Keep/Trade/Cut, Pump the Brakes, Wet Toilet Paper

He's not been a very good man. Well, we haven't seen much of an opportunity for Shady McCoy. Week one was really bad, like we said, and that's kind of set the tone. But then he was hurt. And as he's been recovering, last week he got a bunch of opportunity yet again. The offense is not going to be great. Scoring opportunities are going to be very low for McCoy. But he's still very, very involved. If he goes to Philadelphia, we were all really, really excited when JHA was traded to Philadelphia.

But he was still part of a three-back committee. There is no chance on God's Green Earth that LaShawn McCoy is not more valuable in Philadelphia where they score points, where they've got a great offensive line, where they move the ball, where his talents can be used, than they are in Buffalo. There's just no way. Even if he, I would rather have 60% timeshare shady in Philadelphia than 95% time share shady.

Shady in Buffalo. So, and, and, you know, my point is if he doesn't get traded and Shady just ends up this middling RB2, RB3 type of player the rest of the season, would you be willing to shop Shady now for those players that are like, oh, I want to buy him before he gets traded? Like people that are excited about the trade possibilities. You got to tell me what I'm getting back because I'm not trading with Sean McCoy.

right now. I think he's just getting going. He's going to be a valuable running back, even if he stays in Buffalo. So that's why I'm saying. It depends on who you are as a fantasy player, because on the flip side, are you then buying LaShawn McCoy? People are disappointed in him. He's back. He's healthy. Would you go right now and shop and try to say, hey, I'm going to go make a play, see if I can buy shady cheap. He's been disappointing. He's on Buffalo and hope that you get the trade. Sure. The first name that popped right into my head was if I have.

Alex Collins, and I can turn him into LaShawn McCoy, I would do that. And here's where people go, no one in the world would accept that trade. Just like people said that about, we were talking about David Johnson off his peak performance. Alvin Camara going into his buy, if you can make that trade. And people are like, nope, no one would ever do that. And then we're seeing. Oh, it happened. It's happening everywhere. Yeah, and it was a great move. Because our goal here, while we want to be entertaining and have a good time, our goal here is to actually help people win fantasy football championships. That's never lost. And we think the best advice, instead of putting three players in a group saying, who would you keep, who would you trade, who would you cut, which is much more fun.

We're taking a look at a player and saying, what do you do with this player? Do you keep them? Do you trade them? Do you cut them? Where are they? We asked the fuck clan. We asked you guys, who do you want us to discuss? And we came up with the list of the most commonly asked for I don't know what to do with this player names. And we're here to play doctor. You know what's entertaining, Jason? Hey, guys. Oh.

People have no questions about Cam Newton. I just wanted to do that. No, I appreciate it. I was doing this to my wife all morning. Booty scooting? I would just, uh, while we're getting the kids ready, I'd turn in the corner, I'd get in her face and I'd go. Oh, name number one on this list. Oh, we just talked about him in the office yesterday, Jason. Royce Freeman through five games. He is averaging 9.4 points per game. The running back 35.

And what we were talking about is that rascally Philip Lindsay's ruining everything. If he were not there, Royce Freeman would be destroying for fantasy football. But Philip Lindsay the rascal is there. And he looks pretty good. He's helping the team. Yeah, here's just an aside. We'll say kind of what we would do with Royce Freeman. But before that, I need to vent a little bit on Philip Lindsay because.

There's two things that are both true about Philip Lindsay. One, he's good. Yes. So I don't fault, you know, having him utilized, he's a good player. Two, he's not as good as Royce Freeman. Whoa. So, okay. What, why are you doing this thing where, look, a lot of times people think bad is the enemy of great. No, good is the enemy of great. Ooh. If you want.

to have great players doing great things. Stop letting good things get in the way. Philip Lindsay's a good player, but they're putting him ahead of the potential for greatness. And I believe Broncos, you've lost three games in a row and aren't doing so well. So get your act together. And that's coming off of Vance Joseph, looking at the film, agreeing with what I just said and saying, you know, we got to get Roy's Freeman the ball more. And then they come out and what they give him, five carries? Five carries?

Keep in mind, he got 31 yards, average a nice, healthy 6.2 yards of carry on those five. But let's give it to fill up. Now, good versus gray, good being the enemy of great. That's what I say to people when they're trying to give me a steak and I can eat a delicious cheeseburger. Oh, you shut, you shut your stupid mouth. So are you going to keep him or are you going to trade him? And it might be boring, but as a rule of thumb,

We almost never cut running backs because things happen. Guys elevate their opportunity increases over and like Thanos. Just snaps his finger. Boom. Guess what? You have a running back too instantly on your team who was completely unusable last week. Yeah, you thought he was a worthless superhero. Now he's one of the best left. Yes. So absolutely. You keep Royce Freeman. We will teach you over time to not cut running back. So.

