Choosing optimism about Thursday football overfills the half-full glass until water covers a messy kitchen. The spill is so large that only Brawny, not cheap off-brand paper towels, can handle it, though the brand is repeatedly declared not a sponsor.
The opening says all three hosts and the Deucers are in the building, then notices that the unusually large number of black shirts is slimming. The transcript never enumerates which crew members are physically included in that collective.
Recent dynasty deals give Brooksie and Papa Josh trade FOMO that mutates into 'phoma' and 'foam.' The hosts prescribe starting a stagnant league with one deliberately bad trade—taking one for the league—because two more will follow, and a new deal makes everyone crack their knuckles as trades go 'afloan.'
Never Not Working calls favorable remaining schedules the 'cakeiest walk forward.' The desk literalizes the phrase into trudging through icing and unstable sponge, then invents cake shoes that are simply forks attached to the feet.
Mike is asked whether he is hopping on the Gus Bus and whether he has his pass; the object is described as a majestic piece. The prior night's Spotify Live Room reportedly fired 22 Gus Bus drops. A nearby credit rendered as 'Matthew, Florida' is not securely attributable to Matthew Betz.
Brooksie is assigned Ravens updates and Kareem Hunt Watch, but the Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman update is explicitly credited to Al Borland instead. Ravens Watch closes almost immediately because the information is only about thirty seconds old. Later, Matthew Betz contributes a clinical explanation of Ezekiel Elliott's knee pain.
The London kickoff becomes a Folgers commercial whose best part of waking up is watching Russell Wilson, followed by 'Dangerous.' The hosts then dwell on Wilson doing high knees on the team plane, happily recounting it to reporters, failing to perceive teammates' reactions, and resembling Napoleon Dynamite.
The player discussion repeatedly mutates names and identities: Chris Olave becomes an Ole chant, Michael Thomas becomes a verb for sabotaging a situation, Greg Dulcich becomes Greg D and Greggie inside 'sending in the D,' and Raheem Mostert receives the health-qualified rhyme Rahim the Dream.
The Chiefs' Kadarius Toney trade breaks live and sends the desk searching for the breaking-news button. An unnamed dynasty roster sings in the streets, the first tweet briefly appears missing, and the hosts cross-check Underdog NFL, The Score, PFN/Fabiano, Jordan Schultz, and other reporting while asking for a transaction alert to calm Mike. Toney's 37 hamstring injuries are invoked before listeners receive a theatrical pause to check waivers. The League of Record check associates him with Gabe, and a family league's open waivers produce an immediate grab and 'What a turd.' The intervening 'Thanks, Jay' is unresolved and not evidence of Jay Griz.
An unnamed host calls starting DJ Moore a 'steel underpants play,' reusing the show's physical protection scale for a recommendation that requires extra confidence.
Jason's ironclad, locked-and-loaded, 100% guaranteed Boom Boom Kicker of the Week names Bills kicker Tyler Bass through a verse that pairs body 'hardy' with actor Tom Hardy. Mike is addressed as the desk objects that Hardy was rhymed with Hardy; Jason insists the words differ, and the Harty dispute survives to the final goodbye. The desk also previews the next day's Wheel of Shame, while an unlabeled host says he will not get shamed.
