Fantasy Football Podcast 2017 - 10 Things to Remember from 2016

I made mistakes on and I need to get better. One was romance. My romantic life with Greg Olson was not good. Weight loss is the second. So you guys see right through me. Weight loss is a genre now? It is today. No, but the two areas. One was injuries. I feel like I got it wrong on Jamal Charles. I thought he was going to be able to come back. I got it wrong on Jimmy Graham. So I want to remember the injured guys now and be more astute with that. But the other is...

the playoff schedules. I mean, who was not, who was worried about Aaron Rogers midway through the year? Well, I think all three of us might raise our hands, but definitely me, because you looked at that playoff schedule and it was nasty and he wasn't that great the first half. Yeah, the things did. So, so, Devante Adams. For the line of thinking. For Devante Adams and Jordy and Aaron Rogers, who were hot fire in the playoffs.

that a lot of people got rid of. And then on the flip side, you're Doug Martins and the guys that you need to trade for because they've got a good class schedule. Evans, Winston. Think about the previous year as well when people were off of Julio Jones because they played, you know. The Panthers, yeah. The Panthers twice. And it was fine in the playoffs. We've got to remember for next year that we can't overreact. And I think we always remember that in the draft season. Like in draft season, we discount playoff schedule. We don't care at all.

But midway through next year, I feel like we're going to care just as me too much. So hopefully we can remember. That's good. Number 10. Number 10, this one comes from all of us here. This is number 10. Remember what was wrong? That's not helpful. No, no. I'm going to take this one. This one's mine. Remember what was wrong with your league and fix it now. Fix it now. Fix it now. This is the time of year.

Whether it's bad rules, bad league mates, bad settings, you know, maybe where you're playing or how you're playing. Playing waiver priority instead of fab? Or bad communication. You don't have something set up that allows your league to communicate, announce trades, trade talk, rumors, those type of things. So if you have something wrong with your league.

now is the time to get things in line whether it is spelling out some of the rules that people argued about and didn't understand last year whether it's figuring out a better trade deadline switching your waiver priority to fab getting off of week 17 championships fixing your schedule stop it kicking out people that didn't play or ruined your league's integrity because they did not adjust thing can we get rid of mike

Right. Integrity-wise. Yeah, not he played, but his integrity is terrible. Oh, don't say that. Don't say that. Well, I could see it. I do. Well, now that you bring it up, I do remember this trade that happened with Calvin Johnson two years ago. This was like four years ago. This was like two years ago. You'll never let it die. Where I've spent literally half my day trying to trade for Calvin Johnson.

I decided to go to Mike for some advice and tell him not to do anything. And he goes home immediately in. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, you swooped in. To me fair, it was not, not immediately. We almost lost the friendship. It was at least a couple hours. Yeah, it was a couple hours. I'll tell you what, that evening we played in a flag football game together. And I didn't want to be near you to because it was like, ooh, there's some tension. Yeah, it was Calvin tension. Yeah. There was some C. All right, Mike, you're gone. Anyways.

This is a good time to remember to address those things with your league, as well as maybe you're in a league, you're not running it, right? And this is presuming you're running the league. If you're not running a league and it's not a healthy league, you can find a healthy league. Yeah, we had a ton of these leagues last year where people just, whether it was local or online, they got together, and then they had a good time playing in a league where people actually want to play. I still want to actually want to trade.

I still want the first marriage. I want it. Wait, you want a marriage? I want a marriage from one of these local weeks. Oh, that would be amazing. I want. If you get married because of that, you can come on the show. Yeah. We'll interview. And you better invite us to your wedding. Oh, yeah. I'll go. So the most important thing here, remember, get married to somebody who loves fantasy football. Yeah. That's the lesson.
