Tuesday episode of the show, Andy Mike and Jason, the fantasy footballers. Back with you for a waiver episode. We get to talk about big, big news that broke earlier this morning. We have talked to the league, and we've tried to get them to always schedule the news to be, you know, just before we record, while we record. It was kind and, you know, we wanted to relate to the game last night. Yeah, yeah. Both awesome and awful at the same time. The game was? The game was just such a great back and forth game. Between the refs. But the refs, man.

I mean, it was like the most awesome, good enough scoring, back and forth, competitive game that I wanted to stop watching because they stopped playing every 20 seconds. Don't you watch, though, for the refs to see what the sweet calls are from like the top raps and get your calls per game? I mean, we're... I live for those illegal formations, man. I just, I love the new focus. I mean, I've said it so many times. Get that out of the game. It is the illegal formations that they, so I'm so happy the NFL's cracking down on this because those guys lining up illegally. I just don't know. Unbelievable. You're both ridiculous. You're both ridiculous. You're out of line. No, you guys are saying don't have a formation that's legal. I mean, I am, no, no, listen, you just follow the rules and you won't get called. No, no, no. I am saying there should be no rules there. Behind the line of scrimmage, that's it. You can't line up.

past where the ball is. You are both psychotic. If that's what you believe. You want to put eight people to the right side of the line? Let's see what happens. You want to not block the quarterback? What is the problem with that? There's a league for you. It's called arena football. It's super popular. You should buy season tickets. Yeah. I mean, if that was the primary league, there's a mall. There's a mall somewhere where they're playing that game right now. Winer, just follow the rules and you'll be fine. The league goes through this all the time. How about you have a formation that's legal, and then we don't get a penalty. Cool. Big ref over here. What's this all about? This guy loves the stripes. We added two flags. The owners of the NFL have gone through enough, and so have the refs. We added refs to our league. Think about them. Flags per game. We added some reps. We're going to need to. Josh Allen, two touchdowns through the air, one on the ground. 19 for 25, 215.

Aaron Rogers threw for 294 and 2 had a pick, Breece Hall. We said it. This was going to be the game. It was. And he was 18 for 113, got all the work. It was great. His utilization in the running game, his snaps, his routes run. Everything was what we as Breece Hall drafters have been hoping for. So it's nice to see that coincide with the offensive. play caller shift. I just saw some more news come in that we're going to get to talk about today. It's kind of, it's kind of impactful. Yeah, I don't like it. Well, we'll, you know, tease it along as we finish this game. Now, Ray Davis, Ray Davis. Holy crap. He did not get the start, Mike. Yeah, that's, thank you. He did not get to start. That's another thing. Ty Johnson got the start. What is that all about? If you're Ty Johnson and you're like, brother, you're starting.

You get out there and rips off a huge run. And they're like, all right, you're going to need to sit down for the rest of the game. Why? Yeah. Why? Just put Davis in. Don't you think he feels that respect? Don't you think it's like, wow. I'm so glad I got that veteran start. He's on the sideline and full superhero pose. It's like, I did it. I did it. I started. It's almost the opposite of what they're trying to do. They're trying to show him that veteran respect. But there's no way you go out and tell someone you're starting. You get that first snap.

And then you're not upsetting them the rest of the game. To be fair, this was not necessarily the game playing. When Ray Davis got in the game, he started chunking off run after run after run. It was easy to go hot hand at that point. But the hot hand started with the first carry. I don't think it did. Yeah. Ty Johnson, I don't think got the carry. The second carry or the second play of the game, he got a carry. And it was Ray Davis on the second play. He was the first chunk play, from my recollection. Ty Johnson, I don't think, got the ball in the first play.

Did he? He got a carry. I'll go. I don't. I believe that the first carry of the game was Ray Davis. Let me go find it. It was the first snap that went to Ty Johnson. Anyway, Ray Davis caught three passes for he has, who's 2497. Ty John, the very first. So Greg Zerline kicks off 65 yards. Oh boy. Ty Johnson, right end, 12 yards. That's a chunk. That's the first down. I remember that now. He went around the right edge. I know. And then there's like, okay. That did that. The only problem, if you want to go Ray Davis, do it. Don't do this bull crap. You're like, well, Ty Johnson is better. You two need to take like some sort of sedative. We're on fire. No, this is not fire. This is anger. You came back from whatever trips you're on with like, no, it's a new perspective. Paint up rage. Well, let's, let's just. Speaking of rage, let's turn it over. Oh, yeah. Let's turn it over to Al Borland, who.

