The Fantasy Footballer Studio is brought to you by Amazon Prime. To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome in. Friday, the 13th. The Fantasy Footballers Podcast. I think this is why we exist, gentlemen. I think this is why the podcast is here as we. It's time for some therapy. We're here to sit with you in the middle of your sadness. I mean, last week we thought it couldn't get worse. We had Jaden Reed, Goose and Folks as they tried to get into the playoffs. You know what's worse? A goose while you're in the playoffs. Yeah. A Cooper Cup of Nothing. A glass, not half full.
Completely empty. Yeah. So, you know, here we are a touchdown list Thursday night football game and it's not good. It's not good that if you had some of the duds in this game, you certainly hoped your opponent played players from the same game. I mean, that weren't named probably Kyron and Puka because wasn't a big game for Kittle? Forest chump, Joanne Jennings. Yeah, the 49ers side is, it's a disaster. I mean, Joanne, yeah, Joanne Jennings, nine targets. Nine targets. Turned into two for 31. If you didn't watch the game, it was a very wet, rainy game as well. Heavy rain pour. As they call it. Yeah. Rain poor. Is that not a thing? Rain poor? Yeah. Well, heavy rain. Nah, man. Heavy rain poor. No.
No, no, no. There's a heavy downpour. Is that what I was looking for? A heavy rain pour has never been uttered before. Yeah, downpour is what you're looking for. We knew where you were going on that one. Right. You've had way worse. Oh, thank you, Mike. Not today. So, well, I'll get there. Early. I'll get there. The show's just starting. But yeah, it was a wet game and it turned into one of those occasional divisional slug fest where the two defenses are up for the task and the weather. mixed with the fact that these teams see each other often, just the offenses could not get anything going. If I told you that Jennings had nine targets and Kittle had seven targets and Isaac Grinnell got all the work on the ground. Yeah, 16 carries and four targets. Yeah, you would have expected a great game out of that. And, you know, on the other side, it was volume and accumulation for Kyron Williams, 29 for 108. There were no touchdowns in the game.
Matthew Stafford started three for 11. Both quarterbacks, you know, not good. Stafford outperformed Purdy because Purdy had a pick. But the story was Cooper Cup. And that is the reaction that a lot of people are going to go into, I mean, three targets, no catches, and the outpouring of what do I do now? I mean, I am in that boat. Fortunately, not in League of Record or Dynasty. But in three leagues, I. have Cooper Cup and I have zero points in all three of them. And now, you know, the messages coming in are how much do I react to this? You know, do I make other changes to my lineup? You know, what's the appropriate reaction to a zero on Thursday night football? Is my season over because of one player is scoring nothing? No, your season is definitely not over. There are goosees every single week. And while it's not helpful, that's, you know,
The gooses will more often be on the losing team. There are plenty of times that you can overcome a goose. You will make some changes. Now, you don't have to. You don't need to get crazy. But look at your projected total and your opponent's projected total. You know, if it was close because you had, you know, you were a five-point underdog and Cooper Cup had 15 projected points. Now you're a 20-point underdog. Okay, well, now maybe you look at your matchup and say, This flex option player is the wide receiver for his quarterback. That's not going to catch me up. Maybe I pivot to someone else. There were moves like a pivot to pivot type of questions of like, okay, do I sit DJ more now to play darn out Mooney because Cup got me zero. Yeah, I mean, that's not the example. To me, it's more of you're looking for someone that can go crazy. Is it the switch to Winston off a bacon? Winston is.
That's the type of dynamite that sometimes you need. Although, I will say this specifically because I had, you know, I've got Winston right now, he's got a bad weather matchup potentially in his outlook as well. Yeah, I mean, when you have a game like that, you are hoping that, you know, your opponent's not going to get a goose probably, but is it, you know, is it a player that, you know, Ammon Ra last week? Amman Ra was a seven point fantasy player. Amonra St. Brown, that is his lowest output of the week. Zero versus seven. That is not a defining difference in a matchup. You can overcome seven points. Your opponent can have a down game. There are injuries. There are big plays. If you are this far in fantasy football, that means you've been paying attention the whole year. You know what lists have been very long every Monday this year? The pooped in the pants list. We've like.
