I've not come down yet. Oh, my goodness. I'm on the clouds. William Wallace has. Cloud night. Did you knock William Wallace down again? Yeah. Where is he? I don't know. He's gone. You don't understand. How do you do that? All right. Nobody knows what we're talking about. Welcome to the show. The fancy football is back again. I'm going to be honest with you guys last night. Every single Thursday night, sometimes I got things going on, so I get to watch the first half of the game. I record the second half, and I go back and I watch the second half.

3:04 ↗

First half was so darn boring. I cheated. I said, you know what? I'm just going to look on my phone. I'm going to break the silence. There's no way this game got exciting. I'd rather just not sit through it. And it was like 31, 14 Cardinals. And I was like, oh, stuff happened. I forced myself to watch it. Well, I watched every inglorious minute of it. In glorious minute. Yeah, yeah, we're going to get into that in just a minute.

3:28 ↗

Welcome to the podcast. We're here. It's the fantasy footballers. We're back. It's Friday, and week five is upon us. We're going to catch you up on everything you could possibly need to know for this weekend, including going through the rest of the matchups. And we've got our daily dose segment today. Ben Cummins, Ben Cummins, Ben Cummins from our website. The Ben Cummins. The Ben Cummins is going to share some DFS picks towards the end of the show today. What else do we have going on? We got all the news.

3:57 ↗

It's a, hey, you know what today is? Yeah. It's a Foot Clan Friday. We're giving away. We are giving away a couple gift certificates. Yeah, a couple $40 things for Shopballers.com. Yeah, so you guys can get some free shirts or mugs. Perhaps. Whatever. Whatever you want. You are very confident. We already, these are just members of Jointhefoot.com that we're going to randomly select every Friday.

4:23 ↗

However, we forgot last Friday, so we've got two names today. Yeah. Two names for Foot Clan Friday winners, Mark Folds. Mark Folds, congratulations, and James Vettors. Is that right? James Vettors? That's right. Oh, right. Yeah. Mark Folds, James Vettors. Congratulations. I wonder if that's Eddie's brother. Probably not. Probably not. You're always thinking. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you for that. So, um.

4:50 ↗

I guess we want to review last night's game. Uh, yeah. So, I mean, started off a little bit rough. Of course. Things changed. Yeah. So it was pretty nasty there at the beginning for Drew Stanton in the Arizona Cardinals. It was so equally as rough for the San Francisco 49ers. But there was one shining beacon of hope for the fantasy world. For the Cardinals. My Twitter was bombarded. I could see nothing but music notes.

5:19 ↗

But I was very excited about it. David Johnson. Oh, man. Monster game. He is good. Making the dreams come true. I was listening to an interview with him this morning. And him in his kind-hearted, nice way that he speaks. He just said, I basically he said he felt invincible out there. He was like, yeah, I just felt like I couldn't do anything wrong.

5:52 ↗

It was glorious on Twitter to see. There was, I saw quite a few non-believers of David Johnson's talent said, I think I've got to come around now. The guy is very good. Thursday night football can do that. You know, when we set our pre-draft rankings, it was not based on the fact that we're from Arizona. It was based on the fact that you can see, what you can see.

6:15 ↗

on the tape. 27 carries for David Johnson last night. And he didn't even have to do it through the air. 157 yards on the ground, had another three catches, 185 yards total, two touchdowns, and was going up against the defense that knew what was coming the entire game. And he was doing it in the second half of the game without either starting guard. Yeah. Yeah.

6:37 ↗

Both guards went down, which is something we should monitor. Moving forward, yes. I offered a lot for David Johnson yesterday morning in our League of Record, and I was turned down. I offered like C.J. Anderson and Doug Baldwin and a pick and DeAndre Washington, and he said no. And he looks like a smart, smart man, because there are certain players that can win you your fantasy leagues, Lev Bell, David Johnson, you know, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones. Some of these guys that can just week in and week out, you.

7:04 ↗

get 10 extra points. Right. And we had talked about, you know, there's just no confidence in anybody in this game. So for those of you, I mean, you bench Larry. Hey, I benched Larry. You, I still think you, the result was incorrect, but Larry Fitzgerald succeeded in spite of Drew Stanton playing horrifically. Drew Stanton had 11 completions for 124 yards. Out of 28 attempts. It just happened that all of that went to Larry Fitzgerald. And Jeremy Curley.

7:34 ↗

Jeremy Curley... Number one. We have to pay attention to him. You have to...

7:39 ↗

Consider him a flex start every week. He has three of five weeks now where he has been a valuable fantasy wide receiver. You know, remember Matt Harmon before the season, the love that he had for Bruce Ellington and that same role in this offense. Now that we've seen it three out of five, I definitely think curly, so long as, you know, Blaine Gabbert stays as a quarterback should be a flex consideration. So let's talk about that. And by the way, Carlos Hyde had a very good game. Yes, of course. Over 100 yards again in total offense.

