A fantasy footballer's podcast coming to you from the fantasy jocks.com studios with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Do you guys know they're making a remake?
Of a Disney classic. They're remaking all of them, but yeah. No, live action. Yeah, that's what the... Do you see the... Beauty and the Beast. It's a Beauty and the Beast kind of weekend, is what I'm saying. There was beauty and there was Beast. There are as many people who are so thrilled about their exciting victory into the playoffs as there are, people just so angry.
at their close heartbreaking defeats. It's always that way, right? Every time someone makes the playoffs, it pushes someone else out. It is always, I think, correct me if I'm wrong, if you have a different perspective, always worse to lose when a guy underwhelms for you than when an opponent's player goes off. Yeah, I would say that. Because you are expecting a certain baseline for a guy, maybe a Drew Breeze.
and when they don't perform how the paper tells you they're going to perform, it is so disheartening. And, you know, we're going to share some bad beat stories today. We're going to share some good stories. I'm going to share a quick one from last night. This is what makes fantasy football great and horrible all at once. In fact, somebody sent the meme across to one of our leagues that just said, the only reason I'm watching this game right now is because of fantasy football. And that's true.
That game was terrible. The game was terrible, but it didn't seem terrible to me because... It was super exciting. We had a situation in one of our leagues where the bottom... So the last place person in our league, you've heard us tell you before, they get the punishment of being soaking wet on draft day. Okay? They have to spin the wheel of water for every... I want to also emphasize this. If you've never been in Arizona in the summer, you think, oh, well, that sounds delightful.
Here's the problem with Arizona in the summer. Everybody, everyone overcompensates inside with air conditioning. It's freezing inside. You're inside. Once you come and say, like, oh, that's delightful. It's so cold in here. About five minutes later, you want to bust out the jackets and the pants because it's freezing. You're absolutely right. And one of the people that could get watered was my brother-in-law. But his odds of being watered, being last place, were improbably long. He had to have.
Matt Forte not scored 10 points, and Andrew Luck had to score 40 plus against him. Only if Matt Forte scored 11, he was safe. If Luck scored 38, he was safe. The stars aligned in an inconceivable beauty.
and my brother-in-law is going to be drafting soaking wet. I thought for sure it was three different people last night. It was like, oh, this person's going to finish there. Oh, no. Andrew Luck has scored enough. This person's going to. When it landed on your brother-in-law, it just made me so happy. It was. It was just a beautiful thing. So funny, lots of stories from last night, lots of bad. Mike, you have your own. I mean, you're by week. I lost the buy week by a yard.
Not just a yard. Literally one yard. Zero point one point. So you could still be stat corrected. Yeah. And I also watched T.Y. Hilton drop. That's what I was going to bring up. The T.Y. Hilton drop, as I put it up on Twitter, there was many who were with me in the same boat. So it's not just me on an island. I know there are many of the footland who are feeling the pain of that TY drop. There were also a lot of people who played a team that had Gronkowski.
and thought it was a benefit that Gronk was out against them, and those people picked up Dwayne Allen. But we're going to get into some of those here in lieu of a quick question. Otherwise, we've got the waiver wire on the show today. We've got news and notes. We have our streaming quarterbacks for the week 14 playoff matchups. Playoffs? Yeah, yeah. So lots going on. Jets are going to use Bryce Petty rest of the season. Hooray for no one.
Unless your name is, what? Anderson. Anderson. Sixteen targets or something like that, 12 targets? I think what it is, is just 100%. That's his target share. And speaking of baseline, I mean, there's something that has to happen here. I'm talking to you, Andy. Moncrief. Got in the end zone again, five straight. Five straight games for Moncrief. Can't put up any yardage.
Has no ability to put a guard. Who cares? He scores touchdown. 26 yards in a touchdown. And the truth, I had, we had some people ask us, oh, Moncrief for Marshall. Who's got the better chance of the big game? We all said Marshall. Well, the big game is Marshall because Moncrief, like you just said, he doesn't put up, you know, much more than 50 yards. He's a touchdown dependent option right now. Marshall, I mean, look, it was all about Ryan Fitzpatrick. He was terrible. Ryan Fitzpatrick is the key that unlocks the chest. That is Brandon Marshall for your fantasy playoffs.
And it's been locked and thrown away. And now Bryce Petty's out there. And who know? I mean, if you're New York, you want to see what you have in Robbie Anderson. You want to see what you have in Spiller and in Petty and Petty and Petty and Petty. Sparion Jenkins. Like that's what you want to see. You don't care about seeing what you have in Marshall. Yeah, it's going to be a train wreck. Bryce Petty swallowed the key. He's like, I swallowed it. Yeah. Well, on his third throw. I'm just going to throw this out here. I won't be shocked if Brandon Marshall retires.
