Fantasy Football 2017 - Starts of the Week, Week 7 Matchups, Bad Luck

This week? I think you start Adrian Peterson. I've got him as a running back two this week, but he certainly has the upside of a one. We just, we don't know yet. Exactly. We don't know yet what happens when game script. If we're, if the, if the Arizona Cardinals are down by two scores, we have no idea if they will still continue to try to run the ball with, with Adrian Peterson, or if it then turns completely back to Andre Ellington, which I expect. Who is hurt?

Yeah, so. Missing practice. I definitely play, I definitely play Adrian Peterson this week. I play him as well, but just don't expect what happened last week to be the new normal for Adrian Peterson. I have him at my wide receiver 19 right now. That's outside of my line. But I'm going to take it. Yeah, there we go. It's going to say, you're not much of a man. Got to be a man. Is that just a blanket statement? Yeah. You're just not much of a man. Well.

I really don't want to touch Sammy Watkins. I don't care if Patrick Peterson's in or out. I'm not touching him. But you guys have a different opinion if Patrick Peterson sits in this game? If Patrick Peterson's out, I think that Sammy Watkins is worth the flex as a wide receiver three with upside. Yeah, I agree. I am actually starting Sammy Watkins in one of our leagues. Doesn't make it right. It does not make it right. That's true.

The news on Patrick Peterson, he traveled. He was pleasantly surprised with how his leg did in travel is what he said. So see and crumpets. Yeah, they are. Rub it in. They're going to let him rest. He's going to be limited this week and try it out in the game. My worry with him is that he could, you know, you just, you can't avoid a quad injury. If you're.

sprinting after a guy and the quad goes, it's out of your hands. You can't really do something to stop that from happening. I'm also not 100% convinced that he would shadow Sammy Watkins in this game right now. I mean, if I was the defensive coordinator, I'm not sure if it's, it might be better to shadow Cooper Cup, who is clearly the, you know, has more rapport. So I think Sammy Watkins on talent alone.

could get the job done. I think as the Cardinals, you have to put Patrick Peterson on the big play guy. Cooper Cup, that's not his job. I like Jared Gough in this game. So, I mean, there's not a pass catcher for the Rams who you feel great about starting because Gough has been spreading it out. It's this guy one week, this guy the other week. But I'm perfectly fine streaming Jared Gough, as I'd said earlier in the week.

I wanted to circle back real quick. John Brown, he is off the injury report. He has had a couple solid fantasy games, mostly on the back of touchdowns. Yeah, I think you can play him. You play him? I do. Jason? Yeah, yeah, you can certainly throw him out there. He's getting enough touchdown, enough targets, and he's always a touchdown. And I want to say this now, Robert Woods is going to have the best game for any wide receiver on the Los Angeles Rams this week. Yeah, I don't doubt that. That's...

He's a really good sneaky play this week. Sneaky snort? Yeah, sneaky snort. I mean, if you look at his receptions, three of the last four weeks, he's had five or more receptions. That's quality. Quarterback starts the week are always tough because when you're in a one quarterback league, there's just so many guys who you feel like they're on to start. But.

You got to stay in these flames of Kurt Cousins, the Monday night matchup. I'm not going to fear the prime time with Kirk Cousins. And I've heard from people. Kirk Cousins. I saw the meltdown of Kurt Cousins in prime time. And I say, I also saw him on Thanksgiving torch the Dallas Cowboys. So I'm not scared of him going up against the Philadelphia Eagles in this divisional matchup. Kirk Cousins, the QB6 in points per game. He's doing it.

It feels like he's got a crew of nameless, nameless offensive weapons. He's pulling the Tom Brady. Yes, that's a good point. Kurt Cousins is as good as Tom Brady said by my friend, Andy Holloway. That's a bold statement. I don't know what if I said that. My start of the week is Tyrod Taylor against Tampa. Just look at what Carson Palmer did last week. They have given up 10 passing touchdowns to quarterbacks in their five games talking about Tampa Bay.

Tyrod, you've got the floor with the rushing attack. I think you're going to have a pretty competitive, interesting game here in Tyrod Taylor to me on a week where stream options, they're not there. I'd play them over any of the quarterbacks on Tampa, for example, whether it's Fitzpatrick or Winston, so tie rod's my start. Yeah, I'm not going to overthink this one this week. It's Matt Ryan for me. I thought it was Sammy. I have thrown, I have thrown shade on Matt Ryan coming into the year. And, you know,

Look, a lot of people, Andy thinks, you know, everyone in the world is going to start Matt Ryan. I think there's going to be people out there that because they've experienced what Matt Ryan has done lately, which is really not help your team. He's got six touchdowns in the last, or six interceptions in the last three games, only six touchdowns on the season, and we're entering into week seven. So he has not been good. He's the 23rd ranked quarterback on a points per game basis on the season.