You know, you guys hear these stories from time to time. Last year's major story. I'm here for the, I haven't got to weigh in. Evil Josh added again. Josh did nothing. No, I agree. I agree. It was the Falcon. No, no, Josh is responsible for his own team. Yeah. He improved his team. Actually, he didn't, but yeah. I don't know what happened to you this weekend, Mike. Lay it out and we'll let the people decide. Last night, we talked about it on the show. Al Borland just needed James Cook. and the Jets D to score fewer than like 12 points to win his matchup. And then James Cook ruled out. Awesome. Yeah. And so his opponent didn't have any backups. He just had. He had Curtis Samuel and Mack Hall. But he had Curtis Samuel in his lineup. I know that because that was the pivot. It doesn't matter which one he had in his lineup. Oh, it was. Oh, really? Yep. It would have. Oh, Mac Holland scored, but it wouldn't have mattered? Correct.

Because the Jets D did so bad. So what happened? They combined for like 10 points. Oh, no. So this did change it. I didn't think it changed it. Absolutely changed it. So what happened is James Cook gets ruled out. I tell my co-manager, dude, we have a prayer in this game. About 20 minutes later, I see a trade go through where Josh traded my opponent, Ray Davis for a six, seven swap. Yeah. Josh is divisional. Which, that must have been your opponent's idea. So here's the deal. I would have had so much respect if my opponent had the foresight to say, I need to go get Ray Davis. I would have had a little bit of respect for Josh if he thought, hey, I could improve my team by trading Ray Davis. But instead, his 12-year-old fantasy mentor over here came up with the idea. Josh's new co-manager this year. And they cost me a win. So hold on. Just so I can clarify, you're mad at the Falcon. Because the Falcon.

I have respect for the Falcon. I'm mad at the other two. Wait, whose team is, Matt, whose team are you on? He's on Josh's. Okay. So you're on the part of the team that improved your drafts for next year? Yeah. Where is the problem? So here's, here's the problem. Let me lay it out. The biggest problem I have is that they didn't start a bidding war and come to me and say, hey, we're going to dish off Ray Davis goes to the highest bidder and give me a chance to buy the win. That's okay. That would have been even smarter. You can be upset about that.

Why didn't you go to Josh and say, oh, crap, I see you have Ray Davis. You want to give him to me so I can block the other guy from getting him? Fair enough. Counter is in there. Now, to make it look, I would be big mad, but that's just because I'm going to make it a little spicier. Jeremy is a divisional opponent of Papa Josh's. So Papa Josh is improving his team twice. In theory, next year's draft capital and hurting his divisional opponent. However, you could argue he made a very bad trait because he didn't improve much. And he got rid of Ray Davis. He was awesome. Now it looks bad. Anyways, back to the game. Ray Davis was awesome. Yeah, he had a great game. He was great. Dalton Kincaid 6 for 51. It was fine. They can't connect on any big plays down the field. That's been the problem all year long. He's been open many times down the field. Somehow that connection has missed.

I would probably just hang in there. I would hang in there, but I will say this. I went back and I rewatched all of Kincaid's routes after the game, and I'm just not sure he's that dude. You know what I mean? We've seen Tray McBride just kind of take over from time to time, dominate, grab very difficult catches, break, difficult tackles. We have not seen, they need Dalton Kincaid. They need a wide receiver or a receiving option to kind of. really help this machine move, and it's not been Kincaid. It's been an amalgamation of all options. He had double the receptions of every other player on the team yesterday. Right, but 51 yards. I mean, most of what he is getting is like screenwork behind the line of scrimmage. Like you said, they're not connecting down the field. 51 yards on six receptions. Like that is, that's pedestrian tight end stuff. And the touchdown went to Dawson Knox. Yeah.

We had Garrett Wilson, 8 for 107 and a touchdown on 10 targets. Alan Lazard caught the Hail Mary, 6 for 114 in a touchdown. And the Jets and Bill's kickers had a tough night. Yes, they did. What was Mike Williams line? Zero for zero with a concussion. Ah, that makes sense. That makes a lot of sense. He was not good. He had a couple targets where he was out of sync, fell down on the. End of the, at the end of the game, which caused the interception. Cost him his job. And cost him his job. Speaking of which. News and notes from around the league. Presented by USAA Insurance. Well, well, well, the Raiders have traded away Devante Adams to the panicking New York Jets.

