Fantasy Football Podcast for Week 4/5

Oh, man, Brian quit. Are you talking about the guy from the Thundercats? Right. Snarf! Oh, yeah, your turn. Keenan, Keenan. Oh, yeah, my wide receiver. I wanted to start him. But you stole my start. My start of the week is Keenan Allen. Not that you weren't going to start him, but he started so poorly, and then he came out last week. Snart. Snart. Snart. Snart. He's a good snart.

So Keenan Allen's noteworthy. So the Jets, we all know the Jets are just, they're really nasty up front. No one can run. And here comes Donald Brown. Oh man, can you imagine Donald Brown one yard per carry. He's going to find a way to run for less. I know that. There was a breaking news blurb this morning from Donald Brown. From Donald himself? This was the Donald Brown. Donald Brown, he came out and he admitted he needs to start running better.

Is this a career arc or a, yeah. He got paid after that, man. The pizza boy could carry. If I could snart somebody different, I would snart somebody other than Donald Brown. So my point is Keenan Allen and Philip Rivers are going to. Oh, yeah, they're going to have a fantasy feast. Fantasy feast. Some streaming defenses, some starts this week that you like on the defensive side.

I really like the Chargers. They're probably picked up in your league. They've been really good this year. Consistent. And if there was a smart owner because they saw the string of really good games for the Chargers. But my other sneaky play would be the Green Bay Packers, especially if Teddy Bridgewater can't come in. Christian Ponder is back in the backfield. Yeah. No, that's a sneaky play. I like that.

I'm staying with Pittsburgh. If Pittsburgh is available, you want to play them against Jacksonville this week. I also like what I saw from the 49ers defense last week. They just seemed infinitely more disciplined than they've been. We know that they can be a top-tier defense. They're at home this week. And even though it's the Chiefs, you just had that kind of offensive onslaught on New England, I really like San Francisco's defense this week. There's always that emotional...

They're on a short week. You're riding really, really high. They still don't have any wide receivers. No. They just ran it down. Big boy Kelsey is coming. We've talked about him, I think, weekly. And I think that might have been the week. So if you didn't buy, if you did not buy him, you're the price. Go get him now. The price is going to keep going on. If they're not listening to us, they might trade him to you. Who's not listening to us? That's a good point. If you're not listening, you better snart.

Fantasy Forecast. All right, let's move on and answer some questions that people have sent in. All right. Our buddy Frank. There you go. Our buddy Frank is asking, should I trade Reggie Wayne for Michael Crabtree? The foot. Man. That is a really difficult decision to make for me. Is that difficult for you? It's really hard for me, too. To me, what I think I will say is no.

And I'm going to say that on the basis of the quarterback play. And so I'm going to stay with Reggie Wayne if, you know, Crabtree has all this upside, but he's also got, he's been banged up, and I just don't like it. But Crabtree had a good week and was one start of the week, Kaepernick terrible throw away from a touchdown. He ran a quick slant, and it was wide open and Kaepernick missed him.

So for you, are you in the same boat? For Frank should hang on to Reggie. I'm gambling on Crabtree. You're gambling? Yeah. Well, that's not helpful. So do whatever you want to do. Well, you've got to pick your favorite analyst, and you side with him. Here's a question coming in from Steve. He says, throw in the towel on Torrey Smith and pick up either Eddie Royal, Andrew Hawkins, or Golden Tate.

My boy, Golden Tate, finally showed up last week. Your towel has been thrown on Tori Smith. Oh, we're not even going to talk about Tori Smith. And Tori Smith finally... So if you had to pick, maybe the better thing to answer there is Eddie Royal, Andrew Hawkins or Golden Tate. Golden Tate. Yeah, me too. I would go Tate Hawkins Royal, actually, in that order. I would go Tate Royal Hawkins. Okay.

But Tate, Tate, absolutely. I mean, he had a great game. He didn't score, but the... Well, the injury to Calvin mixed with the quarterback play, I think, is why you go Tate there. Yeah, absolutely. What else we got? Bobby, Bobby Jr. has asked us, do I trade Jerich McKinn for Big Boy, Travis Kelsey? That's an interesting trade. You've got two guys that you're completely betting on unknown in a sense.

This is a complete, this is depending on your team. I mean, you can't, if you're a team that has strong wide receiver play and you need a tight end, I don't have any problem with this trade. I love Travis Kelsey. I love him as an up-and-coming tight-in, and I love him as a pass catcher in Kansas City. But if you're a team that needs a spark at running back, I wouldn't ship McKinnon out before he explodes. I think McKinnon's, what would you do here? I think Kelsey's the safer guy. So I would make...

The trade. I would make the trade. You would do it. I agree. It depends on my team. Let's say if McKinnon is my third running back, I'm not making the trade. But Kelsey is, he's coming. And McKinnon is still unknown. I think he is ascending. But I think he's ascending while Travis Kelsey, I think, is here. He's here for fantasy relevance. Yeah.

Greg Olson, this comes from Dennis, Greg Olson or Delaney Walker this week. Oh man, Greg Olson has been great all year except for last week, and Delaney Walker has been very good all year. Let's see, what are the matchups? Who are the Titans playing? The Browns. This is a tough one. That is a very difficult question. I'm going to lean Walker. Okay.

Yeah, I think that I'm going to lean Olson. And that's just based on consistency this year and the situation at quarterback right now in Tennessee. What else do we have here? Do you have any more questions? Yeah, so let's do a time check real quick. Oh, okay, we got time for one more question. One more question. And let's go to the defense question. This one's coming in. It says, is it time?

to drop the Carolina D. Is it time to drop the Carolina defense? Yes. Yes, it is time to drop the Carolina defense. If you're in a... This is what we're talking about from last week. It's really nice to pick up that quote-unquote great defense in the back half of the draft.

Unless it means you start them every week against your better judgment because you drafted them. Carolina's defense has not performed. Their offense is not putting them in a good position to perform. And if you are still running them out week after week, you are making a mistake. Oh. They have been a complete dumpster fire. If you're in one of those vicious leagues like we are, Carolina has actually scored negative points back-to-back weeks. Yes.

That is pretty bad. And I'm no mathematician. You're not? There's one thing worse, but getting a zero. And that's a negative number. That's right.