But don't overthink this. The New England Patriots defense has been super bad, and we keep waiting for them to get it fixed. But every time I watch the game and look at the film, I go, they're just, they just suck. I mean, they're broken plays. You go, oh, well, that was because of a broken play. But you say that every five minutes. So if they're, I mean, their defense does not have it together. You just got that piece of the vase glued back on.

Then it breaks again. The Patriots are the 32nd out of 32 teams against the quarterback position. They're giving up an average of more than 10 points on top of the, like every week, the quarterback that plays gets an extra 10 points on top of their average. I'm starting Matt Ryan. Fire him up.

A couple of updates for you. Marquis Lee did not practice again on Thursday. Uh-oh. So that would be a rotation to Alan Hearns if Lee were to miss the game. Blal Powell not practicing again. Sterling Shepard is practicing and is expected to play against the Seahawks. And Jordan Matthews is practicing as well. So Sterling, he's not more than a wide receiver three with maybe two upside against Seattle. It's not a good matchup. Correct.

All right, running back start of the week. I'll kick it off. I'm going to go Tevin Coleman. Look, Tevin Coleman, at least nine carries in the last two games. He vultured a touchdown from Devante Freeman last week, and he gets to take on that very breakable.

New England Patriots defense. Look, he normally makes his hay in the passing game and the red zone. The pants are 29th in the league against running backs. You can do a lot worse than Tevin Coleman this week. If I had Coleman and Freeman, I'd play them both. I'll go with CJ Anderson this week. A lot of people aren't excited to play him. My eyebrows are up. My eyes are wide. Yeah, you worry about the three-headed, you know, beast, the time share. What's going on? He only got nine carries last week. He still has.

Three games with over 20 carries in three out of the five. They had their buy week already. I can't take those away. And they can't take those away. He still got them. Last week was this really weird week that as Mike says, you have to crap up and get rid of. The thing is, is they were down and they brought in the past catching role with Booker and tried to shake things up. They lost that game when they only gave CJ Anderson nine carries.

this week, they're going up against the Los Angeles Chargers. They are very, very beatable on the ground. When you look at the amount of yards given up, not, you know, when you look at like points against the running backs, certain teams, they give it up on the ground, and certain teams, they give it up through the air to the running back position. So they look like they are, you know, really bad against running backs. But the reality is they've got a good, you know, good game to stop the run. They just.

lose on those screen passes. But this is a matchup that I think fits C.J. Anderson perfect. There's only been one game all year where they haven't given up over 100 rushing yards to the opposing team. There's been a game where they give up 200 yards rushing on the ground to the opposing team and three out of the last four weeks a touchdown on the ground. I think C.J. Anderson, don't be afraid. I'm giving you the confidence to start him. Man, I really, really.

Don't have the confidence to C.G. Anderson. What's the line for a waterbed on that one? I would say. Finish inside the top what? You give me the line. Top 15? Start of the week. He's your start of the week. He is my start of the week. We got a 17 on Larry. Let's go 17 here on C.J. Waterbed. I went back and forth in my head. I'm like, do I just let you say your piece on C.J. And we move on.

I just want to voice my own opposition to it because it's a three-headed monster. And I don't think that there was a report this morning that they're going to ramp up carries for Jamal Charles. So I'm just not as confident as you. We'll see what happens in Los Angeles. Mike, who's your running back start of the week? I'm giving an add-a-boy, an add-a-boy to a man who's kind of in the shadow right now after Mark Ingram had his monster game, but it's Alvin Camara.

running back for the New Orleans Saints 10th most targets at the running back position over the course of the year. This is the first time he actually got double digit carries with Adrian Peterson out. And people are looking, well, the targets weren't really there last week. Don't worry. They're coming. The Green Bay Packers will be beats handedly. Like I said, handedly by the New Orleans Saints. And Alvin Camara will be a benefactor of this.

Drew Breeze is having a great season like I had talked about earlier on the road. We're actually getting good Drew Breeze. So Alvin Camara will be a benefactor of that. I like him a lot.
