Hey, this is Darren Waller, tied in for the Las Vegas Raiders. I am the Waller's, and you are listening to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. Go, Goo Goo Coo! To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. Goo, Goo, Gajube, indeed. It's a whole lot of go, go, go, gooo, but on the field last night. Yeah.
Yeah, and you know who really, really loves Darren Waller? Darren Waller? Well, I mean, we're all supposed to love ourselves. Derek Carr? No, Chris Collinsworth. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's in love.
Yeah, I heard him say those kind words. Yeah, I mean, every single play he made, you got a whole diatribe on how athletic he is and how fast he is and how surprisingly fast he is. All due respect to Travis Kelsey, but that guy sucks compared to this man among boys. I guess we had all the good tight ends were in one game. All both of them. It's funny because that was the fantasy football community last year.
Like before things really got heated up with Darren the walrus. Yes. We're all like, holy crap, look at this dude's vegetables. If he gets the opportunity to eat as he should, it's going to be great. Yeah, no question. He was, he was awesome. Oh, yes. So welcome to the bandwagon, Chris Collinsworth. Get in the back.
We're driving. I love it. I love it. That's true. He was a featured UDK sleeper before he was, before anybody knew him, before anybody else knew him. We were the only ones who called that. Oh, no, no, no. Thank you for joining us. It's Monday, November 23rd. We do have a Monday night football game coming up. More football. I noticed that since the time change happened, I'm getting a lot more of my wife seeing me watching, you know, the Sunday night games or something on my phone and saying,
There's still a game on? Because those are going longer into the night. But it was a fun weekend. It was an exciting one. We saw Tassum Hill on the field for the first time as a quarterback. And he looked pretty good. Not too bad. And we do have our Monday, Punday one liners to reflect on this fine week of fantasy football. Yes, I will start this one with Clyde Edwards. Hello!
Uh, Jason, go ahead. Leaning Allen. Uh, Mike Thrilliums. Oh, and yes, Travis Dolgum. Yeah. Matt crying. Matt crying with no Julio. Every time. It's like Julio's good. Uh, Darren Baller. Uh, and this one doesn't make much sense, but...
Justin Scherbert? Sherbert's delicious. Yeah, Sherbert's good. Justin Shurber. Who doesn't like Sherbert? Jason, you want me to take this one? No, I got this one. I'm in the casket. Holly Woof, Brown. Buzz, your girlfriend. Woof. Uh, Fadrian Peterson. Oh, yes. Pua. Pua. Tung of Viola. Pua.
Why are we doing that to Portua? Because if your name can get close to... Oh, I forgot he got benched. Yeah, he got straight benched after his 83 passing yards. Yeah, they replaced Pua with Fitzcraptery. I like it. I like it. Try it out for size. Do we know definitively if that was a benching or an injury? Yeah, we know definitively it was a benching. There was no injury to Tua. Flores came out and said...
He felt at that time of the game, Fitzpatrick gave him the best chance to win, and it's true. He did. I mean, they were very close. Tua was getting, you know, out-schemed. He had six sacks at that point, and he had only passed for 83 yards, and they were down by double their score. So if you want a chance to win the game, it didn't look like it was going to be Tua. I'm telling you, it reminded me so much of years ago the Cardinals had Matt Liner, who they drafted at Pick 10 or whatever it was, and he would start games. And then when they needed.
some sort of jolt. They'd bring Kurt Warner in for these two-minute drills. I will say that does not speak well for the future of Tua, because that didn't work out for Liner's. No, and Liner was left-handed, so obviously the comparison is perfect. It's perfect. But that does mean Fitzpatrick ends up in the Super Bowl. Right, which and Hall of Fame. We all win. If Ryan Fitzpatrick is in the Super Bowl, we all win. It is.
It's just tough. Like we were talking about what's your best chance to win the game versus what's your best chance to maintain confidence of a young quarterback where, look, you don't want to looking over his shoulder every time he makes a bad pass or a bad read as a rookie, which is how it's going to feel unless there was a very transparent understanding between the head coach and the young quarterback. I think the confidence.
question, the confidence issue of are you going to hurt your quarterback's long term? I think that's overblown. I think that's more media than reality. If you're a really, truly great quarterback, if you are going to be, if you're going to have a great career, a benching is not stopping that. If anything, it's going to propel you forward to that. I can't imagine that, you know, if, if, you know, if, you know, if Peyton Manning got benched after a couple bad games, oh, his career is just going to fall apart.
Correct, but now if Tua doesn't pan out, we can blame this, right? Right, for sure. It's 100% because of the binging. All right. Jason, we had some very exciting water bets, so I just wanted to go over the results there. We bet Matt Breda versus Salvin Ahmed, and I won that bet. You won handedly. We got a notification early in the first quarter that Ahmed...
is questionable to return. I was like, yes, because I lost as soon as the first snap. I mean, that was really what the question was. Who's the starter? And it was Occman, for sure. It wasn't breeder. So you win that one. And then you won the second bet. But it was a, it was a good bet. Mike Williams ended up four for 72 in a touchdown.
