Fantasy Football 2018 - Tier Jumps, Dynasty Keep/Trade/Cut, Jason Moorisms

Joy was spread throughout the nation. Equal trade for all. To be fair. A handshake with you is somewhat near a single cheeseburger. Yeah. In value. To be fair, I still paid for my burgers. Okay. All right. It also got money. Hashtag life goals. All right. Eventually, burgers will be free. And we'll be talking about a different kind of volume at that point. Okay. And we'll have a few more good years left.

All right, the NFL announced a salary cap has been increased. But, but, indeed. Oh, the voice of public opinion's been a while. I have not heard you in quite some time. Well, I've been busy because I'm not watching football. Aren't the ratings down and football's hurting? Well, salary caps up $10.2 million. Oh, and that's based on their revenue. Yeah, $177.2 million. Every year of late, this has been happening.

We've seen more than a pretty significant increase, more than $10 million, I think, for something like six straight years. And so this does have implications on some of the decisions that teams are facing. Mike, you brought up the fact that, you know, it had now been rumored. Hey, maybe Jordan Nelson and Randall Cobb. Green Bay Packers, beat reporters talking about it. It's now theoretically possible that they can just hold on to both of them for this year. So it gives teams flexibility, opportunity.

And, well, the bills, they use some of that cap room to sign Chris Ivory to a two-year $5.5 million contract. That's a great signing. I love it for both. Mike Tolbert was never a quality backup there. I think Chris Ivory is a valuable handcuffed now. In their defense, they weren't trying to use Tolbert as the backup. Sure. It was Tolbert and Travarez Cadet before Cadet went down. And then it was just, you're stuck with Tolbert. That's a fair point.

The Rams will not assign the franchise tag to Sammy Watkins. Just say they did not assign. We are past that. They did not assign the franchise tag to Sammy Watkins. Got to stay current. So now he's an unrestricted free agent. Yeah, the thoughts out there are that the Los Angeles Rams are still going to go hard after Sammy. Some of the moves they've made recently getting rid of forthcoming expensive assets on the defensive side.

Might be because they want to, you know, make a strong offer for Watkins. But Watkins most certainly will test the open market. And, you know, look, highest bidder's probably going to win the services of Sammy. Yeah, it's strange. I mean, obviously they wanted to tag Lamarcus Joyner. But. Well, and I just think it's a matter of you can't pay Sammy Watkins tag money. No. And he's going to be looking for that out on the free market. But what is, what is he done to?

to say, okay, we're comfortable giving you top five money. He's great. He's 24 years old. He's 24 years old. Look, that's what's going to get him paid, but you're right about that. And that's what they're evaluating. What's the value there? I mean, he did not catch a ton of passes. He was a valuable red zone guy. I think this is one half of the free agent equation for me. He needs, now that he's not tagged, it's time to move on. I think he's going elsewhere. Brent Salix coming back for the Eagles. That's...

Not important. He's a blocking tight in. Michael Bennett acquired by the Eagles. It's important because the Eagles just keep bringing guys in and keeping guys and staying strong and it's obnoxious. Yeah, tell that to Tray Boo Boo. Yeah, he's going to leave. Trey Burton. Michael Bennett on the way into Philadelphia. The Seahawks have traded him.

For a fifth round pick and Marcus Johnson, wide receiver from the Eagles. Man, it's a good time. Congratulations. It is a good time to be an Eagles fan right now. There was a time, I mean, not in the distant past where acquiring a bunch of superstars didn't pan out exactly for the Eagles. Do you recall this was very recent? Yes. Namdi Asimwa and Vince Young and the guarantee. So if games were played on paper, we could just.

The Vikings could just sign Cousins and then we can award them the trophy because they would just say, you know, we got to the championship game and then now we added Kirk Cousins. Yeah, well, the Eagles won the Super Bowl. And now they're adding elite defenders. And getting back their star quarterback back who is injured and how hard is it to get back? How hard is it to even be competitive? I'm not saying they won't be. I'm not saying this is a bad signing. I'm just saying it's very hard in the NFL to do that.

Richard Sherman. He's told his teammates goodbye over the last 24 hours. You know, again, defensive player, but he may be heading out the door. Very bizarre. Kenny Britt, the Patriots exercised the 2018 option on Kenny Britt. That just makes him maybe a dynasty staff. There's very little risk for the Patriots. There's still no guarantee that Kenny Britt will be on the team. Patriots released Martellus Bennett. There you go. And then the Jags. They believe they're not.

Well, they did not franchise tag Alan Robinson. So suddenly Sammy Watkins, Alan Robinson, two huge names, two fantasy relevant names available. Which ironically could hurt Jarvis Landry's ability to find, yeah, to find that trade partner. Yeah, because there has been talk about, I mean, the bears come up in every discussion about why the Niners come up. The ravens come up in conversation. Yeah. What else? Anything else? Well, there's whispers from the bushes being reported by Adam Schaefter that.

The lion's tight end Eric Ebron, his name was floating around during the combine that he could be available for trade. But that remains to be seen. Dion Lewis. If you want him, pass him the ball. Fair point. That's all I'm saying. As an Eric Ebron Truther. But will he catch it. Yes. Yes. He will. Sometimes. Multiple sources reporting that Dionne Lewis remaining a Patriot seems like a long shot. Yep. So.

They can be really good for fantasy when they get the opportunity, but is it actually theirs? I don't think Jamal Williams has established that role, especially with Ty Montgomery there, Aaron Jones there, and Somaget Pirine. Mike, I know you suggested not sleeping on the Washington Offensive Line and the Washington run game for 2018. That's a fair point. I would, I would.

trade Jamal Williams, cut P. Rine and keep Alex Collins. Yeah, I would keep P. Rine's my keep. Jamal's my trade. I'd cut Alex Collins. Collins has, by my estimation, while he had a good year, I don't think he factors in the same way that the other players do to their respective teams and depth charts and the pedigree aspect. And so I would go with Pyrine.

in this situation, Mike, I'm curious. By the way, we're playing Keep Trade Cut. We are playing a game here. We're not saying, go cut Alex Collins. If you're in a Dynasty League, he's on your roster. We're not cutting anybody. But in this game, you get a choice. You have to keep one, trade one, cut one. I'm keeping P. Ryan. Mike? Man, I think we're all going to have different takes here. I am going to, no, because I'm keeping P. Ryan.

here. So we do not have different takes. Did you say, who was your trade? I traded Jamal Williams. I think Jamal Williams is the right trade because there are always in every league, pro tip, there is a giant Packers fan in every single league that I've ever played in. And they will pay up too much for a guy like Jamal Williams. Well, I think Jamal Williams will eventually be moved to the back of the line. Right now, they will just keep cutting in front of him.