Guys are underperforming. And this is, it's not the end. It feels awful. But hopefully you were able to sleep it off and say, okay, it's not done. There's still plenty more games to go. You know what it is the end for? What's that? Debo. I mean, he was... Dude. Debo would be a big story if it wasn't for the fact that hopefully everyone was already benching Debo. Oh, man. Because Debo had seven targets. And two carries. His opportunities were great. He finished with 19 combined yards. It's rough, man. I feel like they're, they have to cut him this off season. I mean, his value is going down. He's on the market or right now. Sometimes this happens where teams seem to like, it's a simultaneous thing where it's like, well, maybe they're, they're underwhelming, underperforming.
But then the team is also going away from them because they're not part of the future. Like if the plan is bring Brock Purdy back, get Ayyuk back from injury, Pearsall, Jennings. Debo's not part of that. So why would you build your offense around Debo right now if you're transitioning? His plummet in production is like that age comes for everyone. And he's at like he was on the precipice of he was a trade away. In our dynasty pass, I try and highlight some players who I'm willing to trade away. I thought, like, you might want to get out from Debo. Not because of this. Like this is, like this is actual catastrophic. I thought Debo would just be not worth his redraft price and still give you some points. But holy. There was a point during the year after the IUC injury where I think if Jason could have traded for Debo in every league, you would have.
Because at that junks or what else lines up? It really did seem like Debo should go on a run to take over. I mean, in the years prior, when one of those guys has been injured, the other just becomes a sensational star. And you don't have CMC or Mason. Yeah. You know, like it's insane. But it looks like it's gone. It does not compute. All right, it is Friday. Put Clan Friday. Well, we love celebrating the Foot Clan every Friday. That's the Ted Lassau? Yes. Okay. Yes. So congratulations. Always reading the usernames over there at Jointhefoot.com. You have won today. Congrats. Let's talk news. News and notes from around the league. Presented by USAA Insurance. I see Al Borland's in the kind of festive clothing that says he's got an air of confidence in his matchup this week. That's not what it says. It just says I look good. I get where you're seeing you look. He's got the, are those palm trees or what's going on? Yeah, we're going to call palm trees. Okay. Starfish? Well.
Other plants. Whatever. They're palm trees. He's got the sunglasses on the hat. Oh, yeah. This guy is either ready for a tea time or a cruise at, like, just the drop of a hat. He knows that the three of us are leaving early today. You know what I mean? Al, go ahead and head over to Twitter. Grab the graphic I have sitting on my Twitter profile. I made a small tweak to the King Adora meme. that I thought we should share maybe on the show. I enjoyed it. As I go through the news, the Jags tied in. Evan Ingram surgery, torn labrum out for the year. So on Wednesday when Coach Peterson said Evan Engram, he's going to miss practice, but I think he's going to play. Maybe he didn't know. Yeah. He meant again someday. But how at that point do they not know? If a guy is, if a guy's shoulder is hurting that bad, that they're like, oh, we should probably go look at this.
The Chiefs have opened up the 21-day window for Hollywood Brown to return to the team just in time for another playoff run. That's, you know, a good time for the Chiefs, not for fantasy. Cedric Tillman, limited, still dealing with a concussion. David Nujoku remained sideline. We've got the report he's not expected to play. We got that late in yesterday's show. And I was worried about this one. Maybe I'm wrong to be worried even now, but Tony Pollard. Once again, not seen and didn't practice on Thursday. That's Wednesday and Thursday D&Ps. Yeah, I mean, I brought it up a little bit when I made him. I started the week yesterday that he missed practice. We need to monitor that because obviously him being healthy is important. Taj Spears, I think, would actually be a pretty good play if he is the only guy. He's not as talented as Tony Pollard, but he is talented in his own right. And if he gets all the work with, you know, fresher legs, that would be interesting.