Rashad Perryman ended up two for 54 in a touchdown. They both had good games. Which is the way I'd like the bets to go because if somebody likes you more and goes your direction or likes me more and goes my direction, you both were happy for fantasy football. That's why I benched them both. All righty, all righty. And that's what you get. That's what you give for not playing Perryman, Mike. All right, let's get into the rewind. Weekly rewind. I benched them both.
I love it. A zinger. That was a zinger. Very nice. A old pistol over here. He's a real pistol. Joe, I hear Judge Giamatti chuckling back there. Joe Mixon placed on IR ahead of week 11. This was news we didn't get to talk about on the show. It was a bit ironic because on the show we're like, well, if they didn't throw them right back on IR, it must not be that bad.
And then they threw him right on IR, so it is bad enough. They're not going to let him play until he's 100%. And what that means is that the earliest that can be now is week 14. I think we may have seen Joe Mixen for the last time for this year. Well, I mean, considering the next bit of news, Joe Burrow suffered a torn ACL. It has been compounded now. Yeah, it's really burying the lead. I mean, this could be the biggest story of the week, not so much fantasy-wise. It does certainly hurt.
the trifecta of wide receivers. It really hurts T. Higgins and Tyler Boyd have been weekly starts, and I don't think you could do that anymore with confidence. But Joe Burrow going down, a torn ACL, done for the season. Devastating. It's so sad because this is a young man who just looks outstanding. He's got a very bright future. Yeah, and it hasn't been smooth sailing for Geo as the backup to mix in either. So kind of a Cincinnati problem right now.
All right, Kyler Murray, you saw him on Thursday night, diagnosed with an AC joint sprain. Not expected to miss any time. So that's good news if you are a fantasy manager of Kyler Murray. All right. Rex Burkhead, knee injury. Is that ACL confirmed? I don't know if it's confirmed. That's what the concern was. That's what it looked like on the field. It was a...
Very apparent to the players right away that Rex Burkhead was really hurt. Some might get the news that Burkhead is likely out for the year and say, well, this is good news for Damian Harris. I actually don't view it that way because with Burkhead out, Sony Michelle had been activated from IR but was inactive in this game. He is not a pass-catching running back, but he will be active now. You will have Damian Harris, you will have James White, and you will have Sonny Michelle. So even if...
Harris loses a few more early down type of snaps to Michelle. That'd be a negative unless you think they're going to use them in the passing game. And I just think James White is going to be the beneficiary. James White is the beneficiary here. He becomes someone that I think you can flex on a weekly basis now. Hey, Julio Jones. Hamstring tightness was off the field. And that was bad news for Matt Ryan. I mean, Matt Ryan, we've been talking about it, but it's absurd. He's either the greatest quarterback out there when he's got a healthy Julio or he is.
just a trash panda who can't do anything. He's just so bad without Julio. And Julio missed, even though he was there in the beginning, he was there in the end. He missed a large chunk of this game and didn't seem like himself. Can we title this Rulio 11? Oh. Yes, we can. And I think you did. All right. All right. Le Michael P. Ryan, ankle injury, third quarter, not injured, Frank Gore, 15 for 61 and a touchdown. Yeah, and the, uh,
The old, we're going to give Le Michael P. Ryan a good looking at turn into Frank Gore as the starter and getting a bunch of carries. P. Ryan ended up getting a touchdown because Gore got a little bit shook right before they scored. But he wouldn't have. No. No, Michael would not have scored. Adam Gase is Gase going to gaze. Well, what's crazy is the offense does seem to move better with Joe Flacco.
It does. And Adam Gaze, you know, he took matters into his own hands, took over play calling in the second half, and they were threatening. Made it a close game. Yeah. To a bench in the fourth, we talked about it. It's important because if Fitzpatrick is somehow inserted back into this lineup at some point, it improves the situation for...
you know, Devante Parker and the back side of the backfield. It was crazy to watch him come in and immediately it's like Parker, reception, Gassiki, reception. It's like, okay, this office is moving. But obviously the reason that you might not want to go with Ryan Fitzpatrick was the end of that one minute drive where he threw the interception and all your chance to win, went away. That's kind of what he does. But Tua was and is the starter going forward. He's already been named. He's the starter next week. So, you know, just something to keep your eyes on and don't have confidence.
Don't play two. Yeah, certainly don't play two. All right. Drew Breeze was sent to injured reserve. Ian Rappaport said that the, yeah, what, 11 broken ribs? The fracture count of his ribs just keeps going up. I don't even know. I did not know you had that many ribs. I assumed you got, well, like a four pack on each side or something. How do you break 11? You have a 300-pound man fall on you.