A prerecorded Hue Jackson introduction calls him the greatest coach of all time and startles the live desk. Thursday-night optimism then overflows its glass, floods a messy kitchen, and supposedly requires Brawny because cheap paper towels cannot absorb it. All three hosts and the Deucers are in the building, where the black-shirt count is called slimming. Dynasty trades give Brooksie and Papa Josh FOMO that mutates into 'phoma' and 'foam'; the hosts advise sacrificing one bad trade for the league, after which one host cracks his knuckles because trades are afloat. Never Not Working turns a favorable schedule into a cake walk so literal that forks must be strapped to the hosts' feet as cake shoes. The Gus Bus has a physical pass described as a majestic piece, and the preceding Spotify Live Room used 22 Gus Bus drops. Brooksie is assigned Ravens and Kareem Hunt watches, answers that he is watching, but Al Borland supplies a Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman update roughly thirty seconds after it exists. Matthew Betz later supplies Ezekiel Elliott injury context. Russell Wilson's London game becomes a Folgers wake-up parody before his airplane high knees and happy retelling of the stunt make the hosts compare him to Napoleon Dynamite. Player language mutates throughout the show: Chris Olave gets an Ole chant, Michael Thomas becomes a verb, Greg Dulcich becomes Greg D and Greggie, and Raheem Mostert becomes Rahim the Dream. The central live event is the Chiefs' Kadarius Toney trade: a dynasty roster sings in the streets, the desk briefly fears the tweet vanished, checks several reporting sources, asks listeners to pause for waivers, finds Toney associated with Gabe in the League of Record, and triggers an open-waiver grab in a family league. That last exchange contains an isolated 'Thanks, Jay,' but the unlabeled transcript cannot distinguish a short form of Jason from Jay Griz or another referent, so it is not counted as Jay Griz evidence. DJ Moore is a steel-underpants start, reinforcing the confidence-underpants bit. Jason closes with his ironclad Boom Boom Kicker verse for Tyler Bass, then argues that 'hardy' and 'Hardy' are different rhymes while the next day's Wheel of Shame is previewed.
On today's episode, we have a huge never-not working segment where we break down players that you might want to target for the rest of the season. Of course, hit all that injury news and we get into some matchups. And then, in the middle of the show, we get a big breaking news moment. Stay tuned. Don't miss a moment. Subscribe to this channel. You're listening to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome in. It's Football Time. I forgot. He scared me a little bit. I don't blame you because...
We've all been trying to forget Thursday night football. It's just been Thursday night. But tonight. We got a game. I hope so. We might have a game. We should have a game. I mean. I hope so. I realize, I realize that it's, it's dicey and there's ways this could go wrong. But there are ways this could go spectacularly right. Yeah, I choose to believe that's the way it's going to go. Let's beat glass half full guys. Yeah, this will be fun. I mean, Lamar Jackson, Tom Brady. Awful. Whoa. I like it. Water everywhere. It is overflowing. Messy kitchen. I need so many brawny paper towels. Whoa, not a sponsor. Well, no, regular cheap off brands can't handle this amount of optimism. Oh, my gosh. Not a sponsor. It would be great if it was, though, man.
Welcome in Thursday, October 27th, the fantasy footballers podcast. Andy Mike and Jason, the deucers are here as well. Hey-oh. There's a lot of black shirts here in the building. It's slimming. Right, right. Let's hope we get a good Thursday night football game. We've got matchups today, never not working, starts of the week, a lot to talk about the fantasy football world. We're moving into week eight. and the contagious world of trading has transpired in some of our leagues recently. Oh, yes. Yeah. When one team gets a trade done, you know, I think I heard Brooksie in the other office saying he's getting a little phoma with these trades going through in Dynasty. Oh, I could tell Papa Josh was getting phoma. Oh, Papa Josh was getting foam. Oh, yeah. You know, it really is. I'm here. I'm right here, Josh. Make me an offer.
People ask us all the time like, oh, my league doesn't do a lot of trades. How do I get it? And I think we gave this advice one time, but it seems like it actually might be true, which is if you want to get your leagues to start doing trades, just get one go. Just make a bad trade. Just go get one started because then it's like the ball rolls. Take one for the league. But then you'll have two more trades in the next day. Because in all the leagues we're in, whenever there's a trade that goes through, it's like.
Well, I know what I'm doing today. Cracked the knuckles get to work. Trades are afloan. Twitter at the FF Ballers. If you want to follow the show, we're on Instagram. Instagram.com slash fantasy footballers. It's time to get working. Never not working. Presented by Head and Shoulders, Scamp Shield Technology, available at Walmart. Well, speaking of trade season, this is the time where we are looking ahead, and this is the exact week. the exact moment in time where we have what I believe is the best data for strength of schedule, for schedule adjusted strength of schedule, where we have less than, you know, half of the year, but so much of the data where we can say we have a good grasp on what teams are good against which positions.
and what the schedule looks like going forward with enough time left for it to make an impact. So that's why today we are looking at trade targets not specific to player names, but to the remaining schedule left. And we're going to take a look at each position and say, here are the top three teams that have the cakeiest walk forward for fantasy point scoring. The cakeiest. You're going to walk through a layer of icing. It's going to be delicious. Okay. No, I'm in. I'm in with that whole explanation. I feel like walking through a cake would be difficult. Delicious is the word you're looking for. But it's just it's spongy and you'd be falling. It's like walking through the snow. Which can be very difficult. In fact, they have special shoes.
