This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Every football fan is different. Some won't wash their lucky mustard-stained jersey until the season's over. Some insist they can't sit down on third downs and some pick their favorite team because, I don't know, just like football fandom, nobody's life is exactly the same. And that's why State Farm gets to know you, not as a policy number, but as an actual person.

Hey, we're back again. Football tonight. Thursday. I lost it a little bit there. Thursday, October 15th, 2015, the year.
We're getting so close to that Back to the Future date. Do you know that? I watched Back to the Future One with my children last night. How funny. Really? Yeah, we're getting, we're getting, it's almost October 21st. Okay, so tell me if you, like...
Okay, from a scale of, you know, PG to R, back to the future is as benign as it gets, right? No, no, no, it's not. I thought it was. It's pretty benign, but if you watch it with your kids, you have a different sensitivity. Yeah, if you've got your six-year-old children, there's a lot of... And it's incredible how many, how much profanities in that movie that I didn't notice until I watched it with my kids, right? Yeah, a lot of curse words and also a rape scene. Yeah, and a rape scene. There's that.
But you don't, you know. Man, the 80s. You could do a lot with PG in the 80s. It's funny because I have another story to tell you. It's Star Wars related, but we'll get to that. Welcome to the show. This is the Fantasy Footballers podcast. We've got our, you know, this is like my favorite show of the week. I love the Thursday show. We preview the upcoming games. Week 6 is at hand. We've got the Thursday night football game. Starts of the week, which is the best. Yeah, so check us out on the web.

We're on Join the Foot.com, our fantasy community on there, so check that out. Guys, guys. Yeah. The Falcons. The Falcons. There's a quick question for the day. The Falcons allow 288 passing yards per game. That is 29th in the league. Our Drew Brees, Brandon Cooks, and Willie Sneed must not...
Must snarts. Must starts for the game tonight. You enjoy that? Did you enjoy that, Mike? Yeah. You're just replaying snarts in your head? You sound like a Dr. Seuss character. Yes. I think... Would you snart him in a train? I would not snart him on a plane. They are all start worthy. Saying must starts, when I say it's a must start, that pretty much means, you know, there's nobody I'm going to start over them. But like... Doesn't it mean you must start? Right.
Yes, that's what I'm saying. So it's dependent on your roster. When I say must start, I mean must start. Okay, dependent on your roster. Irrespective of your roster, would you have to start them? I would start all of these guys. I would not snart them if I had this other guy. Listen, these are must start guys unless you must not start them.
Okay, well, this question has gone sideways. I'm playing all of those characters in my lineup if I got them. It's a divisional game. It's at home in New Orleans. I like them. I like them all. And Sneed is rising up because Colson should miss at least tonight's game with the injury. And so I thought he's going to miss a lot more, but now it's looking like maybe not. Even if he did not, we're going to talk about Willie Sneed a little bit.
later more at depth, but he's just, he has risen from, from nothing to now he's getting major playtime. Yeah, yeah. So we're going to get into the news and notes. We're going to talk about injuries, concerns for your fantasy team. Man, in one of our leagues yesterday.
It was crazy. In our League of Record, yes. This is ridiculous. It was insane. Pull up the... Oh, the trades that took place? Not the actual... We're not going to go through all the trade. But the names of guys who have been moved. There were so many... So we're in a Keeper League. You can trade draft picks and stuff, so a little bit more action happens during the year. Teams are, you know, bailing out on their seasons, or they're just trying to mix things up. But in one day...
Here's the name of the players that were traded. Jamal Charles, okay, for keeper value. Rob Grancowski, Matt Forte, Amari Cooper, LaShawn McCoy, Mark Ingram, Doug Martin, Emmanuel Sanders, Andre Ellington, Jonathan Stewart. All traded. Same day. That was just in the last week. That wasn't all in the same day. 95% of that was yesterday. Yeah, a couple days, but man, it was insanity. It was crazy. It was very crazy. If your league's not doing that, it's very fun. So, uh...
Also, you said you showed your kids back to the future. This has been the week of Star Wars for my two boys. I have a six-year-old boy. I have a four-year-old boy. This is the time of Star Wars in their lives. The new movies are coming out. So we borrowed all six of the movies on Blu-ray, and they're going crazy. They're just, they're in love with these movies. And so today, this morning, is making some Chewbacca-related jokes.
and I'm making the Chewbacca sound around the house, and Nathan starts doing it, and everyone starts doing Chewbacca, this is Chubacca around the breakfast table. I think I know where this is going. And Nathan, I don't know if you do. Okay, go ahead. So then Nathan, because you might have heard it already from my wife when you. I think I heard it from your child. I got it from the horse's mouth. There you go. So Nathan goes, you know, I bet Mike, I bet Mike could do a really, really good Chewbacca. And we're like, why? And he's like,
Because he kind of looks like Chewbacca. So I just wanted you to know. If you need a Halloween idea coming up. And they asked me. You can do a great Chewbacca, right? Let's hear it, Mike. Let's hear it. Oh, the answer is no. It could be better. All right, let's get into the news and notes. News and notes from around the league. I really. That was pretty good. That was pretty good. All right.
