Fantasy Football Podcast for Week 4/5

Don't get me wrong, Calvin Johnson is Calvin Johnson in the fantasy world. But in the past couple of years, we've had these little injuries where they're willing to use him as a decoy. Yeah. Like this past week. And so, yeah, Antonio Brown is consistent in terms of health, and he's consistent in terms of production. He's sneaky good. Yeah, he doesn't get big wide receiver credit. No, he does not. Because he's not a big wide receiver. Yeah. He's like Steve Smith. His play style fits so perfectly with.

Big Ben's ability to keep a play alive, his ability and willingness to keep a play alive. Yeah. And so Brown's going to get open. That's just what he will do. And I mean... Well, and he's first and second, third read for Big Ben right now, too. You can't imagine the touchdowns are going to keep up, but they are very nice while they are coming in. I think he's on pace for 20 right now. Yeah. But still, that offense is able to move the ball.

and Antonio Brown is continuing to... I think the newly trimmed up Levi-on-Bel, the Leviathan. Leviathan Brown... Wait, is that you? Did you give him that name? I just did. Can we get that going? Hashtag Leviathan. He hit the run game, I think, is really helping Brown to be even more than he was last year. Absolutely.

And then Andrew Luck, DeMarco Murray, they continued on their ascent. They're both number one right now. Oh, man, he is a vulture of just picking on the week. Team-wise? Yeah. Oh, yeah. They just are a pass. I think they've just kind of finally said, oh, Andrew Luck's our best player. Which is what we've been waiting for of last year. Right. Why are we not unleashing Andrew Luck on the world? Yep. And they are.

And he is just running it up. What I like about him is he's kind of like Breeze and the fact that, you know, the Colts, they're two and two. They can have a bad game, a bad half, a bad three quarters, and Andrew Luck can still give you a fantasy performance in those last three or four drives. Right. He's got that comeback gene in him. And you've seen that so far this year, especially early when they were, I think they played Denver. He also has the Buffalo Bill voice jean.

Yeah, more attractive on the field than off. Let's go to everyone's favorite segment. Pooped in his big boy pants. Oh, yes. Oh, let's introduce this one again, huh? It was really, really short, so you may have missed it, but just a report that Shady's dealing with turf toe. And then it got downgrade, oh, it's just minor turf toe to, oh, there's nothing wrong. And, I mean, after these weeks. This is not what fantasy owners paid for. No. Shady McCoy, his entire game, is quickness and agility. So you think you see something that lends you to, these performances back-to-back, you don't think it's all offensive line?

You think a little bit? I'm very conflicted because the line is so bad. Lane P.E.D. Johnson's going to be back this week. It helps. I don't know if it fixes everything. You know what it was concerning for me in that regard was late in that 49er game. Having drives or series with him off the field and sprawls in the back field. And that's what I'm saying. Is something going on with the toe?

Yeah, I mean, just whether he's healthy and Sproles is getting a rotation, that's just worrisome, I guess. So if it's you right now, because this is what matters, is there's a fantasy owner out there that has LaShaul McCoy on the roster. You holding course? Because you're not going to get value for him the way you would. I mean, maybe now you'll get more than you would, but. I might sell for 90 cents.

on the dollar. Okay. But that's about as low- Because of the signals that are out there right now, the warning signs. So if people are, some of the trades that were posted are just awful trades. I'm blanking now what they were. People looking to get shady, trying to pick up shady? But trades that actually happened. Oh, okay. And just awful, awful trades of people giving them away for free. He could be hurt and be garbage the rest of the year, but you still can't trade him for dirt. For nothing, yeah. But he's worrisome. Those two wide receivers in Washington did not perform this week. In my really important league, I watched as I started, Captain Kirk Cousins versus the newly picked up Eli Manning, and I got to watch that happen to me, where I lost my whole fantasy week on Thursday night, and that is just soul-crushing. You were absolutely in love with Kurt Cousins, and that must have just been heartbreaking. Yeah, in the... And as far as I'm not...

I have not completely bailed off him. I think he'll still have good games. But he, it was coming out that he stares down his receivers. He just looks slustered. It snowballed. Thinking back on it was the sack fumble at the right at the beginning of the game. And I think he does not have the...

I guess mental toughness, if you want to call it something else, but whatever. As soon as he gets rattled, he's done. Well, right now, that's definitely the kid. And it was, I wouldn't, you know, the primetime game. Yeah, there's that too. You know, the focus is on him. I think the one person who was really happy with performance was Robert Griffin III. Because all the talk can just simmer down now, because I think RG3 is probably coming back.

