If he does not have those two touchdowns, which one of them was a gimmy from a penalty, you're really, really mad at Carlos Hyde right now. So I'm just warning people, don't get lulled into a false sense of security. Has he scored in both weeks? Yes. That's the same situation for Marshawn Lynch, actually. He's scored in both weeks, and Marshan, he's at 3.7 a carry this year. But I wonder how you feel between those two, where, you know,

better because there's signs of life with the Oakland offense. Okay. In week one, I know they fell apart in the second half, but week one, they opened very strong. Week two, they, Derek Carr looked fantastic and they put points on the Denver Broncos. And the Cleveland Browns, while they've been in games, their offense looks rather anemic. And they're going to have, you're going to have to make a decision on Hyde for Thursday. Correct.

So would you play Lynch against Miami this week over Hyde this week? I would. Okay. I would as well. Although, you know, I will say this. I understand the arguments you're making two touchdowns and that seems a little high for the Browns right now. But I don't hate the matchup this week. You know, the Jets don't scare me too much at home. You know, this is like their, hopefully the weather is better to where this can be their first like home opener.

against just a team and not also mother nature. I don't know. He is getting the volume 100%. Nick Chubb is getting about 5% of the snaps. So you don't have to be concerned about that. All right.
