Fantasy Football Podcast 2016 - Week 5 Matchups, Daily Dose, In-or-Out

which was 1.5 higher than on the road. So he's at home, a great spot for him. And his only game at home this season, he threw four touchdowns and only 15, on only 15 completions. And Eli Apple and Dominic Rogers, Carmardi, I don't think played last week. And I think they're still banged up. So check the reports right there. But he's in play. Big Ben as well. He's at home again. We saw what they did last week.

These are the most expensive guys. Rogers is 9,100, Brady is 8,700. Big Ben is 8,600. But I'm thinking about paying up for him. The Jets have given up the seventh most past yards and six most past touchdowns in the league. And Jarrell Revis is questionable. I'm not even sure how much that matters at this point. So he's in a great, he's in a great spot. I really like Eli Manning too.

because the Packers have given up the fourth most pass yards in the league and Sam Shields is out again. That's a game that I'm really interested in. It's probably my favorite game of the week. It has Bonanza potential between Rogers and Eli Manning. And last one is Derek Carr at home. Chargers are giving up the six most past yards and there's no Jason Verrett. So those are kind of your higher options. Who's your favorite low low end guy? The cheap guy where you're like, I'm going to the moon with this guy.

Yeah, I mean, I think we have to look at Brian Hoyer again. Yes. Look at his prime. Yeah, he's $6,000. You know, Carson Wentz, the Broncos quarterbacks are interesting, but they're all up there in salary. And you got Brian Hoyer sitting there at $6,000. The Colts are giving up the ninth most past yards this year. And Brian Hoyer has been, has finished as a quarterback won each of the past two weeks. So if you're going cheap, I think you have to look at Brian Hoyer again. Love it. So let's move over to the running back position. How are you handling it this week, my friend?

Okay, so Leveon Bell is always in play. He's the best running back in the NFL. Always. His first week back he had 82% of the running back touches for the Steelers, saw six targets, caught five balls. It looks like Eli Rogers is going to be out again. And I personally think Levyon Bell is the second best wide receiver on the Steelers. So you're going to get the volume. You're going to get him putting up points. We also, I can't believe I'm even saying this, but got to talk about DeMarco Murray for a second. He's the main guy on the Titans.

offense right now. I was hesitant to use him weeks one through three because he was only seeing 60 to 70% of the running back touches for the Titans. Derek Henry was getting some play. But in week four, he touched the ball. He saw 90% of the running back touches for the Titans. And the dolphins are given up the fourth most rush yards this year. So he's in play at 8,400.

Melvin Gordon's a guy we got to look at again. Now, he only had 36 rush yards on 19 carries last week, which isn't great. You've got to check the injury reports with the offensive line. But in week three, he touched it 91% of the time in the backfield for the Chargers. And last week, it was 89%. So you know he's getting most of the opportunities. Obviously, we want volume for running backs. He catches passes. He leads the NFL in rush touchdowns, and the Raiders are giving up the second most rush yards in the league.

One more, I'm just going to throw at you real quick. Sure. This is kind of more GPP, but Todd Gurley interests me a little bit. They're at home. The bills have given up five rushing touchdowns this year. Three of those were against Forte. If you look at some of their other matchups, they haven't really faced great running teams. I know the Ravens were in week one where they had, you know, the horrible.

For set, Terrence West committee going on there. Benny Cunningham got hurt last week. He had a hamstring injury. And because of that, Gurley caught five passes. He caught all five of his targets. We know he can catch the ball. The problem's just been he hasn't gotten the opportunities. But monitor Benny Cunningham. If he's out, Gurley is really interesting. So somebody to just think about it, 7,600. If you're going to go cheap, Terrence West is an option. And he's 6,400, so he's a little bit cheaper. It sounds like Kenneth Dixon is going to play.

But there's also reports that they're going to bring him along slowly. He's missed all this time with a knee injury. Buck Allen was inactive for the first two games. So that shows how much they love him. And West's first real chance last week. He got 21 carries, rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown. And now he gets a Washington defense at home that's giving up the third most rush yards in the league and has given eight, given up eight rush touchdowns, which is tied for the most in the league. And two sneaky PPR plays.

