Julius Thomas, we kind of cheated there a little bit. But we're trying to take guys who we think are on the outside and could be on the inside. It's so nice. All right, for me, quarterback. This week I got Carson Palmer. He's playing the Raiders. And I'm going with two. Derek Carr, against the Cardinals. Now, what's funny, and I imagine this is for...

128 passagesFor other people as well, but I'm an Arizona guy. I love the Cardinals. I watch every snap. And our defense is banged up. Despite what happened when Cousins imploded, we give up huge plays. So that's back-to-back weeks where we've had huge plays. Andre Holmes, it will not shock me if Andre Holmes gets a big one this week.
And we don't have a pass for us. The only way Arizona can rush the passers by sending five or six guys. And when that happens, as long as the quarterback is competent, he's going to find the open person. But it's funny seeing where I was watching the NFL Network and they're talking, man, we're going to like that Arizona defense. I'm like, did you guys watch the game? I don't think you did. Because they sucked for three quarters of the game. They did come back to close it. Yeah, they did.
They did close it down, but I think that had a little more to do with Kirk Cousins and Washington than it did the defense. But I'm playing either of those guys. Again, play Derek Cart at your own wrist, because that is stepping out on the ledge even for me. Right. But I have a strange feeling that there's going to be some fantasy points scored in that matchup. Running back, I'm taking Pierre Thomas. Pierre Thomas.
Against the Lions. I don't think you can run on the Lions. They're going to have to rely on Drew Breeze, and they're going to have to check it down. So I'm looking for eight plus catches from Thomas this week. And this would be big, especially if you're in a PPR league. Absolutely. And I think it's that way. Even the Ingram's coming back, allegedly this week. I think that, I don't know, I think Thomas is going to have a big game. My wide receiver, I'm taking Kelvin.
Kelvin Benjamin. He's playing against the Saints, who I just talked about. I believe with, with, excuse me, Cam Newton coming back to his full strength. That makes things so much better for his, and much easier for his wide receivers. I agree. The only downside is Cam Newton. The only person that Cam Newton loves.
More than Kelvin Benjamin is Cam Newton. When he gets in the five, he loves to call his own number. Oh, of course. So he can do his Superman mood. Yeah, I was about to say. I like when he does it. And if I was him, I would do it too. But with Cam Newton's success last week being able to run it, this is going to open up the passing game more anyway, since defenses are going to be forced to do a QB contain on him.
I mean, there is the hope for that as well. Yeah, and that's what I believe. And Benjamin's huge red zone, end zone guy. I am going to, my tight end, he's back. I'm taking Jordan Reed. As long as he is still healthy, he's another guy who gets hurt when he takes a nap. Yeah. They're playing, Washington's playing the Titans this week. And we weren't sure, because Niles Paul has been playing well, how much.
how much action would Jordan Reed actually get? Now, he was eased in. He didn't play an incredible amount of snaps, but he led the team in targets. Kirk Cousins is still the quarterback. What is this Colt McCoy nonsense? Are you kidding me? Just make the mess here. I understand that Cousins is not winning. But really, Colt McCoy, this is your plan?
This is ridiculous. The Redskins. Cousins throws to his tight end a lot, and George Reed is a very talented pass-catching tight end. So I'm taking him for defensive streamers. I like the Bontra. Who are the Jaguars playing? That's, yeah. It's going to work again as the Browns. The Browns are decent. They have a good, they have a decent defense.
And I'm also going to take the bills against the Vikings. So in your best Andy impersonation, give his reads or his starts and I'll talk a little bit about him. I should have worked better to make a better caricature voice at him, but I've got like zero. I'm going to choose for quarterback Kirk Cousins who's playing against the Titans. That sounds like...
Conan O'Brien's little boy boy. Oh, gee, Ma. Like a lollipop. But what's funnier is that is a spot-on impression of Andy. I know, is it weird? Like zero time or effort. So I don't disagree with the Kirk Cousins thing. The Titans minus week one. They haven't had a great secondary defense at all. They don't rush pass her enough, or they can't get to them enough better to say.
And the fact that it was as close as it was against Jacksonville, I think Kirk Cousins is going to have a great day against Titans. Yes, I would completely agree with this pick for a streamer. Yeah. Cousins, I mean, yeah, he's turning the ball over. He's also putting up huge fantasy numbers. Yeah. So, fantasy people, like, pay attention. Kurt Cousins is, he is scoring a lot of points. Well, he reminds me of Romo of last year.
Yeah, you're still putting up points. You're still throwing like two to three interceptions, but you're still putting up points. And those interceptions suck because you're like, man, I could have had six more points. But he's still putting up great numbers. Who's your running back, Andy? My running back would be Fred Jackson versus the Minnesota Vikings. This one, I don't necessarily disagree with at all.
It's Vikings line. That's basically it. Like, you're going to be able to get through it. The Vikings, they are a mess right now. Their defense is actually not terrible, but their offense is not been doing very well. Well, that you can see almost every game at the point where the defense is just realizing we're not playing for anything anymore. Right. But I'm saying where...
