Fantasy Football Podcast 2015 - Week 6 Matchups, The Daily Dose, TNF Review

Rob Grankowski hasn't scored in a couple of games. Does that change Sunday night? Probably. Yeah, probably. Julian Edelman has been a consistent performer, not just in PPR. In every league format, do we see Edelman's season continuing on this trajectory? Do we see it changing because of the involvement of Lafell down the line? No, I fully expect him to continue this all season long. You saw in years past. So let me ask you.

when Wes Welker was the king and he was so valuable on teams. Randy Moss was still there and Brandon LaFelle is no Randy Moss. So rest of season. Edelman or Maclin, Jason? Oh, Edelman. Edelman to me is like top five type of guy. Okay. So Edelman or Larry Fitzgerald rest of the season. Ooh. I'm going to go Edelman. Standard I'll take Fitzgerald. PPR I'll take Edelman. Yes. Brandon Marshall. Edelman.

Ooh, that's... I'll take Marshall. Okay. I was just curious. For me, from... See how much love you guys had for Edelman now, because we didn't give him enough at draft season. There is something to be said about not just how high a guy will finish, but how he puts his production up. And his baseline is so high that there is...

You know, I would rather have DeAndre Hopkins. I'd rather have Julio and maybe Antonio Brown. There's very few guys I'd rather have than Edelman from a standpoint of I know I'm getting a lot of targets and a lot of catches every week from this guy. Okay. And obviously we're starting Brady. We're starting Lewis. We're starting blunt? Yeah, I'm pulling up the numbers right now.

because I forgot to do that. The last four games these teams have played, the Patriots have outscored the Colts by an average of 29 points. That lends itself to Legerrett Blunt, having a nice game if they can get ahead again in the same fashion, but they're in Indianapolis. And that was what I wanted to bring up was just specifically the last two games against the Colts. There was the regular season game last year. That was the Jonas Gray game.

Do you remember when Jonas Gray had 200-plus yards, multi-touch downs? I think he remembers, too. Each and every week he's on the practice squad of Miami. He wakes up. He's got the newspaper clipping on his roof. I would, too. And then he got benched, of course, as we know. In the playoffs, LaGarriot Blunt did the exact same thing to the Colts. So clearly, I believe the Patriots know something.

about the Colts of how to exploit them, which other teams, I guess, aren't doing of how to run the ball against them. Yeah, Pagano has lost the head-to-head strategic type of battle here with Belichick each and every time. So I think it's riskier, but I think Garrett Blunt could be one of those weak winning guys this week. Last question on this game. Andrew Luck, do you just roll them out there and just say, hey, let's go? Yes. You do? Yes. You say that with conviction.

Yeah. Okay. Monday night Giants go and face Philadelphia. Philadelphia is favored in this game. Sam Bradford's had a couple good games in a row fantasy-wise. I wouldn't say football-wise necessarily. I think he's been adequate at best. A couple, you know, in-zone interceptions, not end-zone touchdowns. I listened to that part of it. Somebody sent that to me when I kept saying, you know, he had in-zone touchdowns. Those are my absolute favorite type. You guys corrected me.

And then I went on a really quick tire, and I said, you know, if you can correct his in-zone touchdowns. You know, I said it again. Yeah, I said it again. Wow. Because that was super smart.

Eli and Sam Bradford, fine starting both, right? Absolutely. I love this game through the air. You've got two not very good past defenses going at it. DeMarco is my start of the week at the running back position. I think he continues to improve. I think they're figuring things out there. The game is coming a lot easier to him in Philadelphia right now. Mike, talk to me about Ryan Matthews. How do you see him this week and going forward? I like him as an RB2 this week.

And RB2, that's, I mean, that's bold. Yeah. Yes, it is bold. I just, I think that the team, like you said, I think they're figuring it out. And one of the ways that to improve the team is you have to get Ryan Matthews involved. He's been at least. He's been the better back. Yeah, really that's what I say. He's either been better or at least equal to to Marco Murray throughout the season. He's just not getting the, he didn't get the touchdowns like.

like Murray has, but he's looked good. He's looked a great fit for the offense. He's involved in the past game. I personally making this choice, at least of right now, I am starting Ryan Matthews over Jeremy Hill. Okay. I mean, you have to make a decision here on Jeremy Hill, and this is, I mean, that's right on the line for me, so I don't blame you. Let's talk about...

the wide receiver situation for both teams. We know the injury concerns with O'Dell Beckham Jr. and Ruben Randall. My gut tells me O'Dell Beckham Jr. is going to play on Monday night football. Yeah, I agree. I think he will. You hope that he doesn't start the game. That's re-injure the hammy and then exit for 90% of the game and you end up with garbage. Yeah, that's the risk you take. I mean, if you think he's going to play.

You should hopefully have an insurance policy. If you need one, I've got a recommendation for you. I know where you're going. If you have Adelebeck and Jr., you can go sign Josh Huff. That's what I thought. You can go sign Riley Cooper if you have to. You can sign Nelson Aguilar if he's sitting there. Grab another option for you at the wide receiver position that plays on Monday night football so that you can have, you know, an emergency inactive doesn't leave you with zero points. I would still rather have Dwayne Harris, but. Yes.

I do like, I think Huff is a really sneaky play this week. At the tight end position, you have Zach Earts, my stream of the week. I also really like Sproles, just throwing that out there. If you need somebody, the Giants have been kind of torched just with those little over-the-top passes time and time and time and time again this year. So that's where I think.

