Fantasy Football Podcast for Week 9/10

Coach Mike Patton came out and said, we got to get Isaiah Crowell more carries, more involved. How many carries did he have? I think he had a goose egg. Zero. Yeah. So who knows? That's a clown show. It is. And I always want to root for Cleveland. Yeah, it's that like puppy with three legs thing. Yeah, I guess. They have a winning record. They have a big game, big division game with Cincinnati this week. How do you see that shaking out?

Is Josh Gordon back yet? No. Yeah. Not soon enough. I don't know. I actually think that I'm interested in that game, which is strange. Is it in Cleveland? That one I cannot tell you. I can double check. It's in Cincinnati. Yeah, I don't think they're going to win that one. All right. So moving on. You're going to fly through a few of these. Steve Smith has had three poor fantasy games in a row. You talked about that on the podcast last week.

Yeah, he's kind of market correcting. Yeah, and I don't see it. He'll probably, he probably has maybe one or two big games left, but I don't see him producing like he did at the beginning of the year when people were thinking they had a steal of the draft. Kelvin Benjamin had a terrible game because Cam Newton had a terrible game, but Benjamin also dropped a touchdown. He was targeted a ton, too. Yeah, but he dropped a touchdown for the second week in a row. I think he's still safe as a wide receiver too.

Terrence Williams, he's just getting market correction. He had two for 19. He also has no Tony Romo. Yeah. Mike Wallace, is 3 for 50, which I think is a little surprising considering the beatdown that the dolphins put on. He's been, he's another guy that's been like, he's the ivory of the wide receivers. He has had a touchdown every week, and it's about time he didn't get one. Andre Johnson was 2 for 12, and these Texans are maddening me.

But that's not the John men. That is in driving me crazy because I have a friend, and he asks me every week, which Texan do I play? And I get it wrong every week. Between Johnson and Hopkins? Yeah. Oh. Because he's in a PPR. So I thought. Oh, Hopkins had a great game. Hopkins had a huge game. And last time I told him to play Hopkins, that's when Andre Johnson had his huge game. And I don't know. I thought I was. You don't know what you're doing. You shouldn't run a podcast. Hey, that's just two guys.

I have no good time. Tonyo Gates had a terrible game because Phil Rivers had a terrible game. And Greg Olson had a terrible game because Cam Newton had a terrible game. And that's two in a row for Greg Olson. Worried? I'm starting to be concerned about Olson. He also doesn't have the pedigree of being a consistent every week. That's what concerns me. I will say, and maybe it could be a bias because I...

want him to do well because I own him. But my eyes, at least when watching the game, felt like he was the most reliable receiver in that game. He had, I think, four targets, and the one he didn't catch was not catchable. His hands looked great, but he also did have to block a lot because the line was so bad. Yeah. That's a tough situation. It's like Jason Witton, where he's just, he's blocking, so he's not getting any kind of production. So let's talk about some, uh,

Let's talk about some new guys. Put me in, coach. Let's talk about the waiver wire. Let's do it. As we mentioned, we are correspondence for fantasy pros.com, which is a fantastic fantasy tool on the internets. I love the internet. You can get all kinds of information. They have rankings there, and what they do is they take experts from all over the fantasy football world.

They average them out. They get consensus picks. So you're not just relying on one source. They have start sit questions. I mean, they have really, it's a one-stop shop. It is. Let's say that. It's a one-stop shop. And every week they put out, they take, I think, four experts, and they ask them about the waiver wire. And then they kind of average out what these people think for waiver pickups. So we grab that list. And sitting on top of the list is Alfred Blue.

I'm, I guess I'm not surprised because of the opportunity that could be coming his way. But we've seen the Alfred Blue show. It's been okay. It reminds me of the Brandon Oliver show. Which was, it had a good run. I don't know, I wouldn't call the Brandon Oliver experiment a success.

That's fair. He probably won some people some games at first game. Yes. If you are the foster owner and Blues out there, make an effort. Yeah, what are you doing? You know it. You've met Aaron Foster before, right? So Alfred Blues at the top of the list. You also have, if we're just talking running backs and the waiver relevance, Charles Sims is the guy we talked about last week. Probably not enough. He's a guy that I think.

You know, and I can stand alone on this if I need to. Okay, well, let me hear what you have to say. In my opinion, Charles Sims is one of those guys that could be the fantasy difference maker for playoffs. He's a guy who's been on waivers. He's a guy that the coaching staff loves, and he's a pass catching running back as well. And I just think he has the opportunity to come in and make a monster impact. Not necessarily this week. This week should be his first week that he's active.

But I'm talking about two, three weeks out, weeks 14, 15, 16. I think Charles Sims is a guy. You have to, you might be starting. Now, for me, I would, I've been a big make it rainy guy all year. They like him. And what's hard for me to sift through is every time Rainey gets the opportunity, he produces. You know, he did, in the Atlanta game, he had two fumbles where.