The offense is so bad that it puts the defense in a terrible position. And Fred Jackson, he's the man in Buffalo. Yeah. He's, I think, in our league format, he's in a top 10 running back. I believe so. He's the third down guy. He scores the touchdowns. And so I think that's a, that's a good safe pick. I agree. I'm not a Buffalo fan, but it's. I would absolutely agree with it. I'm a Minnesota's my second team. Right.
They have hurt me. Hurt me deep. So, for my wide receiver, I choose Marquise Colston, play it against the Lions. And this one I actually totally agree on. I'm huge on Colston this week, starting in myself. I like Colston this week as well. You got, Jimmy Graham is not going to play. No, he's out with him. With his mystery shoulder injury. And the lions are a good defense.
They're actually particularly good against the pass, too. I don't know. But that's one of those, I think, the gut calls where you feel like the Jimmy Graham targets have to go somewhere. Right. And I don't think the Brandon Cook's trickery is going to work against the Lions. The bubble screens, short, quick passes. I don't think that's going to work. I think the dumps to Thomas and then...
hitting Colston for a mid-range in the mid-range is going to be the red butter for the Saints this week. That's pretty much my exact thoughts, and that's why I'm flying on Colston. For Andy's tight head, he picks Jay Samarrow, Pat, our Patriots. Playing against the Patriots. You ruined it because you said he. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's supposed to be Andy's voice. Whoops. It was a mirage. Your cover is blown.
Andy is not here. That was a lie to you guys all the time. Now, Jay Samarro, he's going on, he is flying on this one. By the way, let's just take a couple seconds. Andy, I did pretty well. Andy crushed it on his starts of the week. He had Flacco, Tori Smith. Who did he have his running back? Joyick Bell. Oh, yeah. And his D, I think his D was good. We both missed on tight end, but...
Owen, how do the Ravens throw five touchdowns and Owen Daniels gets nothing? That's beside the point. But, so, uh, Dap, Dap of the hat, Dibbitty Dap to Andy who crushed it. So, uh, I will believe him on J-Samara against, against the Patriots. Yeah. They, the jets have Eric Decker. True. And that's it. Jerp.
Uh, but they just, so I, maybe, maybe he scores the, I mean, this isn't even as a Dolphins fan. I just don't tend to trust Jets players at all. That is understandable. Um, there, I mean, there's, it depends on what your waivers look like. There's a handful of other tight ends that I would go with because essentially it's going to be touchdown or bust for most of them anyway. Right. That's, that's a usual tight end thing. Yeah. Um, but Amaro is talented and it's possible that,
Last week was kind of the, if you believe in the breakout win, and then they just keep surging afterwards. Very possible. That'll be seen. And now I'm sorry that you have to make this next read. For my defense, I will pick the Chicago Bears versus the Miami Dolphense. This one I can't even necessarily disagree with either. No Sean Marino is done for. Oh, no.
Um, I'm actually, I had debated, uh, putting in the Bears defense against the dolphins for this one. I can't, I won't, but, uh, that is the worst when you have to do that. Oh, you know, it's bad. Here you are Sunday. Yeah. So exciting to watch every snap from your favorite team and at the same time you're rooting. Yeah. Then they throw a pick six and you're like,
Yay, no, yay, no. And then you rip your face off. Right, exactly. And I have to go a real-life fan before I'm a fantasy fan. Bears are not a bad choice at all. It's going to be up to Tanna Hill to actually pass the ball from here on out. Miller's going to probably average maybe four or five yards of carry. That's not bad, though. No, it's not bad, but what will happen is dolphins will end up behind and have to pass it for pretty much the rest of them. Yeah, maybe. I think Miller's actually a good play this week. The bears are...
Not the best rushing defense. So I don't remember where they rank on that. But, yep, that's Andy's picks. All right, let's take on the world. The fantasy footballers versus the world. All right. So the way this game is played, this is essentially a start and sit where we will debate, we'll test our knowledge, and then we will between two players, do you want player A or player B, and then we will look at the consensus on...
Fantasypros.com and see where the experts aligned their opinion. And what I do, I don't know the answers to any of these questions. I don't know who the experts have chosen. I'm glad I did not know the rules to this game. I would have totally. You would have cheated. Just scoured everyone who would say. I am so smart. That's not in the spirit. And what I do is I try and get real life, real questions that people could be dealing with and that are close. So let's...
Let's start the game. So first, we have ODB, O'Dell Beckham Jr. versus James Jones. Now, Beckham is playing the Cowboys, and James Jones is playing the Cardinals. Who would you start? I'm a little bit higher on James Jones right now. Don't have a great reason to that. No, that's fair. That's fair. The Cowboys have been hot.
And I've explained what I believe of the Cardinals defense. Right. So I'm going to lean James Jones on this one. So let's pull it up. The experts have spoken. 64% take ODB. Oh. Well, I mean, not even close. Yeah, it's somewhat close. But the, when you...
A nice thing of fantasy pros is then they tell you which experts pick who. And where they're from? Yeah. Where are they right for? And as you play the game, you're going to find some experts who you tend to agree with. You think you like their opinions. Kind of like me. And me, the fantasy hitman. The best opinions in the business. But the, I will say.