Sproles and Ertz are going to feast in that little middle of the field and have big weeks this week. I think you're going to see a really exciting fun game that has a lot of fantasy relevance. And I think somebody in the backfield for the Giants is going to put up a good game. It's probably going to be Jennings, but it could be Verene. I like Verene. We just have a hard time. I'm not going to pretend I know what's going to happen in that backfield. I really don't. So let's go ahead and take some time, talk to Chris Meena of the Fantasy Sports Network, and get some DFS Insight.

Not too bad, guys. Thanks for having me on Friday. Ready for some football? Week six, here we go. Absolutely. So we know the drill. Let's start at the top. Who are the big budget guys that you believe are worth the money? The Tom Brady's, the Aaron Rogers. Who are you going with?

Well, Tom Brady, I mean, I always have to go with this guy. I have to have him at least one of my lineups. You know, he's playing the Colts. We all know the storyline, the deflated balls. I just feel like New England's offense has been so nice this season. Even with Dionne Lewis in the backfield, he'll throw in the ball that way. Edelman, you got Gromk. There's so many options. So Tom Brady is certainly a guy that I'm going to spend the money on $9,000. I mean, other than that, I don't truly trust luck.

I certainly don't trust Peyton Manning. I mean, I saw a stat the other day on Peyton Manning. The Broncos are averaging 1.6 touchdowns per 60 minutes. When Tim Tebow was the quarterback with Denver, they averaged two touchdowns for 60 minutes. That's how bad it is in Denver right now for Peyton Manning and the company. Oh, that is brutal. Yeah, awful, right? All right, so which narrative would you buy into more than Tom Brady versus Indianapolis with the deflate gate?

or Carson Palmer versus Pittsburgh with Pittsburgh kind of trying to force Bruce Ariens into retirement. So who would you rather have, just Tom Brady versus Carson Palmer? Yeah, I would rather Brady, but there's no disrespect to Palmer. He's been really, really good. $8,000 is a nice price where you're going to save $1,000.

But again, it's Tom Brady. I just think this guy has a definite chip on his shoulder. He's out there to prove things. And listen, if they're up by 30 points in this game, I just don't even think they let up. I think they just go all out. So it's Brady for me. For wide receivers, I'm a little bit worried about Beckham. You're going to start on a contest that starts at Sunday, and you can't, your lineups lock. So for whatever reason, Beckham is not playing on Monday.

That's obviously too bad. He's $9,100. So I'm staying away from Beckham. I don't like Antonio Brown. I'm paying up for DeAndre Hopkins. This guy has 70 plus targets. The leader last year at this point after week was Jordy Nelson, 55 targets. DeAndre Hopkins has 75 already and back to back to back games with 100 plus yards. Those are ridiculous numbers with his targets. So let's talk about...

Let's talk some running backs. Are any of the big guys in your lineups for sure this week? You know what? I'm going out. I think this is the week for DeMarco Murray. I actually do. $7,600. Obviously, you got your AP, your Levi-on-Bel, your forte. I like all of them. I'm staying away from Lynch. I'm staying away from Fawcett. I don't truly trust Arian Foster just yet, but I'm sure I'm going to have him in at least one of my lineups. I'm also staying away from Eddie Lacey. Those are the top price backs this week.

I'm seeing Starks get more and more play. I think Eddie Lee is just a little bit banged up. Dionne Lewis is a fantastic price at 7-2. He's been a top five, six quarterback each week that he's played. He's just consistent. I think DeMarco Murray gets it done this week. You know what? The Giants have been pretty good against the run, but they allowed Dunbar to get 70 yards on them. Randall, 42 yards in the air, mind you. Freeman, 34 yards in the air. Thompson, 57 yards in the air. And then Carlos Williams, 30-plus yards in the air.

Right now, DeMarco Murray has at least four catches in three of the four weeks he's played. He's on pace to break the 57 receptions and 416 yards he had through the air last year. I know he only has 18 grabs and 113. But I just think this is a high-scoring affair. I'm comfortable rolling out Sam Bradford at 7-7, who's been a lot better in the last six quarters that he's played. He's racked up over 600 yards, five TDs over the last six quarters.

46 plus fandal points over the last two games, the 5 TDs, the 600 yards, as I mentioned. Also throwing the ball 73 times. So I think that Bradford connects with Murray a few times through the year. And the over-under is 50 points in that game. So I just expect a lot of points. So I'm rolling with Murray this week. I think he's going to have the good game. I've been wrong before about the Eagles, but I'm going that way.

It sounds good. I think DeMarco Murray is actually Andy's start of the week. Is that correct, Andy? That is correct. Yeah, so I like that. We're in sync with that one. Let's talk some value plates. Who are the mid-to-lower price guys that you like this week? There are a few. Even cheaper than Bradford is Dalton at 7-6.

Dalton's just, he's safe. I mean, his floor seems to be about 14 points. This guy was the top four quarterback two years ago when he had weapons and he was healthy. So right now, even against Buffalo, I still like that play. I love Bortles. I mean, how could you not like Bortals? This guy is throwing the ball at least 33 times in all five of his games.

fairly cheap. And you know what, Alan Robinson at 6-7, and then you got Hearns at 6-5. These guys are fairly cheap, too. A nice matchup against Houston. They're going to throw the ball a lot there. Maybe there's no yelled in this week. Maybe they throw the ball a little bit more. So those are cheap plays. I think Tarkandric West is not really sure what to expect from this guy. People say he's Jamal Charles like, but the bottom line is Andy Reid's been able to utilize backfields. I mean, Nile Davis a couple years ago was the stud.

when Charles went down. Even before LaShawn McCoy was LaShaq McCoy, when Westbrook went down, the Philadelphia days, he was able to make LaShaquay a valuable option, too. So at West at 6-2, I think he's almost a must-play in a couple of your leagues. You want to go really, really cheap. Dwayne Harris is really interesting. Five-three against the Eagles.
