Oh, welcome in. Sounded like a weed whacker. Good old-fashioned 6 a.m. I'm trying to sleep in, and then my neighbor's like, wake up. What's going on, everybody? Welcome into the show. I'm back, baby. That's right. It is nice to have you back. Have us all in one room so that we can make incredible jokes and play off one another.

3:36 ↗

Your goatee is gone. So that was one avenue that I was, like, hoping to make a lot of jokes on me. Right. And I took that away from you. I gave you a completely new avenue. They said it couldn't get worse than the goatee. That's what they said. They were wrong. Oh, and then the producers zoom in. Oh, yeah. If you want to see my fat face, go to YouTube.com slash the fantasy footballers and count the chins. There are three men and four chins here. So welcome.

4:02 ↗

Four? Oh, God. Oh, man. Welcome, man. I'll tell you what, my face looks like week nine in the NFL. That's how bad my face looks right now. Your face is drunk? Dude, this was the wildest, craziest week. I feel like. Don't bet on sports. I mean, just don't do it. I feel like if an analyst got everything right this weekend.

4:29 ↗

They're a batting. Oh, right. You know what I mean? It was just so unpredictable. It was it was absolute anarchy. Nothing made sense complete, stranger things upside down in the NFL this week. Are you saying that it was strange that the now playoff bound Atlanta Falcons defeated the Northern Saints? Is that a strange thing? I would say that was almost as strange as the Jacksonville Jaguars beating the Buffalo Bills. I feel like we should.

4:58 ↗

just briefly sit there. I know we're going through studs and duds on the show. But I really want to talk about this cover two shell thing because the chiefs this year, including this game against the Packers, their offense has been slowed down. Patrick Mahomes hasn't been what he's been. What I see is Madden rating dropped a spot. Did you see that? That's when you know it's real. Get body. And, um,

5:24 ↗

Now you have a game in which the Jacksonville Jaguars are able to control the Buffalo Bill's offense. And I know that there will be, it's reaction and then reaction and the reaction. But right now, I mean, the math adds up. You take away the deep passes. You play cover two shell. You put DBs, safeties in the corners, and you make teams pass 10 times to score instead of two times to score. And guess what happens? Turnovers.

5:54 ↗

Yep. Mistakes. Penalties. Any of those things can disrupt the drive. It makes sense to do it to these teams. And I don't know if it started in, like I didn't go back and watch the Super Bowl with Tampa Bay and see if that's what they did. But teams have found a way to slow down big arm quarterbacks this year. Part of the mayhem that took place. I mean, the Packers, they looked awful. But they almost, they could have won the game. So.

6:19 ↗

I don't know. It has implications for fantasy because you have expectations of Diggs and Tyreek and Kelsey and Mahomes and Allen and, you know, big plays make fantasy football fun. Yeah. And so I vote. We ban it. We ban the cover two shell. It's funny you bring up Madden because that's exactly what this reminds me of is when you're playing someone in Madden and they're just like kicking your butt over and over and over. And then like they're using the Ravens.

6:47 ↗

And they're just, Lamar's running all over you. And you finally find the play that has a spy. And you're like, oh, well, I just, I just use this defense every single time and they can't roll the quarterback up. So it's, this shouldn't be happening. Like, I don't know enough X's and O's of, you know, defense versus offense to, you know, talk about the cover two shell that's, that's being reported this morning. But you, how is a, as a.

7:16 ↗

head coach in the NFL, if they're just rolling this particular defense out, how can you not figure out how to beat it? You should be able to disintegrate it, but the two teams that can't disintegrate it are the two teams that can't run the football. Buffalo doesn't have a rushing offense. And Kansas City, it's fine. And that's what you need to do against this defense. You need to run the ball to break it down and then neither team can do it. But it's just been, it's been crazy to watch. Crazy weekend. I mean, Cardinals had no first team.

7:46 ↗

and dismantled the 49ers. You had, obviously, the Jacksonville game was insane. Denver goes into Dallas. I mean, if this game had been in. Dallas was shut out. I know they got 16 points at the end, but that was a shutout. Right. It was unbelievable. There's never been any more garbage than what Dak Prescott did. I was on. The Rams decided to take up most of our time.

8:12 ↗

on one last drive that made no sense to do so. I had way too many plays they had to freak out about Cooper Cup scoring against me. Player safety, Andy, player safety. Honestly, I kept thinking about it last night when these games were going on. I kept thinking, take a knee and get out of here. The game's over. Take a knee. You're not even doing anything for the books. They're saying effect in the spreads. There is, I do believe at a certain, like, if you have zero points.

