I agree. Makes Jones a tremendous value. Yeah, I don't think anything's changed from how we viewed it from the beginning. You've got a guy who can compete for the number one. Do you expect him to win it? Probably not, but to emerge is great. All right. Let's talk about Blaine Gabbard. They say, well, they, right? The San Jose Mercury News is Tim Kawakami. Nice. Got through it. Nailed it. Calls Blaine Gabbard, the enormous favorite to start week one over Kaepernick.

I looked at this news. I looked at, I looked inside. I looked at my thoughts about this because I've stated Kaepernick as the starter, and I'm standing by that. I think what you're going to see is you're going to see preseason games, and I believe that the athleticism and skill of Colin Kaepernick will simply outpace Galbert in that preseason, and he'll still win the job. Therefore, I am sticking by my opinion.

That is interesting because when this news came out, obviously I haven't been around you guys for a couple of days. Thank goodness. And I was looking into this. And the argument is really that, you know, the GM is really the, you know, the guy who's running everything. He's got his hands on everything. And that, you know, Kaepernick was the old regimes guy. Right. Jim Harbaugh's guy. Right. And Blaine Gabbert. But I was like, wait a minute. This is Chip Kelly's team.

Like, I don't care. Chip Kelly's not going to a team to say, yeah, I'll let the GM just do everything. He can run the show. That's not going to happen. He's going to put the guy he wants out there. And I got to the same point where I agreed, I think it will be Colin Kaepernick. Yeah, I still think that it'll be Blaine Gabbard with the play. I mean, look, recency bias. Maybe Kaepernick can return to form, but he was abysmal.

last year where Gabbard played the best football of his career down the stretch. Bruce Ellington listed as a starter in San Francisco. You need to pay attention to him because this offense will call a lot of plays. They will be moving quickly and the ball, I can promise you, will not only be caught by Tori Smith in that offense. Vance McDonald's the starter there too. We really like McDonald's this season, but Bruce Ellington needs to be paid attention to. I'll say the McDonald news is wishy-washy.

With Bruce Ellington, you saw last year in a Chepp Kelly offense, Jordan Matthews was great out of the slot.

And Bruce Ellington has been a player who you've seen things from. And you go, oh, this guy, if he gets the opportunity, if the offense is good, which I don't expect San Francisco's offense to be great. But with Chip Kelly, you know there's going to be volume there. You don't have to be a great team to get value out of the wide receiver position. It's definitely a name to monitor. The New Orleans Times reports the second round wide receiver Michael Thomas has looked like a bona fide playmaker this summer.

Look, this is a second round wide out in a Drew Breeze offense that has the ability to make plays like Marcus Colson did. But maybe not right out of the gate. Yeah, this is just great news to me for Drew Breeze because you go, okay, well, that's probably better for Breeze than it is Thomas even.

Yeah, I mean, I mean, this is, it's good to know that Michael Thomas has been doing great and can play that role. I don't necessarily think it hurts Willie Sneed. I see kind of that third wide receiver role between Michael Thomas and Brandon Coleman. So this could hurt Brandon Coleman. But regardless, I think the news is just Drew Breeze has a lot of really good weapons. I mean, you've got Brandon Coleman, who is all right. You've got Michael Thomas getting rave reviews. You got Kobe Fleener, Willie Sneed, Brandon Cooks. That's the highest.

Instead of having the tight end position, we instead are just using an additional flex spot in our lineup. Does this change where you draft tight ends not named gronk in a half point league? Yes. Yes. Very much so. Because in most of my leagues, I grab.

a tight end because i play a tight end um if you're talking about you know late guys they're not going to score as as much as wide receivers so generally speaking you're going to play guys like gronk and read olson um you know those guys

They'll be drafted. They'll be started. And then you can find value depending on how deep the league is and maybe you need a high upside touchdown guy for a game. But for the most part, I'm going to be rolling with a wide receiver I trust more than a tight end I trust who, you know, you really are banking on a touchdown with a tight end. You know, it gets four or five targets versus that wide receiver that I can find almost off of waivers that's going to go out and get nine targets in a game.

Yeah, absolutely. I was just trying to look up some points here. So the number 12 tied in last year, this is standard, was Jason Witten, and he scored 87.3 points. So you go down, the wide receiver scoring around 87 points would have been Kenny Britt, the 51st wide receiver. That's pretty much all you need to know right there. The one guy that I would think about is Antonio Gates because he's going so late and probably...

I think we'll be in the top six at the tight-in position. So then you're talking about actually contributing points-wise? Yeah, the top half, so one through five of the tight-ins last year scored at least 150 points. So there's some value there. But there's just like Jason said, anybody after that, there's why? They're not going to score as many points. All right. Michael in Pennsylvania has a PPR redraft question. Help him decide. David Johnson.

AJ Green in the first round. That's a very tough one because the question getting asked a lot, you know, okay, I'm at number four, I'm at number five. The big three wide receivers are off the board. Who do I go with? I'm in PPR. And I always throw out these two names. I say take AJ Green or David Johnson. And I think that when you break it down, it's a matter of how do you play? A.J. Green, I think, is very safe.

As far as a PPR wide receiver, I think he's locked and loaded top five guy with the top three potential. Wouldn't surprise any of us if AJ Green ends up in the top three. While David Johnson, there's risk involved. We have a small sample size, but David Johnson's ceiling to me in a PPR is the number one overall running back, which is a huge advantage to your team.

Yeah, and I think it's clear I am the risk averse first round guy. So to me, it's A.J. Green by a mile. I'm looking at a guy who has literally never, once in his career.

Had less than 1,000 yards. And 60% of his years, he has double-digit touchdowns. Three out of his five years, double digits. If you look at our top 200 in the ultimate draft kit for a full point per reception league, we all have AJ Green slot it in as the number four overall pick. We have David Johnson as the consensus number eight. I have them the closest. I have them four or five. But we all agree.

The AJ Green's the better pick here in a full PPR league. So that's the answer to that one. Auction keeper question from Brian M in Littleton, Colorado.