obviously this isn't ruling him out just because he's missing practice. He's had a lot of workload this year. So just keep monitoring up until game time. Do we have that picture, Al? Did you find the picture for us? No, not yet. Oh, cool. This computer's not logged into Twitter and it won't let me see your most recent post without logging out. I'll send it to you. Yeah, Jake Hainer starting for the Saints. Oh, they heinous because they anus. Start. Any defense against the Saints here on now. Alvin Camara remained sideline on Thursday due to an illness, so you'll monitor that he should be good to go. Malik Neighbors Limited on Thursday. Hip and groin. Hip and groin. That's like a cool bar. Hey, meet me down at the hip and groin. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Drinks are on me at the hip and grind. Breeze Hall did not practice again on Thursday. Cool. Cool.
Cool. Josh Down. Let's just let him go, man. Josh Downs. Jay, what are you doing over here? You are a baffling individual. You're rooting for him to come back. You do nothing but heap just insults and you're angry at Brise Hall. You want him to go away and he has done that. And he's not practicing. You're like, why are you practicing? I want you to play. What do you want from this man? I want him to be great at football. And play. That's what I want. Take a look at this guy. Take a look at this guy up on this. That's the guy that's the guy that's talking about Breece Hall right there. Yeah. Josh Downs upgraded to a full practice, Jason. If he's active, is it Josh Downs in your lineup? He might be. It's not a great matchup, but, you know, desperate times. And a couple of weather updates from yesterday's.
situations here. What do we know? We know Kansas City, Cleveland could have some wind, some showers, Cincinnati, Tennessee, some scattered showers looking fairly likely. What you don't know is that any sort of elements that are outside of the player's control can only benefit Will Levis's accuracy. So Will Levis actually gets better if you, you know. Interesting. Yeah, if the ball's wet, if there's wind, snow. I thought you were going to say after last night. that Team Big Dome may have gotten a few more supporters. Playoff Dome, I'm Team Playoff Dome. Fantasy Playoff Dome. Oh, you mean like when the weather gets bad? Because it's the same time of the calendar every year. Yeah, when it's consequential and not just entertainment. If only we knew when winter happens. We don't have, I mean, Jerry Jones knows, but no one else. Oh, yes, of course. He knows years of it. Are we?
Is Will Levis one of those guys we're going to find out like he's going to have the like James Winston. I finally got LASIC experience. Remember Winston? Yeah. We found out Winston was blind most of his life. Yeah, I don't think so. Yeah, no, this is just. Well, maybe his is not a, a far or where it was near sided. You're near sided when you can't see far. I know what he can't see. He can't see whatever's right in his face. That's what I'm saying. Far sided. Maybe he's far sided. Maybe he's far sided. He needs some readers in the pocket. Also what?
Is that not confusing to anybody else? It's not the best way to do it. I have always. I don't even know and I don't try to remember because I know it doesn't make sense. But then when I try to think through it and the far-sided means you can or cannot see far. It's telling you like, it's giving you the positive part of your vision as the diagnosis, which is not. That's the opposite of all medical diagnosis. If I say I'm far-sided, that means I can see far. For real. Yeah. And if I'm near-sided, I can see close. That's the way you have to remember it.
It is backwards. I will never read it. I mean, I'm trying to think of how that would apply to like another medical situation where you're describing the positive to tell you what the negative is. I don't know what that is. You can be positive for AIDS. Whoa. Whoa. What? Give me that graphic again. What are you doing? They say you're positive. You know what I mean? Like this. What are you doing over here, dude? He says it knowing how incredible it is. Jason's tomato face says, he is like, oh, I shouldn't have done that. Oh, my gosh. Oh, man, this man is living. All right. Quick. Those are inside thoughts, Jason. I work on this with my kids.
