Oh, I guess. Welcome to the fantasy footballer's podcast. It is October 28th. The NFL trade deadline looms. So, like, anticlimactic, especially because we, like, in fantasy football, there's so many trades flying around. Yeah. And in the NFL, not so much. And every year we make a big deal of it, and then nothing happens.
I wonder if Goodell really wish it. Like if he bribes a couple bad teams to just make a trade. He probably wishes. Get in the news. There was trades. But as we said, my name is Mike Wright. My name is Andy Holloway. Did you forget your last name? I did. But so we are beat writers. We are correspondents for Fantasypros.com. And we host this lovely, lovely, weekly, currently weekly.
Podcasts show. Could be more. Eventually. Eventually, we would love to do more. If the feedback that we get continues to be good, people seem to enjoy it. I've got actually a few iTunes reviews. Do you mind if I read one? Oh, absolutely. I love to hear how good we are. Here's one from C. Finley, five-star review. He says, this podcast is great. Of course.
Real dudes talking about fantasy football. Real dudes. Too many fantasy podcasts are garbage, and this is a needed ray of Shunshine. Shunshine. A maze balls. Two dudes. Here's one. Simply Draven. My first round podcast pick is what he calls it. Great mix of quality fantasy football content and humor. Mike and Andy are a great team that have put together a great podcast. We are.
Two real dudes. We are two dudes. We are a needed ray of Shunshine. I'm not going to get over that. Two real dudes. But if you enjoy the podcast, we ask that you go. Give us a review. Please. Five-star review on iTunes so that we can move up the charts and replace some of those inferior, less beneficial to you podcasts that exist. It does make a difference to us because we move up.
There's all these weird analytic things that it helps our show out, gets us visibility. The more shows we'll do, probably. That's true. If we have more people listening, sending in questions, those type of things. And so go, we ask, please give us a review. A good review. If you have a bad review, just leave it at home. Right. We don't really care about those. So let's get into it. News and notes from around the league. Oh, yes. That's right. What do we got going on in the world?
A fantasy football. Week 8, not too bad, not too bad on the injury front. We'll leave the Blockbuster one for the end, but we'll start out. Jordan Cameron has another concussion. Not good. He has a history of concussions, so we will not be surprised if he is out from even two to three weeks. If you are a Cameron owner,
I sincerely apologize because he's not been very well, and now he's out for a couple games. That's right. Yeah, Brian Quick, flash in the pan. Brian Quick is out for the year. See you later. Goodbye. Look for those targets to probably go Kenny Britt and St. Edmund Bailey's weight, i.e., you're in trouble if you're relying on a wide receiver from St. Louis, but no more Brian Quick the rest of the year, which is too bad. He had a good start to the year. And he had shoulder.
surgery was out. Yep. Giovanni. Now, just a quick as, I've heard that it's actually pronounced Giovanni, and we all call him Giovanni. I didn't know that. I cannot confirm or deny this. Does that mean that if we pronounce it correctly? He'll come on the show. I hear we've got him lined up for potentially sometime in the maybe future. Does that matter how bad his hip injury is? Yes, so we bring him up because he has a hip injury. He left the game. He missed.
almost the entire fourth quarter, the Bengals are claiming it is not serious, but that is a situation to monitor. If you are not a Jeremy Hill owner, you're going to want to look into that. Absolutely. Doug Martin, the, Doug Martin. Boy, how he has fallen. Did he get traded yet? He's either hurt or running for less than three yards. No, he did not get traded yet.
sitting 16 minutes from the NFL deadline. I doubt he gets traded, but he has been miserable this year, out with the leg injury. We don't know necessarily. I know Lovie Smith came out and said, hey, he needs to get more carries, but Chris Sims is making his debut this week, and he is a... Is that confirmed? It's pretty confirmed, yeah. And he's the rookie that was actually drafted by...
the Lovie Smith regime. And you also have Chris Rainey, or I'm sorry, Bobby Rainey in the mix. Not Chris Rainey. Bobby Rainey in the mix. So Doug Martin, he's just not a guy you want to start. He's not. A quick, fun fact that I saw somebody had tweeted out. And they said, since the game, and I think we all know. Is that the four touchdown? The Martin game against, I think it was the Raiders. Since that game, he has averaged 3.3 yards at carry.
Ouch. And even if Sims doesn't start this week, it's just he's probably going to take over. Doug Martin's not the guy that, no, that's going to carry the majority of the. Robert Woods, Buffalo Bills, wide receiver left the game with a back injury. We don't have very much information on that yet. So look for that. Yeah.
