Fantasy Football 2017 - Buy Low Guys, Pump the Brakes, #Footclan Questions

That spells trouble for San Francisco. Now, I'm still starting Carlos Hyde. I'm still starting Todd Gurley. But that's where the confidence ends in this matchup. I know that a lot of people, I'm going to play Pierrigorson, and that's fine because he's just, he's a volume type of player. But I'm just saying for this matchup, I actually think I'm going to take the under of the 39 and a half.

I just have, I'm not, not feeling the offensive firepower hitting besides Gurley and Hyde. Yeah, Hyde is usually better at home. I could see this game, I could see this game going above the 39 and a half. Look, Thursday night games traditionally, they're not the most fun thing in the world. Short week, you don't get to prepare.

With these two poor offices, that's why Vegas is expecting it to be low. But I think I lean towards Andy's side. Not that it's going to be a huge barn burner, but I would probably take the over on this game. Are you confident in the Rams pass catchers? I mean, 49ers through this point are 7th in allowing yards. I mean, so that things have been okay for them. But you're talking. It's been a very difficult thing to ascertain like.

Okay, two defenses have faced the Seattle Seahawks in that offensive line. Both defenses had huge success in their matchups against Seattle. Like San Francisco looked great. The game was 6'6 throughout until the fourth quarter. And then Green Bay looked great. And then they came out and they got torched. So maybe it's the Seahawks. So I think it might be more of a Seahawks problem. I mean, I said that about the Green Bay D. I thought they'd get torched because the pressure up front hid their secondary deficiencies.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens. This is a divisional game. But just saying, it's like, are you throwing out Cooper Cup as a wide receiver three or better this week? Are you benching it? I think it's hard. If you're ever going to start Cooper Cup, why wouldn't you do it now? Fair point? Yeah, I agree. If you were going to. I mean, I'm not saying you should, but out of all the rookie wide receivers, he's been up there with the most impressive. It's not the most impressive. I would probably still start Sammy Watkins over Cooper Cup.

Like he forgot to switch accounts. Exactly. And he basically said.

Well, he didn't really like playing for Billy Donovan and him and Russ were the only two in Oklahoma City that could perform. This is technological failure. He's not going like full Dion Sanders here. No, this is not Dion Sanders. This is like I messed up and now I have to apologize for all my comments because I talked in the third person about Kevin Durant and all his motivations for leaving. I've always considered talking in the third person. It seems like a fun thing to do. Yeah, I would love to hear that.

No breaks. No breaks. I'm going to pump the brakes on Chris Thompson. Oh, wow. I almost did him. He probably was signed today in your league. Nice. Here's the story with Chris Thompson. He has been in the league for this is his fourth season.

And I looked this up. He has had more than 10 carries in a game one single time in his career. He's actually only had more than five receptions in a game four times in three plus years. And yes, it was very impressive what he's done so far. But last week, remember, I believe he had three carries and he had two touchdowns. In week one, he had a huge play as well. Chris Thompson is, we've talked about him.

for years because the talent is there. Chris Thompson, the real-life NFL player, he's very good. He's an excellent player, but it has never transitioned into actual fantasy value. So now with these big plays coming, and Robert Kelly with the rib injury, I know that people are, they're getting hyped. They're getting hyped for Chris Thompson and what he can do. John Riggins came out and said that Chris Thompson should be the starting running back for his Washington.

Redskins. However, he's not going to be. Yeah. Somaget P. Rhine, efficient or inefficient, is going to take a ton of carries if Kelly is out. If Kelly is out.

And if he's not, you're going to basically be in that situation where I believe you're chasing points with a low volume player and overpaying for him. So if you bought him today, I'm not trying to disappoint you. I do think that you can flex Chris Thompson this week if Rob Kelly misses. He has value in the passing game. Yeah, I was going to say more so in PPR. Exactly. More so on PPR. So I think we pumped the brakes. I don't think any of us are counting on a 40 touchdown year for Chris Thompson.

he's probably lucky to score two more times. Right. No, I think that's accurate. If he scores two more touchdowns over the course of the season, that would be probably the expectation that you would have for Chris Thompson coming into the season. I'm going to pump the brakes on a guy that we like. We've talked them up before, but Jquiz Rogers, who just had a great week as expected coming off of his week one by, goes to Chicago against a bad team.

Gets the carries, gets the work, gets the volume, gets the touchdown. Fantasy owners are happy. We like to Quiz Rogers. But here's the thing. The Chicago Bears, they're not quite that great. Now go on the road to Minnesota with a great run defense that just shut down Lev Bell. I think you're going to have a different feel for your happiness level after that game. Right. I mean, so it's not that Jquiz Rogers isn't going to get the volume. He will. And if he gets a touchdown,

You'll be just as happy. I think it's going to be far more difficult to do it, is my point, against this Minnesota defense in Minnesota. Also, after that, you got the New York Giants, and then Doug Martin is back. So it's a pump for me. You know, we talked about this before in the draft season when it looked like Kenneth Dixon was...

Because we are not yes men here. We don't blindly agree with one another. Trevor Simeon is the new hotness. He is dominating, but he gets to go on the road now. He has to take on the bills. The bills have not allowed a passing touchdown. Now granted, we're still very early season. So data is difficult to spot trends, especially when you've played the Jets and Cam Newton, who's still recovering from his shoulder situation.

But Trevor Simeon, here's some interesting stats, which you may take them as positive or negative. Trevor Simeon is leading the league in red zone completions, red zone touchdowns, 10 zone completions, and 10 zone touchdowns. I mean, what is. Sounds pretty good. Yeah, exactly. What is going on for Trevor Simeon, but these are home games. They were, the matchups were not scary, especially the one against Dallas. That's where he really did the damage.

And you add in the rushing touchdown. I am very hesitant to play Trevor Simeon to accept that Trevor Simeon has in fact leveled up to the point where you're like, I'm willing to play him on the road. So how would you say that again? I'm willing to play him on the road. You can check the tape. But I for me.

And Trevor Simeon was my guy last week. Well, it's touchdowns with him, right? He's not been in the 300-yard range. He's 219, 2-31, 4 touchdowns, 2-touchdowns. And he has the weapons to get it done. I just don't think that he will be able to get done on the road against the bills. It's interesting. It's interesting. Is it an inability to get done, or is it the game flow you think that Denver is just going to contain that office so they'll just run the ball? It's all of those factors. All of the above. All built into one stat that says,

I'm not playing Trevor Simba. All right. So, Jason, you get a chance to speak again briefly. I really made his points for him. Yeah, I mean, I will say this. We talked before the show because you're like, sorry, I'm going to have to, you know, squash some of your stream of the week. Do we want a water bet? So I think he is absolutely a streamable candidate, but I'm not calling for him to continue as the number two quarterback.

You go, hey, Andy, did you know that you have the number one and number two quarterback and fantasy football on your dynasty team? And Andrew Luck is out for you. Right. And I, because I thought I'd be scrambling. And I have Alex Smith and Trevor Simeon on my roster. And that's good enough for one and two. The domination tandem. Oh, fantasy football is funny.