Like we all have, we all have impulsive. It's Friday, man. It's late in the season. Like you sometimes ever thought immediately you can't control it. I'm positive. That wasn't the best thing you've ever said. Ken Walker not practicing. Justin Herbert McConkey limited bucks. Mike Evans back at practice. Bucky's still a question mark. Sterling Shepard missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Jaley McMillan, what's up? How you doing? And these are all players that we're going to talk about in the matchups today. So I'm blitzing them real quick. Pickens still sideline with the hamstring, Tray McBride back out there in a limited fashion. Dalton Kikade and Keaulman finally going to return. All right. And DeAndre Swift did not take part in the walkthrough again on Thursday, which means if you really want to hit that nasty button for Travis Homer. Because Rochon Johnson's not practicing either. So don't. Oh, man.
That was today's news and notes presented by USAA Insurance. Learn more at USAA.com slash insurance. Let's take a quick break. Jason can compose his thoughts and we will get into the forecast. All right. We are back and we've got matchups to talk about. It's time for fantasy forecast presented by Draft King Sportsbook. All right. Yesterday. We covered the Chiefs, Browns, Bengals, Titans, Commanders, Saints, Ravens, Giants, Cowboys, Panthers, Jets, Jags, Dolphins, Texas, Colts, Broncos. Seven more matchups today, including Jason, we get that sweet, sweet.
Monday Night Football Double Header this week, which I am a fan. I am a fan of that now, too. I think, you know, before most everyone was just streaming and you had your cable company or whatever, it was not as fun. But when you can just kind of put both up on the screen and swipe to the left or to the right to change your audio, it's pretty fun. It's only good if one of the games stinks. It's like it's a backup option. Here's the thing is in a fantasy playoff week, I think it's even more fun because there's more players.
with scores that are just hanging out there for Monday night, Monday night drama. I don't know, Jason, you and Al should look and see if, what, a couple things. One, you should look and see if you've got anybody in that Monday night double header. And two, you should, one of you guys should share your matchup to the Twitter sphere because I think people have been asking. I mean, my lineup changes every day though, so I can't share it yet. That's true. That's true. It's a full. Now, if you put your lineup on Twitter, will it get flagged? Yeah. Yeah, they'll say this is inappropriate content. Not safe.
for work. He should do one of those random name generators and put in all of his players hit the button and just go with it. I mean, it would be just as good. Okay. Here we go. Buffalo 10 and 3, Detroit 12 and 1. The Draft King Sportsbook line, Detroit minus two and a half at home. The over under is a record for the 2024 season 54 and a half fantasy points. Oh, baby. Rounded up. NFL points, not fantasy points. That's right. But did I say fantasy? You sure did. Yeah, no. I mean, let's hope. Yeah. Let's hope there's a lot more than that. This is crazy. This should be a fun one. We got a great game last week. Detroit's defense is hurting. Buffalo gave up 44 points to the Rams who scored 12 last night. And so let's have some fantasy output in this game. You know, it's.
The question marks for me are like, do we get a bounce back performance from James Cook? That's one of them. A bounce back performance from Alman Ross St. Brown, who it's been a little bit, he's left you wanting lately. And then what do you do with the wide receiver room in a game where you have a high over under where you know the Buffalo is going to score a bunch of points? But then at all of their positions outside of Josh Allen, you really don't know what you're going to get. Yeah, it is tough. I think that the advice is you want players in this game.