8:38 ↗

Okay, and you want to play and you want to go kick a field goal just so that your record doesn't have the shutout on it? I understand that. But if you have no chance to win the game, there is honor in being the team that's just like you did it. You took it this time. As long as it's not a playoff game or the Super Bowl. Right. You can fall on that sword. You did it. You beat us. We'll see you next time. Well, I mean, look at baseball. They used to on the intentional walk. No.

9:04 ↗

On the intentional walk, you used to have to throw the ball four times. And they eventually just said, if you want to intentionally walk somebody, just go to first, teams should be able to just say, all right, we're done. Yes. We can see. But the only way you do that is it's not, you don't tell the refs, you must walk off the field without telling anybody. You must walk straight off and then you know. But yeah, it was crazy. We always react on Monday with Monday Punday. So let's get sophisticated. How about?

9:33 ↗

Boston squat. Oh, squat. Or Boston snot. Oh, yes, and the ever-appropriate Flames Connor. What about Cadarius phony? Embarious, Tony. That sounds like a Harry Potter spell. Embarious. Elijah score. Carlos tried. Yes, he did. I mean, not bad. DJ Snore. Jarvis Shandry.

10:03 ↗

Come on down, Donovan People's Choice Award. That's so dumb. And let's not leave here without bashing Brooks's Cowboys. Yes, yes. Slack, Prescott. Amari Pooper. In Silence of the Lamb. And Alec. Elicio. Ezekiel? Sure, Ezekiel, Ezekiel Smelliot. I like Elicio, better. He's taking a leak on the field with his play. Woof.

10:31 ↗

Week 9, go away. There were more. I mean, we could. It was crazy. It was absolutely crazy. I mean, there are stories we haven't even told. It's not done yet. Because. Oh, yeah, the Bears are going to dominate today. I mean, Alan Robinson hope he's in your lineup. He's going to have 200 yards on the Steelers. He's in one of my lineos. I mean, the only thing that would make sense. We haven't even talked about Brandon Ayyuk.

10:54 ↗

Because, Andy, we haven't hit the stud section of the show. Hey, make sure you check out the website, the fancy footballers.com. We're on Twitter at the FF Ballers. Before we jump into the news, I do want to briefly, now that I'm back, thank everybody that was super supportive over the past week. Obviously, a stressful time for our family. Had a number of incredible human beings reach out and offer us support. And obviously a lot of people are in far worse situations than we were.

11:23 ↗

You know, prayers out to everybody right now going through so much with the COVID stuff. So back, healthy, happy. Feel very blessed to say that. News and notes from Around the League, presented by Sleeper. Calvin Ridley was added to the reserve non-football injury list ahead of week nine. He will miss a minimum of two more weeks. So reevaluate at that point. Clyde Edwards O'Leary getting closer to a potential return from my R.

11:59 ↗

We'll see what happens. Closer to a potential return? Yeah, that sounds like steps away. That's ominous. The big news was Tua, Tungaviloa, we found out, was not going to play. I mean, small fracture in the middle finger of his throwing hand. Berset got the start. If you watch the game, I apologize to your eyes. You got that dub. And they placed Devante Parker on IR. We had reported he wasn't going to play, had a setback.

12:25 ↗

But the kind, it was like a McCaffrey setback where you go right on IR and we're just going to wait. Yeah, it was so upsetting because of what we saw last week. Devante Parker looked like, you know, he was playing great. And it was like, okay, we've got, we've got an offense here. Two is throwing the ball well. Let's, let's believe in the dolphins and then you get neither of them. That was upsetting. Injuries in week nine, the big one was Chase Edmonds leaving with a high ankle sprain after one play.

12:53 ↗

could be heading to short-term IR. They're doing an MRI today to confirm a high ankle sprain. Depending on that result, you'll get the timeline for Chase Edmund's return. I don't know if it's fair to bring up what has happened to Mike or not. But here we are. Fookland, I can't believe, Mike, I can't believe you're here. Like on this planet. I am so proud of you for being here.

13:22 ↗

The only way you could have lost. I couldn't find a bridge high enough. You have lost. Oh, no. You have lost heartbreaker after heartbreaker after heartbreaker after impossible heartbreaker. Yes. And last night I guaranteed you a win. Which you've done before. Which I have done before. I guaranteed it because it was locked in. It was over. Basically the only possible way you could.