The Jets are taking 100% of his contract. I can't believe that. The Raiders get a conditional third rounder that can become a second rounder based on performance. And Devante's hamstring seems like it has vastly improved. He was already in New York this morning. He's in the building. And Mike said, did he teleport? I think he was there to show off his fresh hamstring. But. Let's talk about it all. He watched Mike Williams fall down. He watched Aaron Rogers say basically he called out Mike Williams for running the wrong route. And it's never been Aaron Rogers fault. And then Devante Adams boarded a plane and said, all right. I know what's about to happen. Goes to New York. This is, I think this is a great, genuinely.

a great move by the Jets. I really, really do. When you watch this offense, you've got Garrett Wilson chugging along. Alan Lazzard is, being Alan Lazzard is. Like, he's a good role player. Yes, he is. But he's not necessarily like the two at this stage of his career. This changes the offense. I think this improves the Jets' chances. I mean, they're two and four. They're staring at, you know, a tough road to make the playoffs, but they've got a good defense when they get their corners back. They should have a good offense with these weapons. I think this is great for Aaron Rogers. I mean, they should have had a good offense without Devonzi Adams when you have a top running back and, you know, Garrett Wilson and Lazard and Mike Williams. That's the counter argument is that, you know, how many pieces do you have to add before your competency goes up? They're three. They were three and three with Zach Wilson scored 113 points through the first six weeks last year. They're two and four with Aaron Rogers. They've scored 113 points this year.

I'm not saying it doesn't make them better at all. I'm just saying that this might not be the salve that the Jets keep throwing players at the problem and maybe the players are the problem. Yeah, I mean, you know that I've been kind of anti Aaron Rogers for a year and a half saying I don't think he is the same MVP caliber player. And I, you know, I still believe that. But watching the game, it really did feel like outside of. Wilson and Lazard, he didn't have an option to go to. And it felt a couple of drives where it was like when he targeted Mike Williams, they were out of sync. Mike Williams couldn't come down with it. And if you're telling me you go from, you know, you go from Mike Williams being the three to Lazard being the three, Garrett Wilson, the two and Devante Adams, the one, I really do think they'll move the ball. There are a lot of people that don't believe this move impacts Garrett Wilson to the negative. I don't understand that perspective.

Garrett Wilson has lived on volume. Even last night, you know, you're talking about, what, eight for 107. Wait, are you talking about the guy who, by a wide margin leads the league in targets so far this year? Yeah. Yeah, that he can't do that anymore. And so I put a tweet out saying that this is, you know, this is, it's good for the Jets, good for Rogers. I think it's good for Bruce Hall. And it's not good for Garrett Wilson. And then Mike Williams is dead. But how bad? But that's the question. Everyone came saying, I was like saying Garrett Wilson's dead. No, he's not dead.

He's going to be the wide receiver too. He's going to be okay. But the fact that this guy has been nothing but a target leader. I mean, he's literally in the amount of games he's played, he has more targets than anyone who's done that in NFL history. That's gone. And being the target leader, you know, 22 in week 5, 10 this week, that's a million. I mean, that's that's ridiculous. That's like a 300 target pace over those two weeks. The 22 is the outlier. But he was on pace for 187 targets in the offense, and that will change. And he will be a very valuable player. The question will be more like, you know, this is more like Waddle and Devante Smith category than it was the ability to be a top five, top six guy in the offense. He certainly won't be the red zone target anymore. Yeah, that's the big one. That's the main thing for me is it's like you're going to dice people up in the slot between the 20s.

But Garrett Wilson not getting it in the end zone. Do you get a lot of six for 61? No touchdown. You know, those type of games, I think, are more in the range of outcomes. And we're not talking about a player that has been tried and true, reliable every week dominator. This is somebody that's finished as the wide receiver 19 and 32 when he's had the role to himself. To me, it's just a change of expectations. He's now a solid wide receiver two. Yeah, which is great. Yeah, that's a very important asset in fantasy football. But you hoped, you know, what you saw the last two weeks was a top five wide receiver. Which is why I saw 32 targets. I wanted to trade him after the 22 target week. Yeah. That was the advice because of the fact that this trade was very probable. So he's still going to be a starter. I still think he's a top 20 guy. Yeah. Garrett Wilson. That's fine. And it is, I mean, like.

