You're just like floating heads. That's all. Most of the time I am pale, regardless of the color of my shirt. Speaking of gloomy. Today is Groundhog Day. Yeah. And his shadow. And he saw his shadow, which means victory for Arizona, fellas. Why is that? Six more weeks of winter. Oh. Right. Yeah. We did it. It's only 70 degrees. Every single year, my wife gets excited for that because I guess in her childhood, that was a big thing. You know, the...

Punxatani Phil or whatever it is. Yeah. I'm sounding dumb while I say it. So she came in this morning and was like, what does that mean? We got like three springs this year or something. Like I have no idea. What's funny is there is a... We have one season. I wanted to check. Summer and summer light. Actually, the kids, they were very upset. It's Grandhog Day. Do we miss it? And I said, I'll check it. And so the first thing that comes up is this Washington Post article. But so, you know, Grandhog Day is just fun, right?

But here's the headline. Groundhog Day 2017. Phil says long winter. But he was wrong before he even woke up. Wow. Take that Phil. Meteorologist. Controversy. Stupid Groundhog. He doesn't know weather. It feels like Groundhog Day with the Patriots in the Super Bowl yet again. Oh, I like what you did. Welcome to the show. Today we have a great one. Wayne Gretzky, if you will. We have the 10 things to remember.

We just lost 20% of the audience. 20% of the audience is gone. You got to make a good Gretzky joke every blue moon. Ten things to remember about 2016. This actually is a really important episode. These are things you want to keep your mind on so that you don't make the same mistakes in 2017. Things that you should remember that may craft your draft strategy for 2017. A lot of things that we've learned over the years that you have to remember. Otherwise, you'll be thrown off.

You make mistakes. So we each have picked out three of our own. And then we have one as a group that we want to share with you. So that's the focus of today's show. We also have news. And I do want to mention this right off the bat. For those of you that are gamers, I know there's a lot of crossover from our listenership. Those of you that play video games and things like that, we did start a Twitch channel.

Yeah. But I will not teach you how to be better at the game. No, no. We've said this before. Jason is the guy who probably answer most of the questions because he'll have the respawn timer. Oh, yeah. That'll be going and he'll just constantly be in that respawn timer. He'll have a free mind. All right, quick question of the day, gentlemen. This one comes in off of Twitter at Michael 88 Morgan. He says, out of these four rookies, I love this question. Because I've read this already from when it came in, and I don't necessarily know the answer yet.

He says out of these four rookies who will have a sophomore slump. Ezekiel Elliott, Michael Thomas, Michael Thomas, Jordan Howard or Tyreek Hill. A report just came out. Two very positive Tyreek Hill reports over the past two days. First saying his snaps could double. And then Andy Reid basically coming out and saying, hey, look, he may earn a starting wide receiver spot. His catches may quadruple. He may be a starting wide receiver. That's really good for fantasy. When a guy finished 13th?

In fantasy at the wide receiver position, without being a starter, it is good for fantasy. Good point, Jason. Yeah, so you're not taking Tyreek Hill. Well, look, I don't think that Ezekiela or Michael Thomas are in consideration for me here. I agree. I actually do think.

that there's a chance Jordan Howard has a sophomore slump, and I think there's a chance Tyreek Hill has a sophomore slump. Yeah. So those are the two considerations for me. Which do you lean towards? I lean towards Jordan Howard, and I lean towards Jordan Howard more because of how good he was in his rookie year, how usable. Tyree Kil, sure, he finished where you say he finished, but the reality is he wasn't always started. He wasn't a guy that you plugged into your lineup week after week after week, even though you could have. Like, if you did it, you were all right.

But there wasn't the feeling, whereas Jordan Howard became this must start weekly running back. And I think he's going to be drafted. There's going to be someone that's reaching, you know, maybe the back of the first, early second round for Jordan Howard if things fall the right way in the offseason. And he has a much better chance of disappointing than Tyree Kill, who I don't think is going to be drafted ahead of the fourth. So you're qualified.

Your qualifier for the disappointment is the draft position versus, so risk reward. It has to weigh into it. A larger drop is, yes, is essentially what I'm saying. Yeah, I mean, you do have an example of this with a guy like Jeremy Hill who came out, set the world on fire. Everybody, oh, this is the new Marshawn Lynch. Look at that yards per carry and then disappointed. We have a much, much more recent example as well. His name rhymes with Schmodge Smurley. Yes, Schmodge Smurley of the.