Huh. He's totally enamored with the... He has a second career lined up. Just saying. All right. We're going to go round robin through some of these bad beats here. Oh, no. All right, bad beats from week 13. We asked you guys to share some. Sometimes it's cathartic to share your pain. You need some people to understand what you're going through. Yes. Mitch Davis said he lost and missed the playoffs by 0.1.
Because of the Hilton. See? And Cabernick. Cabernick and the Hilton drop. Mitch Davis. I'm with you. I'm with you, my friend. All right. All right. At Grimmer Brian. Is that? You got it. You got it. At Grimmer Brian. Up by 45 with Moncrief. Moncrief left to play. He only has luck and Dwayne Allen. Easy win, right? What? Oh, man. Six touchdowns.
You know on the other end of all of these, there's some rejoicing hooligan. Yeah, exactly. Where he's like, oh, I got no chance to win. I'm out of the playoffs. This comes from the R. Pig. I was up 20 points before last night's game with Gorman Moncrief to go. Look, Alan. This is much like the Jordan Reed Kirk Cousins stories of last year. All right. Devin Kaysen says he lost to a three and nine guy. Oh, no. Who didn't start a quarterback. No.
And now has no playoffs. He only needed 0.4 more points from Forte. Oh, no. In someone else's matchup to get in. You know, Bryce Petty threw a screen pass. That one hurts. To Forte. They got tipped. It was like the Hilton play. Oh, Devin, that, that hurts my soul. Yeah. Yeah. This is at Johnny Stromo 24. All he needed to do was win to make the playoffs.
His entire team did not score a touchdown, including his wonderful quarterback Colin Kaepernick. I'm sorry. That's brutal. That is a brutal beat. All right, Mike, you got another one? We got Jay Crozier traded future picks for Greg Olson and Jeremy Macklin when I was five and two. Jason, is this you? He also said, hashtag tears are useless. Tears are useless unless they count for fantasy points. Let's see. What else we got here?
We have, oh, you know, my guy Kobe Fleener. This one benched Fleener for the first time this season. The first time finally did it. They started McDonald. And I started Fleener. And he started Fleener. He would have won by half a point. Thankfully. Thankfully, that was just for the first round by. So he's still in the play. Now I, look.
Our set is falling apart with the sadness. We got to get to some, we got to get out of the sadness. We got to move to some positivity. Yeah, I am going to read this one. This is a little bit. If you need some positivity here, there are people out there. I know a lot of you won, by the way. And congratulations on winning. Andrew Luck got me a win yesterday. That was an incredible performance. I needed, I was down 67 points in my matchup with Rawls and Luck left.
That doesn't happen very long. That's a loss. So this one, Mark in New Jersey wrote and he says, I want to thank the three of you for your insight during the podcast and YouTube videos. Listen to this. And this is why we say, keep listening. He was two and six and throwing in the towel. And then he heard our podcast talking about two and six not being the end of the year and always play the waiver wire. Ran the table, ended seven and six with the five seed. He says no matter what happens in the first round, he's going to be thrilled with making the playoffs.
He has a successful season, and he will continue to listen in the offseason. Love those stories. And, yeah, hopefully now we can talk to the majority of our listeners here. It talks of playoffs. That's why you got to stack your team. You can't let one guy destroy you. You got to. And you know what else? This proved to me, and I saw this in the battle for last place in our league. Week three, the points you score. Week five, the points you score. When the tiebreakers total points scored at the end of the year, that makes a big difference in your seating. It makes a big difference in your...
Uh, everything. Punishments. Punishments. Yeah. All right. Let's get into the news. News and notes from around the league. All right, Mike, should we be worried about Julio Jones? Speaking of good news, Julio Jones diagnosed with turf toe, but is expected to be okay for week 14 against the Rams. However, it's possible he will be limited. We've seen Julio Jones with nicks and bruises and scrapes and cuts. Have we ever seen Julio without those? Uh, yeah.
A couple times. Every once in a while, he's 40 points. He's fully healthy. But he only played 47 of 73 snaps last week. I will say this. The last time we saw Julio Jones be limited and you thought, well, Julio Jones get out there. He said, no, I'm going to take the rest of the season off. So for this to be turf toe, I'll deal with it.
We'll live with it. John Brown is going to remain on a 20 snap limit for the Cardinals. Does he have any dynasty value anymore? Yeah, I think dynasty value he does. And the reason I say this is multifaceted. He's the type of guy that I put on my list of we need to remember why things happened this year for next year. Because if he's able to get the sickle cell trait under control, which he has not been able to do during the season, he is a great player. He was my guy coming into the year.