Not that he'll perform, but he'll probably be coming back. They just invested too much in him. And so Kirk Cousins is on the bus list this week. Not that he's got big boy pants to poop yet, but some other guys, here's another one. Toddler pants. Oh, my goodness. Tom Brady. Oh, man. Dude, is Tom Brady, let me ask you this legitimately. Is Tom Brady hitting the waiver wire in leagues today? Oh, yeah, absolutely, he is.

I mean, there's... This is not what I expected from that offense, because they always find a way, and right now they are not finding away. And I will go at this moment, tut-toot, because this is really what I... Well, it is what you talked about. I expected this from Tom Brady. It just, they're offense... How much of it is Tom Brady? They would start over at him. Yeah, I think right now, if you have another guy, you've got to put him out there. Whether it's the Andy Dalton's, what about Joe Flacco? Absolutely, I'd rather play Joe Flacko. Carson Palmer.

If he ever plays, oh. If he ever plays again. I mean, that's a whole different story, because I'm very high on Palmer, if he would. If he played. That offense. If he ever came back. Absolutely. That's a prerequisite for your fantasy league, in my opinion. Yes. If you know about fantasy pros and your team does not, you have a great advantage. Your league, you're saying, if you're league is. Yeah. I mean, they take just countless experts. Yep. So it's not just you're buying one person's opinion. You're getting an average and a consensus pick. Yeah, you're not going to fly off the rails and you're not.

You're not going on your own. You're taking a look at what the consensus rankings are for experts all over the country. And they'll tell you who you should pick up on your waiver wire. Yeah, that's what we're looking at right now. The system is very integrated with your league once you import. Absolutely. But however, so we took their waiver wire list, their hot commodity list. Yep.

And so we'll just grab a couple names off of it. But number one on the board. Big exciting name at number one. Yeah, he might be the only significant waiver wire name this week. It's a little thin. Yeah, it's thin. But Jerrick McKinnon. Yeah, he showed up. Adrian Peterson's replacement, right? He's the same? Maybe. Isn't he the exact same? Oh. But the, what I have held on to when I've... You're pretty tied into Minnesota, too, right? So you know McKinnon.

A little more than most. Well, he's just, his athletic freakishness is really off the charts. I read something that him and Calvin are the two highest scores ever when they do the athletic metric. Right. They have the two highest in terms of just pure athletic freak talent. And so I've, I held with, I agreed with the people who were saying that if you needed running back right now, grab.

Ozziata. If you have a stash spot, you take McKinnon. And the reason I believe that is, well, I mean, they drafted him. He's a freakish athletic talent. But if Minnesota is legitimately planning to move forward, like these new reports. Without Adrian Peterson. Which I'm still not completely buying those reports. Right. But if they are, why would they keep playing Oziada? He is who he is.

Right, right. And he's a plotter, right? Right. I mean, he... Is this a G.O. Bernard Ben Jarvis Greenell's situation from last year? Or could it become that? Yeah, I guess that. Is that best case scenario for McKinnon? What's best case scenario from McKinnon? Is he every down? No. Okay. No, best case, though, is 50-50, I think. Well, that's about what we saw this past week, I think.

Was it when they broke it down? I think it was about 58-42. But, I mean, they had a lead and they were running the ball. I mean, Teddy Bridgewater changed that offense a little bit. So I don't think they'll give it to them completely, but there's no reason in Minnesota for you not to see what you have in McKinnon. And now I will say this, and this is my little Adrian Peterson piece of the show. Sure. The worst thing that can happen to McKinnon and Oziada is the Vikings winning.

Because they'll be incentivized to bring Adrian Peterson back? For all Peterson owners, don't drop him or, I mean, maybe if you trade him and you can get something, but don't drop him until he has his case, whatever it is, it's coming up on October 8th. So we should have more news by then. Timeline-wise. Yeah. But let's say he plea deals or something. He gets six games at the most from the NFL, and the Vikings are winning. Adrian Peterson's coming back. Yeah.

I mean, as a franchise, you have to do that. But losing, then you don't bring it back. Well, because he's got a huge cap number next year, too. Yeah. So if he's mired, if they're losing, they're rebuilding, they're mired in this legal battle, they might move on sooner other than later. Right. Because he's not coming back for that cap number no matter what, I don't think. Maybe. Yeah. Stay tuned. But right now, Jerich McKinnon.
