A little strange. This is a kind of an imprompt to experiment for the fantasy footballers podcast, the inaugural initial. We're just going to hit the ground running. Who knows? That's what I think. So my name is Mike. I'm Andy. And we love fantasy football. And we've decided that people should hear what we have to say about fantasy football.

The division, the people were put in charge of divisions. There was, they picked, you know, a smaller group of people compared to the team correspondence. And one of the guys just sent on an email and said, hey, I think we should do a league. And we got 12 guys going. And so we jumped in that. Yeah, this is a league of fantasy.

Experience fantasy players? I would imagine so if you're writing about fantasy. We'll walk through here. We're drafting number five in a 12-team league. Standard scoring. Three wide receivers? Three-wide receivers? No flex. That's only, that's different. I haven't played a lot of three-wide receivers. I haven't either. I like my format of 2-2 flex. A couple of our dynasty teams. I think we did three, like the first year. So three-wide receivers is a little different. You have to put a priority.

on them a little earlier. And the draft is beginning in 10 seconds. So I know we don't even really know what we're going to talk about because we threw this together so last minute that it's beeping at me and you probably can hear it. There you go. The draft is live. So I guess we'll just run down who's getting selected, who we want to select why. Who's your number one? My number one is Shady McCoy. Yeah, he's my number one too.

I think just him another year in that Chip Kelly offense. So why him, if you had to say real quick, him versus Charles? And first off the board is Shady. Shady McCoy. My, I was, the reason I'd go with Shady is just much better offense, much, much better offense. The Kansas City line got decimated. Who went? Oh, I think Forte went.

Pull up the, yeah. How do we get the draft results? There we go. Yep, Matt Forte went number two. That's a surprise pick. Yeah, over Charles. Maybe thinking the same thing. So, and I'm looking at Charles's numbers versus Charles went number three here. And Adrian Peterson went number four. So we are on the clock. And are we in a consensus that Eddie Lacey is our pick.

Yeah, yeah. I mean, even though it's a three-wide receiver league, I think Calvin Johnson can be tempting right here, but Eddie Lacey looks like he has all the tools, and he is in the offense to produce. So I think he is the pick. Finally. I'm in not too many leagues, but I've wanted Lacey on all my teams, and this is the first time I finally get him. Calvin went number six? So I think, so on the way back, what are you looking for? Because of three-wide receiver, do you want to grab a wide receiver?

Yeah, I always let the draft board talk to me in terms of, you know, I don't want to lock myself into a position no matter what scoring system I'm in because I want the value to be there for what, you know, I don't want to pass on a guy if there's another great running back on the way back. Yeah, I would absolutely agree with that. But, yeah, I think we do need to pay mind to the fact that this is a three-wide receiver league and, you know, getting a consistent.

high performance wide receiver. It seems like that's what's going to be on the board for us. So we'll have to see. Maybe somebody in the brand of Marshall range, maybe Julio Jones. Marshall Lynch just went seven. That's the highest I've seen him going a lot of leagues. That is really high for this year. People are pretty down on him for the reason of being older. I'm not. I'm down on him. Andy is not. Andy still likes him a lot. That's right. I buy in totally with the

the workload of just Solman carries. You saw this offseason already. I mean, if we had been talking about this a few weeks ago, it was a Christian Michael problem, right? Christine Michael. And all of a sudden, Christian Michael's not even going to play. I know. And even if he was, he's three on the depth chart. So I think people want the next big thing. And so when a guy's older at running back, it's easy to buy into the next big thing. You could push him out with Gore with. Gore was the same way. Michael Turner, we did that.

A lot. So let's go through a few of these picks here. After Lynch went Monte Ball, then a couple wide receivers right off the board, three in a row, Demarius Thomas, Des Bryant, A.J. Green, and then Jimmy Graham. Wow, Jimmy Graham at 12. That's, I think that's good. I don't necessarily agree with the people who are taking him 7, 8. I wouldn't do it. What about him above those wide receivers there, though? Oh.

The Des Des Demarius and AJ Green. You don't take him ahead of them? No way. Absolutely not. Especially Dese and Demarius. AJ, I might think about it. Julio Jones, absolutely not. I'm not taking Jimmy Graham before Julio Jones. I think Julio Jones is back. I think he is healthy. And I think he is going to be a beast. And surprise. That seems like a high selection there. Andre Ellington at number 16 overall? Yeah.

I like that for our team. Early second round. Because that means somebody else is getting pushed down. And Doug Martin follows that up at 17. I'm with you on Julio. It's scary when a guy has a re-injury problem. But all indications in camp is he's full bore. So Julio is up and coming. He's exciting. He's fun. So we are up in three picks. Now, depending on who this is, we might be looking at Brandon Marshall or Jordy Nelson, which I think is excellent. So if we had this.