Just so you got your cake shoes on. I mean, I'm not saying you're just in your Nike's, but you know, you got your cake shoes on and let's walk through some cakes. So let's talk. They're just forks that I put on my feet. That's right. All right. So quarterbacks. Yes, best matchups. Let's start right with the juiciest, scariest thing on yesterday's show. We had the sleepers. And I toyed and toiled with the thought of this. this comatose sleeping quarterback. Russell Wilson. Unlimited. The Denver Broncos have the number one juiciest schedule for the rest of the season for the quarterback position when adjusted for the teams they have played. It is. It's really, really, really, really good. There's literally one bad week the rest of the time, assuming you have a week 17 championship. Can you?
I mean, he's on waivers, right? You don't have to trade for Russell Wilson. He should be on waivers. That's where he belongs. Would you pick him up and stash him in the hopes that you see what you've seen a couple times in Russell Wilson's career, which is he sucks for a while and is great for a while? Small change of language, not in the hopes of, but just in case it does happen. That's how I would look at it. I think there's still just a handful of weeks we've seen Russ in Denver. I know it's been cringy on every level.
But just in case I would keep my eye on if I didn't have one of the main guys. All right. We're going to skip to the number three schedule here first because it's a similar level of quarterback. Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers. Now the next two weeks are still not great. It's actually a bad matchup this week against the Rams and then they're on their buy. But after that, from weeks 10 through 17, that is a name you just need to be aware of because Jimmy Garapolo has low key been a top 10 quarterback the last three weeks. So weird.
And now he has Christian McCaffer to do stuff with the ball out of the backfield that will count towards his numbers. Justin Herbert, with the second best schedule to finish the year, should be getting Keenan Allen back, somebody to be aware of. That is the main name to me. It's the trade for target. If you get Keenan Allen back, obviously Mike Williams is going to be gone for a month, but they can withstand that. At the end of the season, Herbert is someone that you had to pay a lot of money for up front. And unfortunately, It has not worked out. He has not paid off on that draft capital. But if you can trade for him for less, and then he does work out the rest of the way, we saw that a couple years ago, Mike, you did this with Lamar Jackson. People paid up for Lamar Jackson in the draft. He sucked relative to the draft cost. You traded for him because of his schedule at the end of the year. Then you won a championship. Yeah, the quarterback schedule. It matters a lot. And so does the talent. So I think Garoppolo could be a nice streaming story.
If I don't have a locked in secure quarterback, I'm looking at Russell Wilson. I buy into the, I'm going to stash him just in case he turns things around. And the trade for Herbert, I think is also a good play. The best three schedules for running backs, Miami, Buffalo, and the Titans. So you're talking about Rahim Mostert, talking about Devin Singletary. with all of the questions of which game he's relevant. And then you're talking about the Yeti himself, Derek Henry. You're not getting him. No, but if you have him, you've got a big stupid smile on your face. Yeah, enjoy the upcoming schedule here. Mostard is incredibly interesting because it feels like, you know, the Twitter sphere, the fantasy football community as a whole is still not in on Mostard the way that we should be, where it's,
You'll look back next year and go, man, what a fantastic season that Rahim Moster had. How did we not get on board? Because Rahim Mostert. This wasn't the plan for the Dolphins. This should not be happening, but it is happening. And so I think you need to remove that name. And it might have been the plan. Well, what I'm saying, but it wasn't the plan as in free agency hits. They immediately give Chase Edmonds a decent contract. And then. Somewhere along the way, they sort of pick up Mostert for essentially free. So I don't know that it was their total plan, but it's happening right now and get on board. The reason that you might not want Moster is because you're afraid he's going to break, not because he's not good. He looks great, but he's not broken right now. And the next four matchups are Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, and Houston. I mean. Those are bottom five. Those are literally four of the bottom five teams. It's just you can't get better.