I don't want to name names. Shmangelis shams. Yeah, no, another great example. You come out as a rookie. Obviously, we love the offensive line in Dallas, Ezekiel Elliott, the talent. Michael Thomas proved himself this year. High reception totals. This wasn't a flash in the pan. Is Drew Brees still there? Yeah, Drew Brees is still there. He's still good. So you would say Tyreek? I lean towards Tyreek Hill, but my caution on Jordan Howard is like Jason's saying.

I love Jordan Howard. I think he is a beast of a running back. But the problem is we have seen so many examples of running backs on bad teams. It just falls apart. If he doesn't have the gas to carry the team and his, what I love out of a running back, especially a first round running back, I want a guy who I know is going to catch the ball. And Jordan Howard, while he did, I mean, he had 50 targets. So, I mean, he's getting targeted. He had a drop percentage of 14%.

which is ridiculously high. So, and we know John Fox, his history was running backs. Is he going to say, well, I'm, I'm going to go out in the draft and I'm going to get me a scat back. I'm going to get a guy here who I know is more reliable in the passing game than Jordan Howard. So that would be a huge dent to his value in, in my opinion, for a first round guy. All right. Let's go ahead and jump into the news. News and notes from around the league.

Oh, Keel! Larry! Yeah. Larry Fitzgerald is coming back, which I would do if I led the league in receptions, if it were me. So told ESPN's Jim Trotter, he's definitely returning. There were tweets from Larry this morning that certainly affirmed that. Excellent. So Larry is back. There's all the questions surrounding Carson Palmer, which we'll get to here. But Larry and Carson right now are joining the hip. The most...

lines of thinking were that if one of them leaves the other is gone. And so hopefully one of them coming back and Larry ensures that Carson Palmer will be back. And that's not just for us as Arizona Cardinal fans, but for fantasy football, I wouldn't, you know, David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown, these guys, they need Carson back. To me, this says, if Larry has, he says, all right, this early, I'm coming back.

That means he talked to Bruce. He talked to Steve Kime, and they have told him, Palmer will be here, or we will go get Tony Romo. We're not going to have you come back. For a rebuild. And waste another year of just garbage when we have no chance to win. To me, that's what they said. They've promised Larry that they will have a starter caliber quarterback. This is a team that has had a top five defense in consecutive years. Obviously, they were in the NFC title game two years ago last year.

like Carolina, had a very disappointing season. But they are the type of team that can come back with a vengeance if the pieces are healthy. Pat McCaffey retired. That was a long moment of silence. I said that because, well, I tell, Jason. Because it's so bizarre? Well. So if you haven't heard the Colts punter, he's going to write for Barstool Sports. He's 29. He is. And he was the best.

He's a good punter. Yeah, exactly. He's not even a pro ball player. He's all pro. He is literally one of the best, if not the best. Did you call him McCaffee? Isn't it McAfee? Yeah, that's why I paused. Oh, that's where the pause. That's why I paused. He's an antivirus program. You put the wrong emphasis. So, yeah, I mean, he's great. Matt McCaffee. I will say this. I tweeted out, I think our main show tweeted out his press conference announcing his retirement, which was a very funny.

A little bit that he did, but it is crazy. It's real. He's leaving his multi-million dollar show up to football games and kick a football to go right for a blog. Yeah. Hey, man, he feels it. to Bob McNair. He said Bob McNair. She said Bob McNair said Osweiler needs to get better. Hmm. That's kind of important. Probably going to look at a young quarterback in the draft. Look, the implications of this news are just related to the weapons there, Lamar Miller and Nuke, who they want to give an extension to. But he's kind of trapped in that world where Larry Fitzgerald was trapped when John Skelton was a quarterback in Max Hall. Yeah, do you think he would sign it?

Yeah, you sign it because they're going to pay him. He's going to get paid no matter what. Yeah. Well, here's the thing. Osweiler doesn't represent a seven-year project to me. He represents like he's going to get it together or they're going to make a complete change. But then you have to go through that change of building up. That could be multiple years. He'll sign it. Players always sign it. I agree with a bandy. Larry did. Yeah.

And then it was reported by Indian Rappaport that the Texans are not a landing spot for Tony Rommel. Yeah. Financially does not make sense for them. So you guys want to start talking about these 10 things to remember? Yeah. Mike, who's got the first one? Jason. I believe I am kicking it off. All right. So the 10 things to remember. And this is, you know, we've been talking about this show for a while because we want to make sure this is the time of year where we still remember this year.
