Quick question of the day is dynasty related. It's something a lot of fantasy players are going through right now. You might have started your rookie drafts.

Or you're in the middle of one or you're about to go into one. And the question is simply what is one tough dynasty rookie draft decision that you've had to make in your leagues thus far? I know that I want to say you, Jason, you've been in three. Two right now. Yeah, two startups that I'm in the middle of right now. One just finished. Mike and I are co-managing another. And in that spot, this is, this is, this was really tough. Yep.

for me personally, we're at the back of the second, and we had to make a decision between METCHI and David Bell. And these are two good wide receivers. METCHI out of Alabama, the 44th pick in the NFL draft, traded up to get him, finds himself on the Houston Texans, which has, you know, great opportunity for a wide receiver to come in. But he's got an ACL tear, and I...

I didn't love Metri. He wasn't my favorite prospect. And on the other side, David Bell, 6-2-205, tons of production. Tons of production, early breakout age, doesn't turn 22 until December, didn't have the greatest athletic profile, but the way he plays very Anquam Bolden and finds himself connected to Deshaun Watson. So it was really, really, really tough.

In the end, I took the bet on probability of draft capital. So we went with METCHI over David Bell. Which I think I didn't have a horse in the race, but I think that's the pick I would have made. And I think METC is a very interesting prospect insofar as the injury, maybe stifling some of where his potential draft capital could have been. You know, he could have been a first round wide receiver.

late first round wide receiver and playing at Alabama. I think that's a tough decision. Yeah. And that is John Mechie the third. Yeah. To get full respect. Yeah. When we said Metschie, you might have thought the second. I think the most difficult thing or one of the more difficult things was I had a couple of third round picks in our main dynasty league, rookie draft. Single quarterback. Single quarterback league. And Malik Willis is just there.

He's just there in the third. And you're taking shots at Pierre Strong. You're taking shots at some of these wide receivers that, you know, you don't know if they're going to see the field and when they're going to see the field. And then you've got this tantalite. You still got the imprint of potential first round pick, Malik Willis. And you've seen all the comments with Ryan Tannahill. You know, I'm not going to, it's not my job to mentor him. But.

Like if Malik Willis does happen somehow, it's going to be very valuable for fantasy. Sure. So I ended up passing on him on both of my picks. And he did get drafted in between them. But it was just something that it was a really difficult decision. I went with the running back, Pierce Strong in New England. Right. But.

That was what I came up against is how far do you let him drop? And I think he'll be undrafted in some leagues. And like especially in a single quarterback, we were looking at Tannenhill's contract situation. I mean, they can always try and trade him. But if they, you know, if he's still on the team, it seems very difficult contractually for the Titans to cut bait from Ryan Tanyhill over the next two seasons and taking, you know, I know a third round pick is you're just looking for upside and all of that stuff. But holding a.

backup quarterback for multiple years is that's that's difficult those roster spots are valuable yeah it would really be tana hill has to play poorly this year and say i'm not worth the money he he costs uh 36 million dollars against cap next year now if they were to cut him they would still carry 18 million dead cap but that's still a lot of cap savings it wouldn't be that cut and dry literally it would be shopping

Tannahill in the trade market because you're ready to move on the team struggle. Derek Henry, maybe you're done. It would be something in a rebuilding fashion a la Matt Ryan being traded, I think, is the way that I would see him departing. But, Mike, what is your most difficult decision or one of the tough ones that you've seen? One of the tougher ones is...

What do you do with the tight end position in rookie drafts is always very difficult, aside from Kyle Pitts, where he was a top five pick in the NFL draft, but tight ends, they take time to develop. And this year, the best one on the board, you know, according to the NFL draft, at least, was Trey McBride, who was selected in the second round by the Arizona Cardinals. And the landing spot is very solid.

Kyler and Cliff, they are a pass-friendly offense, and that's who the offense is going to be run by for years to come with Kyler. He'll get an extension very soon. Cliff just got his. And you look at the, who do they have on this roster? Well, you have Hopkins who just got pop for PEDs. When if wide receivers are getting popped for PEDs in their 30s, that's not great. It's his...

Are we about to see the cliff hit for D'Andre Hopkins sooner than later? They're just not really loaded weapons. I know they got Hollywood Brown. And then Zach Ertz just signed a huge deal, but at the same time, Zach Ertz is going to turn 32 this year. And they can't really get out from underneath that contract for a couple years. But Tray McBride is so dominant as a football player when I'm watching him on film. He's just, he's very exciting.

But he's not going to be, he'll have little to no value if Zackertz is still healthy in playing this year. Well, the nice thing is, so Zachert's contract, it's basically a two-year contract. He's going to play this year and he's going to play next year because they're paying him a lot of money. After that, they can cut him and he'll be 34 years old. He already seems like he's 36 years old. Right.

But this is a player who had 125 targets. And tight ends usually take two or three years to come into their own. So it's one of those things where I think three years from now, Trey McBride, very good fantasy asset. However, it's a long wait. It's a long wait to just draft someone and hold on for a while. I know we took him in our league, but it was like we paired him with Travis Kelsey, where we know Kelsey's going to be on his way down, but he's going to be awesome because he's Travis.

You guys took train with Bryce? We did. Very nice. And so he's kind of our era parent a couple years from now. And the number two tight end off the board, who we just called Greg. Which is the best. Didn't go draft. Didn't get drafted in our dynasty rookie. I thought that was pretty wild. It was a consideration at the end of the third. It's just part of that decision making was, I'm going to have to wait two or three years for this player.

And maybe it doesn't even work, right? I mean, it cannot work for first-round tight-ins that get drafted a la David and Joku and Evan Angram. And you just wait and wait and wait and wait. OJ. Howard and no fan. Oh, all of them. Got it. Yeah. Basically, all tight-ins suck except for, what, two, three? Right. Yeah, it's tough. It's tough. We are going to do a two-round rookie mock draft next week. So all of you dynasty players get excited about that.

for the first time ever. And then Mexico City, the Cardinals in 49ers, Cardinals are going to lose an actual home game. And so they'll be in Mexico City and they'll lose one of their home games in Glendale. But sending Drew Lockaway overseas, it seems like something I'd want to do. I mean, you're not putting your best foot forward. The bucks are there. Well, that's true. They're going to really hype up the Tampa team. Who's going to be?

So they always put the player. Oh, the marquee? Yeah, so it's going to be Tom Brady versus D.K. Metcalfe. Yeah, that's probably the right call. There's a long list that you'd go through before you got to Drew Locke and that marquee. Also, that's November 13th, so who knows if Drew Locke is the starter by then? That's fair. He won't be. Baker Mayfield's still a Brown, by the way. I know. What are you going to do, man? How awkward does that get?

I mean, he's not. I mean, aren't you getting in there and working out? Some of these players getting in there and working out. I mean, he's not. He's not showing up for anything right now. Well, yeah, I know. He probably doesn't have any of the merch anymore. But if you're the Browns, that's got to be what you want. Assuming that you're going to have six games without Deshaun Watson, wouldn't it be better for you to have those six games filled by Baker? No. If I'm Baker, I'm not doing it. Right. I would agree with that.

Is it more like if Baker, let's say he has to. He wants the money, right? You're going to get paid money to play in those games. You sit them out. You don't get paid. Is it more of kind of a screw you to perform well? And then does he throw the, like the bird up at the coach? Or is it to perform poorly and tank it for the team? A professional athlete is going to go out. No, I'm talking about Baker. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