Because of the injuries to the Detroit Lions defense, what we saw last week from the Buffalo Bills in that Rams game when they were on the road, it was just this insane output of scoring. You want players in this game. It's tough because Amari Cooper last week 14 targets. That's fantastic. But there wasn't Keon Coleman active. There wasn't Dalton Kincaid active. Now you've got more kind of mouths to feed. And it's a little bit more difficult to say with. you know, emphatic certainty that Amari Cooper is going to be great. I do think Amari Cooper has a good game. The fact that he's been fully integrated now, I would want to play Amari Cooper coming off of 14 targets in the highest overunder of the season against a very injured defense with two awesome offenses. So when I'm looking at this game, I want these ancillary pieces. That's why I picked up Keon Coleman. It's risky. It's a gamble, but you just think...
which game's going to have a ton of touchdowns? And this game certainly is at the top of the list this week. Yeah, you're not going to beat Detroit unless you put points up on the board because they're just such a machine. It's why you can always trust Jamir Gibbs, who's got a DK Russian receiving line in 95 and a half, David Montgomery, Almanraa, and Jameson Williams. Believe it or not, one of the biggest questions this week, because if you're outside of the must-start tight-in category, Dalton Kincaid's returning to the equation this week. And so two of our top five questions on the website in the start sit tool are Hunter Henry or Dalton Kincaid and Pat Fryermuth are Dalton Kincaid, knowing that Pickens is going to be out and Frymute is scored in two straight, Hunter Henry against Arizona. Do either of you have any confidence in Kincaid returning to the lineup with the over under? I actually do have confidence in not playing Kincaid. Nice. Yeah. Okay.
Dalton Kincaid before the injury, 31 yards, 32 yards, 24 yards. That is garbage. His season high is 52. That's just unusable. And keep in mind, like 32 yards, one of those weeks. Came on 10 targets. It hasn't worked. It's been out of sync. I'm not using the playoffs as week one with his first week back from injury to throw him in. On the other side, Leporta, would you play him over both Henry and Fryermeath in a matchup like this? I would, yeah. Okay. Are there other question marks in this game? I mean, put the three wide receivers for Buffalo in order for me. Is it Shakir Cooper Coleman? Is it Coleman Shakir? I would have Shakir at the top. Did we mention his line, his 55? 55. Thank you. His DK receiving lines at 55 and a half. And he's, Kalil Shakir is this weird.
player where the like his name value is still low you know even though like we want pieces of of a josh allen offense he's the wide receiver 28 on the year he's averaging more than 10 points a week he's not a every single week you're expecting humongous things but he has been really solid for for that archetype of a and that tier of a player. So he's at the top for me. Yeah, I would have Amari Cooper just from the utilization, the fact that he's more downfield, gets air yards. In a game like this, I would go Cooper, Shakir Coleman. But Shakir's got a pretty high floor. There is a chance that if Cooper does have another big game in this one, that you're talking about somebody. A league winner. Yeah, you're now really, which he was last year. So you'd be really confident moving forward if he performs in this one.
You know, Alan, amazing week last week. And then Jared Gough, is he streamable this week? Is he somebody that you would, you know, when you talk about that pivot, if Cooper Cup disappointed, you would golf be somebody that you'd take the shot? You know, it was a few weeks ago that he had the five touchdown performance, right? Yeah, four. Four touchdowns, yeah. He was the number one quarterback. Yeah, three last week. He's been throwing some touchdowns, and this is the type of game. He has at home in a dome. Six straight games in a dome. Third straight game at home. The thing about the Lions is you know they will score at minimum. No one knows anything, but you feel like I don't want to be confident about like overconfident about it. But like if the Lions don't score three touchdowns in this game, I'd be very surprised.
Like, as their floor. Yeah, I imagine they will score four touchdowns at least. Right. And if that's the case, you know David and Montgomery gets one and Jemir Gibbs gets one. That's like law. But Gibbs could be passing. Right. Sometimes he gets his one in the passing game. Yeah. So. But the, the higher level point being, Jason is talking about four touchdowns. Like, you, you gotta have, you want to have a piece of an. option like that. Yeah, and Jameson Williams is always one big play away. Same with Lipporteur. Pittsburgh's 10 and three, they go to Philly. Update here on Jeremy and I's matchup. Oh, yeah, yeah. So I have no one on Monday night as of this moment. And he has. And on your roster, but go on. Correct. He has two guys named Bijon Robinson and Justin Jefferson. That's a lot of points. So I'm going to need to be up by 50.