10 targets. It's just, what is this offense? What does this offense look like? Yeah, it's going to be a lot of Devante Adams. Well, I'm saying it was the, oh, we're going to, are we going to get back to the Jets defense and running? Sounds like Slice Stallone for a second. We're going to run the ball. You're Adrian. But it's like, or does this, or are we now high flying New York Jets? I mean, there would be a misuse of, of. assets and draft picks to bring Adams in and not be throwing the ball a ton. So I just, I think, I guess, I feel like we're all saying the same thing. Yeah, we are. I'm a little more of the optimistic side of. I think that like looking at the Adams will be the one. I'm not going to argue against that, but I think Wilson will be a really strong. Kobe Myers have games in Las Vegas all the time for the Raiders. So let's talk about Devante Adams because if we're saying, okay, we think Gary Wilson is the two.

And we think he's a top 20 wide receiver, which is not what you wanted, you know, in that 15 to 20 range or 14 somewhere around there. Then what is Devante Adams reunited here with Aaron Rogers as the red zone threat? Wide receiver 10 to 12. He's a top 12 guy now. Okay. Yeah. Is he with on film to me Adams was, he was still a great player. He just, he was dealing with. A hamstring. Well, I'm saying, no, I know the quarterback. Like Minshew this year, which it was okay. And then last year it was, you know, a ton of Jimmy Garoppolo and Dan O'Connell was just guys who couldn't get him the ball. So it, I think he's a top 12 guy. Where is Rogers on your radar? Because Rogers has not been talked about of like, oh, I'm going to pick up Aaron Rogers and play him. Well, he's had, like, Rogers, I thought, looked quite good. He's looked. Rogers to me this year has looked really good two times. And, but now you have Adams on here.

Does that jump up to now he's good in 75% of his games? Yeah, I think he's still a streaming option because he's a pocket passer. And so, you know, you look at like this coming schedule at Pittsburgh, I'm probably not going to stream him. First week back from Adams and getting involved later on, you know, a couple weeks from now when he's got Arizona and Indy, absolutely. He'll be in the lineup. The schedule. So it's on the road against Pittsburgh and the Patriots the next two weeks. Those aren't plus. But then Houston, Arizona, the Colts, Seattle, Miami, Jacksonville, Rams, Buffalo. Like, it's a good stretch. This could be a really, really good run for them after these couple weeks. Which is probably what catalyzed the willingness to trade, you know, a lot of assets and take on the money. Let me be clear, though, Devante Adams has not been, we don't know if he's playing this week. He's coming up the hamstring. He's acclimating to the roster and to the playbook. So we do not know that yet.

But we got, you know, it's exciting. It's fun. It's fun to see happen. I mean, Brock Bowers is the man now. Dude, that's the name I wanted to bring up. I wasn't going to let you move on before talking about Brock Bowers, who is going to be unbelievable. And the two games without Devante Adams, he had double digit targets each week. People are like, well, so is Jacoby Myers the one? Is it right? No, Brock Bowers is the number one target rest of season for the Raiders. This is a rare situation. I mean, you've got Travis Kelsey. in the past who's been the number one target for his team and like it is rare for a tight end to be their actual true number one target and rookie sensation brock bowers is going to be it which we just talked yesterday before this move about the fact that like if i had my money on somebody to be the number one tight end of year would be bowers already yeah i think it's bowers and um for those that took the shot on him late

And he was in that finalist, I wish I had pulled the trigger on him. We all got our druthers. On the my guy. We will take a quick break, come back with some other big news. Oh, man. This is another big piece of news. The Steelers are going to give Russell Wilson first team reps in practice this week. They're going to put him in line to start, make his season debut, despite the fact Pittsburgh is four and two with Justin Fields. You're going to get Russell Wilson Sunday night football against the Jets and maybe Devante Adams. Wait, is this, is this like confirmed that they are planning to start him? Yes, it's confirmed. Not start. Yes. Not just first team reps in practice, but like they're doing that so that this week he's snapping the football and throwing it. What is it? I'm just, I hadn't, I hadn't heard the news. This was brand new, but I mean. It says that he's going to make his debut and start Sunday night.