You got Duke Johnson and Belial Powell. Duke Johnson has seen 15 targets over the last two weeks, and Belial Powell has seen 16 targets over the past two weeks. Johnson's 5300 and Powell's 5,100. And if you look at the game flow of those two games, the Jets and the Browns are probably going to have to be throwing a lot. Yeah, sure. All right, let's move over to the wide receiver. Do you have a couple, give me your GPP guys that you're throwing out this week for the wide receivers.

Okay, so the number one is Odo Beckham. Absolutely love Odo Beckham this week. Didn't really love some of the stuff he said in the media this week, but I'm not going to let that take money out of my pocket. If you look at Antonio Brown, Antonio Brown's $9,600, you can get Odo Beckham for $1,100 cheaper. I think he's an elite GPP play. We have all this talk about. He's not seeing the targets as much, but if you look at his first four weeks, he's actually had pretty similar stats. He just hasn't caught the touchdowns.

He's seen 39 targets this year, which is only nine off the league lead. Sam Shields is out again, which is why I talked about liking Eli Manning. And if you look at the last two wide receiver ones that have gone against the Packers, Stefan Diggs put up nine for 182 in a touchdown. And Marvin Jones put up six for 205 and two touchdowns. So I absolutely love Odell Beckham. If we want to look at Strictly GPP, I'm interested in Brandon Marshall a lot. You got no, you got no Eric Decker.

Brandon Marshall is 11th in the NFL in targets with 39, same amount as Odell Beckham. He saw 12 last week in the first game without Decker. They're probably going to have to throw a lot. I just said that with Belil Powell, and the Steelers are giving up the third most passing yards in the NFL this year. Jordy Nelson is interesting for a stack with O'Dell Beckham, but he's pretty high up there. I think Amari Cooper is another elite GPP play here because obviously the talks all about Michael Crabtree, and he's a great play too.

But I just look at it, and Jason Vrette's now out. Cooper has seen 35 targets to Crabtree's 37. So those are the two guys in the offense. And if this is Cooper's time, he could be a great GPP play because people are going to be off of them. Moving over to the tight ends, if you're wading through the bar, if he middle tier tight ends, give me like two or three options that you're looking at.

Okay, I really like Will Ty. It looks like Larry Donnell is going to be out with a concussion. You got to make sure he is. But if he's out, Will Ty's cheap. He's $4,800. He's in my favorite game of the week. Giants Packers already talked about loving Eli Manning.

Ty caught 42 passes last year. Most of that was in the last seven games with Dinell out. He caught four passes last week after Dinell went out, which was the most all season. So I really like Ty. And Zach Ertz is very interesting as well because he probably has the best tied end matchup of the week. The Lions have given up 12 past touchdowns this year, which is the second most. They gave up 12 pass touchdowns to tight ends last year, which was the most to tight ends.

They gave up three touchdowns to tight ends in week one against the Colts. They gave up one to Delaney Walker in week two, one to Richard Rogers in week three, and one to Zach Miller in week four. The Eagles love to throw to the tight end. If you add up the targets between Ertz and Trey Burton, they've seen 20 targets in three games. And players coming back from injury are always low-owned if we're talking about GPP tournaments. So Zach Ertz is very interesting as well.

All right. And the defense, are you paying up for the defense? I think I am. You look at the Broncos at 5,100. Now, again, talking about GPP plays, they're going against the Falcons. The best defense in the league, you can get at probably a low-owned price because the Falcons and Matt Ryan have been so good. But the Broncos are at home. I don't expect Matt Ryan to keep it up. Maybe he'll just keep shutting me up. But I think the Broncos will have a pretty good game. But the Vikings are $4,800.

right up there with the Broncos' best defense in the league. They're at home against the Texans. We saw the Patriots make Brock Osweiler look terrible a few weeks ago in Foxborough. And you look at it, the Vikings are only $800 more than the cheapest defense. So I'm looking at them because I also like the Steelers, but the Steelers are $100 more than the Vikings. So I'm thinking probably just play it safe with either Broncos or Vikings.