Debate the merits of those two guys real quick. Okay. Brandon Marshall, 100 plus catches every year he's been with. Target Monster. Yeah, every year he's been with. Yeah, and Peyton Manning went off the board, so we're going to be picking from one of those two wide receivers if we want. Or we get the one that's left. Yeah, or the one that's left. Yeah, I mean, Target Monster with Cutler. I believe I love to. I read this morning, it was referred to as a bromance between those two. Oh, and it's all the way back to Denver. And always 100 plus catches with him.

He's also, the big difference I see between him and Jordy Nelson is health. Brandon Marshall plays every single game, every single year. At least he has for the most part. And Jordan Nelson's got, wait, so who just went? Alfred Morris went, so we're staring down. If we want, we've got Brandon Marshall and Jordy Nelson. We also got Antonio Brown on the board. Poor guy. This is not a PPR. No. For me, I think Brandon Marshall is the safer pick.

And Brandon Marshall is not only the safer pick. I think he is the – I guess Jordy has the upside to pass him. But as we'll talk about a little later, I am extremely high on the Bears. I am extremely high on Jay Cutler. I honestly think – and there goes Jordy right after us. I honestly think Jay Cutler has the potential. He gets hurt a lot, but he's a top five. And I think the Bears are a –

a realistic shot at being the number one offense in the league. I think Denver's going to... Second year under... I think Denver will slow it down a little bit just on purpose for... Not concerned with the records for Peyton. Right. Well, yeah, they got all the records last year. Or just for the sake of saving him a little bit, too. Well, and that style of play did not... That did not work in the Super Bowl very well. True. Aaron Rogers is off the board at 22, following his wide receiver, Jordy Nelson. So...

The Super Bowl, I mean, that aired out against that top defense of Seattle, just it did not work. So I think they're going to try in ball control. Indeed, they spent a lot of money on free agents for defense. DeMarcus Ware coming in. Yeah, that was, what a pickup. I mean, seriously, Dallas, what are you doing? I don't know. He's looked great in the preseason, too. He's a keep to lead is there too. Yeah. That, to me, is a little bit of a wash because you traded out DRC for him.

and they're both kind of head cases. Yeah, I like to leave a little bit more. But, yeah, I think, I don't know if their offense is going to slow down too much. I still have Peyton being the top quarterback this year in fantasy. I think he'll be threatened, but I still think he's probably going to be number one with those weapons. I would agree, it's the likely thing, but at the same time, it would not surprise me at all if he's not even in the top three. This year, for some reason, that's that weird.

That gut, sometimes you have to look at the numbers, sometimes you have to listen to the gut, and my gut is saying he won't be a top three. I think if Welker has a problem and he does end up getting concussed a couple more times and goes down again, it could change their offense a little bit. Okay, so we are up in two picks, and we top running backs on the board are Zach Stacey, Toby Gerhardt, Ryan Matthews. Levion Bell is there. You also got Julius Thomas to consider here.

It's a little early. It's a little early. But I'm just saying if I'm looking best available, Roddy White, I don't want Roddy White. Cobb, Allen, Thomas, Cruz. So just to read off since Aaron Rogers went, at 23 was Alshon Jeffrey, then Drew Breeze went, Arian Foster, Antonio Brown, Zach Stacey, and Toby Gerhard just went. And we are up. So what are you? We are on the clock. Well, I'm looking here and I'm seeing.

Running back options of Levyon Bell, Ryan Matthews, Rashad Jennings. I don't really like the value of running back here. I mean, unless you're into Leveon Bell, which I'm hesitant. He's the only name that I consider here. I'm still, I still like Leveon Bell, but, and I'm not, I would not be mad because three wide receivers, I would still like a Randall pick right here. I like Cobb more than Keenan Allen right now.

Yeah, I like Cobb. Better offense, better consistency. I think the pick, honestly, to me, it's between Randall Cobb and Julius Thomas. I think Julius Thomas is going to threaten for, I mean, he's not going to beat Jimmy Graham, but he's a difference-making tied in in a 12-te-in in a 12-team league. Do you want to go Thomas right here or go Cobb and gamble that Gronk falls to us? We have 20 seconds. Yeah, let's go Randall Cobb. Let's go Randall-Cob. Three-R-R-R-Cover, Lee. Let's lock him up.

And the news came out today. There was good news on Grunk. He will play. He's playing. He's going to be limited, but... Oh, isn't that scary that he's going out on the field? But the good news for those people worried about, oh, he's going to be limited. He was limited when he came back last year. And still produced. And all he has to do is be on the field, and he's going to score touchdowns. Yeah, absolutely. Maybe his yardage will be down because he's not in all the time.

But the guy averages one touchdown per game. And if your floor as a tight end, I understand he's an elite tight end, you take him very high, but his floor is seven, eight points. So you're talking about picking him up in the fourth then? As a potential, yeah. It was a, let's make a really fast strategy because we have 30 seconds to pick a guy. That's right. Well, it's good to talk through those things because you have to make, you know, that'd be one of the things I think is a general.