Who's got the report with that verbiage? And we have a quote from Mike Tomlin and says, sometimes it's not about what Justin has done or has not done. Yeah, Tom Pellasaro reporting. Well, he's saying, Steelers plan to give Russell Wilson first team reps. Putting him in line to me. But I'm saying that that's... He's going to get his shot. He's going to get his shot to start on Sunday night. That's the report. Would you do this? If I were them? Yeah. Yeah, you need more ceiling. Hmm. I would not do this. They did score 32 points in a dominating victory last week with Justin Fields rushing for two touchdowns. Yeah, it's fair counterpoint. But there's all, you know, it's where you want to go. Where do you want to go as a team? You think the Steelers of Justin Fields are getting through the AFC playoffs? No. No, I don't. No. And I don't think they will with Russell Wilson either. But you have hopes of former Russell Wilson. Like if he comes back to form of, you know, he was a what I thought was a Hall of Fame.

caliber player. It was long ago and it was far far away. That was years ago. I mean, George Pickens is great for Pickens. You have a pocket passer back there that can get you the, get you the ball a little bit more consistently. Prymuth. Wilson was going to, here's why this is happening too. This is the, you're not losing your job due to injury. They had declared Russell Wilson as their starter. He was injured. He did not get an opportunity to start. And let's be honest. I mean, this team's. predominant superpower is the defensive side of the football. I think they're just wanting to give Russell Wilson an opportunity to see where this team can go. But four and two, I mean, it's going to be criticized. That quote is outrageous. I'm so disappointed. Neither of you replied to it. Sometimes it's not about what Justin has done or not done. I got sidetrack trying to track down the actual talk about starting. But that quote is ludicrous. Like that's, hey, four and two starting quarterback.

Sometimes it's not about what you've done or not done. What am I supposed to do? It is, of course, what you've done and not done in the sense that like Brock Bowers when he or Brock Purdy when he was given the chance. It was about what he did. It was like, well, he's pretty good back there and we're winning games with him. I don't think you can't look at the four and two record and say the reason they're winning those games is Justin Fields. He's had some good moments. He has. obviously brought them to every single one of those victories, but it's their defense that is really the reason. What is Mike Tomlin doing? Now we're saying, quote from Mike Tomlin. Kyle, this is a quote, a direct quote. Okay, Mike Tomlin just now, quote, stats are often for losers. Comfort food when you're taking an L. Yes, Tomlin. I love this dude. I love Tomlin. He's the only coach. He's like the only coach out there.

that could say stats are for losers and I'm like, yeah, you're right. I just, Tomlin, Tomlin is, he's above it. So they won the first, just to look at the schedule. If you want to be more critical of it, we can talk about the fantasy implications. But they beat Atlanta 18 to 10 in week one. Then they beat Denver 13 to 6. That was Bo Nix. Then they beat the Chargers without Justin Herbert. Then they lost to Indy. They lost to Dallas. and then they beat a hapless Raiders team 32 to 13. That was a great win. But, you know, to Jason's point, I don't know how much of Justin Fields is, I'm winning you the ballgame or I'm keeping you in the ball game and they want to. Hey, we'll find out. New quote from Tomlin about whether Steelers had interest in Devante Adams. This is real. I'm not, this is not a joke. Quote, it doesn't matter.

I just love it, man. That one, that one's fine. Yeah, but he's just, it does it. It doesn't matter at this point. You know, there's no Tomlin coaching tree. Do you realize that for all the years that he's coached? There's, you got the Reed tree and the Shanahan tree and the, you know, the Belichick tree and the, you know, these coaches that these longs, there's no, there's no. I am the system. There is no Tomlin tree. It's me. Yeah, that's interesting. It's a completely different, like if you look at it, I look at Tomlin and Dan Campbell in the same thing.

That's the kind of, they're not schematic geniuses. They're leaders of men. Like Dan Campbell, you don't look at him and go, oh, you know, the play calling of Dan Campbell. I mean, if you know him for anything, it's like, yeah, go for it on fourth down. I mean, Ben Johnson will be a head coach at some point, so he'll have a chance at a tree. I don't know if Tomlin's had people that tried and failed, but. Well, it doesn't matter, he said. Yeah. To that question. So look, in my opinion, it's much better for. George Pickens, who's been an inconsistent disaster. Does it move the needle for Friar Muth to you to put him in a starting category? In a spot start category still. More of a keeping eyes on it. Yeah, I mean, we've been trying to get the Muth Luth for years now. That's fine. Yeah, I want the other Wilson there. I want Roman Wilson to come in with Russell and go Wilson. They need another player. They do need another wide receiver. If you're trying to get Devante Adams.