I'm very happy because I have him in a lot of places and my team feels different now than it did before because Rahim Moster looks viable. And like Dynasty, if you're a championship team making a push, I mean, you could probably trade very low for Moster because he is in Dynasty. He's an expiring player. So I mean, go offer like a third rounder and get Moster. Absolutely. I love that. Okay. So the three best schedules for wide receiver. The New Orleans Saints, oh, my. Olavi. O'le. O'Leave. O'le, O'le, O'le. The Cincinnati Bengals who are already catching fire with their passing game and the Los Angeles Chargers, which makes sense with the aforementioned Herbert scheduled. Those are three chockful of talent. Now, do you go out and think about...
Jarvis Landry and Michael Thomas? I was going to say Michael Thomas is the name. Not Landry, but you could take the shot at Thomas. He looked so good and then he's like, I'm going to Michael Thomas this thing. Yeah, I mean, I'm not excited to do that. You're not going to get Olave. No. Because he's already great. And you're not going to get Chase. No. And you're probably not going to get Higgins. So you could get Boyd. You could get Boyd. And that's still going to be a little hit and miss, unfortunately. You could look at that and say, well, the passing game is going to have a lot of success. And, you know, maybe Boyd can be a flex for you. And then the Chargers, you're looking at Keenan Allen. You know, people are, people who had Keenan Allen, if you didn't trade for him yet, you might be fatigued. You might be tired. You finally put him back in. He scored two points. Allen's somebody you could grab. And then you could look at Mike Williams while he's injured and say, hey, for the home stretch.
He's playing Arizona, Las Vegas, Miami, Tennessee, Indianapolis for five straight weeks in the playoffs. He's going to help win people championships. And I have him right now on my League of Record team. I have offered multiple trades with him in it because he's injured right now. And I would, I want to win now. I need to win games. So, yeah, I mean, you might be able to get him in another name that is worth picking up, probably on waivers because they're on by Josh Palmer because Mike Williams is going to miss a month. And the schedule coming up is great. Agreed. For Michael Thomas.
And he's missed four straight games. But remember, the first two weeks of the season, he was a top 20 fantasy wide receiver. So if he comes back, that's a very, very big F for Michael Thomas and what he has done to us for like three straight years now. But there's room. If he comes back, there is an opportunity for him to be one of those guys that just takes off right at the perfect time. Yep. And then for tight ends, you basically have Evan Ingraham. And the Chargers again, I mean, the Chargers end of season schedule is fantastic for the passing game. So you're- Carolina, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, the bottom three. Yeah, I didn't mention Carolina because. Yeah, there's no one there is going to make you tremble, you know. Yeah, Tommy. A little Tommy tremble. Let's just play in the Cardinals again. But Evan Ingram, Gerald Everett. Yep, those are the names. And here's the deal. We're using our tools.

News and notes from around the league. Presented by USAA Insurance. We've got matchups to get to, so I'm going to be very quick here with the injury updates, in part because, you know, we still have time, right? We have Friday. We have the Injury Blitz podcast, and we're going to get more information throughout today. The Rams, Darrell Henderson, it's an illness. That's why he didn't practice. Van Jefferson Limited could make his return this week, should make his return this week. And Kyron Williams.
designated to return from IR. Here we go. McVeigh said they may take the full 21 days to get him back. Yeah, you mentioned that he's not going to be there this week. Mac Jones will start in week eight. He's taken all the first team reps, 90% of them. DK Metcalf didn't practice. Unlikely that he plays. He's trying. Tyler Lockett's still limited with the handstring, and that's limited his production. A couple of bad weeks in a row. Debo, what are we hearing? Hamstring. Yeah, he did not practice. The San Francisco 49ers have the by week. It is a divisional matchup for them this week against the Los Angeles Rams. They have the buy week. So yeah, yeah, by week is the next week. This week is the divisional matchup. So Debo is going to push to play. But there is a world where he's not available this week. So be prepared. Alan Lazard Christian Watson, the Packers wide receivers. Lazard didn't practice. Watson is limited. Aaron Rogers came out and made headlines again by.
basically saying reps for certain players need to change. If you make mistakes, you need to sit and get other players in there. Christian Watson is a name to know. I mean, it's great to see him limited because he's been out of practice the last little while with this hamstring issue that has really bothered him from before the season and into the season. He certainly is someone that could make a splash at the end of the year. Logan Thomas Limited, Jehan Dodson didn't practice with the hamstring. You can't play him. And it's hard to know when you can again. And then Kareem Hunt, still on the Browns. We're on watch. So it could be a very interesting. November 2nd or 1st is the deadline? Yes, Tuesday. Mike Evans going to play tonight on Thursday night football. Rashad Bateman trending in the right direction, as well as Ronnie Stanley, which is big news for Lamar Jackson and having more time. Mark Andrews, though. Oh, man. That's a big deal. Mark Andrews, is this right?