Lovie Smith did his best Bill Belichick. Yeah, I'm going to banish you because you fumbled the ball once, which I think the first banishing related. It worked into the second one. You got in his head, which is why you don't bench these guys for making one mistake. And so it's, I think they're moving past Doug Martin. They've seen that he is not the guy who we thought he was.

and I think it's difficult when you, they have to weigh winning games versus do they find out what they have in the guy that they, they don't need to win games. They need to play Charles Sims. Yeah, that's my opinion. He's on his first year of a good contract, but you still have to win, or the boss, the guy who writes your checks gets...

mad at you yeah so i don't know exactly i would still pick him up absolutely but i i think bobby rainie's the guy he is he is the guy right now martin is i think in a firm third right now yeah i would agree with that plus just just where he is on the depth chart let me actually i'm going to read through some of these names and then let's just pick out a couple and talk about him but the consensus list here for fantasy process alfred blue at number one terence west like we said he had a productive game

for Cleveland as number two. Alan Robinson. You love him. Wide receiver. I love Alan Robinson. Alan Robinson's the guy that's like chasing points. Every time you sign him, he has a bad game. Every time he's on the way where he has a good one. Charles Simms. He gets targets, man. They actually have Isaiah Crowell for whatever reason up top. For me, I'd stay away. Because you have no idea. Yeah, Jarvis Landry for Miami had a good game. Jordan Matthews, for Philadelphia, had a good game.

Daniel Thomas is up the list. This is more so I think... Because he got hurt. This got pushed because... Well, not him, but... Miller. Yeah, Miller got hurt. So Daniel Thomas is on that list. Kenny Britt, 92% of snaps. I don't mind him. Aziata. Get him off. Get him off the list. A reaction to the three touchdown week. And then you had Damien Williams, Kenny Stills, Owen Daniels, Greg Jennings, Charles Clay, and a few other guys. You know, there's some missing names on this list. I like...

Yeah, which we'll get to those guys. Artagius Bryant is not on this list. Really? Maybe his ownership is too high. Yeah, perhaps. I think they go 40% Yahoo is their threshold. Ownership percentage? Yes. 40%. I kind of like the taking a flyer on Greg Jennings. I know he's on his biweek right now. Is this based on the...

Patterson frustration or what? Yeah. Jennings is, he's good. He's a good wide receiver. And as Bridgewater gets more and more comfortable, they're going to get Rudolph back, which teams will have to pay attention. McKinnon has been coming in lately. There could be a special someone who might return to the Vikings. Oh, we already talked about him. Yeah. So Adrian Peterson could be back.

and this just in he truly regrets the incident yeah and this just in i think it's fine is four thousand dollars ah well that's not our job we're not in charge of that it's just funny sometimes and so i i kind of like greg jennings um more than those if bryant was on this list i would talk about him again which i did last week but i like him

are like Jennings. Now, two names that we found highly suspicious that were missing from this were Mark Sanchez and Adrian Peterson. Peterson was absent, certainly, because he's probably owned in any non-redraft. If you're in a redraft league and he's sitting there out on. I guarantee he's on the wire for almost every redraft league. Yeah, that's what I mean. In redraft leagues he is. If he's in a dynasty league, something like that, he's taken.

Yeah, you can grab Peterson on the off chance he plays. Sanchez is coming into an offense in which, you know, he's Mark Sanchez, but up to this point he's produced in an offense that's made to produce. Foles has been having a really bad year. And still having a fantasy relevant year. So, yeah, those are two guys missing. I mentioned Martavius Bryant, who produced again. Like you said, his ownership percentage might be up, but I still think he's available in quite a few leagues. I know he's available in one of ours.

The only other name on the list I'll just mention briefly is Kenny Britt. He did score this week and he's getting, he's essentially there won. He has to be now. So depending on matchups, if it's a game you think St. Louis is throwing the ball a lot. He is a spot start worthy guy. I was going to say, I was trying to find something else to say, but I've ran out of things to say. So let's move it on. All right, let's.

Now, with this, if you are a new listener, we're trying to find guys who have a lower ownership. Lower star percentage. Yes. So, and they're not high up in the rankings. They're not obvious. And then we talk about these are guys who might help you out this week. So at quarterback.

We just talked about I'm taking Mark Sanchez. Butt fumble. The butt fumble. The butt fumble. He's playing the Panthers who are, they rank 26th against the quarterback for fantasy. In six of nine games, they've allowed multiple touchdowns to the quarterback. Their defense is not good. We've talked about the, we just talked about Eagles are a high-powered offense.

Now, I am not completely on the Mark Sanchez bandwagon. I don't think he's all of a sudden going to be magically great, but the Chip Kelly system seems so friendly to a quarterback that it's hard to not take the chance that on Sanchez, especially versus the Panthers.

I'm going to go with Derek Carr this week. Yes. Derek Carr, he does not have what would be a good matchup defensively. You know, Denver is a good defense. But what you see with games like this is Denver is actually giving up the 20, I guess this would be the third most fantasy points to quarterbacks because of a lot of garbage time. Teams playing Denver have to hurl the ball around. And Derek Carr is a hurler. He likes to sling it around the field. So I like Derek Carr as a...

You know, emergency start this week. A low-level stream. Sure. Now, is it just me? I don't know how much of the Seattle games you watched. Does it look like Derek Carr's wearing eyeliner? Always does. Does he? It always looks that way. I don't know why. I completely agree. Does he just have the world's thickest eyelashes? Yeah, I don't know. Like, he looks like he is doing Halloween all year long. When I got a close-up, I was like, what? I've always thought that, too. The raccoon.