8:08 ↗

Does Colin Kaepernick find his way to the field? Because what's happening is, I think Colin Kaepernick's not the same player he was. And Blaine Gabbard isn't the player you want. And so. The problem is, and Blaine Gabbard is the player he's been. Now, Blank Gabbard, despite all odds, had a very good fantasy day because he ran for like 70 yards. Yeah. He was 10 for 70 and a touchdown on the ground. I mean, that's like a nice running back day, which is good because he wasn't really a quarterback.

8:35 ↗

Yeah, the Cardinals, and this is worth knowing or paying attention to going forward. Cardinals have been really atrocious with running quarterbacks. We saw that with Tyrod Taylor just destroying the Cardinals' defense. So the next time they come up against a running quarterback, we need to pump up their yards on the ground. Yeah, you're right. So let's go ahead. We're going to move on to the news. Sure. That was a question, apparently. Reminder, everybody, Mike, on Sunday.

9:03 ↗

Like he always does. We'll be on Periscope answering questions before the games. So check out our Twitter at the FF Ballers, and that is where he will pop up. His majestic beard will suddenly appear, and you can tune in on Periscope and ask your own question, and he will try to parse the 5,000 questions. Oh, that's great, man. It's good stuff. It's a Sunday morning party. All right. News and notes from around the league. You all right? Oh, yeah. All right. Is there any update?

9:37 ↗

Or information about the Miami Tennessee game based on the hurricane situation. The dolphins are preparing as if the game is happening as is. I don't think we're going to have any more true information until we get told an official outcome. But right now, the last I heard is that Tanna Hill and the dolphins are preparing for, you know, to play in Miami. All right. The Carlos Williams news yesterday looks like, well,

10:07 ↗

Looks like it's not going to happen. Yeah, that was a really weird situation. I mean, it was the breaking news. They were going to work him out. They expect to sign him. And then, then they didn't sign it. Right. So we're, I think at this point, we are going to simply jump into injury updates, like we said yesterday, let you know who's in, who's out, what's up, what's down, who's hurt, who to start. I mean, so many injuries thus far this year. So let's catch up. What's it going to pay me fly? Are you in?

10:36 ↗

All right. We did get news yesterday. Interout Cam Newton. Out. It's trending out. It's not official, but it's been reported that he's out. Yeah. So would you start? How does this change the landscape of that game in general? Because all of a sudden, I mean, does James Winston move up? Because that game's going to be more competitive than we thought it was? No, I think Derek Anderson is a fine...

11:01 ↗

fill in for that offensive system for, you know, just spot starts. An extended period of time, maybe I would start to adjust things. No, I was talking about Winston. Right. But I'm saying that I think Derek Anderson is a fine fill-in so that the competitive nature of the game will remain almost the same. See, and if anything, if Winston were to move here, I think you would move down in the sense that...

11:24 ↗

You know, I'm not getting boat race, no garbage time. Exactly. You know, the total points in the game. I'm sure the Vegas over under. If the line moves, it's going to move down, not up. What's up with Trevor Simeon? I think that he's going to play, but that's a dangerous play for me personally. He has been practicing in part, and when you're practicing and you're the starter, I presume you're going to play. But I agree with Mike. It's one of those things where.

11:52 ↗

I would not have the confidence to play him, even if he's the starter. Even though I like him, I have him highly rated right now because there's such a chance on that shoulder. You take a sack and you reagravate that shoulder, then you play half a game. And it stinks because against Atlanta is basically the best match for a quarterback right now. All right. In or out at the running back position, Matt Forte? He's going to play. The X-Rays came back negative. He's practicing in full. Charles Sims, Jason.

12:21 ↗

Charles Sims did not practice Wednesday, did not practice Thursday, so we certainly have to monitor that. If you had to take a guess? If I had to take a guess, I think he would play because he's been in the workhorse role Monday night game that he hasn't had and he has the extra day. I think they're giving him some rest, but definitely have to monitor that. Garrett Blunt? He's going to play. He's going to play. Latavius Murray, do you think he's going to play? No. I don't think so. Arian Foster.

12:48 ↗

I would say no. I don't think he's going to play this week. Rashad Jennings. I still don't think he's going to play. I don't understand. I agree. If the issue is that you have a cast on your hand and you can't hold on to the ball, you can't catch, you can't block. It doesn't change as weeks go on until that cast comes off. Wide receiver, in or out, Des Bryant? I'm going to say out. He's still not practicing. Decker did not practice today. Yeah, he's going to be out. Julian Edelman. I think he plays, but him popping up on a Thursday.