Is this the most recent news we have? He's not going to play? Or not trending in the right direction? Yeah, we don't have anything official, but this is. Red alert. Yeah, it's very interesting. You're playing, or I'll just say, I, I'm playing Lamar tonight. Like, he's my quarterback in League of Record. I'm not saying, well, Mark Andrews is out, so I'm not playing him. I'm going to go find a streamer. But it really sucks and limits his upside of a matchup where the bucks are so depleted that this should. have been a Lamar huge bounceback game. It could still happen, too, if the wide receiver, like Duvernay and Bateman can get some work done, but it's unfortunate. I will say that if you need an emergency tight-in start this week, Kate Otten is not a bad one. No, he's not. He's been pretty good, and when he gets targets, he's been putting up a pretty good line for fantasy players. The matchup was good here for Andrews. If Andrews doesn't play, would you be willing to just pick up Isaiah likely?
I think it's worth a shot, but it's scary. You'd go aught and over. I would. I would. Yeah, they're like Evan Angram is probably on the waiver wire. Like there's other, there's other guys where I feel like I'm going to get a fine floor. And the gust bus questionable, limited at practices expected to be out there. Yeah. Are you firing up? Are you hopping on the gust bus, Mike? Do you have your, uh, he is got your pass? He is currently in, which, uh, shout out to Matthew, Florida for helping us with this. With this. This majestic piece, which hopefully you joined us for the Spotify Live Room last night because it was a lot of fun. There were 22 Gus bus drops last night. The questionable tag, it's not great. It's not what I want to see heading into a Thursday night. It's what Bateman has. It's what Stanley has. But it makes complete sense that, I mean, the team knew when they activated Gus Edwards to play Sunday and they gave him all those carries.
They knew they had to play on Thursday, and he was just coming off the injury. So I'm presuming that the team had a plan for the Gus bus to be just very limited in practice and then have him go out there again. Brooksie, let us know if there's any more Ravens updates throughout the show today. You got it. I'm watching. All right. Keep your eyes peel. Mark Andrew's watch starts now. Kareem Hunt get traded? Also let us know about that. Kareem Hunt Watch starts now. It started a few days ago. That was today's news and notes presented by USAA Insurance. Learn more at USAA.com slash insurance. Fantasy forecast. All right. Let's kick it off with the London game. We're back, baby. Oh, man. Set your alarms. You know, I've known the entire week. We've talked about it so much that this game is in London. But it wasn't until this moment that I remembered what that means.
That means an early, early viewing. You know how you wake up in the morning and they have those Folgers commercials and stuff where it's like the best part of waking up? Just replace that with watching Russell Wilson. The best part of waking up is watching Russell Wilson. Dangerous. Oh, thank you. Two and five, the Broncos. Their season is in trouble. Jacksonville's two and five as well. Hooray. Draft King's Sportsbook Line Jags minus two and a half. The overrunners 39, not even 40 points. The Broncos defense, number one against quarterbacks, number one against wide outs. You know, schedule adjusted. They're fourth against running backs. This is a great defense, which means that this is probably a very resentful defense because they should be better than two and five.
I forgot that I had placed an underbet on the Broncos before the season until just now. Oh, congratulations. Thank you. I think I'm going to hit that. Russell Wilson says he's going to play after the high knees on the airplane. And then KJ. Hamler came out and said, no, no BS. Yeah. He was actually doing it. No, there was. And then there was the. He did a press conference, or not like a conference, but he's talking to the reporters. And he's just so happy telling them all about his shenanigans on the plane. He just laid it out like, Russ, no one likes it. What's the, stop it. Do you think his teammates like him? No, no, especially when they're losing. I think that he's, he can't perceive any of that stuff. No, he has no idea. He's Napoleon Dynamite. I mean, he is.