I didn't even see the Nate Washington injury, nor do I believe it's relevant to fantasy football. Well, it's relevant that if you're a Justin Hunter, strained AC owner, or AC joint, then Justin Hunter is going to get more targets on it. He's already starting. Yeah, but I'm just saying. Nate Washington was actually a guy that was brought up in trade rumors as well. Stefan Taylor, goal lineback, backup for the Cardinals. For Andre Ellington, is out for two to four weeks with a calf injury. Mm-hmm.
And then the big one from last night. Big one. Tony Romo. He hurt his back during game. He was able to come back. He probably, if you were watching the game, he should not have come back. I think we probably disagree on that one, by the way. You think he should have come back? I think your quarterback, if he can play, he plays. See, to me... If he comes up to the coach and says, I can play, you play him. I mean, just because Whedon had a half-decent drive and got a 60-yard screen pass by DeMarco Murray. He had two half-decent drives. And you...
Well, Romo came back and they stopped. Just think about if Whedon doesn't win the game. What does everybody say? To me, that's fine. I don't know. They say, why wasn't Tony Romo allowed back in back in? Yeah, and now. We're playing. What if news comes out today? Tony Romo should not have gone back in because now he's out for the year. Right, yeah. So he did come back in. They're calling it a back contusion. Yeah, he looked like he was in a ton of pain. Yes. They're running scants.
Do you think, I mean, just gut feeling it's Tuesday, so unfortunately we don't have end-of-week practice reports. Do you think there's any chance he misses this game on Sunday against Arizona? I think he plays. I think Arizona saw what Washington did of just jailbreaking essentially every play, and he's going to get hit and it's not going to be good. Yeah. He looked very bad after the injury. He had no mobility. Really bad.
He had about 20 yards he could have gained on that last play to get the first down. Keep your eye on the practice reports about Tony Romo if he's your quarterback. And if you're a Des Bryant owner, if you're a Witten owner. I'm not too concerned, actually, about Des Bryant. I think Whedon actually might force feed him a little bit more. Yeah. But probably means nothing new for DeMarco, if anything more carries. He's fine. He's a beast. Let's move it.
This week's fantasy stud muffins. Stud muffins. There's a lot of interesting names in terms of guys that kind of played above their fantasy pay grade this week. Yes. And I'd love to kind of hear your opinion on a couple of these. The muffins are fluffy and studly. Yes, they are. I don't know if I'm making too much about the Nick Foles performance, 411 yards, two touchdowns, two picks. I don't think...
I just don't think it's going to continue. Arizona gives up a lot of yards through the air. I was taking a look back at Nick Foles. He's actually had pretty good numbers throughout the year. He had one just stinker of a game, which has killed his average and his position. And he's turning the ball over. Yeah, unlike last year. Last year he was just getting away with weird things. But he's okay. If he's your starter.
then I probably keep rolling with him. Let me, maybe we should, uh, in this section, this is just an idea. Okay. Maybe we should, uh, say whether he's a stud moving forward or not. Maybe that should be kind of the determiner for some of these. Oh, okay. What do you think? Uh, I will continue. Okay, so you think he's, I will, I think he stays muffin. The stud continues. Yeah. The stud muffin continues for falls.
Mark Ingram had a monster game, 24 carries, 172 yards on the ground and a touchdown. He looked the same way he looked in the beginning of the year, which is like a different running back. Yes, he looks. He is... Does he seem thinner to you? Did he lose weight? You're the Saints correspondent. Did he lose weight this offseason? That has not been confirmed, but that is a lot of the beat riders are talking about that. Are they? He just looks. The way he looks, he's moving.
Much better. He looks like he has a different body. He's also playing for a contract. How about that money? How about that money, money? The contract years do tend to change how guys play. And running backs get about one of those. Yeah, so you've got to go for it. So what is he going forward? Because is Kyrie Robinson, Pierre Thomas. We're out this week. I think...
He remains, he'll go back to his running back to status because Sean Payton will screw it up because he will overthink it. I think he does have a good matchup this week against Carolina. And they, yeah, and it's a short week. Thomas is still going to be out. I don't expect Kyrie Robinson to be back. He's probably another good solid start. You ride it this week again. I'm going to let you take the next one just because Lorenzo. Yes, Talia Farrow.
So his yard wasn't huge, but he was seven for 27. He got two touchdowns, two catches for 42 yards. The bigger story here is what you were about to say, I think, which is that Bernard Pierce was a healthy scratch. Exactly. That's a big deal. Yeah, this means teleferro if they keep things as is, is the compliment to Justin Forsett. And he's the big back. He's going to get the touchdowns. Now, is Harbaugh?
going Cleveland on us where they scratched West one week, so we thought it had it all figured out, and then they decided no, Crowell is now below West. Yeah. Like that situation could happen. Yeah, based on the week of practice. Right. But I would keep this muffin in the oven, and I would let it simmer at 350 for...