But that said, Royce Freeman, keep or trade? I'm going to keep him because I do believe Royce Freeman has the talent, the potential to be great. And I don't want to trade him. If you're trading him, you're trading him low. Gets the Los Angeles? You're not going to get a lot back.

Here's some seemingly good news for Royce Freeman. Gets to the Los Angeles Rams. At home. Who just got gashed by the Seattle running backs. Arizona. Who gets gashed by every running back known to man. Yeah, you could put a 10-year-old child in at running back. Alfred Morris tore him apart after Adrian Peterson tore him apart. After Matt Bureita was tearing him apart, everybody. And then gets the Chiefs, which should be a higher scoring game. Interesting. So I'm a keep for Royce Freeman as well. Dionne Lewis.

Running back 37, averaging only nine points per game. He plays Baltimore this week, then the Chargers, which isn't so bad, but then a buy week. So one really usable game. Like I want Dionne Lewis in that Chargers game. Baltimore, he's going to be a questionable flex option that I would prefer to have on my bench and then a buy week. So one under the next three weeks. I could have also pumped the brakes on the Titans running backs. Sure.

But I don't want to play either Henry or Lewis this week. Lewis is a trade for me. And this is, you obviously can't trade Dionne Lewis as a one for one and try and get some kind of upgrade. It's not going to happen. But as part of a package trade, a two for one, I would like to move Dionne Lewis if I could. Now, let's talk real quick. Since we're talking trades, let's discuss what happens when you trade a running back for a wide receiver or a wide receiver for a running back in general.

in a vacuum. I don't like losing a running back without getting a running back in return. But there are plenty of teams out there where that's a great move to make. Because teams are really, really hurting for running backs every year. Half your league is just dying, saying they're filling up the message boards going, I need a running back too. I need one. I'm willing to trade X, Y, and Z. And they're searching for it. Dionne Lewis is a guy where you have.

You have probably already on your roster if you're doing well. You've replaced the need for Dionne Lewis. You've found someone else to flex in. And if you've got depth at running back, if you were able to pick up some waiver wire stars and draft well, then he's a guy that you could flip to one of those running back needy teams and get a wide receiver that is far more valuable at the wide receiver position than Dionne Lewis is at the running back position. But we need to just give that warning. A lot of times people say,

I'm stacked at running back so I can lose this running back for a wide receiver and we're like, oh, great. And then they come back and they tell us their running back core. And we're like, you're not really stacked here. If you lose this guy. Stacked is you have five running backs who could start on a given week. Four means that you're okay. Yeah. Three means that you're very shallow. If you've got three startable options at running back, never trade a running back for a wide receiver straight up.

Now, Brooks, let me ask you a question. Are these standard scoring? These are half. Oh, that's half PPR. It's really? Yes. Okay. Dalvin Cook, Vikings running back. It's only played a handful of games. Has been mediocre at best on the ground. Now, he gets it done through the air. That's what we like about Dalvin. But the hamstring issue, it persists. It continues on. How do you feel about Dalvin Cook, Jason?

I feel nearly identical to Dalvin Cook as I do about Leonard Fournette. I think they are star running backs who will be extremely valuable in the second half of the year, but they have an injury that is both serious and able to reoccur. So what I'm hoping, like if I'm the Leonard Fournett owner and I was able to get T.J. Yeldin, I am hoping that they do not play him.

until after their by week. I want them to... Look at the difference between what the Vikings have done as well as what the Jaguars have done compared to what the Eagles have done, right? Cory Clement has a little tweak in his quad. Darren Sproles heard his hamstring, and they've said, you're out. You're out multiple weeks. We're not risking you. And I'm far more confident than when those players get back,

they're going to stay healthy. Then I am with, hey, let's, okay, we gave them a week off, let's rush Delvin back, let's rush Leonard Fournette back, and it's scary. So, you know, I hope that both of these guys, Fournette and Cook, don't play this week. You hold them. You can't trade them. The only reason that you would trade Fournette or Cook is if you're one of those teams, it's one and four, you need to win. Yeah, I traded Leonard Fornett in our listener league, Leonard Fornett, and
