And that's what it's all about. And learning about zebras. We all learned something yesterday. We did. We did. And Jason, I think, learned the most. Yeah, I didn't retain hardly any of it, though, which is part for the course.

So what did you learn, though? Do you remember that? I learned that zebras are angry animals. You don't ride them. That you're not allowed to ride because they won't allow it. They don't permit it. Yeah, they say. And that's really a lesson in life. If something doesn't want you to ride it, you don't write it. That's a solid lesson. And that's why I tell Jason every week, get off my back. Yeah. Even if I answer that question on Twitter with one word answer, there's no context to how I'm thinking about doing it. So that's what I love about Sunday morning is I'll get those starts at questions and I'll say, this is why I would play this player or this is why I would play that player. Yeah, and the rubber meets the road on Sunday morning. You've got to put them in the lineup. You don't get to say, oh, I'm going to just wait for more news. It's time you'll be making decisions right there. Quick question of the day, guys. This one comes in from Aaron in Chicago.

Hey guys, love the show. I am new to trading players. How do you determine what a reasonable trade is, a reasonable trade offer, or whether I should accept? I don't want to be the person who is wasting other people's times with ridiculous trades. So what advice do you have for Aaron in Chicago? So step number one is you ask yourself, does this trade actually make the other team better? Or does it just make my team better? Because if it's...

One of those trades we go, man, it's going to be great if they accept this because my team is going to be so much better. I and I'm going to win and dominate this trade, then it's a bad offer. You're not, it's not going to happen. We all, we all have the delusions of grandeur that when we send the trade offer of, ooh, Josh Gordon just blew up. I'm going to trade him for Antonio Brown right now. It's going to be fantastic. It's not going to happen. The way I look at a trade is when I'm putting it together.

I'm taking all parties into account. And then right before I send that trade offer, I'm a little bit hesitant. I'm a little bit nervous to send this offer because I believe they will accept it. And that way, I know we're both winning, but I still believe that I'm helping my team more than I am hurting it by losing a player.

Yeah, I agree with that. I mean, if you're talking about offering trades, there's a big problem where, you know, you come into weak and you don't get a trade to go through. If you're being offered the trade, it's much more simple. You simply look at your roster and say, does this improve my starters? And does it wreck my depth? And generally speaking, this is a broad, not universal rule.

But when there is a two-for-one trade where you're trading two players for one better player, the better player is usually the side you want. Yes. And things that aren't taken into account are in those situations. The team getting the two players has to drop someone. The team getting the one better player gets to pick someone up in addition off the waivers. And I'm going to throw this out there. These two gentlemen don't know, but I, look, I've been against this for a long, long time.

philosophically. And yesterday I came to the conclusion that it's a tool that I think people want, that people need, that people could utilize. And I don't know when, but we are going to develop a trade... What are you doing? Tool. Look, if I put it out here in the podcast, then we have to do it. I believe we should have... maximize value or at least be able to see, you know, what's a good trade? What's a bad trade? I don't know how long it's going to be. Coming in 2022. It's not, yeah, I think we can get there. Yeah. Okay. I think you can learn how to code. I'm working on it right now. In the next few years. All right. Let's get into the news. News and notes from around the league. Rex Burkhead is in the concussion protocol, but was spotted in pads.

on Wednesday doing individual drills. Yeah, the fact that he's already in pads certainly suggests that he's quickly moving through the process. We didn't even know that the general public did not know that Rex Burkhead was in the concussion protocol, but certainly seems like he's going to play. We were debating this in the studio a little bit yesterday. I'm worried about Rex Burkett because you have the variable of Bill Belichick, you have the variable of multiple people in the backfield.