He genuinely thinks everyone loves him. I'm trying to support you here, Russ, and you're making it very difficult. Well, let's talk fantasy here. Jason, I think you said it either on the Spotify Live show or yesterday during the podcast. You, you want to avoid Jacksonville offensive options outside of likely Travis ETN. Yeah, you have some options here with Krisha Kirk, Zay Jones, Marvin Jones of questions. I think someone will have a good game. I want to avoid them. I'm not sure where Patrick Sertan's going to be. I don't know if he's going to be on the outside on Zay Jones. If he's going to follow Krisha Kirk into the slot, I do know that there's going to be a lot of disappointment more so than fantasy output from the wide receivers. So that's where it's like if I can bench Christian Kirk and go to a different option that I think is. Did you play Mooney against Dallas?
Is that too low of a swap? I do think that's a little too low. I expect the targets to be there for Christian Kirk. And if I had to put a dollar on whether Sartan is on him or not, I would bet that he is not. Terry McLaurin against the Colts. Yeah, I would play Tara McLaren against the Colts. That's a good option over Krish Kirk. All right. We do have an update. Didn't come from Brooks, though. Came from Al Borland. Oh, Ravens Watch. Ravens Watch. Thank you. It ends right now. Mark Andrews and Rashab Bateman are both hopeful they'll be able to play tonight. Okay. Okay. That was a quick, quick update. I wish we would have had it like when we said the first update. I don't care. We've got it now. It didn't exist then. That's fair. That's 30 seconds old. That's fair. That's fair. So look, Mark Anders, if he plays, you play him. Yes. Mike's excited because he gets, he needs a target for Lamar Jackson. Yes, I do. I mean.
Lamar does. Lamar. Evan Ingram, though, this might not be the week. It's going to be a low-scoring game. Yes. It's going to be a game that you wish you stayed asleep for? They're traveling overseas to have the Jacksonville Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence, who has not been very good winnings under pressure. playing against a great defense that will put him under pressure the entire game. I cannot imagine that there's a ton of fantasy points scored from the Jacksonville Jaguar's side of the ball, or NFL game points scored for that matter. I mean, Travis E. T.N., he's a workhorse now. You're going to put him in. You're going to hope he gets a little bit more involved in the receiving game, but he's, you know, one play away from a good fantasy output at any point. The real question is, with Russell Wilson expected to play,
Can you throw Cortland Sutton in there with any confidence? Yeah. So no. I mean, nine targets last week. I think I stay the course with Cortland Sutton, even though it's been bumpy for a couple of weeks. I agree. Greg Dulcich, look, if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, I'm sending in the D. Oh, yeah. I'm starting Greg. I'm starting Gregie. And I'm going to bench Kyle Pitts. I'm sending them in. Yeah. All right. Okay. And then Melvin and Latavius last week, 11 rushes for Latavius got the goal line touchdown. Melvin had 15 opportunities, just 50 total yards. You know, it's flip a coin for which mediocre performance you want. Yeah. I mean, I think Andy and I stand on slightly different sides of this. I would put Melvin Gordon in above Latavius. Would you do the opposite?
By a whisper. Yeah, but I do think that they're okay plays. I mean, the Jacksonville Jaguars haven't been great against the run. Mike Boone's on the IR. That's a huge deal for both of them. Yeah, because you're going to take a couple of targets and a couple of carries and give them back to Gordon Latavius. They're okay starts in the flex, but don't put them in your flex because they're in London and put them in your running back spot. Which is a good reminder for tonight as well. Yeah. If you have somebody playing, play them in their positional spots that you have.
flexibility for some surprise practice injury that may or may not happen. All right, let's move on to our next matchup, but first a quick break. Well, let's stick with two and five teams here. Carolina taking on the Atlanta Falcons, who are three and four. The drafting sportsbook line Falcons minus four, the over under is 41. Yeah. Andy's almost upset of the week. I like it. It's just punitive. against Arthur Smith. But now Carolina, I mean, their defense is good enough to stop Atlanta. Yep. And Atlanta is stubborn enough to be stopped. So I will go with Carolina going 2 and O after the departure of star players. Which game ends first?