I got to grow my beard out. Oh. That was not. No. No, all tried it now. All right. ESPN Colts, uh, writer Mike Wells. Now, he's not the only one. There are several beat writers who seem to think Andrew Luck is not a sure bet to play on Sunday. That's the gist of this. So, uh, fantasy wise, if he's starting, you're playing him, right? Yeah. Yeah. And the last, the.
I feel like the last two weeks, all the news being leaked out there was, oh, he's a sure bet to play. He's a sure bet to play through the middle of the week. And then, of course, he doesn't play. But he's practicing and he's making all the throws. Exactly. And now all of a sudden it's like, oh, he might not play. It just seems like they're doing stupid misdirection. I expect him to play. Oh, you're saying maybe it's the Colts trying to put that out there. It's the old John Fox. Yeah. The old one, too. Trying to get a little foxy.
All right. Marcus Colston is listed as doubtful. He won't play tonight. Sammy Watkins does expect to play. They said 40-50 snaps in the game against the Bengals. I don't see him as a guy you want to put in your lineup. Not with all the other options out there, not with the guys that are kind of up and coming. With Taylor banged up, Tyrod Taylor may or may not play with his MCL sprain. If he does, then he's limited. If he doesn't, then Sammy Watkins is limited by E.J. Manuel, so. Yeah, and I will.
It's funny because I guess the Cincinnati newspaper, because the bills are facing Cincinnati, every week they do a Madden simulation, and they just put it in the paper. So they did the Madden simulation, and they did one simulation with Tyrod Taylor, and they did one with E.J. Manuel, because they didn't know who's going to start. When they did it with Taylor, the Bengals won 13 to 7. When they did it with Manuel, the bills won by like two touchdowns. Wow.
So that game's broken. No, but I actually think Tyra Taylor's going to play. I'm going to put that out there. We'll go through everybody tomorrow. We'll be saying, do we think they're in or now? But catch you up with some news now. Kind of a surprise. I don't think we expect it. Lorenzo Taliaferro is on injured reserve with a foot injury. This bumps up Buck Allen, a lot. Yep, for sure. He is the guaranteed backup.
because Talia Farrow is out, and Justin Forsett's ankle is a concern right now. So pick up Javarius. Absolutely. I put a claim in for every league that I did not yet have him in. All right. March on Lynch. Do I need to bump up my fab bid here? Because you heard that? No, you don't. We do have waivers going through in six minutes. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know. Better adjust my numbers. Me too. Keep that hand away. Maybe I do too.
So Lynch is ready to go. We have, we released our rankings yesterday. Our week six rankings are on the website, the fantasy footballers.com. We got, somebody was complaining yesterday that they weren't out sooner. I want to kind of give a very quick perspective on that for people. We could come out with the rankings on Monday if we wanted to. Yeah, we should be. But they could, they would not be accurate or as accurate as they could be. And so we try to, you know, we try to do the balance between accuracy.
And more information happens later in the week and getting them to you so you can make decisions. So, you know, we normally release those on Wednesday towards the evening time. It depends on when we all finish them. As soon as a couple of us get our rankings done, they're up on the site. So where do you – so Lynch right now, I know there's a disparity there. I have him at 9, so I'm the highest – I just think he's going to come back in and have a good game. He's playing Carolina. I don't blame you guys for having him lower. Mike, you have him at 16. Jason, you have him at 20.
The whole reason is Carolina. 100%. I think he comes in. I think he gets all the workload, but it's Carolina, and their offensive line hasn't been good anyway, so it's more matchup than my expectation of them not being used. Agreed. All righty. Let's go ahead and what else do we got? Devante Adams returned to practice. I don't know if he'll play, but this is a good sign for him. It also means if you can get value for some reason in your league for Ty Montgomery because of his one blowup game, anything at all? I would go do it right now.
O'Dell Beckham Jr. is not practicing on Wednesday. John Harbaugh says he expects Steve Smith to practice to some degree on Wednesday. Do we think he'll play? I think he's going to play. He's old man strength, Steve Smith. Can't count him out. All righty. And LaShawn McCoy, surprise, return to practice. Do we think he's the guy that's going to get the ball this week? Maybe next week. I'm not thinking that he will. So do you think Carlos even makes it back?
Carlos, I don't think so, man. So are we seeing the E.J. Manuel Boom Heron? In Boobie Dixon, yeah. Wow. In an update, Odo Beckham will not practice today on Thursday either. Yeah, I mean, it's not looking good for him. That's trouble. He's a Monday night game. The story with Ruben Randall, though. Dwayne Harris is the guy. He's available on your waiver, and I've answered some of these questions. If you've got O'Dell Beckham and you want to have him in your lineup, but you're a little worried. Well, isn't Randall the guy? Yes.
Yeah, but Randall Mayer? Randall, to me, is also an injury risk. I think that if Odell Beckham is out, then Dwayne Harris is going to get a lot of targets and be a valuable guy, and I just know he's on the waiver. Ruben Randall is in probably half the league's own, so I'm just saying that's a great option for you.