And you have Rex Burkhead proving himself to be very, very injury prone. Already hurt in camp. Now a concussion. Sony Michelle's a first round pick. And if there's one person on this podcast that has reiterated to me over and over and over again, the first round pick running backs they play. Yep. It's been Mike. Absolutely. So what's your concern level about long-term viability of Rex Burkett? It's wherever it was entering the season.

which is I still believe in Rex Burkhead long term. Why I liked Rex Burkhead is when he was doing his damage and in that stretch where he was actually healthy and he was a running back one during that time, Dionne Lewis was still getting more carries than he was getting. He profiles as the goal line back. Sure, Sony Michelle could take it. And that's the big issue. Does.

Do they move to Sony Michelle at the goal line? Because then Rex Burkhead takes a massive hit. Jeremy Hill is out for the season with a torn ACL. He was kind of the X factor of will he take the short yardage or the goal line roll away from Rex Burkhead? But Rex Burkhead is still an excellent pass catcher. He is the most well-rounded running back on the team. A lot of hype about how integral they view him. Yeah.

So you're still optimistic. Yes, I am. And Sony Michelle is still practicing limited, but he said that he is preparing as if he's going to play this week. If Rex Burkhead misses. Week two against Jacksonville, tough defense. The only way that Saquan made a fantasy day was one big play against him. The rest of the day didn't have a lot of room to work. Where do you put Sony Michelle this week? If he starts and Rexes out? If he starts and Rexes out.

And we get to see him for the first time and he's, you know, him and James White. I'd probably have him. I'm guessing because we don't know, you know, his health and how much they would utilize him. I'd have him around running back 20. Oh, I'm on board with that. Yeah, I'd say he's a strong too, if that's the case. They expect Leonard Fournett. So Josina Anderson from ESPN says she expects Leonard Fernett with the hamstring injury to play on Sunday. We'll keep you up to date tomorrow. We have in and out.

We'll see. Yeah. We will see. Mike Vrable, head coach of the Tennessee Titans, said that barring a setback, Marcus Marietta should be good to go for week two against the Texans. This is very good news for past catchers in Tennessee. It's huge news for Corey Davis, who was already a target monster. Then you lose Marcus Mariotas' previous favorite target from multiple years of Delaney Walker.

This is crucial for Cory Davis. And last week, Mariotto went out. You had Blaine Gabbert for half of that game. Look, the blonde bombshell is not getting it done. He was a target monster, Corey Davis, 13 targets, only caught six of them. Do you view that as a buy low opportunity because efficiency is going to go up? Mario would be out there. Do you think that Cory Davis is somebody that you could buy that has, you know, he doesn't have a shine to him yet. Right. Yeah, I mean, he's a guy that coming into the draft.

you could argue was a value if you believe he's going to hit. Now, the injury to Mariota does still concern me in the sense that, you know, we've seen his poor play when he's hampered by injuries. And so if his accuracy is off, it's not going to be good. But if you told me, you know, imagine, imagine the week before the season. Delaney Walker goes down.

Corey Davis's average drop position would have skyrocketed. Absolutely. So this is, I think you called a good shot there, Andy. Go see if the Cory Davis owner is disinterested in his week one performance. Kyle Shanhan is not sure of Markey's good when he's going to play in week two. You had Dante Pettis last week, two for 61 in a touchdown. He's a player that's impressed all of us here. Opportunity could be.

showing itself. Because you also have a situation now where, yes, you have Matt Breda and you have Alfred Morris, but they're not the past catching weapon that Jerich McKinnon was. There are targets that have opened up simply because Jerich McKinn is now out for the season. You saw it last week. Matt Breda, one catch. George Kittle had opportunity. Dante Pettis could be flex-worthy this week if Marquis Coogan is out. I 100% agree with that. The lions got manhandled.

by a rookie quarterback playing for the Jets. Yes. I mean, that's not to be smirsch the Jets, but things haven't been going well for that franchise, and they came in and they looked like they were playing a college team the way that they handled the Lions. You know what's interesting about the Jets is Germain Curse is going to be returning as well. Like that wide receiver court with a healthy Quincy and Nunewa suddenly looks very good. Very interesting. Yes.
